As soon as she saw the costumes, she decided that was her goal in life. Who knew that being a planet would be SO EXCITING!!!! She flailed a bit, then sat there.

... Yep! Just sat there. Assessing the situation. Watching the pendulum. Finally, she pushed herself to a start. She decided she would walk slowly, to avoid the pendulum and enjoy the seasons, but as soon as she started it was revealed it wasn't that easy.

She had to jump to the right to avoid the pendulum then back to the left to avoid another student. And was that winter in front of her? She thought she saw white. Sprinting in front of her....

She found out it wasn't winter. In fact, it looked like she had gone in a circle. And then the pendulum caught the edge of her diameter.

Wheeeeeeee.

Leaves were falling, they were still falling everywhere. She tired to look around to see where her two sisters were, but that was impossible in the leaf storm. She just had to keep moving... sooner or later this would get better. AJ continued to walk as quickly as she could. It went from leaves, leaves, leaves to nothing. It went still all of a sudden, and Aubrey knew that, that was a sign that something was about to happen. Just when she starting thinking about what to expect snow starting pounding down on her. It was swirling in every direction and before she had time to catch her bearing she bumped into someone. "Sorry!" Who it was that she hit, she had no idea. The first year was having a hard time figuring out if she was even going forward anymore. It was like she was walking into nothingness.

Pushing on as best she could AJ started to get pelted with what felt like snowballs, but not your average snowballs, were talking balls big enough to build a snowman with. She opened her eyes wide and could have sworn she saw a scarf fly by. Weird. More walking ensued and just as she was thinking that she was beginning to see a little bit clearer she got smacked in the face by a carrot. "What in the world?" she exclaimed. Apparently she had been getting hit with bits of a snowman. Man, she was really enjoying herself in this lesson. She hoped that all of her other lessons would be this fun!

After what seemed like forever, the rain disappeared and instead was replaced by brightness. Okay, this sucked too, and everything was getting hot. Already starting to feel clammy, she tied the sleeves of her hoodie around her waist so that at least she didn't have to carry it anymore.

Giving a burst of speed to get this over with, she past the pendulum. Pheo! That had been totally exhausting seeing how hot it was. Wiping her forehead, she made her way over to where Bay was. "You finished just before me! Awesome." Hopefully he had enjoyed this too. Curiously, she wondered what they were supposed to do now.

HA HA! HIS FIRST LAP WAS A SUCCESS. Well nearly a success. It was success enough ok? Sure he had fallen a couple of times, but at least he got through the first round without getting knocked by the pendulum!

CRAAAAASHHH

Spoke too soon. The little Gryffindor went flying across the classroom. And just when things couldn't have gotten even worse. His feet weren't covered in leaves anymore. They were covered in WET slush. EWWW. Winter. His whole bubble became 10 degrees colder and his warm breath started fogging up the ball. NO! He needs to see where he's going. Not good. Not good. Abort mission. ABORT MISSION.

What triggered the seasonal changes anyways? Was it the laps around the sun? In that case. RUN. And slip on slush. Then get up. And trip on more slush. This cycle could not get any more redundant.

His orb started to build up snow. A snowman even appeared on it and the boy felt colder now. Yup, this was winter, alright. Jun continued waddling his way to avoid the pendulum. No way he wanted to get hit and sent back to the start. But his classmates were moving too slow for this activity. He would hex them out the way, but Jun couldn't reach his wand in this costume so he'll just have to make due.

Jumping out of the way of the pendulum, Jun bumped into someone and fell to the floor. Flailing his arms and legs, he tried to get up but yeah, no, that wasn't happening anytime soon. Well. Jun decided to roll onto the next season, having missed being hit and couldn't get up just yet. At least he was spinning like a planet, right? Per say of course.

Mo was a little planet known as Molandia, and it was autumn. This was all he knew at the moment, except that Molandia existed in the most populous solar system in the entire universe. There were dozens of planets, all with crazy overlapping orbits, and all running into each other and the pendulum, which was cool but didn't have a practical application in their solar system.

He'd just ignore it for now.

So now Mo just had to figure out how to move in his Molandia. He took a few steps forward, the planet rolling with him, and then a few steps more. Now see? This was ea-

He got hit by the pendulum. At least it sent him skittering forward rather than backwards, but how embarrassing.

Sloooooow and steady won the race, right? Sophie was jogging now, but she had started after the over-eager ones had begun, so it looked like most of them were up ahead in spring. Except for those who had been even too over-eager and got knocked back. That... actually was happening a lot, and Sophie kept having to backtrack quickly or side-step them to avoid being knocked into at full-blast.

It was actually a harder task than it looked, keeping track of where the other students were in front of and keeping an eye on the pendulum's swing. And making sure she didn't stop abruptly so no one behind her went slamming into her. It was just all messy, wasn't it? Sophie didn't like the way the bubble prevented her from ducking and making super sharp moves to avoid people. This game was HARD, Flamsteed. HARD.

Somehow, though, aside from the few bumps here and there, she had paced herself well and been mindful enough of others to make it into winter without any tragic accidents. She was only happy for the first few snowflakes that fell as a sign of victory into the next season - but then more snowflakes were falling and it was coooold. COLD INSIDE HER OWN LITTLE BUBBLE. In mild disbelief, she looked over her shoulder in envy at those who were still battling the falling leaves and wind in their own bubbles. They had it good, man.

...Not that she wanted to get sent back there, though. No, no. She dodged the pendulum as it swung in front of her again, feeling someone bump into her from behind at her abrupt halt - sorry, bro - and she navigated sideways away from the barrier to avoid another person who had just gotten bumped around. Sheesh. It was like... almost like that weird Muggle game of bumper cars, but bumper bubbles instead.

Paying too close of attention to those in front of her getting bumped around, the pendulum knocked directly into her bubble and sent her flying sideways toward the barrier, the wind picking up and smacking her in the face with heavy snowflakes. Bummer.

almost back to normal Bay saw Lux coming towards him "awesome… so how many times did you get hit?" he asked her.. it wasn't like he was injured or anything but it was sure scary getting knocked over into an invisible wall.

Waiting together he wondered what they got to do next.. could they go sit on those desks in the corner because that would be great… even better could Bay take a nap.

Sophie was still swatting around at the orange, fall-colored leaves, when she spotted the pendulum out of the corner of her eye. She pushed forward on the inner edge of her plant-ball and caused the ball to roll forward--her inside of it, of course. She tumbled to the ground just as about downpour of leaves came falling down.

Where were these things coming from?! ... Oh, right, Magic.

Anyway, she swiped the leaves off her face and pushed herself off the ground. The pendulum swung behind her. Okay, next season, please?! Autumn was seriously about to kill her!

To make it clear, the Professor had her at 'Pendulum Dogdeball'. She had some knowledge of the latter word, enough to know that things and people would get hit and there would be a lot of physical exertion if you wanted to live. Okay, so maybe it wasn't that drastic but the concept was still there. Had to keep moving or you could bloody well have your teeth knocked out. Lex kept listening, having already darted up out of her seat, eager to get this show on the road. Didn't sound like anyone would be losing their teeth though. Something about planet suits?

...Huh?

The Gryffindor gave it another moment figuring it would be explained. Her jaw dropped open when she saw it. BUBBLES. They'd be rolling around in bubbles!!! This!! hdsvjefvesj!!! She'd been wanting to do something of this sort for AGES. The Professor had just earned himself possibly 100 chocolate frog points with this one lesson. The questions earlier were officially worth it.

Of course she wasted no time in getting into one. This was going to be epic and she wouldn't be the one sitting it out. NOPE. Having already gotten the explanations on the seasons and such, Lex was fully prepared inside her bubble. The leaves that appeared out of nowhere didn't phase her even in the least bit, she pushed forward, each crunch reminding her of the bubble she was in...those and the leaves hitting against the transparent wall. Yeah.

Now then...this way had her rolling over here and there was a stumble over theeeere. Know what? She was really starting to get the hang of this--

"Whoooaaaaa!" Someone had bumped her from behind and believe her, she TRIED steadying herself in this leaf storm of sorts, turning to see who might have done it, only to find herself headed for the pendulum!! !!!!! !!!!!!! Wrong way! Wrong way! Wrong way! The Gryffindor tried everything but it was too late and the surface of the bubble!planet hit against the pendalum, sending her merlin knows where--she could hardly see anything in all this spinning. Sweet CIRCE.

After that small bump Beverly MIGHT have giggled a bit, but she quickly placed the poker face back on. She needed to finish the orbit and hope to get out in one piece. Which she obviously was, but putting on the theatrics made things more interesting. She was fighting to the death! Yeah, that sounded daring. A few more seconds to save the planet, Beverly Juniper Wayne MUST reach a full orbit or KABOOM!

Racing against time forward, Beverly fanned herself with her hand. Was it just her or was it getting really warm in here? Suddenly warm air blasted her from above. Ugh. It was summer. Too hot. Someone get her out of here! Wait. She was supposed to save her planet. Right. Fighting against the heat and as hair stuck to her face, Beverly trotted forward in her bubble.

Merlin, she wanted water. Lots of it.

Even though she had fun, Lux was glad to climb out of this costume. Her clothes were still wet. "I got hit twice. Once because the pendulum hit me, and one because I slipped in a puddle." Stupid water. Ugh. Her clothes were still wet.

And thinking of that... "Say, could you dy my clothes off? Everything feels heavy now." She didn't like being wet, but she didn't know the spell herself. "So how many times did you get hit?"

A few seconds later, the Autumn leaves seemed to disappear all on their own. This momentarily confused Sophie, and she paused in her tracks. The pendulum swung forward, and Sophie had to start running hamster-style to get away from it. Her little planet rolled itself right into Winter then, because a single snowflake landed on Sophie's nose, getting right in her line of vision.

Uh oh. She hated snow! Well, she didn't hate it, but she didn't necessarily like rolling around in it either.

Too bad for her, though. The snow kept coming, and soon, it was at least a foot deep, and Sophie could no longer run. Whaaaaat?! This was absurd!

Would you look at that. Nigel made it completely around without getting hit. That is impressive for him. But that sad part is Nigel did not like the season that came after Fall. Winter was a horrible season. His hair would freeze and the water was frozen mostly everywhere. Unless he travels.

Stupid Winter.

And look it was snowing in his ball thing. Just great. Leaves and now Snow. He should have worn a hat today. But then he would have had to face hat hair. Not thank you.This will be over eventually.

Just ignore everyone, take care of his hair, and get through this activity.

Jasmine knew it was winter when the colorful leaves turned brown and shriveled up, followed by a drop in temperature in her planet bubble. Then she felt something wet on her cheek. Noooo, please not snow.......unfortunately that was exactly what it was. Planet Jasmine was experiencing snow flurries.

Time to press on, so that's what Jasmine did. She did not want to get hit with that pendulum again and she tried her best to avoid it. She was doing well until, BAM again. This time she was blindsided , she assumed by a fellow student. It was an assumption because Jasmine went flying sideways on impact and didn't get a look at the culprit. Picking herself up again, she tried to keep moving, but her fall had taken her attention away from the......PENDULUM. Down goes Guidry, down goes Guidry. Jasmine hated winter. Just when she thought she might not make it.........the snow stopped.

Flying into the barrier was no fun, but bouncing off it was - until Sophie went crashing into someone, and ended up falling down inside her bubble. WIBBLE. She wasn't actually sad, but she pretended to be so people would hopefully avoid her, and started craaaaaaawling her way toward the spring sector. Had to be close, because there was someone up ahead not even ten feet with rain pouring down upon them. She'd prefer that to the snow that was piling up on her back as she crawled.

Better to be moderately warm and rainy than freezing and snowy ANY DAY. Winter was the worst, and here she was stuck in it.

She was probably cheating in some way, though, by being on the ground, and she didn't want Flamsteed to give her a hard time - so, reluctantly, she waited around till the pendulum slammed into her bubble one last time before rising to her feet, brushing the snow off her back, sticking her arms out ahead of her for balance, and PLOWING AS FAST AS SHE COULD FORWARD TOWARD THE SPRING SECTION. MOVE OUTTA THE WAY, KIDS.

Caleb bounced off of - someone, a Hufflepuff he could see, he was pretty sure it was Kace - and started bouncing back towards the pendulum. NOOOOOO he didn't want to crash again! So he flung himself towards the ground, his hands flying into the puddles forming at his feet to stop himself. He might have gotten in the path of a few other people, but he hoped he didn't.

Actually wait, he didn't care.

Back to the task at hand - getting rid of all this RAIN and getting into summer! He stood up and started to run, focusing on getting back into "orbit" with everyone else. Sure enough, the rain started to subside, and flowers started to bloom at his feet, like he THOUGHT would happen the first time.

Yes, back on track!!

Pendulum dodgeball? Adrienne was both apprehensive and a bit excited. Normally she did her best to avoid the activity sections of Astronomy, but hey, this particular one sounded like it had the possibility of being actually informative. However, her mind was quickly changed when she found herself... inside a giant hamster ball? That's what it felt like, at least. Merlin's beard, she did not want to be in here. Paying very little attention to the instructions being given, she took a few steps forward, trying to get accustomed to the way that the ball rolled as she walked.

And she was taken by complete surprise when she heard the crunching sound of leaves under her feet and felt a breeze whip her hair. What was happennniiiiing? Adrienne stumbled forward in the direction that most of the class seemed to be heading, still unsure of what was going on. In her confusion, she slipped, maybe on a leaf or maybe just tripping over her own feet, and, arms careening, fell backwards in her planet-ball-thing and bumped into someone else (DaniDiNardo), which sent her bouncing off in the other direction. "Aaaaaahhhh!" Adrienne exclaimed, trying to reorient herself and realising that she'd only managed to move backwards, so it was like she hadn't made any progress whatsoever.

Kace now could see the person he bumped into. He wiped the ball off with the rain drops and it was Caleb! He gave him a wave a sheepish grin. Then he saw the pendulum coming towards his way. With his eyes wide, he ran to the other direction and almost got hit, but it missed him by a hair! He smiled and was glad he didn't get it. But he must admit it was fun. He wished Emmy was here so he could bump into her for fun.

Then as he was relaxing, he realized it was starting to get hotter. It felt humid and he was fanning himself. Then he felt the ocean mist spray him in the face. Welp. It was summer time that is for sure. He even smelt the familiar smell of barbecue cooking. He LOVED that smell. He put his hand on his stomach to keep it from growling. He hoped the temperature would cool down. He was starting to sweat.

Flowers were blooming on his orb and the cold went away. Jun was still rolling on the floor; getting up from here was too hard. Using lots of effort and force, Jun managed to get back on his feet and continue "rotating" around the "sun". This activity was already getting tiresome. But he couldn't stop moving or else he'll get sent back to Autumn. Yeah, Jun really didn't want that. He saw the pendulum coming and dodged it quickly. It needed to stop moving so fast and people needed to START moving faster. Could he possibly trip people to get them down and roll them away to clear a path? CAN HE REALLY DO THAT? But just as he was about to trip his first victim, the boy hadn't noticed the pendulum coming his way.

BAM.

Jun flew and landed on the floor again. Ugh, this meant starting all over. Is this why the Earth rotated really fast around the sun? Would it get sent back to Autumn if it got hit? HMMM? Whatever. Jun rolled his way back to the start, feeling the temperature on his orb drop and turn red, orange, yellow, and brown. Yeah, he might as well do all of this rolling on the floor.

No more snow? And was it getting warmer? "Now we're talking", Jasmine thought. This was her favorite time of year, spring. She wondered if by thinking if spring-y things, she could enourage them to be here.was it her imagination, or did her planet just get brighter inside? Ah yes, grass suddenly appeared under Jasmine's feet and some little flowers popped up in the grass. Now this was what she was talking about. This was what she loved.

Unfortunately, Jasmine could not dwell on Spring. She had to finish her orbit. Pushing onward, Jasmine had her head on a swivel, ever on the lookout now for the swinging pendulum and rogue planets. Adopting the slow and steady wins the race mantra, Jasmine moved forward carefully. She sped up only when she needed to to avoid someone or something. Jasmine kept on moving, kept on orbiting the sun.

Hamster-ing. Hamster-ing. Hamster-ing............

.......right into her least favorite season, winter, where the plastic inside of the ball started fogging up. Yep, couldn't see a thing. Not to mention how cold it was inside her ball. Seriously, it was like being locked in one of those walk-in freezers they have at restaurants. Not that she'd ever had that happen to her, nope.

And then it was snowing. Bleugh. Stupid stuff was slippery too. So slippery that she again lost control and turned into a human pinball. Into the barrier, the pendulum and back. And then into someone. "Sorry!" she offered up from inside her own personal not fun snow globe as she continued her orbit as a pinball.

Finally, she was able to get control and hamster again.

Ugh. So much slush. And sleet. And cold. How do you make it stop!?! Zander was not dressed for this sort of weather. This is not fair. Some of the others were already prancing around in beautiful spring sunshine. And he was standing in the middle of an arctic tundra. WHY WHY WHY?? The whole running around the sun thing wasn't working either. This galaxy is not big enough for so many planets! The worst part was trying to run in the midst of a slush pile. After falling down so many times Zander just gave up completely.

He will make it around the sun no matter what. Buuuut he might just crawl his way there. So the Gryffindor was crawling in a huge puddle of slush, while fogging up his planet, and shivering. Ugh. Winter sucks. But he's more than halfway there?

When Adrienne had finally finished reorienting herself, she was back where she'd started, and significantly more annoyed than she had been a minute or two ago. At least there weren't as many other students around the Autumn sector any more, so she could move more freely, only having to look out for the giant pendulum that thankfully didn't appear to be coming her way at the moment. Running as quickly as she could while encumbered by being inside a giant planet-ball, Adrienne moved forward, on the outer sector of the force field like thing that surrounded most of the classroom.

She wasn't paying too much attention to what was happening inside her ball, since she was trying really hard to dodge the oncoming assaults from other students who hadn't made it to winter yet and the Foucault pendulum, but she was able to register that the breeze was definitely becoming almost bitterly cold, and the leaves beneath her feet grew both in number and in brittleness, until every step was crunchy. With a sigh of relief at getting as far as she had, Adrienne realised that her breath was visible in a small cloud in front of her, just for a moment before it faded away into the cold air.

Sophie ran into a few people and sent them bouncing in different directions as she bounded through, but she was cold and covered in snow and she wanted spring - ah. There it was. The light source in the center of the room seemed to be on her side at that particular moment in her rage, for the temperature raised significantly and the snowfall became a light sprinkle inside her bubble. And though she looked around and didn't see any, she could smell the overwhelming aroma of flowers as if she had just stepped in a field of them. Enchanting.

OOOOOF!

Too distracted by taking in the change of season, someone slammed into Sophie from behind, and she went falling forward, her hands catching her before she could go face-planting on the ground. And then the pendulum smacked into her, sending the bubble rolling toward the barrier again, and Sophie just rolled with it in defeat. Fine, bubble. Fine. Just as long as she didn't have to go back to winter - and to ensure that, she crawled again, hurrying deeper into the spring section before jumping back to her feet. When she did, the rain halted, but a gust of wind came and blew wet flower petals in her face. Well. At least she could see what kind of flowers she had been smelling now.

Merlin, this was an intense activity.

Taking in her surroundings once more, she got a good grasp of how people were moving and tried to cut her own path, not trusting following anyone toward the summer part of the rotation in case they came to a quick stop. She tip-toed from side-to-side, casually bumping bubbles with people gently and shooting quick glances over her shoulder to make sure no one was going to fall or slam into her. She knew it was inevitable, but she could at least try to avoid getting run over again, right?
