The brilliant colors of the sunset have been painted over by the mystical navy blue of the night sky and as you enter the Astronomy classroom you can see the moon clearly through one of the many windows. The desks are arranged in their usual semi circle to help created a more personal environment, only something seems a bit off as you go to sit down. Both the desk and chair wobble as the legs on one side are longer than the other and cause you to lean quite a bit. Try not to fall out of your seat or have your things fall to the floor, yes?

Did you remember to use the lint roller on the small table outside of the classroom? It was there next to the sign that reads, "Not to be used as a brush for your hair."

A lamp, a quaffle, and 3 can lids painted black rest in the middle of the professor's desk. Professor Flamsteed, wearing the same top hat you may have spotted him with at the Opening Feast, can be seen standing to the right of his desk with a giddy expression on his face and offers you a salute as you move to take your seat.

So come on in and have a seat. Class will begin shortly.

After his topsy turvy encounter with the pendulum awhile ago, Cris made it a point to keep a better lookout for it as it swung back and forth. As it approached his costume, he would run as fast as possible, pushing himself along to dodge out of its way.

It was starting to swelter inside his costume, on occasions steaming up. As the sweat dripped down his forehead, it burned his eyes causing him to blink massively. It was one of those moments as he struggle to wipe the perspiration away, he lost his focus and then next thing he knew....

BUMP!! He was hit on the side which caused him to careen off course. Was it the pendulum or another student, Cris didn't have time to hazard a guess.

"Look out!!" he called out as he tried to avoid a collision.

As she entered the second season of her orbit the failing leaves vanished to be replaced with.. HAIL!? WHAT THE HELL? Ouch, ouch, ouch! It was coming down hard and fast in the size of sugar cubes and Justine, flinching with slight pain, ran forward without looking and ran right into the swinging pendulum.

Naturally the young girl went flying back, and losing her footing in the process, Justine ended up falling backward, landing hard on her bum. "Ugh!" Justine growled with annoyance, rubbing her backside even as she was peppered with hail. Okay, she took it back, THIS WAS NOT FUN. Totally not fun. Raising back up, Justine clenched her jaw and this time keeping her eyes wide open, she weaved her way through the many students, past the swinging pendulum and made it to the next season, all the while cursing under her breath in French.

After her second orbit, Maddie was feeling good. She wasn't as uncomfortable in her planet costume thing anymore and she couldn't WAIT to tell her brothers about this lesson because it wasn't lame at ALL. It was really cool, actually. Shows how much THEY know about Hogwarts. Buncha fibbers, they were.

The small brunette continued along, moving even quicker now that the slush between her feet was drying up. The temperature change was extremely noticeable and she'd noticed that things smelled different now too. Flowers. Yeah, there was a DEFINITE floral smell coming from SOMEWHERE and the smell was SO strong, Maddie's nose started to itch. Her eyes TOO. She bit her lip and decided against rubbing THOSE since she didn't want watery eyes when she was trying to avoid the pendulum. It was really hard, though. The itching sensation was SO irritating and all she wanted to do was-AHHHH AHHHHH ACHOOOOOOO! SPRINGALLERGIES,WHAT? SIGH.

Maddie's expression remained neutral but she was anything but calm right now. She wanted so badly for this particular season to be over and NOW she couldn't stop sn-AHHHH AHHHHH ACHOOOOOO! Sneezing. It really wasn't fun. ESPECIALLY when she sneezed at the WRONG moment and got HIT with the pendulum head-on. The eleven year old FLEW back and hit the barrier and then went rolling towards the pendulum AGAIN. UGH.

This was not her favorite sea-AHHH AHHHH ACHOOOOO!

Kace was getting prepared to run again. He wanted to make it to the next orbit. He was up and his limbs remained intact. But that collision was kind of fun. He chuckled at that. But now it was time to avoid the pendulum again. He began to move his feet in the ball, he ran and dodged the pendulum just in time but then he forgot one more thing.....the person in front of him!

He was running but couldn't stop. He waved his hands and said, "LOOK OUT!!" before he bumped into the dude. He fell backwards and then laughed. He got up and noticed it was Declan! He grinned sheepishly and shrugged. "Sorry!" he mouthed. Then he noticed it was getting slightly warmer in his ball. Huh? Was the season changing he couldn't tell just yet. He saw the snow melting and the sun was coming out.

This was pretty cool. Dang! She should have asked professor Airey if her brother could have joined. Sure he was an Auror on the watch, but he SO would have liked this. What would a few minutes of fun do of difference to rounds? Nothing.

Somewhat getting the hang of moving inside the planet suit, a shiver ran down Beverly's arms at the sudden temperature change. Then, slowly a swirl of snow started falling. At first it was all wonders, but soon the situation in her planet costume got a bit challenging as the bottom grew slippery. NO. Don't dare--

FLOP!

Beverly was on her bum just as the pendulum came down and tossed over off to Merlin knows where in the classroom, all the while the Slytherin curled up in a fetal position. It was still fun.

Bree felt a sense of excitement as the professor explained the activity. She had never dreamed seasons could be simulated in a classroom with a charmed costume or that she would have a running activity with pendulum swing in astronomy class. It all seemed outstanding to her and then the costume was suddenly on her and she felt so ready for anything. Before long it was time to give it go. She took her place at the start and started to run and saw colorful leaves falling all around her. Then the pendulum swung by and she dodged it with ease thinking this is simple. Then out of the blue she felt droplets which started to come down harder and harder. This was no longer fun. She ran as fast as she could to make it to the next season and then the pendulum swung by again and she could barely see it. She swerved to the right and barely made it through and then tripped and fell into cold white slush. She felt so relieved, she had made it to winter.

WHOA!!!! that had been an experience! One the fifth year rather enjoyed. Laughing to himself he stomped around the crunchy leaves a bit in his suit. crunch crunch crunch
He suddenly didn't even mind being knocked over and all cause it was fun and he was also quick to put his hands out to catch himself and all so no real harm done! He watched as several other kids went flying across the room bouncing into the barriers and each other. HAHA!! Cool! He wanted to go flying! surely that'd be more fun than actual flying which he was not a fan or FYI. Timing it again as best he could he raaaaaaan and DOVE into the winter section as the pendulum moved through it quickly. Suddenly all his fun crunchy leaves were gone and he was in a BLIZZARD! Snow was everywhere and he couldn't see!!!! Wobbling forward he rammed into someone from what he assumed was the front of him, the direction he needed to be going in. "Sorry!" he hoped they were okay... WHERE WAS SPRING! It was Cold in here!

Marisol thought that this was surely the weirdest teaching method in history. First the professor sang and tap-danced, and now they were getting hit with a pendulum. The brunette found herself in an inflatable Mercury and tucked back her hair. She was ready.

With her quick reflexes, Mari dodged the pendulum to her best ability. That is to say, she wasn't hit once. By the time "autumn" was over, the eleven year-old was panting. And they weren't halfway done!

Declan's bubble was now a whirlwind of leaves. So much for handling these. He shielded his face from the leaves coming at him from everywhere.

Suddenly,

OOMPH! His bubble shot forward, bouncing twice before settling down and getting buried in a pile of leaves. He popped out from the mess, unharmed. What had just happened?? He was sure he missed the pendulum...OH! He spotted Kace across from him, not too far away. Just 'cos he was a friend, he wouldn't explode. Not that he would really. Dec sent him a thumbs up and that's when he noticed snow coming down at him. KACE HAD BUMPED HIM STRAIGHT INTO WINTER YAY.

MERLIN, it was cold!!! Dec withdrew his arms into his robes and pulled the hood over his head. Standing up and pulling his legs out of the leaves, he trekked out towards Spring, keeping an eye on the pendulum.

Zander watched as Flamsteed (or "Flail-steed" as he so affectionately labeled him) jumped up and down and side to side. There was definitely something weird about this guy. There is WAY too much pep in his step. Oooh an activity?! Thank goodness this whole question-answer thing was over. It was starting to get really boooorrrinnnnggggg.

And suddenly a planet costume? What? How was he supposed to walk in this!? Is this how hamsters feel? Then came the leaves. Leaves?!? There were tons of them. Red, orange, yellow? Beautiful, colorful leaves dumped all over his head by the dozen. It was kind of hard to see. It was really hard to see. AND BAM!! He was bound to trip on the leaves eventually. Doing his best to get up Zander starting running around "the sun" as directed. This was way harder than it looked.

"IIIIIIIIIIIIINCOMING!" he shouted as be took off at warp speed, the autumn leaves that were blowing into his face not fazing him in the least.

And, honestly, he had no intention of completing his orbit. He just wanted to cause some extra havoc

Okay, so there is a bit of confusion and I apologize for that so hopefully this will clarify a few things

EVERYONE is start at autumn. To quote the professor: "You all will act as the planets that orbit the sun and, by doing so, will experience each of the four seasons as they would be felt in the Northern Hemisphere. Your costumes have been charmed to reflect these seasonal changes and you will all be starting at our current season of autumn."

Seasonal changes should be in order: autumn to winter to spring to summer. No jumping from winter to summer or anything like that.

Since each of your students will be 'orbiting' at different speeds - not to mention getting hit by classmates and the pendulum - the seasonal changes happen whenever YOU decide they do. There is no rush for this if you are having fun knocking your kid around like a ping pong ball and they get stuck in autumn for a few posts because of it.

So what happens if you made a boo boo? You can edit your post(s) with the correct method (just be sure you put the reason for the edit <3) or you can get knocked SO hard by the pendulum/another person that it sends you back to the start. The choice is yours, but option two sounds more IC fun to meeeeeee

Straightening up from her fetal position, Beverly dusted her uniform, which was useless because more snow kept coming down. If her calculations were correct though, the next season should be more pleasant. She didn't much like the cold. Scratch that, she didn't like it at all.

Doing her best to move forward and dodge the pendulum - which she did this time! - Beverly noticed yet another change. Snow flurries began to turn to water and soon it wasn't snowflakes falling on her, but pink and white petals. Was that cherry blossom smell? She LOVED that! Just as she caught a petal, something came in from behind, colliding with her planet suit. Turning around she expected to see the pendulum, but it was a boy in planet suit. Hehe. She knew the boy.

Cris eyes opened wide as he saw himself headed for a young Ravenclaw girl who unfortunately had gotten hit by the pendulum and was now barely her way back on her feet.

"Sorry," he called out as his costume ran uncontrollably into her, colliding and then bouncing off. "Ooommpphhh!!," Cris felt the soft bump and found himself sprawling on his back, somersaulting backwards. He began to laugh as the image of a pinball machine popped into his mind. He felt like he was the pinball rolling around uncontrollably, ricocheting off others along his way.

When his momentum slowed down once more, Cris slowly got back onto his feet and got his bearings before taking off running again. His aim now was to get past Summer. Despite the sweet smell of someone barbecuing and the scent of coconut oil and sun tan, Cris longed for the cooler temperature of Fall.

He could see he was returning to where he had originally started. Pushing down against the costume and running full tilt, Cris finished his orbit around the sun, but kept on running forwards.

Cooler air...cooler air.

This planet was going to need some SERIOUS disinfectant when she was done with it. All that sneezing was SURE to spread germs and Maddie was just glad the allergy feelings were only temporary. They WERE temporary, right? She didn't even NORMALLY have allergies like this but she figured the SPRING senses were on overdrive in this planet thing so she had her fingers crossed. Y'know, metaphorically speaking.

The first year stood up once she stopped rolling and tried to get a feel for where in the classroom she was. The pendulum had got her good and she felt a BIT disheveled but not all together discouraged. She was going to finish strong! She was also getting REALLY hot all of the sudden. Warmer than before which was a clue that things were a-changing. AND where there had been the smell of flowers BEFORE, now there was a smell of freshly mowed grass! It was sort of lovely, actually. She preferred this over the other smell VERY much.

And off she went again, back into the path of orbiting planets. She was moving slower this time around BUT she had a reason for it. She figured she could control herself better this way and wait for the perfect moment to bypass the pendulum. Or that HAD been her plan until she heard Professor Top Hat calling out a warning. Oh. OH. He was playing TOO? Maddie's eyes widened and she picked up the pace a bit. She figured the BIGGER you were, the EASIER it was for you to roll right over your fellow planets.

Pendulum Dodgeball.......OK, this was going to be very interesting. When Jasmine saw the bubble planet costumes they would be wearing, it became even more interesting. Always game for an adventure, Jasmine put on her costume and planned her strategy.

Jasmine watched the movement of the pendulum for a moment, trying to figure out the timing of her movements. Her concentration was broken by some falling leaves in various colors that began to swirl around her "planet". Not only that, but she felt the occasional acorn that bounced off her head on more than one occasion.

Returning her focus to the pendulum, Jasmine waited until she thought the moment was just right to make her move. Taking off in the counterclockwise direction, she realized that this was not going to be easy. Move, stop, move, dodge, avoid classmate, move again. This was exhausting and Jasmine was only on her first lap. It was not exactly easy to move around in this planet ball costume.

Jasmine had made it half way around the "sun" when she misjudged the pendulum and BOOM, student down. She had been knocked sideways, stumbling and falling to her knees. Not fun. Determined not to repeat her mistake, Jasmine scrambled up and continued on her way. More ducking and dodging was in store for her until......she finally made it to her starting point and watched as the season began to change inside her costume.

After being sent through the blinding mass of "Sun" and coming up on the other side the thunderstorm finally stopped. But then the wind started. Tora had finally figured it out: her ball of planet was oddly charmed for the Southern Hemisphere. It made perfect sense, in the Autumn section she had experienced massive rainstorms and intense humidity, in the Spring section she was experiencing intense winds. The only problem now was moving when those winds literally kept you in one place. The fourth year strained against the headwind, trying to move her feet. She knew the pendulum would hit her on the back swing again if she didn't move soon and sure enough-

BAM! she braced herself right before she was sent flying back across the room to land in "Autumn". She didn't even wait for the rain to start, she just scrambled out of the way so she wouldn't get hit again. Now in relative safety, she noticed the suspiciously Northern Hemisphere Autumn- like climate. It was chilly, and a light breeze was blowing through her hair. Nothing like the wind that swirled around her only moments before in the other Autumn. Hm. She certainly liked this one better!

Tora grinned and experimented maneuvering around so she would be a pro when the time came to start avoiding other students. There she was, practicing, when all of the sudden, something hard plopped on the top of her head. OW! she shouted as she snapped her head to look up. All she saw the the top of the clear planet. But there was something at her feet... An apple? She felt another thing hit her back as she bent down to pick up the fruit. She looked up again and saw tons of apples "growing" from the clear top and-

Badadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadada

"EEEEEEEPP!" Tora flailed as she was pounded with at least a hundred apples. None of them actually hurt her, they just came as a surprise and she was soon standing knee deep in the things. Luckily, there weren't any more or she wouldn't be able to move through them and get her ball rolling. Tora had decided that the sooner she got out of this season, the better. It was only trouble. Wind or covered in apples? She didn't know which one was worse! At least she could move (sorta) with the apples verse not being able to move at all with the wind.

No sooner had she thought this than when the apples suddenly disappeared and her feet and hands started sticking to the walls of the ball. It smelled sweet, could it be? The Ravenclaw brought her finger up to her mouth and licked off a drop of the sticky substance. Maple sap?! What next?!

Snow was EVERYWHERE and it was even messing up his hair which made him just shake and let the snow from his hair fall everywhere, get out out out. no. He was still shivering and rubbing his arms from the cold as he tried to see who he bumped into.. he saw... waving... and.. that was all he could make out. squinting he waved back as he just went for it and bolted forward and around said person to spring.. SPRIIING!!!

"No More Cold!" and diving was happening as he leapt forward and he was hit with the pendulum and went FLYING into spring rather than diving.. "Leaping wizards Chess!!" Weeeee!!!!

Suddenly the snow was gone and there was a blanket of grass and a cool breeze and an amazing smell of fresh cut lawn after a rain shower.. ugh.. pretty.

Bay was so happy that he was in summer now.. he spotted a lake… while running past it.. why couldn't he just jump in for a swim? that would just be amazing. Still looking around at everyone having fun in the sun he kept a watchful eye out for the swingy thing.

He could see the end, or when the next season started and where he began. Running faster now he started to get out of breath. Panting and sweating like crazy he wish he had some shorts and proper running shoes on.

ALMOST THERE! he kicked it into high gear as he made it to the end all out of breath and really wanting some water.. "Pr….Proo….Sir…..w..whhh…watt….ddoo….i…d…too…nooww w.." his speech was all staggered due to him trying to catch his breath again… but all he could think about was "WATER"

Nigel was only fast when it was a matter of importance. Like his girlfriend calling him over or the last bag of fizzing whizbees at the store. Other than that and a couple others he was forgetting. He just took his time on things. No rush.

This reason alone is why the pendulum hit him.....

Well that and he hardly cared to outrun it. Not like a bludger was going to hit him in the face on anything. At least it did not hit him back to the beginning. Bouncing around the room got old really fast and thank Merlin. Nigel did not get motion sickness or this would be a disaster.

Though this got Nigel wondering. If the pendulum is swinging back and forth could you time it so it does the work for you. But that was too much effort.

And it was becoming too much effort to avoid his classmates. Merlin talk about lousy drivers and Nigel being lazy today.

HE WAS A PLANET!

Jun tried to hide his actual excitement from wearing the costume and bumping into people with permission. He waddled, trying to keep his balance. Jun walked in a circle, careful to miss the pendulum and not having to start all over. His orb had started making him feel cold and he could see colorful leaves falling. Hey, hey, it was his favorite season! Jun kept his eye on the pendulum and noticed something. That thing started to move faster.

NOPE.
NOPE.
NOPE.

He scurried his feet to move out the way, but the pendulum barely caught his ankle. But at least it was his good one. Is this what short people felt like?! Barely being able to get out of the way of things coming at them fast? Thank Merlin the boy was never too short, Like Char. Phew. Onto the next season now.

Caleb was getting into a good rhythm, able to dodge the pendulum and still complete his orbits. He was running fast too, trying to warm it up in here because it was still a snow globe in his little orb thing. As he moved, the snow was starting to melt, and he was expecting flowers or something to start sprouting up around his feet.

Nope. No flowers. Instead, it starting RAINING. April showers. Of course, that was just his luck.

Distracted by the downpour that was now starting to get in his eyes, he forgot about the pendulum for a second and suddenly - WHAM! He felt like a broom had smacked right into him and he was thrown against the wall, water swirling all around him and getting in his mouth and making him choke.

He hoped no one was in the path of his orb as he flew through the air...

And then things started getting cold. ICE cold.

His breath started to fog up in front of him, causing him to reach over and wipe the bubble in front of his eyes. Needed to see and all that. Breathing was starting to become difficult; he could feel the cold air fill up in his lungs as he continued jogging onwards. Merlin, he hasn't signed up for THIS. The winter months were the worst and always reminded the boy that the days were shorter and there was hardly anything to do because going out in the cold was too much of a hassle. Now, this could be added to the list. Never again was he going to go jogging in this weather. MERLIN.

And to think he had thought that this was fun.

Except it was. It still was. He was just freaking freezing and he'd rather be sitting down somewhere than having to run in these conditions. The sound of the crunching of the leaves was soon replaced by the sound of his feet crunching on snow. Pity they couldn't have a snowball fight. That was the ONLY decent thing about winter. The satisfaction that came from hitting someone with a snowball was great.

And then the snow turned to slush. YUCK!

Grayson scowled as he looked down at his feet. Jeez, seriously? The middle part of the bubble had slushy, brown snow that was turning to ice the more and more he stepped on it. Merlin, this was going to be long. And he was going to FALL. Unless.........

................ his blue eyes landed on the side of the bubble. And he smirked. That part was still snowy and if he stepped there, he have less of a chance of falling over and making a fool of himself. Still jogging, the fourth year changed the direction of his jogging until he was more or less stepping on the more snowier parts.

And the ball? The ball was rolling off to the side and closer and closer to the barrier. Not that Grayson knew, thanks to the condensation on the surface of his bubble.

LOL. He was in trouble.

ACHOO!!ACHOO!! ACHOO!!!.

He even saw some grass growing in his ball. Welp....I guess spring time was here. He even saw the snow melting around his feet and saw flowers spring up from the ground. He thought he heard birds chirping but that could be from the outside. But still his allergies were getting to him. He even felt rain coming down and then it became a downpour! He couldn't even see!

He was trying to run away but then he bumped into someone AGAIN! He wondered who could it be. He saw it was a slytherin.

Getting to her feet again, Lux was not pleased that she was soaked. Stupid rain, and it was still falling.

Sighing, she took her hoodie off and held it over her head as a make-shift umbrella. There, she would do okay in her t-shirt. And as a plus, this would help her out when she hit summer with its heat. Not that she had a huge people with heart, but hoodies weren't the best thing to wear when it was hot.

Making another run for it, Lux managed to avoid slipping again and made her way past the pendulum. This was three of the four months done. Awesome.

Only on occasion were Flamsteed's theatrics a little underwhelming, so she shouldn't have been surprised when super cool things happened. Like now, when he made a BUNCH of cool things happen around the room that led to a pendulum hanging in the center of the classroom. Sophie approved, and she would've clapped for him if it had been appropriate. But, y'know, no one else was clapping, so she resisted. She appreciated the man's pizzazz, though.

Upon standing, Sophie instinctively moved toward Tobes, still intently listening to directions. Huh. It was a cool concept - and even cooler was the bubble they got to be in. Ha! They were so big, though - how were they going to navigate without bumping into each other? But... one full circle around the "sun" sounded totally easy, right?

The third year hung back in her own little bubble, letting the eager ones take off and try their hand at avoiding the pendulum and each other. They were all bouncing into each other and some were bouncing all the way back to where she was - to be honest, it was pretty good entertainment. She'd rather stay standing off next to the barrier than jump in and get whacked into by some careless first years.

...Or Flamsteed, for that matter, as the man had just taken off like a lunatic. He seemed to be enjoying himself, though, and Sophie laughed, following off to the side of the man's path and giggling while the wind picked up and crisp red and yellow leaves fell over her. It even smelled like autumn. Ugh. Too cool. She was just walking for now, side-eyeing the pendulum's motion, and when it came around, she side-stepped out of the way quickly - only to narrowly avoid bumping into someone, which made her pick up her speed to a light jog, her hands out in front of her to steady herself as she got used to running in the bubble.

Just then, the wind picked up and someone right in front of her got slammed into by someone - or something - and went flying right toward her, and she got bumped and sent toward the barrier - she ran with the groove of the costume, though, and didn't completely fall over and make herself look like a fool. She was totally in control.

...For now, she took the outside route near the barrier and used the windy autumn weather inside her bubble to motivate her to get to winter.
