Hopefully his students would appreciate it.
OH LOOK! Here they were coming now! Quote:

Were they poor again?! "Good evening, Miss Wayne," he smiled at the Slytherin. "Something the matter?" What was she giving him looks for? Quote:

Seeing Sophie try to take a seat only to slide down to the floor, Lux decided to stay standing for the moment. Yes, that seemed like a better idea than falling on her butt. "Hello, Miss Carrington! I did indeed, but it is good to be back at Hogwarts." Even if he was eager to get back out into the field for more research. Would have to wait until the holidays, alas. Quote:

Now the boy was iffy about sitting on the chairs. But he didn't want to sit on the ground either or stand. Oh, look who it was. Mr. Not-a-Boy-Toy. Unintentional one, but a gift nonetheless. Quote:

The littlest growth was something to be proud of. Hopefully someone would actually notice. "It feels stellar, thank you for asking, Miss Winters," he grinned. Just like what he did with Professor Culloden earlier. He picked a seat, sat on it and…whoa…why was he tilting? *THUD* “I’m okay!” Ethan called out as he quickly got up from his spot and gave his chair and table a stink-eye. Yeah. So much for a good first day in Hogwarts. Like this one.
Airey snorted softly and chewed on his lip to stop himself from noticeably laughing. "Good evening." Quote:

Maybe he should have thought this through a bit more. Cece would have his head if he sent half the class to the Hospital Wing. Quote:

Hang on. Was that...Alexa squinted at the object next to the lamp. A quaffle? "That's just hurtful." And the wide grinning only continued as Miss Cambridge entered the classroom. Before she sat down she put her bag on the floor and pulled out two books. She slid them under the two uneven legs of Lou desk. "There you go. Then she done the exact same with hers. Good thing she had enough books for them. She sat down in her seat. It was still wobbly but she wasn't falling out anytime soon. Or so she hoped. "Good evening, Miss Bayless," he beamed at the Gryffindor. Another fine addition to the house. He was pleased.
"If the librarian hears you were using books in that way it is likely to make him lose all his hair," he pointed out. She hadn't used her Astronomy text, had she? As long as that wasn't there he didn't really mind personally. Or a science fiction novel. Quote:

WIDE SMILES FOR AIREY FLAMSTEED, as usual. And a wink, cuz why not? It was the start of the term. "Hi, Professor!" Forever content about coming to Astronomy, never mind all those stairs... after five years, it was good exercise, anyway. "I trust everything is well," she commented, still smiling, as she walked towards Lex. Everything ought to be well, look at him giving salutes to everyone. Chuckling, Airey saluted back rather than winked at the Hogwartian. "Evening, Miss Wisteria. Everything is stellar." Quote:

He took a seat, across from the cute little Hufflepuff and balanced upon the surface of their circled desks. He let his eyes wonder until they landed upon the steampunky lamp. Oooh! Cutty rather liked the spidery legs. Ah yes. This boy. Airey would be keeping two eyes on him constantly - figuratively speaking anyway - throughout the term. Just in case another Polyjuice Potion mishap were to occur. Again. "Evening, Mr. Mordaunt." Quote:

Yep, okay. Staying here. Her books could be a makeshift desk. "Hello, Professor Flamsteed." Oops. Another one down. And staying down. Merlin he hadn't adjusted the legs THAT much.
"Evening." Quote:

Mel, of course, wasn't going to go to sleep, but just wanted to rest her eyes while the other students come in and stuff. And it looked like Miss Sönmez was about to drop too...for different reasons. Because hugs were amazing and everyone wanted them yes? Even professors who may or may not be a little bit touchy about personal space. Ana squeezed slightly before letting go, smoothing out a few wrinkles in Airey's suit, because politeness and continued to bounce towards a desk. Nothing could ruin her good mood. If you only know how awkward it is to stand in the middle of a classroom doing nothing. "Good evening, Miss Abbot," he beamed. "Pleasure." And she got a little extra nod of the head for the hat compliment. Quote:

Removing his wand from his enchanted breast pocket, Airey gave it a flick towards the door to shut it and then walked to the center of the space between his desk and the semicircle of desks.
"If everyone could please setting down IN your seats as best as possible we will begin. Not to worry, your chairs are not broken and this was done to them intentionally," he announced after clapping his hands together twice to get everyone's attention over their private conversations. No floor sitting. Desks were there to be used. Not a decoration. "Good evening and welcome back to Astronomy. Just another reminder to never, and I mean NEVER, get this noble subject confused with Astrology." Especially now that that woman was handing out rubbish horoscopes left and right. Sweet solstice. No pressure, right?
"Please raise your hand and tell me what is your favorite season and why?" OOC: This lesson has officially started! Please do not post your character arriving now or else risk loss of house points for your house or some other punishment that Professor Flamsteed feels is appropriate. If you are joining us now, please just pretend as though your character has been here all along!
Class will resume approximately 18 hours from the time of this post.
