The brilliant colors of the sunset have been painted over by the mystical navy blue of the night sky and as you enter the Astronomy classroom you can see the moon clearly through one of the many windows. The desks are arranged in their usual semi circle to help created a more personal environment, only something seems a bit off as you go to sit down. Both the desk and chair wobble as the legs on one side are longer than the other and cause you to lean quite a bit. Try not to fall out of your seat or have your things fall to the floor, yes?
Did you remember to use the lint roller on the small table outside of the classroom? It was there next to the sign that reads, "Not to be used as a brush for your hair."
A lamp, a quaffle, and 3 can lids painted black rest in the middle of the professor's desk. Professor Flamsteed, wearing the same top hat you may have spotted him with at the Opening Feast, can be seen standing to the right of his desk with a giddy expression on his face and offers you a salute as you move to take your seat.
So come on in and have a seat. Class will begin shortly.

"Good evening, Miss Bayless," he beamed at the Gryffindor. Another fine addition to the house. He was pleased.
"If the librarian hears you were using books in that way it is likely to make him lose all his hair," he pointed out. She hadn't used her Astronomy text, had she? As long as that wasn't there he didn't really mind personally. Or a science fiction novel.
"If everyone could please setting down IN your seats as best as possible we will begin. Not to worry, your chairs are not broken and this was done to them intentionally," he announced after clapping his hands together twice to get everyone's attention over their private conversations. No floor sitting. Desks were there to be used. Not a decoration. "Good evening and welcome back to Astronomy. Just another reminder to never, and I mean NEVER, get this noble subject confused with Astrology." Especially now that that woman was handing out rubbish horoscopes left and right. Sweet solstice. "We will be staying close to home this lesson as we explore the cosmos as we attempt to understand the role and function that the Earth serves in the cosmic machine that is the universe. I would like to start off today's lesson with a rather broad question and one that you all should have no trouble in answering."
No pressure, right?
"Please raise your hand and tell me what is your favorite season and why?"
OOC: This lesson has officially started! Please do not post your character arriving now or else risk loss of house points for your house or some other punishment that Professor Flamsteed feels is appropriate. If you are joining us now, please just pretend as though your character has been here all along!
Class will resume approximately 18 hours from the time of this post.
Librarian? Did it look like she had stepped foot in a library? Oh no. Not here. Not yet anyway. She laughed "oh no professor these aren't books from the library." She would hate to be the reason for someone's baldness.
She listened to Flamsteed as he started the lesson. So they were talking about what now? She had no idea what the professor was talking about. Cosmos? Cosmic machine? Her nana had not taught her any of that. Well maybe cosmos.
Well she can answer that question now. Her favorite season was "Summer of course. I love being outdoors and summer is the best season to be outside." of course she raised her hand before she spoke. That was one thing he'd have to get used to. Raising her hand. Homeschoolers don't really do that especially if they are the only one.

Like a good little student, Coral-Bay had used the lint roller when she had arrived along with the rest of the class, but now that she was sitting in her seat... she was more and more uncertain as to whether or not she should be giving this teacher all of this respect.
The furniture was wobbly.
CB couldn't STAND wobbly chairs. She shifted her weight back and forth, with furrowed brows, trying to get a happy medium. After several moments, she achieved it but it didn't last. Obviously. She was a little too focused on this to notice when the professor had started class. But suddenly hands were shooting up all around her and everyone was sharing something. Temporarily giving up the idea of the chair being perfectly leveled, she lifted her head up, tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and glanced around the room as people started answering, slowly putting together the question that the professor had asked.
Favorite season? Well that was easy.
Coral lifted her hand slowly and waited to be called on.
"I'm personally partial to Autumn. I love it when the leaves change colors and fall. It's practically the perfect temperature too; not too cold, not too warm. Kinda like spring in that way too." And the crinkly leaves! The sound they made was quite possibly her favorite sound ever. A nice crackly crumple.

Checking to make sure the chalk board was clean, Airey gave his wand a flick to charm the chalk to write down answered and any additional tidbits students shared.

"Make sure you put that somewhere where it won't get broken. I suggest your bag and not on your person."

And it was best for flying, but........... he didn't want to say that out loud, because of reasons. But yes, mainly... it was the sun. Toby liked the sun a whole lot. "Summer means we see more of the sun, and the sun is usually seen as positive, which is probably why I like it."
Smirking a little at the boy's excitement about pogo - had he figured things out yet? - he nodded and added a little tally mark just below the word summer.
"We can certainly feel more of the Sun," he said with a small chuckle before moving on.

Another one for Team Summer it seemed. Smiling as another mark appeared below summer, the astronomer began choking on air when she explained her reason. "Ahem, ah, ahem, yes, well, interesting reasoning, Miss Cooper."
Moving on now....

And he meant proper summer, by the way.
Up went another tally mark below summer.
And he liked it because he could wear sunglasses outside. Er. Interesting. Seemed a very fashion oriented young man judging from his response. Wearing a uniform probably drove him mad. It had the professor when he was a student.
"Thank you for sharing, Mr. Whitlock."

Surprise surprise. SUMMER!
He did raise his eyebrow slightly at the no school comment. He was a professor after all, slight bias towards this sort of thing.

Smiling at the Hufflepuff, he made sure another tally was added to the board before he move along.

Plus it was Christmas, not that he was superficial about gifts but he enjoyed the company of his family. "And everything seems a lot more relaxed during the cold weather" You could sit inside under your duvet and not be considered lazy.
Giving the Slytherin a nod, Airey checked that the chalk was still doing it's job. Relaxed in winter was an interesting observation.

"It can still rain in summer, Mr. Mordaunt," he pointed out. Airey rather enjoyed the summer rains. Didn't quite chill you to the bone like those in winter tended to. "I've never tried this skateboard that you speak of, but it sounds quite fascinating."
SPOILER!!: the hugging Slytherin

"Because I like hugs and I felt like it," Ana told him with a shrug, trying her best to still sound respectful, even if her words alone may have seemed a tad disrespectful. Also, he looked like he could use a few more hugs but she wasn't going to tell him that.
Wait. The seats and desks were deliberately like this? Why would someone d that??? Sitting like this was difficult. Although it could be worse and they could have to sit on the floor. Which would suck. And class was starting now. With a really easy question too.
Ana raised her hand before giving her answer to the question. "I've always liked Winter. On the most simplistic level because it reminds me of home and my childhood. Whenever Winter comes I can't help but recall memories of drinking Sbiten at my babushkas' home. It is also a time of peace and merry what with Christmas, New Years Holiday, the Theophany of the Lord etcetera," Ana explained, listing some of the holidays she'd celebrated ever since she was a tiny child. "There's also beauty to be found in the ice and snow and I find hope, since no matter how cold and bleak things can sometimes appear in Winter there is the knowledge that following death everything will be reborn come the Spring." Was that a good answer? Even if it wasn't exactly what was expected it was what Ana felt about Winter.
Putting her hand down Ana simply listened as her peers gave their answers to the question. She didn't think that there was any need to start recording answers at this stage.
Because she wanted to. Right then. This was just...awkward.
"While I am sure others appreciate such public displays of affection, I would prefer that they remain something not done in my classroom. Especially to me." He had to keep a professional environment after all, with the one exception being graduating seventh years on the final lesson of the term. But even then he was really just throwing them a bone because they had asked first. "Two points from Slytherin, as a reminder for how to handle future hugging urges."
And now he was going to awkwardly sidestep awaaaaaaaaay...
He gave her an bright smile and encouraging nod for her answer though. Yes. Thank you.
No hugs.

Not surprised that once again Mr. Stark was choosing not to answer and giving him sour looks, Airey simply passed over the Slytherin.

Because it's not too and and not too cold. What kind of answer was that!? Everyone's going to think he's a dumb little firstie. Ugh. Way to start the year off right. Zander.
"Thank you for sharing, Mr. Adair," he smiled encouragingly at the Gryffindor. Another tally mark went up for spring.

In California, spring was no big deal to her. the weather was always nice. Now that she had lived in other places, ones with real winters, she appreciated spring even more.

Slight almost smirk.
Followed by throat clearing.
"What I mean is, I prefer the winter season compared to the other ones Mr. Flamsteed because I can go skiing, read a book in front of the fireplace, enjoy my mother's homemade cocoa and all those kind of cheesy things." Better answer, right?

And another student for summer. Airey nodded towards Miss Starr, including her vote in the tally, and then move on to the next student.

Blink. Stare. Blink.
Was this Gryffindor really just walking in late to his lesson? Stare. Adding her tally to summer, he loomed over the young lady and stared some more. "Care to explain why you arrived late?"

Easy answer for Nigel. "Summer because i can surf and enjoy the beach"
Now time to think of puns
Surfing...now there was something he hadn't tried either. Wonder if they could charm the Black Lake some how to get that to work....or tempt the Giant Squid into making waves for them....
Wait, what? Or right, adding Mr. Barrington to the tally now.

Merlin students seemed to like the beach. Airey didn't hate it, per say, but he was of the sort that tended to get sunburned easily - seeing as he was rather pasty and had sensitive skin. "Thank you, Mr. Walker."

That was it though. She didn't really have a favourite season but since they were being asked to choose, this one had a bit of advantage on the others.
Ice cream.
Airey shuddered and took a rather large step back at the mention of the word. Still not a fan of ice cream. "Some would say it was socially acceptable to have ice cream year round," he replied with a slightly raised eyebrow. Like...oh...whoever it was that had tampered with the ice cream and nearly killed everyone in the school because of dementor attacks.

She got to go back to New York for July and spend time with her dad and her siblings, and eat hot dogs, and watch baseball games, and the FIREWORKS! It was the most exciting holiday ever.
"'Cause that's a holiday where I'm from," she explained. In case they didn't know. Which some of them probably didn't. America's Independence, as it turned out, was not as important to British people as it was to American people. Even less important to British wizards.
"We have a fourth of July here as well," Airey nodded with a bit of a smug look on his face. Well, they DID you know. Came right after the third and before the fifth. HEHE. He made himself laugh. HEHE.

Ah yes, the leaves changing colors. A time Airey, and several others it seemed, quite enjoyed. Especially leaf piles. Those were lots of fun. The professor had just added the boy's tally to the board and was about to move on when...............oh he wasn't done yet. Okay then.
"We are quite lucky when we can see the Aurora Borealis here at Hogwarts," he nodded. Pity the school wasn't located further north so they could see it more often. "Typically the closest the Lights usually gets to Britain with any intensity is northern Scandinavia. However, my mate Northumberland has told me he has seen it from his home as well." Just....rare. VERY rare. Perhaps a field trip in the future to be able to see it properly. You know, just zap on up to the North Pole.

Well someone was in a bad mood. Although it more amused the astronomer than anything else. Gryffindor hissy fits were the most amusing, honestly.
"Thank you, Mr. Hirase," he said, giving the boy an extra cheeky grin.
And yes, he was mocking you. Heh.

Ice cream again. Merlin. No.

It's also the time when the leaves start to change color, and it always reminds me that not all beauty needs magic. Things can be changed and created on their own, without the help of wands."
That was poetic... right?
"Stellar sentiments, Mr. Moore," Airey said, clapping his hands together twice loudly. Not all beauty needs magic. Brilliantly put! Astronomy was a science that illustrated this point ten times over and then some. Had any of these students looked at images of galaxies and nebulas? Meeeeeeeeeeeeeerlin that was something. "That could very well be Astronomy's slogan. Take two points for your answer."
And he was going to put that somewhere in his office.
Astronomy: not all beauty needs magic.

That was his answer.
Oh LOOK there was Ezra! And that girl. Macking...what?
Chicken-Leg-Boy was certainly enthusiastic about winter, and Airey grinned at the mention of snowball fights. "Thank you, Mr. Scabior," he nodded, that connection to a former colleague still not entirely firing in his brain just yet. "Perhaps come winter time we should have a snowball fight on the grounds?" His blue eyes darted towards Mr. Rehman as well.

Ah yes, baby animals. How sentimental or something. While Airey was not of the same mind about being so excited for more furry creatures being brought into the world, her answer was appreciated nonetheless.

"Ah," he said simply as he walked backwards towards his desk and stood in front of the quaffle to block it from view.

Well she can answer that question now. Her favorite season was "Summer of course. I love being outdoors and summer is the best season to be outside." of course she raised her hand before she spoke. That was one thing he'd have to get used to. Raising her hand. Homeschoolers don't really do that especially if they are the only one.
"Ah, but I don't think that will matter to the man," he chuckled. He could also smell a prank brewing. Heh.
Nodding as she answered, he turned his attention towards the board and ensure her tally mark was there. YEP!

"Indeed it is," he chuckled.
Looking around the classroom for more raised hands, and seeing none, he gave a quick glance towards the board and then returned his attention to the semi circle of desks.
"As you can see, you and your classmates share varied opinions on what season they deem their favorite. Now, some scientific studies suggest that this varied opinion is based on the evolution of humanity itself in which all knowledge and instinct passed down from our ancestors about surviving in different climates and how each of these climates is significant." Nice story. They could choose to believe that if they wanted to. "Seasons is a term that is thrown about quite a bit in language, as Mr. Odessa illustrated, and does not always associate with the four seasons of autumn, winter, spring, and fall."
But enough about that. On to the real meat of the matter.
"Every planet in our solar system has seasons and most have the same four seasons that we do here on earth. It should be noted, however, that the only real similarity between the planets' seasons is the name. On Saturn, for example, a season can last for 7 years and on Neptune more than 40 years whereas on Mercury you wouldn't even be able to tell when one season ends and the next begins." And no, Mr. Tempus. Pluto was not included in this thought because it was NOT a planet. "When it comes to the Earth, these four seasons are vital to life on Earth and they effect the way EVERYTHING grows. Now, as most of you indicated in your answer, the key difference between these seasons is a climate change. This is something that our ancient ancestors noticed as well. More specifically, they realized that there were four seasons that occurred every three moon cycles and that creates 12 months which makes one year!"
WASN'T THAT FASCINATING?! THEY DISCOVERED THIS! SIMPLY BY LOOKING UP! IT WAS BLOODY FASCINATING AND THE PROFESSOR WAS FLAPPING HIS ARMS WITH EXCITEMENT!
Ahem. Anyway. Back to getting into the real meat of the lesson here...oh...meat...food...NO! Teaching.
"Now, the reason why the Earth's seasons occur as they do, two reasons really, but I am looking for one in particular," he smirked as he lowered his top had a little more to one side and gave a knowing look at their desks. Since they all seemed to be having some issues with the quaffle being there, he might need to make a sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiight adjustment to how this lesson would be done today. Might be more entertaining for him with this new plan that was festering in his head anyway. Heh. "So." Serious game face time. "In four words or less, five if you must, who can tell me why the Earth has seasons?"
And in case they were not aware of it already, he had given them a very large hint already. Two very large hints really. Heh.

The answers continued to be quite varied but truly it was an opinion question and everyone was entitled to their own. Watching the tally going on the board under each of the seasons, the boy almost missed the slip into the next frame of thought brought up by Flamsteed. Benny knew this though the stipulation on the answer threw him and the third year tried to process it, finally raising his hand.
"Because of the earth's orbit." That was five which was an option and the only way Ben could think of wording it. During the course of the year and the path of its orbit around the sun, the earth was closer or further away from the star and thus warmer or cooler which helped create the seasons.
*With a hand shooting into the air Romulus let out his answer with a big smile. He had just read a book about space and the planets over the summer holidays. What luck that I read that book! He thought to himself.*
"Earth spins on an axis."
*Four words or less? Well that didn't happen. He could have gone on for a good hour about why the Earth had seasons.*
Four words or less? Well... what, no... why? Toby LIKED USING WORDS.
He scrunched up his nose slightly and sat and thought for a moment, trying to force himself not to ramble in his head. Gosh. It was hard to like, not talk a lot. Or give both answers. Toby did pick one though, and mentally chopped little bits of the answer off until he was left with what he hoped was the bare bones of it.
"Distance. From the sun."
Four words.

In four words or less? Five if they must? But...but...
Sophie knew the answer, but trying to condense it into five words or less was the hard part. She sat there saying the answer over and over in head trying to figure out a different way of saying it.
She cautiously raised her hand. Why does the Earth have seasons? Because... "Axis...points...sun...or...away," she said. There. Five words. Did he get that? Was the answer in there somewhere? She eyed him but otherwise said nothing else. Word limit and all.

See? Even Professor agreed agreed with him on snow ball fights. Adi vaguely wondered if he threw some snowballs at the man one fine winter day without him knowing, how he would react. Hehe.
Adi was particularly fascinated at how long the seasons lasted on some planets. Couldn't they have so many years of winter on Earth, too? What fun that would be but unfortunately they all needed the sun to survive.
Okay, next question. Hadn't he heard this question before? Maybe it was on one of those many space shows he watched with his dad. The Puffer boy thought of his answer carefully before raising his hand. "Earth's axis is tilted, Professor.'' Four words. Okay five if you counted "Professor".

He'd SALUTED at her. Well HI there, 'fessor F. Thanks for the recognition. A round of applause would also be appreciated, but she wasn't too picky. He got a grin and a salute back because she was feeling pretty generous. And he was kind of her favourite 'fessor. Kind of. Maybe. Only if he kept saluting at her and left spaghetti on her grave if she ever died.
THEN. And only then.
But four words? Why were they only allowed four words when he had just used the same amount a dictionary held? Where was the fairness in that? WHERE WAS IT? Whatever though. She had four words for 'fessor F. To change my wardrobe. Those were her four words. She didn't say them out loud because she was supposed to be a seventh year and give good educated answers that she knew was right. Or something like that.
She was cool because the other kids, the rugrats, were answering anyway. Her answer had been better. And instead she moved one finger around in a circular motion and balled the other up into a fist. Her hand movements matched what people were saying.
Seasons still meant she got to change her wardrobe over though.
Had Hogwarts run out of money again? Donny looked around and saw that all of the chairs were wonky. He shrugged, maybe this was just Hogwarts being.. Hogwarts, that was a perfectly acceptable explanation too. Oh! Jun had remembered his nickname. He grinned and nodded, he still wasn't sure about these chairs. They looked kind of fun, actually... "Tie Dye! I don't know yet!" The chairs looked like they might be a lot of fun, the kind of fun that left you with a broken leg or something.
He was going to do it, Donny was going to sit down. Any broken limbs would just be a fun story.
The third year stretched his legs before sitting down next to Jun and tried not to stumble off. Were they allowed to glue themselves onto the chairs? "You didn't bring any glue, did you?" Or pillows to soften his landing. No? No?
Jun nodded. All these chairs were sketchy and more kept breaking. What a shame. At least the professor could reinforce all these chairs. Someone was bound to break a bone or two. Well, no. Just a lot of bumps and bruises. "Uh, no. But I'm sure there's a charm for glue," There was a charm for everything. Maybe he should conjure his textbook into a pillow and sit on that instead.

Nope.
Completely not what he meant. Airey had on straight inside while on his way to the loo. And after the little scene, he had gone right back into the Great Hall. But good to know, prof. But yeah, now to answer this question. Jun raised his hand slowly, trying to to make much movement on his chair and answered. "Autumn, because it's not hot and disgustingly humid. Plus, sweaters are always more comfortable to wear," And all the hats he managed to buy and wear more often.

Jun raised his hand again.
"A tilted axis," Simple. And to also took twelve months for the Earth to do so. Is that why the quaffle and lamp was needed? The lamp must be the sun and the quaffle the earth.

A 40 year long season? 40 years of suffering in the subarctic temperatures of winter, no thanks! Okay subarctic is a bit of an exaggeration, but still 40 whole years?!? No wonder life on Neptune hasn't been discovered yet. Who in there right mind would want to stay on a planet with a 40 year winter. Or summer for that matter. Ugh. That sounds awful.
As for the next question, Zander wasn't completely sure, but being adventurous he might as well give it a go. "Because the Earth is tilted! That was five? Oh- "Professor, Sir"- he added as an after thought. Zander's cheeks flushed pink and he slid slightly further down in his chair once more. Astronomy was actually kind of fun, but this Professor was having way too much fun.

Nigel listened to all the different answers because some were amusing. Like the first years talking about macking and Flamsteed getting awkward. Imagine him planking in the middle of class. and other hit sour spots. Like West's clever answer.
The Seventh Year listened on and zoned out as he talked seasons on different planets. It was mostly interesting. Uh Four/Five words or less. Now that is an interesting challenge....game thing. He wished some of the answers were clever and funny. Like to to change my clothes or something. Nigel probably would have said To change your suit. That sounded better.
But he was to preoccupied with puns. He was writing random ones on his parchemnt. For example. Whiteboards are remarkable and Its hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs, they always take things literally.
But his favorite one he had written down so far was How does NASA organize a birthday party?....They planet.
Classic.

Furiously jotting down notes, Lux tried to keep up with everything that Professor Flamsteed was teaching them. This man was so excitable; he was even flapping his arms. SNORT.
Raising her hand, she tried to answer the question in five words: "Earth has a tilted axis." That had to be it.

He eyed the small boy with the enthusiasm and wondered if he really was expecting an explanation about what macking was in this class. Pshh his prefects could explain it in detail. Heh. He eyed his friends at that thought and then returned his attention to the professor.
Why hadn't he used a muggle ball for the demonstration that was clearly about to take place? Normally Flammy was good on using muggle junk. He shrugged and listened to the information with the air of someone that knew it but didn't mind hearing it again.
Five if he must? He must. West put his hand up. "Tilted rotation effects exposure duration." One. Two. Three. Four. Five. And it rhymed. Just for you, Flammy.

Melek glanced at the professor and raised her hand, "Professor, it is because the earth is tilted on its axis as well as revolves around the sun, spinning and leaning... which is also why the two hemispheres have the opposite seasons at one moment, no?" She sighed, just wanting to go to bed. Mel eyed the professor then eyed her desk, debating on trying to sleep during the class but didnt want to risk losing points like she did last year but at least last year, it was because of a stupid professor.

FIVE words? WHAT in Merlin's trousers was the point of that other than to annoy all of them? Caleb's eyebrows wrinkled under his long hair in annoyance. Ok, so the reason they had seasons, in FIVE words or less...ugh...
Finally he thought he had an answer and he raised his hand. "The Earth circles the sun," he said. That wasn't enough to give a FULL answer though, much to his annoyance. He didn't even get to talk about the axis and stuff. That was the REAL reason, but he figured Flamsteed would get the gist of what he meant. Yeah?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He knew this one!!! this was an easy one if they were just talking about seasons and the earth's rotation. The gryffindor has read plenty of books on the subject and knew an interesting handful on information on the subject. Keeping his balance in check he reached out for his things as they began to slide slowly off his desk, whoops he supposed he should focus on his balance some.
His hand shooting in the air he tried to think of four or five words......... why the limit, professor!? ugh. "earth's spinning axis thing tilted." he indicated by pointing at the professors hat which he had tilted and Ohh that's what the line on the quaffle was huh? the earth's spin axis? was it!? was the quaffle a planet now? where they planets.. orr.. their desks? he wanted to know. why the exaggerated demonstration with the tilted desks and chairs?
he liked class.

Bay smiled as the Professor wrote down Spring, now came another question why did we have seasons, he took a few minutes to think about it before he answered.
Finally raising his hand he said "Professor, does it have to do where we are in earths rotation around the sun?" that could be a possibility right? he wasn't too sure but it was worth saying something then nothing at all.

“Weeeeell, I really wouldn’t consider it rain professor…” Ethan scratched his head and pondered whether he should debate his answer…but then again…SKATEBOARD. The third year shifted in his seat, tilting to another side as he beamed at the professor. “You should try it, Professor! I can teach you to ride it if you want.” Nods for you, Astronomy guy.
Now on to the next question. What causes seasons? Ethan pondered on this as he shifted his weight from side to side, causing him to tilt in different directions.
Oh heeey. Ethan counted with his fingers and raised his hand.
“The.Earth’s.Tilt.Causes.Seasons.” Five words right there! Hopefully he got the answer right, and not just the word count. Heh.

Professor called her inclusive. Marigold went all beamy on him before listening to his next question. Well, it had to happen because of earth's axis and orbit and the sub, but she had to say it in four or five words? Harsh, star man. She raised her hands and used her other hand to count the words on her fingers. "The earth - wait no, take back the 'the'. Earth spins around itself/sun." He totally wouldn't count the slash as a word, yeah?
He hand't been hiding from her, that was good to know. Wobbling a bit in her chair Beverly nodded to him in response with another small grin. Summer had been nice to her...well, the first half. And that was all that really mattered.
Listening intently to everything professor Airey said (when didn't she), Beverly jotted down what she thought the important points were. It only took a moment to word her answer for the question asked. She raised her hand.
Hope panicked...PANICKED! as she took a seat and a small squeak had escaped her as the chair wobbled unsteadily beneath her. As to the question of her favorite season she had chosen not to reply, after all, how could one chose a favorite from something that constantly changed. It was almost like asking her to choose her favorite food. Ask her one day and it may be fudge ask her on another day it could be fruit. It would be like in the summer she craved for the cool air of the fall, while in winter she begged for the heat of the sun and really....who even cared for spring what with it stirring up her allergies and making her miserable?
No. She didn't not have a favorite any season.
Hope shifted to raise her hand in the chair shook a little which caused her to squeak. "Errr...." What was the question? Ah yes....why is there seasons! "The Earth is WONKY!" Squeak! Yes! Four WORDS! Not a very scientific answer...but it met the word limit! "Kind of like this chair." Her hand had remained in the air and she shifted letting out another squeak. Could he please fix her chair...she really was beginning to panic a bit.

OK, question two was going to be a challenge. Why the earth has seasons in four words or less? Jasmine had to think about this one for a minute. Listening to the answers given by her classmates, she finally came up with her answer. Raising her hand tentatively, Jasmine offered her guess. " Poles tilt toward sun." There she took a shot at it. Now they all had to wait for the correct answer to be revealed.
