Early and first thing in the morning after breakfast was the best time for Ancient Runes, the students will have open fresh minds and full stomachs. The classroom was arranged traditionally, Ab made sure nothing was hazardous to the kids when he redecorated the room. The desks and chairs were neatly organized in parallel five rows, that's one side of the big classroom. As you walk through the door and to your left is the professor's desk and blackboard. Professor Botros is sitting on his chair writing something on a parchment.
For this lesson, there is a small pile of mysterious tools next to each desk, it hardly reaches up to your knees. A piece of cloth is draped over to conceal what's underneath it. "Do not touch the pile next to your seat" is written on the blackboard behind the professor. If you do try to remove it with your hand, you'll feel a slight pinch. Do not touch.
Greet your new teacher, take a seat, write your name and year on the piece of parchment set on your table, and wait for the lesson to start. Please stay quiet and do not speak.

Bliss was very pleased with how that lesson had turned out. It hard been very successful. One thing, she now understood Ancient Runes more than before and another, she...enjoyed it/them. She never thought that that would happen. Bliss couldn't wait to tell her family, they'd be so proud of her. Well, she hoped so. Actually, she decided that she'd send them a letter as soon as she escaped this classroom.
OH. They were free to go?
Bliss beamed at Professor Botros before speaking. "Thank you, thank you, for a wonderful lesson. I loved it!" She exclaimed, beaming even brighter. She quickly put away her runic wand, picked up her bag and headed for the door, with her special little pendant swinging from her neck. "Goodbye," she chirped before exiting the classroom.

"Okay, everyone, put your hammers down if you haven't already and listen to me carefully." He let go of his cane, putting all his wait on the desk behind him, and clapped to get their attention. "As you can see there is a small pendant of Thor's hammer inside each one of those wooden boxes." He was pretty proud of this one. "Those pendants are not just jewelry to help you look good--" He obviously thought they were so. "--but also runic charms to help you concentrate on your study. If you flip it around, you'll notice three Runes carved on the back; Sowilo, Fehu, and Jera." He paused allowing them to look at it more carefully.
"This is also a runic charm for success, it doesn't magically make you score O's in your studies, or help you win quidditch matches." That was Felix Felicis. "It helps you be at peace with your efforts when you venture a new step in your life." He smiled and expected everyone to be as impressed with how runes work as he was.
Grabbing the cane and moving around to sit back on his chair finally, Botros continued, "As of this moment, class is done." He tapped the blackboard behind him.
"Your homework will go up on the noticeboard tomorrow, don't forget we're going to listen to Prefect--" Uhh.. "--Hufflepuff." Nod at the male one. "Doing a representation of Odin's story next class. If you have any questions, at all, drop by my office or see me at the workshop." Was there something else he wanted to say? Uhh.. uh.. "Have a nice afternoon." They can go now.
Sarah was glad about her gift - she lovedf gifts. She never believed in these things, yet why not. She was glad she got to keep the box as well, she put the pendant back in the box.. she needed to found out how to wear that thing. "Thank you professor for the lesson and the gift" she said. She then gathered her things, placed them together with her box in her satchel and left the classroom.

Wasn't this an interesting lesson. Not the beginning of it of course...Because Cassia didn't very much enjoy the theoretical part but it was good to know about this Thor dude. He seemed cool and defiant. Cassia wondered if he would've been a Slytherin...Hadn't he been a god and stuff o'course. However, the activity was so fun! Saying those..weird stuff and smashing with a mighty hammer! Wow! Cassia got to give it to the old man. He knew how to make a class interesting. And nut just that! They got a piece of jewelry. The thirteen years old was so glad about this pendants were so cool. And the professor said something about their runic importance..Ehh...Didn't matter much besides Cassia would wear it even if they had no importance to them.
After gathering her stuff, Cassia slung her bag over her shoulder and headed towards the door. But before reaching it she stepped by where the Professor was standing/sitting. "Thank you professor! It was an interesting activity!" She beamed at him. She wasn't gonna lie the first half of the lesson didn't interest her. And there was the fact that she kinda fell asleep. But the man made up for that didn't he.

West pocketed his pendant, figuring he'd probably find some use for it at some point, and then he finished writing down his notes. Yeahhh! Awesome stuff. He also picked up the broken bits of box and carefully put them aside for easy removal or whatever... and then snorted in amusement, very Dylan-like, hearing that one Hufflepuff offer to help clean up. He totally bet she just wanted points.
What WEST wanted was some ANSWERS cos he had QUESTIONSSSS.
Drop by the office or workshop? He spoke up.
"Is that now professor? For questions? The workshop or your office I mean? On account of, I have a LOT." A numbered list was PROBABLY in order.

The lesson ended a lot sooner then Oichi thought it would. She had just finished smashing her metal chest wide open and still was on an extreme high. Well atleast she got to leave happy. "This lesson was awesome professor, thanks for putting something so cool in the first lesson of the term!!!", and with that Oichi turned and left the classroom off to wherever elated with joy.
... oh, right! He knew he was forgetting something. "Please drop your runic wand in the basket on your way out." Increase the dose of memory potion, Ab.
Smiling, nodding and sometimes patting the little kids as they passed him on their way out, Botros was proud of all of those who gave this subject a chance and proved to have potential.

Well, someone was so eager with runes today, wasn't there? It gave Ab hope that next generation was not as vain in runes as his wife used to think. He should tell her that soon.
"I appreciate your enthusiasm, my boy. I will open the workshop as soon as I clean this room up." He tried to estimate the time cleaning up, having his meds and feeding Feo would take. "You can come over after two hours. Maybe earlier if you take my Crup on a walk for me now." He chuckled, joking with the kid. No one would offer to put up with Feo for some extra runes tutoring...

Jory gathered up his things. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor,'' he said. "This was one of the best lessons ever.'' Yup, it was. "See you next time.'' He left the room feeling pleased with himself for being able to smash the box and retrieving the hammer pendant.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey didn't really have a desk to return to so he just turned aroud on the floor sitting criss-cross and listened to Botros explain the pendants.
He turned his around and saw the three runes inscribed on the back. This pendant was never leaving his neck ever!
Then Professor Botros was asssigning them their Homework, and reminded him of the extra task he was to for next class. "Professor it's Oakey, Oakey Gunter." He picked up his bag of ruined books and comics and headed towards the door when he overheard Alyssa offer to help clean up. "Professor, I know you said you won't need help, but I wrecked a desk. Is there something I could do...that doesn't involve walking crups?"
He eyed West Odessa and smiled a small possibly evil smile. If Sophie had trouble with the class, and didn't understand most of what was going on in class, he could use this Sytherin who was just as enthusiatic about this class as he was instead.
Oh right, he should probably help Sophie study as well.

Class was over. Kat was kinda happy that it was all worth it, the breaking of that really hard box with a really heavy hammer that needed Rune chants to break. Bah.
Oh, they were going to keep the pendants? Yay. Kat smiled and placed it inside her bag. Fixing things, keep in their bag. Pffffft. After all the finishing up, Kat thought. Questions? Nah, none for now but she will pay a visit at Botros's office if she had any questions to ask. Or maybe if she wanted to borrow one of those hammers for reasons. Ahem.
"Thanks for the GREAT lesson, Professor," she beamed at the old man. Then she left. Merlin, what a great lesson. Smashing, FTW.

Sierra took a second look at her pendant. So it wasn't just a piece of jewelry, was it? She flipped it over and looked at the runes on the other side. Success, something right up her alley. Cool. She pocketed the pendant with plans to attach it to something she could wear around her neck.
After that, she started packing up. "Thanks for a cool lesson, Professor," she said. Truthfully, it had been cool. Sierra was no fan of Ancient Runes, but this lesson was somewhat enjoyable. She liked the pendant, too, which was an added bonus.
Trying not to think about the fact that one of the Puffers was teaching the next lesson, Sierra turned on her heels and headed out the room.
But... she didn't have a pendant. Her metal box was still exactly how she found it. Uh...
HAND UP! "Professor! Could I use the Blasting Curse on the box now? Or Bombarda." Or ANYTHING with her own wand. HEEHEE. Class was over, they didn't have to use that crazy Rune thing anymore... yes? Yeees! She could use normal spells she COULD perform.
Or maybe the professor could open it himself... or even... she wouldn't be allowed to get the pendant at all because she wasn't able to do the activity properly.
OH WELL. It wasn't like she was dying to have that anyway. She wasn't even sure she believed it was actually going to help her in any way. Skeptical Sophie was skeptical.
Shrugging, the Hufflepuff got her things and went to put the crazy - yet cool, she had to admit - rune wand thing in the basket. "That's a very cool wand, professor." She felt the need to tell him, since she did so terrible in that class. But she really meant it! That glowing bit?? Yeeaah, that was pretty awesome!

So....awesome things about this lesson? Let's review. First, Ella got to SMASH something...with a hammer...just like Thor! How flipping cool is that? Second, Ella and Professor Botros made a pinky promise which just went to show how completely awesome the dude was. She could respect any adult that was willing to make a pinky promise, not that she didn't respect all adults anyway. Oh and third, that Mo kid? Well she didn't know him before but now she did so that was nice. Ella liked meeting new people. Fourth and lastly, Ells got to keep this cool necklace that would help her to focus on studies. BEAM! All in all this had been a really neat lesson.
The blonde scribbled down her homework before packing up her things and heading for the door. On the way out she stopped to thank the professor. "This lesson was really cool, Sir. Oh and erm...if I could help with my desk or anything..." Cause she'd heard Oakey offer and she'd demolished hers as well... "Oh and erm...your wand." Minerva smiled as the Professor dismissed class. Looking around the room, Minerva frowned what a mess. She felt bad leaving such a mess, but she had already heard him say no to help so she wouldn't ask again.
"thanks for such a fun lesson Professor."this had turned out to be the most interesting runes class she had attended. Picking up her bag she smiled a last time and headed out of class.
Ethan was sure he either wasn't concentrating enough or wasn't chanting loud enough and that was why he was still unable to lift the hammer. He was starting to get a bit frustrated as it seemed the rest of the class was able to finish this activity already.. even some of the first years. Well, he needed to get over whatever self-conscious issues he had with this and get it done. He was sure class was about to end and he would not be the only one in class unable to finish.
Taking a deep breath, Ethan willed himself to focus. Once again he grabbed both the hammer handle and the runic wand with both hands and began to chant. "Uruz uruz uruz... u u u u u u u u u... u u u u u u r r r r r r... u u u u u u u u u.." The runes began to glow and he continued to chant, this time a little louder. "Uruz uruz uruz... u u u u u u u u u... u u u u u u r r r r r r... u u u u u u u u u.."
As he continued chanting, the hammer began to lift.. first seemingly to rise as Ethan was pulling it upwards then more on its own accord. He stopped when the hammer was over the box, then he stopped. The boy lurched forward somewhat as the very heavy hammer suddenly came crashing down on the box. The weight of the hammer caused it to topple off the box and onto the floor, and the boy could see that he had managed to break open the box.
He picked it up and lifted the wooden box. As he opened it, the sixth year noticed the pendant inside. Huh.. that was pretty cool actually. Ethan slipped it on over his head just in time to hear Botros wrapping up the class. Runic charm for success? Ethan flipped over the pendant to see for himself. Hmm.. he kinda liked it.. even more so now. He supposed the lesson wasn't all that bad.. The boy gathered up his things and with a nod to the professor, headed out the door.

As far as Dylan was concerned, the first Rune's lesson had not only been fun and entertaining...but a success as well. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. So, that was a plus, right?
BLINK. Wait....What did he care if everyone was enjoying it?
Merlin, it was like he was turning into a Hufflepuff.
Gathering the broken bits of his box, he carted it over to the bin. Perhaps the Professor would be doing something with this stuff. No need to throw it away, right? It could be melted down...

Hearing his signature snort, the Captain turned to see one of his Quidditch prodigies...Yes. PRODIGIES...He was also cleaning up his mess.
After cleaning up, he turned to tell the Professor 'Goodbye'...but also heard the Hufflepuff. Seriously...She'd been away all last year...and now that she was back, she was STILL obsessing about points...(because everyone knew that's what it was). Who offered to help without some reward?

Oh? The class was over? Lex hopped off the Professor's desk and beamed up at him. "That was an interesting class Professor and that coming from me says a lot!" It did. Everyone knew her thoughts on this dreadful subject but somehow the man had managed to make it fun. It wasn't everyday that you got permission to break things.
She walked back to her desk and put together her things then slung her bag on.
"Have a good day!" Ugh. Saying that only served to remind her that this was the first class of the day. She still had a long way to go before she could get a break but by then she wouldn't be tired anymore. Meh.
There was no need to have another class at an hour like this. Just saying.

As Belle was getting done with raising her wand for the lesson, she heard the professor saying the lesson was dismissed. Belle loved this class. It was very interesting indeed. She did learn a lot this class. As Belle was packing her things and then she handed the wand and kept the necklace.
Belle smiled to the professor and said, "Thank you very much professor for a wonderful lesson. I did learn a lot." she then left and opened the door to go to her other class.

"You don't have to feel guilty, Gunter, though. I would be a void teach if I thought those hammers wouldn't cause collateral damage." Patting the boy's shoulder, Botros nodded his head toward the Hufflepuff behind Oakey...

We can't risk a blasting spell to break a metal box in a room full of students." Or humans, really. However, he reached behind and snatched a pendant from his desk's drawer. "You need this, though. Wear it or hang it somewhere and I hope the magic of the runes will be with you." And shove some rune sense into her.

Aw, the next desk crasher. Those kids were so fresh in life and got guilty very quickly. Ab offered the girl a shoulder pat as well, "Don't worry about the desk. You did very well in class." Definitely one of the students who offered sensible replies and guesses. "Have a nice day."

"Professor who should I practice with?" Laura smiled at the Professor, she would pretend to do the work, he wouldn't check right.

"Awesome." West was EAGER. In fact, he followed like a puppy, his bag over his shoulder and he was wiggling a bit, all big eyed eagerness.
Running, fetching, and chewing? West could get behind that.

Well apparently not everyone was out yet, the girl who refused to try and chant the galdr was still here. The professor considered her question for a moment before putting his hand on her shoulder and directing her toward the door along with Odessa. "Pick any of the other students, no one refused to practice the galdr but you." Maybe her Prefects would handle it.
He closed the classroom's door behind them and headed for his office with the Slytherin kiddo.
