Early and first thing in the morning after breakfast was the best time for Ancient Runes, the students will have open fresh minds and full stomachs. The classroom was arranged traditionally, Ab made sure nothing was hazardous to the kids when he redecorated the room. The desks and chairs were neatly organized in parallel five rows, that's one side of the big classroom. As you walk through the door and to your left is the professor's desk and blackboard. Professor Botros is sitting on his chair writing something on a parchment.

For this lesson, there is a small pile of mysterious tools next to each desk, it hardly reaches up to your knees. A piece of cloth is draped over to conceal what's underneath it. "Do not touch the pile next to your seat" is written on the blackboard behind the professor. If you do try to remove it with your hand, you'll feel a slight pinch. Do not touch.

Greet your new teacher, take a seat, write your name and year on the piece of parchment set on your table, and wait for the lesson to start. Please stay quiet and do not speak.

ooc:The class has officially STARTED. Don't announce your arrival but pretend you've been here all along. ^.^

Class progress:
- What are runes? What does the word 'rune' mean?
- Who is the person in the drawing? What is he holding? Why would we discuss them both in class?
- Identify some of the runes on the blackboard, and find their meanings.
- The solution to the trick question, rune of Uruz, and activity time!
- Extra question (courtesy of Gryffindor Captain) and Activity is still in progress!

Aurora made her way up to Ancient Runes straight after breakfast, she was determined to do well in her lessons this term and if that meant not hanging around in the Great Hall to talk to people so she'd be late then so be it.

She walked through the door... oh, first one here? Hmm. "Good morning, Professor." she said politely, taking a seat somewhere in the middle of the room. She took her quill from her back and wrote her name on the parchment in front of her.

She was not amused.

Ancient Runes wasn't exactly just a few rooms down from the Great Hall yet it was her first class of the day. Couldn't they be a bit more considerate of lion students. She had to get up, walk all the down a long flight of stairs, get breakfast only to have to walk right back up. Lex would need to have a word with the Professor, things couldn't continue like this.

She walked into the class, feeling only slightly better about this year. Runes Guy was dead which meant a new Professor which meant...well she didn't know but it meant stuff!

"G'Morning Professor--" OLD MAN! Somehow she had a feeling this was all announced last night at the feast, you know, that he'd be the new Runes Professor but she hadn't been paying attention so YES she was surprized. And lookit! STUFF.

Lex quickly picked a seat riiiiiiiight up close to the Professors desk and eyed the things that she was supposedly not to touch. "Will you be showing us a bunch of squibbly lines today, Professor?" If so then she needed Jake! While she waited on an answer she kept moving her hand towards pile but kept pulling away before she actually touched it. The thing wouldn't get crossed at her teasing it, right?

"Ancient Runes...."

It was the Ravenclaw youngun's first class-- and she was still trying to get used to schedules and uniforms, so it wasnt strange to find this little one struggling to read the parchment in her hand that bore her agenda for the day and looking for the right room with an armful of books and parchment sticking out oddly and close to falling off. She wandered down the corridor several times before finally entering this room and she saw the elderly MAN writing something on his desk.

Large soulful brown eyes gets even larger. This will be her FIRST class being taught by a MAN.

There was usually a greeting, at least back in her island. But at least she's figured out that her ways were much different from how things were done around here, and her gaze darted to that ginger in green robes, the little blonde Claw followed suit "Goodmorning Professor B-- " Sweet Hestia what was his name?? She struggled to look at her parchment which promptly triggered a collapse of all her books and materials towards the floor...

*flails!*

"Sorry!!" she whimpered as she hastily collected her things

After the gratifying breakfast at the Great Hall that lovely morning, Beezus promptly prepared herself for Ancient Runes. They had a new Professor, which meant a new environment to learn in and new rules to live and work with. In high spirits she walked into the classroom, tugging on her necktie as she entered.

Immediately, she saw the ~~old~~ man. "Good morning, Professor." the brunette greeted with a slight nod before taking a seat. Finding a piece of parchment on her desk, she scribbled her name. Also, here were some stuff next to her desk too.....and instructions on the board. Okay, no touching...just staring suspiciously.

Ancient Runes. A lesson she didn't really do well in, but one that she didn't hate. She just wasn't good at it, although there had been a few lessons she had enjoyed. As she walked into the classroom, she noticed there was another Professor there. She wracked her brains but couldn't remember the last runes Professor's name, but had he been one of the ones who were eaten? Or did he leave during her third year? Shrugging to herself, she walked through the door and glanced at the Professor.

"Hi Professor Botros," she greeted with a nervous smile. She wasn't good at meeting new people, especially Professors. "I'm Zhenya." She wasn't sure what else to say, so she turned around and collapsed into a seat feeling quite embarrassed.

She took her parchment, dipped her quill in some ink, and wrote;

After having a rather large breakfast, Dylan made his way up to Runes. It was bitter sweet because he was still bummed about Professor Jenkins no longer teaching the subject...even though that he been two years ago. Hmph. Dude had been cool.

As far as the Slytherin was concerned, however...as long as he could understand what the Professor was saying this year, they wouldn't have issues...

Entering the classroom, he quickly grabbed a seat, preparing for the lesson. Breaking out some parchment, ink, and a quill, he did the name-thing...

West was WAY too excited for this class. He was a THIRD YEAR NOW and of course he'd chosen Ancient Runes as an elective. He'd only ever been to one class, and that was on account of Professor Jenkins had done an intro class especially for first years when he was just eleven. BUT NOW he could do runes properly!

"Good Morning, Professor." For reals. It SO was. He went ahead and sat down, with space on either side for friends and such, and wrote his name on the paper.

Ancient Runes.

He has Ancient Runes for his first class of the day? Ugh. He's never really a big fans of ancient things so yes this lesson is never been in his favorite list. Messer practically had to drag himself from the Great Hall to the fifth floor.

Stairs, stairs, stairs and more stairs.

And finally the fourth year arrived in front of the classroom. He walked through the door and immediately he saw The Ancient Runes Professor. "Good Morning, Professor. Welcome to Hogwarts." Well, he didn't get a chance to welcoming the old man during the opening feast soooo yeah...

After Messer settled down on one of the empty seat, he took out his quill from his bag and wrote down his name on the piece of parchment.

Ancient Runes. It even sounded scary.

Ivy entered the classroom nervously. Her first sight was the old man, who must be the teacher. "Good morning, Professor," she said. He looked strict and almost as scary as the lesson he taught. She went to sit down in the first empty seat she saw, which was the middle of three empty seats, meaning both spaces either side of her were empty. For now. That was a good thing though, because nobody would see how scared she was or how badly she was doing.

Picking up her quill, Ivy wrote her name, year and house on a piece of parchment in her very neatest handwriting in case the Professor was really, really strict about that kind of stuff.

Ancient Runes. The subject fascinated Jory but he was not too good at it. "Good day, Professor,'' he greeted the new teacher. He took a seat in the third row, eyeing the pile next to the desk.

Drawing his attention away from the pile, he took out his quill and wrote the necessary:

Ancient Runes. The worst of all lessons except Potions. But the Potions lesson itself wasn't so bad; It was all Lafay's fault. It was remarkable she was still at Hogwarts. Most of the other teachers Lilly had had last time she was here were long gone, it seemed.

The girl was glad she wasn't late. The stairs had been annoying her again. Stupid stairs. Lilly hated how they moved everywhere with no apparant pattern or anything. Seeing the old man at the front who was supposedly the teacher, she put on a nice ~~fake~~ smile. "Good morning Professor. How are you?" she asked politely.

Seeing the instructions on the board, she went to sit down at an empty desk next to a little girl, probably first year by the looks of her. Hufflepuff. Like Violet. Siiigh. "Hello," she whispered, before sitting down and taking her belongings from her bag. Lilly wrote down her name and such, using her pretty new quill with her pretty, shiny new ink.

Awww! Why did they have to put Ancient Runes as the first lesson of the year in his schedule? Daichi was horrible at this subject, they knew that! ...they knew ...right?

Still, there was nothing the Slytherin could do about it so he followed his fellow students in to the classroom. Once inside, Daichi's brown eyes found the new Professor sitting on a chair while writing something down.

Merlin that man looked OLD!

Checking if his badge was still pinned correctly on his Slytherin robe. Daichi walked to the front of the classroom while passing a few tables. He was a bit nervous because he wasn't a star in this subject but he still needed to set an example for the others cause of his Prefect badge. But...he was only human too right?

Part duck part human , i mean.

"Hello Professor" He greeted the man as his cheerful self and bowed. "I wanted to say Welcome to Hogwarts" The Slytherin smiled before waving his hand and after reading the instructions off of the blackboard he found a place to sit.

Oichi yawned as she got up and headed out to Great Hall for an early Ancient Runes lesson, ugh. She got to the Ancient Runes classroom and opened the door. Great, this place looks completely boring
She saw the professor and said, "Good morning Professor", Oichi said trying to not sound too groggy. She then took a seat at one of the normal desks which her head fell upon.

Oakey did not eat breakfast, in fact he out right skipped going to the Great Hall at all. He woke up early and stayed in his Dorm room quietly figuring out what went wrong at the feast between him and Mordred Mordaunt. Occasionally he even reminded himself that Ancient Runes was his first class of the term, his favorite class, the class he was only ACCEPTABLE at!

He entered the classroom looking to the new Professor who looked a tad older than his GeeGee. "Good Morning" He said to the new Old Professor, and took a seat in the second row. No front row for anyone ACCEPTABLE in this class, he dropped his pile of Ancient Runes, and Nordic Myth Texts onto it and slumped into the chair.

His stomach growled loudly as he filled out the piece of parchment with his name on it, and sank lower into his seat.

Minerva walked moved with the rest of the group as they filed into their next class. Ancient Runes. This class had to have had the most professor, maybe not, but it just seemed like it. This term was no different and Minerva hoped she could understand this professor, because Ancient Runes was not one of her strongest classes.

Looking around she found her seat and pulled her parchment to get ready for class. "Hello Professor, welcome to Hogwarts" after greeting the professor Minerva began writing the information that was asked of her so that she could be well prepared.

That's when it truly hit her. The excitement of starting a new term quickly went to a shock of realizing she was not just a younger puff anymore. She was a fifth year. Fifth year already, it didn't seem real, no, not until writing it on her parchment.

Okay, so this was Sky's first true attempt at this subject ever. Sure, her tutor had gone over a few basic facts with her before their lessons ended, but for the most part she was completely in the dark. So, why had she decided to come? Her aunts urging really. Her aunt thought that it would look best if she was taking as many subjects as she could, for some reason. Of course, Aunt Roxi was crazy, but she loved the woman enough to actually do as she said in this case.

Sky entered the room as cheerfully yet politely as possible and took a seat. She glanced at the pile of..... whatever by her desk, then at the board. No touchy. That she could do. "Good morning, professor," she greeted before writing her name and stuff on the parchment in front of her. Once that was done, she set it up towards the front of the desk then sat there quietly waiting for class to begin.

Ancient Runes. The one class Rowan truly dreaded and first thing in the morning too. Well, she was determined to work harder this year. "Good morning, Professor," she said as she entered the room and gave the professor a smile.

She quickly scanned the room to see who was here. Not recognizing anyone, she made her way to a seat at the very back. After placing her bag on the floor she took a seat and proceeded to write her name on the parchment.

Ancient Runes. Well, the previous Professor passed away. Does that mean no more having struggles with the accent? She hoped so. With Christiansen's accent, it was a bit difficult to understand what he was saying. Hopefully the new Professor didn't have the same accent. It would be annoying. Kat walked in the classroom and smiled at the... old man who was now their Runes professor. "Good morning, Professor," Kat greeted, acting casually even if she kinda forgot the man's name. Then she took a seat.

Hmm.. Very mysterious. Nigel wondered what was that stuff. Well he guessed the Professor would tell them when class started.

Jake was... exhausted. Having not slept well the night before, he was a bit irritable and very sleepy. And, to make matters worse, one of his worst subjects was held first thing in the morning. Why he didn't just give up on it he had no idea. That would be the smart thing to do. But it was too late for that now.

As he walked into the room, he took a quick scan to see the decorations. It was usually pretty interesting to see what professors did with their classrooms. This one, though, was just desks. And... piles on floor. Glancing to the front, Jake saw instructions on the board and nodded to himself. No touchy. Also, at the front, a figure caught his eye. The old man. Lovely. That pretty much guaranteed that this class would mean extra sleep hours.

"Good morning, Professor," he greeted politely with a slight wave. He turned toward the desks, yawning, and took a seat in the first empty desk his eyes fell on. Which also happened to be right next to Alexa. "Hey," he mumbled to her under his breath. He didn't want to get in trouble for talking on the first day, so that would be all he said. So instead of saying more, he dug out parchment and a quill and followed the instructions given to them.

Yawn. First class of the day and it was Ancient Runes? That was Nessie's least favorite subject and for that reason it was hard for her to smile brightly as she entered the classroom. The new Professor looked just as ancient as the subject and that didn't exactly excite Ness, but what did excite her was what she saw by each desk.

Things covered in cloth? Interesting, for a change.

The red head wanted to take a peek, but it was a good thing she read what the blackboard before had done anything. She walked past the ancient looking man and gave him a nod along with a greeting and introduction. "Morning Professor, I'm Renesmee Dixon, Hufflepuff Captain." She felt a bit weird saying the end bit. She didn't feel it was that necessary to mention she was Captain but for some reason she did. Oh well. Not the end of the world.

The Hufflepuff then sat down in the last row. The last row, in case she wanted to fall asleep that was. Next Nessie took a piece of parchment, wrote her name and year down and lastly folded it in half so it could stand nicely on her desk.

New day, new lesson....

...and apparently new professor as well. Juliet saw him in the feast but wasn't quite sure which one is he. There were a handful of new professors for this term, not that Juliet had a problem with it. Change is good probably. However, Ancient Runes is not a subject that she can promise to keep her mind focus at. Sigh.

Upon entering the classroom, everything seemed to be in order and students were trying to find themselves their seats. Juliet sat down in one corner, near the window. She hopes this would keep her alive. Yes, she's that motivated. She glanced over to the Professor and greeted him with a smile "Good day professor" and then she placed her bag on the floor and sat down on the vacant seat. She then took out her parchment and quill, then began writing:

Ethan had almost wished he failed his Ancient Runes OWL just so he wouldn't have to take it at NEWT level. The class was so incredibly dull to the boy, but the truth was he was actually quite good at the subject ~~not that he'd admit it~~. And now, at the insistence of his parents, he was here again this term.

He certainly wasn't looking forward to class as he trudged along the fifth floor corridor. He knew there would be a new professor this term, but he was sure this guy wouldn't be able to make Runes any more exciting than the next guy. Pausing at the entrance of the classroom, he gave a small smile to the old guy sitting there. "Good morning, Professor," Ethan told him with a nod as he walked past. "Welcome to Hogwarts."

Walking through the classroom, he noticed how full it was getting and recognized a few familiar faces, giving smiles or nods to each. The sixth year soon found a seat, then glanced at the covered pile on the floor next to him. Shrugging lightly to himself, he turned his eyes to the notes on the board, then began writing his information on the parchment.

Mackenzie slowly entered the classroom, she looked around at the other students. As she passed by the professor she smiled "Good morning professor." Quickly Mack took her seat near the front of the room.
