Minerva looked at that mess. She felt like twitching a little by the look of the room. She put up her hand "Cleaning, will we be cleaning today." |
Kaiden hadn't even know what to expect behind the curtain, but it was definitely not what he saw. Turning to look at the class room behind him, he just couldn't believe that this was all the same room. His room was usually a mess, but it was never like that. Raising his hand, he said the first thing that came to mind. "You want us to clean that up?" |
SPOILER!!: Professor Alyssa looked at the messy room and almost laughed aloud. It looked exactly like her twin sister's room. She waited while the others gave their answers before raising her hand to answer. "From what I can see, I agree with some of the students here. Our job today will be to clean up the mess using the necessary spells required to do it. From what I can see, the clothes don't look dirty but just require folding up. And the rest of the stuff just need to be put back where they belong. So we would be using spells to do that." Alyssa suggested. Then she realized another possibility and added,"We could also be using a spell to hide how untidy the room is, like charm it to look nice to the eye of the beholder." 'Hey it was a worth a try, since Cody always tries to get Alex to do that for her.' Alyssa thought to herself. |
Text Cut: Davvy_Wavvy Sierra felt like rolling her eyes. Who cared what was behind the curtain? It was probably some dumb game they'd play. She started to just keep her back turned to the curtain, but then again, ...what if there was some creature behind there, or something? This wasn't Care of Magical Creatures class, but then again, one could never be too careful with the revealing of something behind a curtain. So Sierra slooowly turned around to see for herself. ...a messy bedroom?! Pause. Half the kids in this room probably slept in a similar place back at home. Not Sierra, but still...some probably did. She listened as her classmates gave answers about cleaning charms and the like. Ha. She could have used those at home this summer, when her mother decided to have her start learning responsibilities. Blahhh. Raising her hand, Sierra said, "Looks like we're going to learn to clean the quick and easy way." The magical way. She put down her hand and shrugged. "Or how to summon a house elf. One or the other." |
Vickers' eyes shifted mess to mess at the bedroom revealed to them. He was suddenly struck with the memory of the Muggle movie where a magical nanny made the children fix their room with just the snap of their fingers. Of course in the real magical society only Elves get to snap fingers and such, Wizards and Witches had the benefit of wands for that. He raised a tentative hand as he peeled his eyes away from the topsy-turvy and focused back to the Professor "Professor, are we going to learn spells on how to organize this room?" |
After seeing how tidy the classroom had been and how picky the professor was about their appearance, it was a slight shock to see what the area behind the curtain looked like. It was in stark contrast to the rest of the classroom. But it seemed easy enough to guess what they would be doing today. Silvia raised her hand. "Are we going to be learning some sort of cleaning spell?" |
Nate looked at the mess. It was just awful. He never knew how someone could live that messy. When he heard the question he thought he knew the answer. So he raised his hand and said "We could be casting a spell that will help tidy up the room." He thought it would be something like that. And if they were learning a new spell it would have to be quite interesting. |
Wow, what a mess. It looks a bit like my room at home. Perhaps this class could very helpful Oichi raised her hand and responded, "We are gonna learn how to clan a room with magic, are'nt we?". |
Hannah craned her neck to get a good look at the mess. This sooo did not seem like something the Professor would tolerate. She bet the Professor's house was tidy...not a thing out of place. Still the obvious response was that they were going to learn some sort of cleaning spell. Buuut...what if the professor was not looking for the most obvious answer. She thought for a minute. She didn't want the professor to again think she was dense. Not that she came out and said that, but she could definitely tell that was what she was thinking with look she got. Hannah raised her hand. "Professor I think we may be using some sort of cleaning charm, but also I think maybe it will be something less obvious." Ok she was rambling. She was sure she was going to get that eye again. Hand still raised, "What I mean is maybe we will be learing how to tell if an object has been charmed?" This sounded better in her head. "Since this room is a mess and there are so many common objects." That's it. She wasn't going to say anymore...she felt like she was only becoming more confusing the more she talked. She only hoped the professor would appreciate her thinking outside the box a bit. |
Mika looked at the mess in the room and felt her own brain wasn't working with her. She had a slightly rebellious outburst somewhere deep inside. "Maybe you want us to turn the heat up in there and kill off any of the possible germs hanging out on all the clothes" she offered. "Or to burn them all so they can't come to life as BIG germs" she had no idea. She just didn't like germs. |
Elise squinted to get a good look at whatever the professor was motioning at. Maybe she needed glasses after all... It was... messy. Now, two things struck her at once, and they both seemed somewhat logical. "Professor? We would be either doing an organizing charm to organize that room," she started. "Or perhaps a glamour, a spell that gives an illusion of a cleaner room." Because that just made sense. Unless she wanted them to clean it manually. |
Ella looked at the mess, her eyes wide. Had the Professor been to her house and seen her room or something? Because this scene looked really familiar. "Professor, are we going to be learning to do laundry with spells? Those clothes look a bit...dirty." |
Ooooo, messy bedrooms. Maybe he'd finally learn how to properly fold a shirt or even pair of socks, instead of just making them flop over "Are we gonna learn how te properly fold clothes and put them away all with wandwork?" he asked after raising his hand. |
A curtain... Huh.... Lily could really care less about what was behind a curtain but since the professor seemed to be strict, the second year didn't let that show on her face. Then they found out that: a dirty bedroom was behind the curtain. That meant doing work like folding clothes and fixing the bed... stuff that apparently could be done easily with magic. Lily made sure to raise her hand before answering the question. "Um.. We're learning how to fold clothes using charms..." You know... because there was unfolded clothes in the basket. |
Ameliah raised her hand. "Today we will be tidying up, possibly using spells such as Scourgify, or even Wingardium Leviosa to straighten the bed, as well as others." |
SPOILER!!: Professor Zhenya was a proud third year now. Although she was still in the younger half of the school, she was in the older half of the youngsters. That made her feel big! Plus... she had grown a bit. Looking at the scene after the Professor had made sure her students were all neat, Zhenya bit her tongue from laughing. Was it the Professor's Bogart? No.. it's charms. Zhenya raised her hand and said, "Professor are we going to learn a cleaning charm?" she asked. That would be incredible to learn! She would never have to clean up again. |
I need a timeturner! *kicks time zone* SPOILER!!: i missed these! xD Well, she was standing there already, with her hands crossed in front of her chest, as she waited for further instructions. So they were standing next to a curtain, and what was behind it? Yeah, she didn't have any idea. Hmm..maybe a dragon? Oh, that'll just be awesome! A dragon in Charms and maybe they'd practice how to tame one with the use of incantations? Pfftt. They were in Charms, not in a Care of Magical Creatures Class. Quickly, she diminished the thought and waited until the curtain parted. And when it did. Frown. Clothes and more clothes everywhere? And oh, so disorganized! Beezus tried to keep herself from frowning more. Guess? Guess what they were going to do? Heck, yeah! One thing. Cleaning. That was it. They were going to clean that mess up with the use of Charms. Raising her hand, she voiced out her thoughts, "Professor, as I see it, we'd be doing some cleaning. Laundry, folding clothes with the use of magic." Nod. Nod. As simple as that. |

SPOILER!!: You're all right ^_^ Okay now things were looking a lot better, people were actually thinking now. It put her in a much better mood. Though this was quite easy so, yeah. "You're all quite right. Today we'll be looking at spells to aid us with cleaning. As I'm sure a lot of you have bedrooms that look like this." Which was quite a shame really. "We'll be looking at two spells, they are Plic Vestimenta, which is the spell to fold and Liberum Arbitrium which is a motor spell. Third years will be working with the folding spells and the older students will be working with the motor spells." She moved to the basket and pulled out a shirt. "Pay attention." She gave the shirt a gentle tap on the shirt and said Plic Vestimenta" The shirt quickly folded itself. She smiled at the neatly folded shirt. "See? Very simple." She moved across the room to the brooms. "Now this spell, you need to say the name of the object you are charming. Like this:Liberum Arbitrium Broom. Swish and clockwise twirl of the wand." She proceeded to do as she instructed and the broom sprung into action, sweeping on it's on free will."You can use this on any cleaning instrument." She stepped aside. "Now everyone take turns practicing. Older students there are enough brooms for everyone to practice on and enough clothing pieces for the younger ones." |
Tay picked up a piece of clothing and grimaced. She sighed and took out her wand. Taylor tapped it. "Plic Vestimenta." Tay watched as the shirt folded itself. It wasnt folded completely perfect so she unfoled it and tried again, tapping the shirt and saying, "Plic Vestimenta." That time the shirt folded perfectly. |
Text Cut: Davvy_Wavvy Well, of course she was right. Sierra grinned to herself then listened as the professor told them about the charms they'd use today. She so could have used a folding and sweeping charm this past summer, but then again, she was underage and couldn't really use them anyway. A few quick demonstrations later, and Sierra was up on her feet ready to try the motor charm herself. She headed across the room and chose a random broom. For Quidditch, she'd have snagged the best one. For this, though, it really didn't matter. The first thing she decided to do was practice the incantation. She couldn't really get far without that, and in all her fifteen years, she'd learned that the wrong incantation could give disastrous results. She'd leave failure to the Puffers. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom," she said, listening to the way she sounded out the words. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom." |
Kurumi was actually wishing that she could practice the Folding Charm since she could sort of make a broom sweep by using a well placed Locomotor Charm, but maybe they would get the chance later to try them both out. If not sooner then perhaps the homework? After jotting down a few more notes on her parchment, documenting both spells for later use and practice, Kurumi went over and retrieved a broom before returning to her place and leaning it up against herself so she could remove her wand from her pocket. Once this was done, Kurumi practiced the wand movement. A swish....and then a counter...wait, no, a clockwise twirl of the wand. Why did some of these wand movements have to be so complicated sometimes? It made Kurumi wish she was skilled enough at wandless magic...but that was dreaming far too big for a sixth year. After a few more practices with her wand, perfecting the fluidity of the movement, Kurumi returned it to her holster and practiced the incantation. This was always the hardest part for her, especially with L sounds as her Japanese accent sometimes had a way of overpowering her pronunciation. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom...Liberum Arbitrium Broom....Liberum Arbitrium Broom..." she said to herself as she used her right index finger as a wand to practice it with the moment. Now that that was done, Kurumi returned her attention to the broom that she had leaned against the wall and pointed her wand at it. Here goes nothing? |
Ella went over and grabbed a blouse from the basket full of clothes and brought it back to her seat. She frowned at the garment, noting how wrinkled it was. Then, the second year decided to practicing saying the spells before putting them into practice. "Plicic Vestimenta...no wait, Plic Vestimentar...no. Hm. Plic V-Vestimenta. Yeah, Plic Vestimenta. Plic Vestimenta!" Having successfully got the verbal aspect of the spell down, Ella was ready to move on. Picking up her wand, Ella gently tapped the blouse. "Plic Vestimenta" Looking down, she noticed that the blouse was still sitting on the table unfolded. Hm. Furrowing her brow, Ella once again tapped the blouse, more firmly this time, and said the words clearly. "Plic Vestimenta!" This time the blouse folded itself neatly and Ella felt a smile form on her lips immediately. How cool was this? Her dad would surely appreciate this charm. |
Mika nodded when she heard what they were doing and she had been right - somewhat. She hadn't said it in time but she had the right idea at least. Cleaning things. Cleaning was good right. Cleaning wasn't fun. But it was good. Walking over she picked up a small collection of skirts, shirts, pants, and anything else that needed folding from the room. "Plic Vestimenta" she said and tapped the skirt - her eyes nearly BUGGED out of her head as she saw it begin to fold itself. Merlin's Holy Knickers that was AMAZING. "That is sooooo cool thank you Professor Bellaire" she smiled excitedly. "Plic Vestimenta" she spoke the words again this time just feeling the weight of them on her tongue. |
"Liberum Arbitrium Broom," Sierra said, for the third time. Hmm. That sounded easy enough, and now that she was confident she could say it without destroying anything, she could use her wand now. On second thought, maybe she should just go over the wand movements separately, too. Picking up her wand and aiming away from anyone or anything, Sierra gave it a good swish then a clockwise twirl. Wait. Something went wrong there. Sierra stared at her wand trying to place what had happened. Realizing she'd gone counter-clockwise instead, Sierra frowned then tried it all again. Swish...then a clockwise twirl. There. That looked better. |
As Violet watched the professor demonstrated the cleaning charm for the class. Ohhhhh.... So that was how her mother kept the house clean all the time. It was probably similar to the spell that the professor demonstrated. As she thought of other spells that could help clean her messy room back at home, she grabbed a broom from the front of the classroom and went back to her seat. Laying it down on her desk, Violet took out her wand and practiced the Swish and clockwise twirl without saying the spell. It was quite simple really so Violet braced herself and pointed her wand to the broom. With the same motion of the Swish and clockwise twirl of her wand, she said in a quiet voice, "Liberum Arbitrium Broom." Violet held her breath. The broom stood up on it's own, and did a small wobble of a sweep then fell flat on its side. Violet sighed. It was only her first try and bent down to pick up the broom to attempt the spell again. |
