Gideon & The Professor

Jade's eyes widened at the new opportunity their house had. She wanted Gryffindor to win House Cup this year and this had to be Gryffindor's win. She heard Gideon call over the Gryffindors and she quickly followed, silently. She knew she wasn't the best at this charm and she was sure other Gryffindor could do a lot better than her.

"Sure! You know how to do the broom charm, right?" He just wanted to make sure. A big part of him wanted to win REAL BAD, but he bet all the Slytherins wanted to win this.

Still, he would guide Daichi to excel in this.

"HAI~!" Daichi smiled brightly after seeing Kennedy grin. That meant that he had remembered him right? Now that he thought about it, he had not talked to the Prefect at all last year. He waited for Kennedy to be done with looking around and nodded his head at his question.

Slowly.

He nodded his head slowly because he wasn't sure wether to lie or tell the truth. If he lied he would have a dissapointed Kennedy and he had the feeling his golden star attached on his robe would disappear when the Professor found out. Telling the truth meant that he would probably find someone else and Daichi REALLY wanted to participate sooo..

"Eehm..yeah.. .kinda..." was his answer.

"I WILL." He almost shouted at his snakes, "If y'all want, of course." Just cos they seemed to be going nowhere with this volunteer thing. He wasn't GOING to speak up, but the gold star, tho.

Just then an excited little first year caught his attention. And it seemed that Kennedy had noticed him too. Daichi grinned a little at his hyperness. He had been like that too ..well..actually he was still like that but now that he looked down at the younger he had the feeling he needed to try and be the mature one also ...even if it was hard. Because Daichi wanted ..no NEEDED to win. "Hiya~! " he said as he gave the boy a wave with both his arms before turning to Kennedy. "So what now?"

She smiled at them. "The rules are as follows. You'll need to select two persons from each house, one from the first to third year group and one from the older group." She waved her wand again and unfolded all the clothes that had been folded by the students. The dust was once again all over the floor area. "Younger student should focus on folding four pieces of clothing from the basket and the older student needs to enchant two broom to sweep the dust to the corner of the room then use the evanesco spell to vanish the dirt. You will be timed. I'll leave you to get your teams together."

Ariana walked up to the older girl and raised her hand shyly. "I could always be the older one," she said. Though she hadn't fully perfected the spell yet, she knew she'd figure it out. At some point. Maybe.

...whatever. Even if she couldn't cast the spell, she nevertheless needed a group, and this one was as good as any. She smiled and nodded, confirming her... volunteeringness. That was totally a word.

Nigel was interested but knew that he couldnt do it, he was only a first year. He did want Ravenclaw to win the House Cup. He heard Louisa call over the Claws and he quickly followed, silently. He knew he wasn't the best at this charm and was sure that Ariana and Evangelina could do the challenge

"So who is doing what?" she smiled "I think I have the folding down pretty good so put me in for that." she was ready to have some fun.

Alyssa spoke up "Since I'm a fourth year, I can do the sweeping. We just need to find someone from first to third year to do the folding. Does anyone have any other suggestions?"

Theodore stared deeply at NOTHING for a few seconds. Did he just... volunteer for something after practising the spell ONCE in his entire life? And now he was representing his HOUSE?

Oh, good Merlin.

Well, at least it was BIG pressure to make him do well. He looked sheepishly at the Prefect, "O-oooooookay." He stood forward and next to the older boy who had volunteered.

Theodore just didn't know how to communicate with old people. He smiled nervously at EVERYONE then got his wand at the ready. What was the spell again?

NO, don't worry, snakes. He had dis.

He would wait for the other guy to make the first move.

A competition? Pyrsephonie was never one for competing, but this sounded kind of fun. She was always up for fun! She walked over to her fellow Puffs. She looked around at the group. Nobody else had volunteered. "I'll do it," she said out loud.

Hannah beamed at her housemates. She was glad that everyone was stepping up. She would herself if that meant earning some house points and stars...whatever that was about. It looked like they had more than enough volunteers but she gathered around just in case somebody decided to back out at the last moment. She wanted to bad for them to win this. "I'm here if you need me guys." Of course she kind of hoped that they wouldn't.

"Now that is an awesome suggestion. If no one opposed the partnership, let's get started now."Alyssa told Minerva while waiting to see whether anyone would object.

While she waited for anyone else to volunteerwaiting she practiced the chant for her spell again. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom...Liberum Arbitrium Broom...Liberum Arbitrium Broom" The wand movements were swish and a clockwise twirl.

"Okay I'm ready to start. Since I don't see any other older Hufflepuff students right now, I guess I'm it for now. I promise not to let the House down everyone." "HUFFLEPUFF WILL RULE AGAIN!!"

Alyssa stood next to her broom and prepared to cast the spell.

Gideon watched as a few of his fellow students came forward, a couple of them raising their hands to show they were willing to do the task the selected duo would need to accomplish. "Alright...so we have two volunteers for the younger years," he mused, offering them both a smile to show his thanks and support.

"Any one else? And any older students?" he questioned, knowing there were still other Gryffindors in class. Not to mention he guessed he himself could do it if no one else wanted to step forward. The one who came to him...Jade he remembers...was quiet and hadn't raised her hand so he figured she was just gathering, not volunteering

"I can be partners with someone as well." That didn't sound too enthusiastic, did it?

Kennedy hid the grin the threatened to stretch his lips. He had a feeling the boy would want some part in this. Why? Because everyone wanted house points.

"We have volunteers, but you can help guide them if they seem to struggle," he said with a curt nod. Encouragement was always one of the best ways of helping your teammates.

"Thanks for organizing this," Sierra said, coming to a stop by Kennedy. She'd been across the room practicing, and by the time she made it over, Kennedy had already gotten everything together. She turned her attention to the four who'd be performing the spells. "We expect nothing else but a win," she said with a smirk. Except, this smirk was more of an encouraging smirk rather than a malicious one.

With that said, she stood back and waited for things to get underway.

West was sort of staring a bit. On the one hand he was glad that he wouldn't have to do this thing, which he really had no clue what else to do to make it work, and on the other hand, why couldn't they aaaall do it? He patted the perrrrfectly folded t-shirt that he had done by hand with a really cool trick and frowwwned to himself. He needed help! Could he still practice while his house people were doing whatever that contest was? What if he couldn't get it? Why wasn't it happening right away? If his dad was here, West was sure that he'd make it all make sense, and help him get it right.

He shot a helpless sort of look towards Aspen, eyes all big and shuffled closer to his housemates.

Straaaaaaaaaangely silent was one West Odessa.

Plic Vestimenta. Plic Vestimenta. Plic Vestimenta. Plic Vestimenta.

Theodore said the spell over and over in his brain, and then, oh DAMN, the prefect announced that they were beginning. Why did he do this to himself? So much PRESSURE. And to make it worse, all of the Slytherins were watching him.

About to watch him fail.

And will likely fill his bed with spiders or something.

He raised his wand to the room, then turned sharply to the group of snakes. "A few cheers would be great. Go Slytherin? Go Theodore?" You know, just to make this a bit more supportive.

Okay. Back to business. Theodore pointed his wand toward a squashed up pair of trousers on the floor, closed his eyes, and said, "Plic Vestimenta!" Perfect pronunciation, but nothing happened. Coughing shortly, he decided to try it with his eyes open this time.

"Plic Vestimenta!!!!!" Theo watched and..... VIOLA, IT FOLDED. He bounced into the air. Then it sunk in that he had loads of others to fold.

Ugh. Magic was exhausting.

Turning to the next shirt, Theo thrust his wand forward and said, with the same previous enthusiasm, "Plic Vestimenta!!!" And it worked again.

GOLD STAR?

He really wanted to try the older spell. Pssshhh, this one was eeeeeeasy.

Daichi gave the first year an encouraging smile. Even if he himself was a bit nervous. It had dawned on him that he was one of the people that was now representing his house. That EYES were on him and the little kid beside him. Having this in mind , Daichi fumbled a bit nervously with his fingers before he heard Kennedy.

A smile stretched on his face and he nodded his head. Yes, if they messed up then Kennedy would be there to help and...my my was that Joao?! Daichi pushed his glasses up a little bit and saw indeed the seventh year Slytherin talking to the Prefect. So he was going to help out too or what? Shaking his head to concentrate on the task ahead, the fourteen year old then heard a chant. He looked round to see a girl (addie) from his house cheering.

"Ready kid?" he asked the first year who's name he did not know and watched the boy do his learned charms on the clothes scattered all over the room. He flicked his wrist while the wand fell out of the wrist holster. Okay, just... concentrate on the brooms. Wait...maybe it was better if he went closer to them... Daichi looked at Kennedy for a second before nervously stepping forward. Okay, he got this...no panic. The room had been transformed back in the messy state it was before they had practised and as Daichi stood in front of the two brooms and saw the dust he wrinkled his nose. Even HE did not have this much dust in his bedroom.

"Liberum" he swished his wand in the air as he pointed it at the first broom. "Arbitrium" a clockwise turn "broom!" To his great surprise, the broom sprung to life! It hovered above the floor for a few seconds and Daichi's eyes twinkled as the object began to sweep the floor. But his amazement was not long last for the sweeping only lasted for about five seconds and the broom fell back on the floor. "S-s-sorry!" he quickly said and looked back at Kennedy, hoping he wasn't mad or something.

Right, why was he even thinking?! He needed to try and clean this room first before the other teams!

sweetpinkpixie 05-07-2012 11:31 PM

*stands here and just stares* eeerm, yush, we are here. had been sleeping til now

Kurumi had been busy dancing and sweeping with her broom off to the side when she heard the professor call everyone in but still gathered with the rest of the Gryffindors anyway. Gideon got a bit of an eyebrow raise at his comment about volunteering herself and him for the role. Sure, they were prefects, but their role was to guide...wasn't it? Looking around at the group gathered, Kurumi was confident that any of them could do this task, but her attention was drawn over towards the Slytherin group and poor West who was, surprisingly, very very quiet.

She didn't know the boy well, but she had a good enough first impression of him to know that there was something up.

Still, her focus needed to be on her lions right now. One person from the older group and another from the younger group? But how to choose? Doing things the democratic way seemed best, yeah? By a vote. It wasn't their job to point the finger and pick people, say you should do this or you shouldn't. At least not to the sixth year.

"I will do whatever you guys want me to do," Kurumi nodded. Whether that was represent their team as the older student or encourage the younger one from the sideline. "But maybe we should vote on those who volunteered?" Since that seemed to be the only fair way? "So...older students are Jade, Gideon, and myself?" For not at least. "And younger students are Sarah and Oichi?"

Meanwhile Kurumi's broom continued to sweep and dance beside her. Do DO! Dododo do do do dodododo...

Minerva smiled at Alyssa, "Okay Alyssa, if everyone is ready. Let's rock this." she smiled and turned to the room. What a mess she thought. She gave Alyssa one last look and went to the clothes. Pointing at the blue flowered button down shirt that was thrown wrinkled on the floor. ""Plic Vestimenta!" the shirt jumped and folded itself. Minerva smiled at herself. She loved doing this.

Then she moved to the next pair of black pants that were jumbled into a ball. Geeze who did all this she thought. Pointing her wand again "Plic Vestimenta!" the pants folded nicely and she moved them to sit near the nicely folded shirt. She looked at Alyssa to check how the sweeping was going.

She turned her attention to the four who'd be performing the spells. "We expect nothing else but a win," she said with a smirk. Except, this smirk was more of an encouraging smirk rather than a malicious one.

With that said, she stood back and waited for things to get underway.

"It was no problem," he grinned. It was pretty easy since they were all cooperating. He smirked at Sierra's comment. That was exactly what he they wanted.

SPOILER!!: Theo

The kid closed his eyes! Kennedy almost had a freaking out moment, but the kid tried it again - this time with his eyes open - and succeeded.

"That was great," Kennedy said. The kid had done TWO pieces of clothing in record time. "Keep it up, kid," he said, and then turned to Daichi.

SPOILER!!: Daichi

He did it...and the broom stopped.

"It's all right, Daichi,"
he said, grinning. It was okay, he just needed to concentrate a bit more. "Remember it's all about intent. Try it again," he encouraged. Kennedy not being a fan of being center of attention understood that it might get a bit nerve wrecking up there, especially if everyone wanted to win.
