"Plic Vestimenta, Plic Vestimenta, Plic Vestimenta." Beezus was still repeating the incantation, making sure to not forget it. And she was doing it in a sing song way. Naah, she won't care if anyone gets annoyed. As long as she wasn't hurting anyone, then she was going to continue with what she was doing. Moving to a further corner to have more concentration and avoid interruption, Beezus then placed the maroon colored shirt she had grabbed from the pile earlier on a vacant table, gripped her wand tightly, took a deep breath and tapped it while uttering, "Plic Vestimenta." ................. .................................... .............................................. She waited for something to happen. But a whole minute passed and nothing happened. Maybe her wand wasn't functioning properly anymore? EEEEH! What's was wrong? Why won't the incantation work? Annoyed, she looked at the shirt, to her wand and back to the shirt again. She needed MORE focus. More and more of it. |
Eying the Professor lady for a moment, Dylan smirked. Was it just him or was there an abundance of female teachers this term? Not that he was complaining...He'd be guaranteed not to miss a class. That much was for sure. Sighing as she started talking about the spell pronunciation and motions, Dylan lifted himself up out of his seat. After he'd walked and collected one of the brooms, he made his way back towards his area, immediately leveling the thing with a strange look. He could have Accio!d it over. That was a charm... *SIGH*...Was that how it worked with Quidditch brooms? They started out with ordinary, household sweeping brooms and layered them with SUPER charms? Bleh. Leveling his eyes on the ordinary broom once more, he attempted to focus...until he heard a familiar voice in the distance... Not. Her. Not right now. He would NOT look at her...He would NOT. To busy himself from doing just that, Dylan pulled his wand. Attempting to duplicate the Professor's swish and clockwise twirl, he winced. What had the words been again? Liberum Arbitrium Broom? He practically glared at the broom as he went through the motions and said the spell, "Liberum Arbitrium Broom!". Of course, it was an EPIC FAIL. Musing his hair, he attempted it once more, trying to focus his attention better on the broom moving...This only made him glare harder at the object. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom!" ...Fail. Again. |
SHE.NEEDED.TO.CONCENTRATE. And so, she started counting from one to ten. Yeap, that ought to keep her concentrated. But if not, then...she'd use another method. "nine...ten.." Sigh. Making sure the incantation was glued on her mind, she raised her wand and tapped the maroon colored shirt on the table while saying the incantaion. "Plic Vestimenta!" The eaglette inclined her head to the right as she waited for a result.. She could the sound of her watch ticktocking but still..nothing was happening with the shirt.....when suddenly....... ....it turned itself upside down, slowly folding the sleeves..until it laid there, neatly folded. For a second she thought she was just imagining things. But after a little while.. "YAAAAAAAAAAAA!" She's done it! Oh, yeah... She did and now was aware of it. Heck, counting did kept her nerves calm. She was almost flailing with that accomplishment that she quickly covered her mouth to suppress any cheer yells that she was about to let out. |

West did so want to show off awesome non-magical folding skills, but he supposed first he better show everyone how automatically awesome at this magic thing he was gonna be. Actually the easiest part was the incantation. West dutifully repeated it. "Plic Vestimenta." And he totally knew he had to focus and all of that. West did his best. "....Plic Vestimenta." A few more times. "Plic Vestimenta." He strutted forward to get a t-shirt and then got all ready. YEAH. FOCUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSING. "Plic Vestimenta!" He TAPPED the t-shirt and... nothing happened. The first year frowned. "Plic Vestimenta!" NOTHING. HIS WAND WAS BROKEN! IT WASN'T WORKING! "Plic Vestimenta! Plic Vestimenta! Plic Vestimenta!" FOCUSFOCUSFOCUSINTENTINTENTINTENT! ... it was no use. He glanced at the professor and then reached out with his fingertips. and hey presto! The shirt was folded perfectly in just a few seconds. ... nobody saw that, right? |
Okay. Take two. “This is insane. I can just ask the elves to sweep the floor for me.” He said as he picked up the broom and returned it to where he found it. “Fine. If I get to make this work, then I might just make anything do its thing.” He thought. “Not just a broom. It can be anything, I’m sure.” A slight mischievous smile can be seen on his face. He finally got the motivation he needed. “Here we go.” He muttered. Mordred inhaled, exhaled and rolled his shoulders a bit, and relaxed. His intent was clear. “Make that stupid broom sweep the floor.” He raised his wand arm and muttered the incantation. “Liberum Arbitrium BROOM!” A swish, and clockwise twirl of the wand, and the broom came to life. It began to sweep the floor slowly from side to side and followed the direction of Mordred’s wand. Smirk. Good. |
Minerva unraveled the pants she had just folded. She wanted to keep practicing. Taking out her wand she tapped the pants. "Plic stimenta" Minerva shook her head, no that didn't sound right. Why was she being so off today. She looked in her parchment to check on her notes. Plic Vestimenta, Plic Vestimenta, Plic Vestimenta she thought in her head. Minerva took a deep breath tapping the pants "Plic Vestimenta" the pants folded nice and neat again. |
Okay, Third try. The blonde guy took a very deep breath, focused his mind to this charm. Swish, Twirl, Liberum Arbitrium Broom! He thought. Then he swished and twirled his wand and said the incantations clearly. "Liberum Arbitrium BROOM!" and... The broom started to move, sweeping the floor. GOOD! |
You know who you are. *side/eyes* And then she was practically shrieking across the classroom with her squeaky voice...Side-eying the bless out of her, Dylan rolled his eyes, snatching up his broom and moving closer towards the corner. Seriously, did she HAVE to be so...HER? There were others in the room. Silly girl was throwing off his concentration... Swinging his attention back towards the broom, he raised his wand once more, trying to focus on the broom suddenly lifting and sweeping up dirt. Yes, dirt tracked in from a muddy Football practice...Allowing that imagery to calm him a bit, he smirked, about to cast the spell... HOWEVER, a very loud, obnoxiously annoying CLAPPING sound from across the room shook his focus AGAIN. Ugh, what was SHE so happy about anyway? Did she somehow trick that Jonathan boy into dating her? Pfft. That was probably where she was during the Welcome Feast. *SIDE/EYES* NOT his problem. Taking a few deep breaths and releasing them, Dylan eyed the offensive broom, deciding that this thing was not going to beat him. It was a broom! He could do this. It was a simple enough spell and the motion wasn't that difficult... Feeling a little bit of confidence forming, he steadied his wand arm, looking at the object with a frown. YOU ARE SWEEPING, BROOM...SWEEPSWEEPSWEEPSWEEP...A swish and clockwise twirl and the words “Liberum Arbitrium BROOM!” later, the broom sprung to life. SCORE! |
Zack paid very well attention to what the professor had to say and do it exactly in the same manner. After professor had finished saying what she needed to Zack grabbed his wand in his right hand and looked around to find a piece of cloth to practice his charm on. He got a cloth that looked like a shirt and kept it on a table. He grabbed the wand a it more tighter i his arm. Then pointing it at the piece of cloth he said "Plic Vestimenta" huh? what? it should work he had said it correctly then what's the matter? he thought. He went through the words professor had said again in his mind and realised that he didn't give a gentle tab on the cloth. Uh.. He tried to do it again with full confidence this time. He looked at his wand and then at the cloth giving it a gentle tab he said "Plic Vestimenta". The shirt started to fold itself automatically and a smile grew on Zack's face. He was so happy to have completed his work just in a second try that he felt so happy and proud of himself. He looked around to see if he could find the professor somewhere to show her his work. As he looked he saw many of the older students having problem doing their charm and finally he could see professor. He called out to her "Professor, i did it" he said smiling. |
SPOILER!!: Professor Bellaire Daaaaaaaaaaamn. Still no star. Theodore relaxed his chest and pouted. Right, proper wand-flickin' time now. Theo listened like a hawk because he was very worried about harming himself here.... Theodore moved over to a t-shirt that was lying on the floor. Okay, this was easy enough. ALTHOUGH HE WAS SCARED. This was the first magicing he had ever done. EVER. "Liberum Arbitrium SHIRT." OH, NO NO NO. THAT WAS THE WRONG SPELL. Theodore backed away and watched the shirt starting floating across the room and thwacking dust out of the floor. It was NERVES' fault. He had terrible nerves. "Nooooooo, didn't mean that." He said to his wand. "Uhh.... Plic Vestimenta!" He pointed at the crazy t-shirt and it stopped, sure, but it was still unfolded and extremely dusty now. He frowned. "PLIC VESTIMENTA." And yay, it folded. Kinda... Theodore looked over at West who had a perfectly folded shirt and he frowned again. GOODY-TWO-SHOES. When he looked back at his own, he brushed away some of the excess dust with the tip of his wand. Eh. Gold star? |
"he moved to the basket and pulled out a shirt. "Pay attention." She gave the shirt a gentle tap on the shirt and said Plic Vestimenta" The shirt quickly folded itself. She smiled at the neatly folded shirt. "See? Very simple." She moved across the room to the brooms. "Now this spell, you need to say the name of the object you are charming. Like this:Liberum Arbitrium Broom. Swish and clockwise twirl of the wand." She proceeded to do as she instructed and the broom sprung into action, sweeping on it's on free will."You can use this on any cleaning instrument." She stepped aside. "Now everyone take turns practicing. Older students there are enough brooms for everyone to practice on and enough clothing pieces for the younger ones."" Household spells? Oh wow. This was going to be easier than she thought. Twirling her wand in her fingers, she stepped forward to claim on of the brooms. Fair enough she had done this before, but she had to concentrate. Her eyebrows made their way together as she looked at the broom and practised thw wand movement. So.. making it sweep. Simple, right? Swish and clockwise turn of the wand. Again, fairly simple. Sighing, Thea cleared her throat. 'Liberum Arbitrium Broom..' She commanded, and copied the wand movements. She waited for a few minutes, mashing her lips together. Hm.. Thea was about to try the spell again when the broom quivered. Smiling triumphantly, the Gryffindor stepped back and watched the broom stand itself up and start to sweep. |

Mweh he wanted to learn how to fold! Not sweep the floor. But he dared not to come in between her instructions because maybe they would change activity later? Still with his wand in the wrist holster, Daichi decided to practise the incantation first. "Liberus Aritrium Broom..." no "Liberum" ooh that was right , right? "Arbutrium Broom" sounded like it, why were these latin words always so difficult?! Grabbing his phoenix feather wand out of his holster he held it at the ready as he advanced on one of the brooms. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom!" he shouted and swished and twirled the wand clockwise while aiming it at the broom. The broom itself levitated off the ground for a second....before it fell back down. Laying like a useless object in the messy room. Siiiigh |
SPOILER!!: Text cut ^_^ Bethan listened to the professor's instructions carefully trying not to miss out on ANYTHING. She didn't want to make a mistake. Was she a perfectionist? Maybe, but there was nothing wrong with wanting to get things right. She picked out a pale blue shirt from the basket that was covered in stains. Who knew how long it had been in that basket for. Bethan held her wand firmly in her hand and gave the shirt a tap and said the words 'Plic Vestimenta' . She almost jumped back as the shirt folded itself before her eyes. Had she really just done that? Did she do it right? |
Looking around as others were practicing the other spell as well, Nora stopped concentrating on the broom, which cleaned no more, and instead looked at a random shirt. Pointing her wand at it... she thought how much she'd like casting non-verbal spells, and since they were non-verbal, no one could ever figure out what she was trying to do. Plic vestimenta, she thought, concentrating on the shirt, but nothing happened. Sigh. "Plic vestimenta," she said out loud this time, and watched as it folded itself neatly. She still wasn't happy, though. She wanted to cast non-verbal spells! |

Snapping herself back to reality, Cass listened and noted each action carefully in her notebook as she watched Professor Bellaire cast the two spells effortlessly before turning back to the class. Oh dear Merlin, she was sure she was bound to mess this up. Like always. She glanced around the room for a moment, watching as her classmates managed to make the broom move. Maybe she should practice first? "Libertum-" No wait, that wasn't right "Liverum-" No,that was right either! Cass shook her head before trying once more "Liberum Arbitrium Broom" She finally managed to say, each syllable carefully pronounced. Then she tried again "Liberum Arbitrium Broom" and again "Liberum Arbitrium Broom" Maybe she was ready now? Gripping her wand tightly, the girl swished and twirled her wand in a clockwise motion, keeping it pointed towards an unclaimed broom while saying "Liberum Arbitrium Broom" One..two...three...Nothing. "Huh." She said with a shrug as she glanced down on her wand before glancing back up towards the broom that was still leaning against the wall "I guess I wasn't as ready as I thought." |
Oh, house-cleaning spells. Such big deal. Maybe--probably--it was for those... regular people who had to everything on their own. But for someone noble like himself, the only heir of Teixeira and Neves families, Joćo had never even touched a cleaning object, let alone actually doing it. It was something he had almost forgotten the words. It was... he wasn't going to do it. No. He would have house elves anyway. Or at the worst, some maid. He really didn't need to learn this, especially with all these other people around. On the other hand, there was the possibility of loss of points, serving a detention and not earning any points at all. It was a really nasty dilemma. Weighing those two options as the class started to practise the spells, he finally decided to give it a go--but only one go. Because he wanted to earn those points. And also not touch something like that ever again. Drawing his wand after about 7 indecisive minutes, he got a broom and swished his wand, said "Liberum--" twirled clockwise while saying "--Arbitrium Broom." There. Got it on his first try perfectly. The broom started to sweep the area around itself. After letting it sweep the floor for a full minute for the professor to see, he casted a "Finite," to stop it and smiled to himself. |
Oichi's eyes popped open as she watched the professor the professor teach them spells to clean room. This is so cool, magic will make cleaning so much simpler. And now, practice time. OIchi took out her wand, she was not certain of her ability cause she had only done a couple of simple spells to change things colors and make stuff colder. But nothing as complex as cleaning a room. She raised her wand and concentrated on a pink sweater on the bed, "Plic Vestimenta", the sweater rose intothe air and slowly folded one way and dropped. Not perfect just yet, but that was soooo cool and I did it. |
Ella unfolded the blouse again and ruffled it up into a ball on the table in front of her, wondering if even a mess like that could be folded with magic. Picking up the wand, she eyed the blouse curiously and tapped it with her wand. "Plic Vestimenta!" She said, focusing on the blouse. The second year watched with wide eyes as the crumpled ball that was the blouse was folded neatly. It looked perfect. Perfectly folded. How cool was that? "Wicked." She said, a smile on her face. This spell would definitely come in handy in her dormitory! |
Hmm... Huh? What? O______o Merlin's shorts! They are already using spells? He must have spaced out for a very long time. Half panicking, Xing withdraws his Poplar wand from his sleeve and makes way towards where the older group of students are. He extends his right arm, pointing his wand at one of the brooms as he prepares to cast the charm. Wait! He wasn't paying attention up until now. How in the world is he supposed to know how to perform the spell? Moving towards a few students who actually get the spell, Xing observe their wand movements and tries to listen to the incantation. After several observations made, he finally gained some confidence to perform the charm. Back to where the brooms are, Xing points his wand at one of the brooms (again) and musters up all his concentration. "Liberum..." Swish! "Arbitrium.. Broom!" And he makes a clockwise twirling motion. His voice was low, yet firm. Firm enough to animate the broom as it starts to sweep... But the spell wears off within ten seconds. |
Refusing to bow to her earlier failure, Cass gripped her wand even tighter in her hand as she lifted her arm to point at the broom, took a deep breath and summoned every once of focus that she had at the moment. Focus. Focus. Focus! "Liberum-" She said with a swish of her wand "Arbitrum" Rotating the wand in a clockwise motion "Broom!" The blonde stared at the thing intently, waiting for any sign of movement as she mentally willed the old broom to move. Twitch. The broom then twitched one more time as it lifted itself off the wall, shakily at first, before finally managing to glide across the floor, sweeping any particles of dust that happened to be in its way. She seriously wanted to cheer right now, but it might lose them points - so instead, the young Slytherin simply settled for a really happy grin. |
Louisa continued to watch the broom moving and sweeping for about... thirty seconds before it started to jerk around again. "Finite," she quickly casted and tried the spell once again. "Liberum.." swish, "Arbitrum broom.." rotating clockwise. The broom less jerkily sprang to life and started moving around in circles, sweeping the floor a bit chaotically. Sighing, "Finite," and she closed her eyes shut for a moment before focusing and orgnizing her energy. Whatever that meant. "Liberium..." SWISH "Arbitrum broom.." clockwise circle. The broom straightened up smoothly then and it started moving around in a small space sweeping. Satisfied, Louisa watched it doing its job. |
Okay. So she was folding clothes. Hmmm. That could come in useful really. Because Indy pretty much hated folding her clothes. It was going to take her ages to unpack and fold all of her clothes. But maybe using this charm would come in pretty useful. Okay. So tiis new charms teacher might be some what okay. Indy placed her random t shirt that she would be folding down. Hmm. This had better worked. She really hoped so anyway. Pulling out her wand she practiced the wand movement a couple of times. Just the make sure that she could kind of do it right. She wanted to make sure that she could actually do it before she tried it with the incantation. Didn't really want to be blowing a whole in the charms class room or something. Okay. She was satisfied that she could do the wand movement. Now to match it with the incantation. "Plic Vestimenta" She said as confident as she could as she did the wand movement. Nothing happened. "Fiddle sticks." She frowned shaking her head. Composing herself again she performed the wand movement and combined it with "Plic Vestimenta." The t-shirt kind of moved a little bit. Hmm. Interesting. It hadn't folded though. Not good. |

After getting their directions, Aspen subtly poked at Cornelius's elbow. She wanted to move. And, naturally, she wanted him to move with her. They were clustered and she felt confident she could do this charm with her eyes closed. But if they moved... she COULD do this charm with eyes closed. And possibly mouth closed after she perfected it without detection from the Professor. Aspen weaved among her fellow students until she got to the end of the line, closest to the corner. She was chanting Liberum Arbitrium under her breath with every step. Easy. Aspen flashed a glance to the Professor, then put her back to her before practicing the wand movement once. Again, easy. Aspen swished and preformed a practiced clockwise twirl. Then, without pausing a beat, Aspen put it all together - "Liberum Arbitrium Broom." Done. Broom was perked and ready to sweep. Hmmm. Now to control it... Aspen turned her eyes on Cornelius to see if he was having luck. She was sure he'd get this one easy, too. So... she glanced over at little brother across the room. Hmmm.... |
Sigh. Sierra just looked at her broom. At least she'd gotten it to push itself off the wall and move just a little. Even if it had fallen down a split second later. She gave a slight frown as she scooped it up off the ground and put it back into the same position she'd had it in before. She thought she'd done so well. She'd pictured what she wanted to do, had strong intent...everything! She knew it wasn't typical to get something in a matter of a few tries, but it still annoyed her when it took a while. She pointed her wand toward the broom and got another good mental picture of what she wanted it to do. She imagined it moving across the floor--left, right, left, right. She imagined the messy bedroom being sparkling clean. She swished her wand then turned it in a clockwise twirl. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom!" she exclaimed. She held her breath as the broom pushed itself off the wall and stood straight up. It slowly moved to the left...and then to the right. The broom swept for a few seconds longer before becoming wobbly and falling again. |
Sophie unfolded the shirt one more time. She wanted to try it again and again until she had it all nice and perfect! Tapping the shirt with her wand, she concentrated reeeeeeally hard again. This time she kind had an idea of what she was doing. Blame those long sleeves! "Plic Vestimenta!" Hard stare. Go go go! And the shirt started moving again. Faster than before, but still a little slowly. Gooo! Sophie ws still concentrating, as if she was trying to do a spell without using her wand. And after a few seconds, the shirt was there, all pretty and folded. Just a little part of one of the sleeves that was in the wrong place. But it had been a little faster this time! Heh! |
