There was a crisp, cool breeze outside, indicating that the holidays weren't too far away now. The leaves blow across the ground, racing you down to the greenhouses where Professor Bentley is waiting in Greenhouse Three.
Inside, Professor Bentley is standing beside two long rows of puffapod plants, each with pods bursting with seeds, just waiting to be harvested. Most of the students would recognise them from the previous year ... how time has flown! Stools are arranged along the perimeter of the raised flower bed, waiting for the students to be seated.

Sophie was still staring at her pretty Fireseed bush when she noticed there were some of her classmates that were done with the work too. She got up and walked with some of them to where the box was, and placed her mole skin pouch in it. She looked back at her Fireseed bush and decided to go back and kneel down by it and wait for the instructions there.
Carefully enough not to break it or burn herself, she stroke her bush softly, with a smile on her face. Sophie was really proud of herself for taking such good care of her own little plant.

Zhenya was holding her first fire seed inside her pouch. She was so relieved she didn't freeze everything in sight, and hoped her one seed would return to its fiery heat soon. She needed to get another seed, and thought perhaps she could go a bit deeper into her bush. She looked between some leaves and saw that there were two seeds relatively close together. Perfect!
Pulling up her gloves again to make sure they were nice and tight she put her wand close and said "Glacius," whilst pointing it at the two close together seeds. Nice work, she stopped as the seed began turning brown, and reached to get them.
"OWW!" she said, extracting her hand quickly. Something had burned her hand. But how? She was wearing the gloves. As she watched the seed, as soon as she had retracted her arm it was red hot again. Obviously she didn't freeze it for long enough. Well, better than freezing it too much and killing it, she thought. She did it a bit longer this time, until she was sure it would remain brown. She put her hand between the leaves and pulled out two, not hot at all, seeds which were brown. She put them in her pouch with the other seed and looked around to see if she was behind. Three seeds to get.

The young Ravenclaw turned the fire seed bush around several times trying to find one more seed, but didn't see any. Finally she used her dragonhide gloved hand to push away some of the brush from the bottom of the plant and found one. Being extra careful not to freeze any of the leaves, she pointed her wand at the seed and said "Glacius." Once the seed was sufficiently cooled, she picked it up and placed it in the pouch. Then she closed the pouch, returned it to the box, and waited for the lesson to continue.

Bentley was moving full speed ahead with this lesson. It seemed that she wanted her students to get in as much practice as they needed, which was fantastic on Bentley's part. Then again Selina was biased, the herbologist was the redhead's favorite teacher- she could do no wrong in Selina's eyes.
After Bentley instructed the class on the next portion of their assignment, Selina stood up and went to collect her moleskin pouch from the front of the room. With it in hand she moved back to her station and looked at the little bush in front of her. For a moment she just took a moment to collect her thoughts. This seemed like it could go wrong on so many accounts so she wanted to be sure that she was thinking one hundred percent clearly on her task at hand.
Once her mind was clear, she drew her wand and prepared to cool down the burning hot seed in front of her eyes. It was so red that the color was almost glowing off of the bush. Magic was awesome. "Glacius," she said pointing her wand at the plant. She kept the wand pointing at the seed until it started to dull in color. Finally it was brown and she stuffed her wand in her pocket to stop the seed from dying. Bentley would be very put out if she became a plant murderer. Then, with her gloves, she took the little seed and stuffed it in the pouch.
One done. Then she took out her wand and waited to do the second seed. She eyed a particularly large seed with her blue eyes and prepared to freeze it enough that she could touch it. Now that she had done one seed she was certain that she could handle the next one. With a little more than a bit of confidence she said, "Glacius." However, because Selina had been overly confident after her first success, she froze her second seed. With wide eyes Selina whispered, "I'm a plant murderer..."
Nate went over and got a pouch. He then found his plant. He then knelt down by it. Wierd he never thought he would be kneeling by a bush tht could catch stuff on fire. Now there is another thing he can check of on his to do at hogwarts list. Anyways he pointed his wand at one of the seeds and said "Glacius." He saw that it was cooling down. But he was caught up in so much excitement he killed the seed. When he got out of his little transe he saw that the seed was dead. Oh well like the teacher said just take a breather and try again.
He pointed his wand at a different seed and said "Glacius." Thankfully he knew when to stop it this time. When the spell stopped he picked the seed. When he picked up the seed it felt like the palm of his hand was on fire. He put it in the pouch. He took off his glove and saw a rash that went from the bottom of his palm to the tip of his pointer finger. But it wasn't that bad just a little burn. Once he would be done with the lesson he would wah it off with cool water. He pointed his wand at another seed and said "Glacius." He then picked up the seed and put it in the pouch. He again pointed his wand at a different seed and said once again "Glacius." Once it was cooled off he picked it up and put it in the pouch.
She should have known that they weren't done with the fire seed bushes. Although hopefully now that they were harvesting some seeds they wouldn't have to deal with them again after this. What with it being her worst nightmare and all.
Amelia walked to the front of the room and grabbed a pouch before walking back to her bench and putting her gloves on and staring down at her plant. This could either go really well or really badly. If she killed a seed she wouldn't be too worried about what Bentley would do to her. But what if she accidentally killed her whole plant? She was sure the Professor would be completely unimpressed if she did so. She might even take points.
Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath Amelia let herself calm down before she pulled her wand out of her pocket and focused on her bush. "Glacius," she said, focusing completely on one of the seeds, and gratified to see that she wasn't having an affect on the plant itself! She stared intently at the seed as it dulled, finally turning brown. Once that happened she ended the spell quickly, putting her wand down to pick up the seed, before placing it in the pouch.
That wasn't too difficult.
Picking up her wand once more she turned to another seed, this time casting "Glacius," with much more confidence. Confidence that was repaid by her seed turning brown in colour once more. Smiling happily Amelia picked it up and placed it in the pouch with her first seed.

"Right well done class!" she said clapping her hands together. "Now come and get a flame resistant mole skin pouch and find your bush!"
Seren summoned a box that had been sitting away in the corner, and removed the lid. Flame resistant mole skin pouches for everyone. "Come and get 'em." She wasn't about to go around and hand them out, they were all capable of walking.
"Now remember you want to cool the seeds only, not the whole plant..." that was very vital. "Also make sure you don't FREEZE the seed, you only want to cool it down enough so you can pick it off with ease. "Once you've done that, put your pouch of seeds back into this box here and then we'll move on to the last activity. I promise you it'll be a beauty."

Amethyst smiled and listened intently to the professor's orders. She certainly didn't want to freeze any of the seeds of kill the plant. And she definitely did not want to harm other plants or people.
She went over and retrieved a flame resistant mole pouch. She rubbed it smiling. It was rather nifty. After getting a pouch, she went and found her fire bush, Lexi. "Why hello, Dearest." She giggled.
Amethyst clapped her hands when it was time to harvest seeds. She took out her wand and pointed it to one of the seeds. She thought about what she wanted to do. "Glacius." She said clearly.
She did this three times to gather three seeds.

Minerva needed to get her final seed. She pointed her wand "Ok chuck one more seed and I won't do this spell on you anymore." she smiled at the plant. She hoped talking to it made her succeed better. "Glacius" the final seed became frozen and Minerva picked it off. Placing it in the pouch she tied the pouch shut and walked it back to the box near Professor Bentley. Then she made her way back to her workstation and waited for what to do next.

Amethyst smiled as she counted the seeds, making sure there were three. She placed them into the mole pouch. She smiled as she knew she was going to have to use the spell again. She still needed three more seeds.
She pulled her gloved on more, making sure they were not loose. She spotted the seeds she want to cool next and went into concentration mode. You want to only cool the seeds. She pointed her wand to the seeds spoke clearly. "Glacius."
She pick off the three seeds and placed the seeds into the fire resistant mole pouch.

After having three seeds safely tucked away, Zhenya looked around for another one, or few, easy to get seeds. Most of them were hidden slightly but nonetheless easy to get to compared to the other ones she got last time.
She picked her wand up again and aimed it at a small area where there were two seeds sitting together. Perfect! She aimed very carefully just to hit that one small area, and said "Glacius," and the wind blew from her wand and hit the seeds. She waited again until it went brown, the shade she had picked the other two. She couldn't remember the first one. When it had reached that same brown, she pulled her wand back, stopped the charm and reached over to pull off those two brown seeds. She put them into her pouch quickly so that they wouldn't get hot soon enough and burn her... again. Now there were 5 seeds in her pouch!

Now to get the rest of the seeds he needed to collect.
Gideon was doing his best to set his mind solely on what he had to do before setting out to do it. "Glacius," he cast once more aiming at another seed, waiting for a reaction as well. It seemed to have worked again so he reached for the seed only to move his hands back away from the heat still generated from it. Guess he hadn't gotten it cold enough, the Gryffindor quite thankful for the heavy gloves he wore protecting him from the burns he no doubt would have had without them.
Focus...focus...Lets try that again.
"GLAY-see-us," he repeated, applying the spell once more and cooling the fireseed off much more this time to avoid further incident. Gideon then tentatively reached for it and took hold to free it as well. Once loose, he added it to the bag with its brother before repeating the process another two times so that he had four seeds if he wasn't mistaken with his counting.

Come and get 'em?! What were they--a herd of cows?
Nevertheless, Sierra left her workstation and headed up to the box of moleskin pouches. Honestly, hadn't the woman ever heard of charms? She could have easily magicked them to make their way around the room. Sierra reached for a pouch then headed to locate her bush.
Hmm... She peered down at the one closest to her. Nope, not her bush. Then she went to the next closest bush. Nope. Not her's either. Sierra searched for what must have been a good five minutes before she found the bush she was looking for.
There it sat, shining upon her with the strong glow from the seeds. She flicked her wand out her holster and looked at the bush for a few moments before deciding to get started. Alright...she needed to choose a seed, so that her aim was right. It didn't really matter which one, so as long as she got the seeds she needed. Then a second later and aiming at the seed of her choice, Sierra said, "Glacius!" The little seed began to ice over, which threw Sierra for a pleasant surprise. A second later, the seed turned a brownish color, and Sierra scooped it up and dropped it into her moleskin pouch.
With one seed down and a few to go, Sierra aimed her wand at a different seed. "Glacius!" she said, causing the second seed to ice over, as well. When it turned brownish, Sierra scooped it up, too, and added it into the pouch.
Now all she needed was a few more seeds she held her wand and said once again, "Glacius" looking at the seeds it seemed to change like the last time. She moved them around with her wand and placed them in the pouch. *She sat her wand down again and looked at the pot and everything in it. Looking up she found others doing the same as she was. Now that she believed she was done she waited for the next instructions.*

With two seeds now pocketed, er...pouched, she guessed...Sierra studied the bush, looking for another seed to freeze. It really didn't matter. Not much. The more she studied the bush, the more she realized that all the seeds were glowing about the same amount. None of them appeared much hotter or cooler than the other. So, yeah. The seed she chose really didn't matter.
Sierra finally chose a seed that looked like it was easy to get to. A lot of the seeds were behind other parts of the bush, so she overlooked those completely. Pointing her wand at the seed she'd chosen, Sierra said, "Glacius!" When the seed froze over and turned a brownish color, Sierra scooped it up and added it to the moleskin pouch. Quickly moving her wand to the seed not even an inch away, Sierra cast again. "Glacius!" The seed followed suit--iced over and turned brown. Sierra added it to the pouch, too.

Amethyst nearly forgot to add the pouch to the box at the front of the class. She smiled and walked over. She gently placed the pouch into the box and giggled to herself. "Professor, how long would it take for the seeds to cool in the soil on their own?" Honestly she was very curious to know. After all it did take a fire to die down on its own as well.

despite Oakey's right foot feeling extremely cold and his one glove now frosted over, he slipped on the glove. Brrrrrrrr it was cold once his hand slipped all the way into his glove. Walking over to the bushes lightly on his right as he was still not so used to the feel of one warm shoe and the one cold. He found his pot with his initials on them. taking the pot he walked back to his station and set it down nicely in front of him. Holding his wand in his right hand now. Oakey looked for his first seed and cast Glacius The cool breeze shot from the tip of his wand and hit the tiny red seed. He watched as the seed turned to a cool brown and he plucked it off with his not cold hand.
Right underneath the previous seed laid a second one. Pointing his wand at this one he cast Glacius This one hit and it changed colors but the seed had frozen over completely and died. This one must have felt some of the previous spell. Oakey had thought. Ill try for one further away Turning his pot he found another good seed and cast the Glacius. This seed like the first one changed from red to brown. Oakey plucked this one from the bush and placed it in the pouch.

Clapping her hands together, all smiles, Seren continued. "Now gather your things, you will need your dragon hide gloves and your wand for the next activity, so quick, come, follow me!" she called out brightly, gesturing for them to exit greenhouse three with her.
"We're going to be checking on our fireseed bushes now, and collecting their seeds as well," she said as she led the way to greenhouse two.
"Keep up! Keep up!"
Once there, she opened the door and made her way in. They were all following her, yes? Good. "Wasima dear, a little light please?" she asked, gently stroking the Ivy's leaves as she continued to walk through the greenhouse.. the students trailing behind her. The Ivy parted it's leaves a little, letting a low light filter into the greenhouse, not enough to kill or harm the plants, but enough so they weren't walking blindly. "Thank you."
Coming to a halt in front of the fireseed collective, Seren waited for the students to assemble, mentally counting their heads as they arrived. Mmhhmm, they didn't appear to have lost anyone.
"Last lesson many of you mentioned that fireseeds need to be cooled off before they can be collected, so before we start collecting them, that's what we need to learn."
"There are two common methods for cooling down fireseeds, the first is to shake them off their branches and let them cool on the soil, but that takes too long, so you're going to master the second method, the Freezing Charm." Otherwise they may as well watch grass grow. The older students were probably familiar with the Freezing Charm already, but the younger ones wouldn't have a clue. Bless them.
"The incantation for the Freezing Charm, is Glacius... GLAY-see-us... GLAY-see-us... Glacius," she repeated for clarification.
Withdrawing her own wand, Seren decided a demonstration of the charm was in order. Picking up a loose leaf from the floor she held it up for the class to see. "Glacius," she said pointing her wand at it, allowing the ice cold air to waft over the leaf, away from her gloved fingers. "All you need to do is aim, but remember to speak clearly and calmly, if you're panicked or unclear then you risk freezing more than just the target or even blowing it up." And neither would be a pleasant experience. "Remember, when the time comes to perform the charm on the seeds you need to be focused so that you can control how much you freeze it... we don't want you extinguishing the seeds completely. Just so it's cool enough to be picked."
"Now find yourself an object or some leaf litter and give it a go. I suggest you wear your gloves for this if you're not wearing them already."
OOC: After moving from greenhouse 3 to greenhouse 2 you are to practice the charm in 3 POSTS!1. (this includes moving and receiving instructions) Practicing the Incantation WITHOUT your wand 2. Practicing the charm on an object or leaf litter and 3. Practicing the charm again. DO NOT start on the plant, OR ELSE. Remember to NUMBER your posts! You have 24 hours to complete this part of the lesson.

Vickers neared the box and picked up a moleskin pouch for himself, then swung by to pick up his fireseed bush. He lay the pot on his worktable, pausing for a moment to regard the bush with its lovely glow. Ok now for harvesting....
He selected the seed at the lowest part of the bush, hovering his wand over the warm glow "Glacius" he uttered, opting to keep his wand moving over the seed instead of pointing at a spot, so that the freezing charm would fall over it gently and evenly. He did this technique a few times, the red seed slowly turning into a nice shade of reddish brown. He lowered his wand and reached out to pick up the cooled fireseed-- it was still warm, but it was cool enough for him to twist it off and drop into the moleskin pouch.

Oakey felt like he finally had a good routine. Cool down one seed pluck it then turn the bush to avoid freezing any on that same side. He wiggled his toes in his right shoe to see if that would help them warm up a bit. He also removed his hand from his frosted glove blew on his fingers, curled and uncurled them before placing his hand back into the glove.
Turning the plant first Oakey then pointed his wand once more at another fire seed. Glacius. This one also successfully turned from a Hot red to a cool brown, he picked it from the bush and placed it in the pouch with the other two seeds.
Turning the bush yet again. Oakey cast Glacius at his fourth seed. Just like the first three this one changed to a cool brown and Oakey took it from the bush. Spinning the bush he got to the fifth seed and repeated the process, and again with the 6th seed. Taking them both from the bush and placing them into the pouch.
With his pouch now filled with the required six seeds. Oakey strode over to the box with a slight skip on his right foot as every time that foot took a step, the shoe would send cold shivers up his body. placing the pouch into the box he walked weirdly back to his bush removed his frozen glove and placed it next to his bush hoping that it would warm the glove up some.

Reason: crunched on time
After Kennedy went up to retrieve a mole skin pouch he went back to his work area and rubbed his hands together. It wasn't because he was cold, but because he was excited!
Kennedy whipped out his wand once more. He pointed it as a seed and concentrated. He wanted to cool the seed down, not freeze it. After making sure what his intent would be he said, "Glacius!" Not too long after that he noticed the seed go from red to brown and stopped.
That should do it, right? He was going to poke the seed when he felt a slight heat radiate from the plant. It was still hot-ish and he wasn't going to risk getting burned. So, he pointed his wand at it again. "Glacius!"
This time the seed turned a deeper brown and when he went to poke it, there was not searing heat radiating from it. It was warm to the touch, but not to the point that it could burn. When Kennedy plucked the seed he had not noticed that he actually got two for the price of on. Maybe that's why it took two tries to cool it down. Silly him.
Gathering the two now cooled down seeds, he placed them inside the mole skin pouch.
Ryan looked around,All there was to see was people saying the spell and collecting the seeds. He looked at the gorund and found a seed.''Glacius.''He said grinning at the sight of it.He picked it up and popped it up in his pouch.
He searched along the ground trying to find more seeds. This had to be the easiest class he had ever done.He had only had to get 5 and had already had 3.

Kacie walked up to get a flame resistant mole skin pouch, before heading to find her bush which didn't take to long. "Hello Sprout I missed you," she said, with a smile as she greeting her fireseed bush remembering the name she had given it the last time. She smiled, happy that her bush was actaully doing well with a few seed that she would need to pick off. Before she started doing anything she reached into her bag and pulled out her dragon hide gloves and put on one. Now she was ready to harvest the seeds on her bush.
She pointed her wand to the first seed and muttered the spell. "Glacius." Kacie watched as the seed went from red to brown, indicating that it was ready to be picked off. She used the hand she had her glove on to pick off the first seed, doing this process again.

Moving on... Stella was still nervous about using the Freezing charm on her little fire seed bush, but that was what she was going to have to do. At least she was fairly confident she could control the charm, but she still lightly kicked the still-frozen rock on the floor, only moving it a couple inches, before she went over to retrieve one of the mole skin bags from Professor Bentley. She just had to make sure she didn't freeze the seeds. Returning to her plant, wand still at the ready from the earlier practice, she gave it a smile. "How are you today, mon petit?," she asked quietly, kneeling down so she was at the plant's level. At least her stockings would prevent some of the cold from seeping through as she knelt n the ground. "I just need a few of your seeds, and then you can go back to growing." Hopefully.
Focusing on the seed nearest to herself, she pointed her wand at it and murmured the charm. "Glacius." Being quieter helped her concetrate on not turning the seed into a little ball of ice, and she cut the charm off as soon as the seed took on a brownish color. Delicately removing it from the branch, she slipped it into the pouch. "See? that wasn't that bad, was it?" She didn't care if others thought she was odd for talking to the plant. It was another way for her to remember not to accidentally damage it, after all, and after a slight pause, she shifted the pot around to locate a second seed, then repeated her method. Quiet spellcasting and split-second timing, and the result was a second and then third cooled seed in her pouch. Half done, but she sat back slightly to take a break. Her nerves were still a bit on edge after all, even though so far she hadn't slipped up.

Wand pointed at the fire seed bush, Kennedy's forehead creased in concentration. There were three fire seeds beside each other. Now, his dilemma here was that he wasn't sure if the freezing charm would work on three of those seeds at the same time. Hmm, well, this is were he could put his skills to practice, right? RIGHT!
"Glacius!" he said, moving his wand to the first seed then to the second and lastly to the third. He kept his concentration and repeated that until the seeds turned brown. His hand hovered over the seeds, which reverberated heat off them still. "Glacius!" he repeated and did the same thing again.
The seeds turned darker brown and he stopped. They were finally nice to the touch. He plucked each of them off the branch and tucked them inside the pouch.
