Amethyst was happy, yet sad that she was done. She had to tidy up now. She cleaned the surface in which she had worked on. She pointed her wand to her scalpel speaking softly. "Scourgify." She took off her gloves, placing them neatly beside the clean scalpel. Taking her apron off, she folded it, placing it neatly under the table.

Pod still enclosed safely in her hand, Sierra spun around to read the next step in the instruction list. Collect the seeds into the bags provided, remove the remaining membrane from the plant by simply pulling it off the stem and place it in the compost heap. Alright. That sounded easy enough, plus, she was nearly done. Only one more step after this one, and that was just cleaning up.

Sierra retrieved one of the provided bags and began dropping the seeds inside. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. She checked the bag again. Yup. All five were there. Now, time to remove the remaining membrane from the plant. Sounded sort of disgusting, but at least it was a plant and not some creature. She'd hate to have to dig through some creature's guts.

She pulled the membrane away from the stem then tossed it into the compost heap. Well, that did it then. All she had to do now was clean up, right?

Brooke pulled out her notebook, and her writing utensil. She quickly jotted down the notes.
She looked at step one, and grabbed her gloves and apron to put on. She slid the gloves on her hands, and rubbed them together to get a quick feel for them. Then she layed the top part of her apron on her shoulders, and tied it into a bow in the back.

Sierra grinned when she read the last set of instructions. Tidying up meant things were coming to a close, and she loved when things came to a close. Well, things like lessons and school-related activities, that is. With her wand, she scourgify'ed the area, taking care to really focus on the place she'd worked at the most. "Scourgify!" she said, aiming first at one side of the table. "Scourgify!" she said again, aiming at the opposite side.

She spent a few more minutes cleaning up places around her work table then putting all the supplies away. When she was finally finished, she stood back and waited for the lesson to move on.

Sophie was smiling while listening to Professor Bentley speak and as soon as the instructions appeared on the blackboard, she started copying them down.



When she was done writing, she looked under her workstation and ducked to get an apron and a pair of latex gloves. Placing the gloves over her parchment, she held the apron in front of her and shook it a little. Then, sticking her tongue out, Sophie tied the apron behind her back. When she was done, she grabbed one of the gloves and put it on. It was easier than the ones they had to wear for the healing seminar, since they could touch its outsides. Phew! With a grin, she put on the other glove and moved her fingers to feel if they fitted. All good!

Angelina smiled and looked down at her work space, it really wasn't messy. Just a few things here and there. She picke up the things she just and placed them where she got them. She then wet and dried her work space making sure it was clean for the next person. Angelina looked around her work space now, it looked better. With a smile she open up her notes and crossed off step five. Also she made sure she was done with everything, and she was. Now to sit and wait to know what she will be doing next in this Herbology lesson.

Okie dokie. Now that she had gathered her five red seeds/beans out of the Puffapod, it was time to take of that yummy looking membrane. Heh. Delish.

Ellie took her Puffapod beans and carefully removed the membrane of each one. One by one, she put them in the calico bag, just like professor Bentley and all the other students had done. Once the beans were in, she put all the membraney goodness in the compost pile.

Compost stew anyone?

Sophie crossed the first step of her notes before ducking under her workstation once more to get a scalpel and calico bag. She was really excited to begin! Some of her classmates were already collecting seeds from the membrane of the Puffapod and they looked really cool!

She went to get a Puffapod. She wanted a bright colored one, so she glanced around and grabbed an orange seeded one. Woop! Sophie carefully walked back to her work station, not shaking the plant too much. It looked like it was pregnant of something!

Holding the scalpel steadily, she placed it on the top of the Puffapod and pushed it into the plant. Slowly, she dragged it downward until the bottom of the Puffapod. She blinked a couple of times and stared at the incision she had just made. That was just... SO COOL! She had a wide smile on her face.

Gideon looked around for the calico bag he had been left with all the other supplies, finally finding it under the parchment he had been using to take notes. Moving it from its hiding spot, the 5th year opened it out and began adding the harvested seeds within for safe keeping.

One...two...three...four...five.

With the seeds taken care of, the Gryffindor returned his attention to the pod and more exactly, the membrane that was now half inside and half outside since it had moved as he had harvested.Grabbing hold of it, he pulled, releasing it from the stem before setting it in the compost collection.

Onto the fun work! Sophie clapped her hands together and widened her smile. WOOP!

She put one of her hands on the opposite side of the incision she had just made and inserted her right hand into it. She felt the gooeyness all around her hand. Awesome! She moved her finger around, searching for the seeds. Feeling something touch the back of her hand, she turned it to grab a seed and pull it out of the membrane. Whoa! It was kind of big for a seed! And orange! Sophie loved it! It was really pretty.

She held the seed with her left hand and reinserted her right one into the incision again. She did that four more times and now was holding five bright orange seeds. Cool!

"Okay... Dr Kacie ready for surgery. Operation harvesting the seeds," she said, giggling as she made sure her gloves and apron was on perfectly. Once she had her puffapod she examined it for the best place to make her incision, before she picked up her scalpel. She carefully placed the tip of the scalpel at the top and made a straight cut all the way down to the bottom.

Sophie stared at the seeds for a while. They were indeed really cool! She wiped off the gooey thing that was still around them and placed them into the calico bag in front of her.

Looking back at the Puffapod, Sophie held it with her left hand once more and pulled off the remaining membrane from the stem with her right hand. She then held the slimy membrane with both hands, went to the compost heap and placed it there. Eek! That did look kind of gross.

Glenn crossed off her last activity in journal and read the next one. Okay, first she'd actually need a pod. She walked over and chose a brightly coloured one, it looked like Sophie had the same idea as her.

She brought it back to her workplace and set it down on the table carefully. Right, a scalpel. Glenn lifted it tentatively and made the incision at the top and dragged it downward until it was at the bottom.

Glenn let out the breath she was holding and glanced at everyone elses progress, Some people were already collecting the seeds, she decided she better get to work on that soon.

Kacie smiled as she proceeded to the next step from her notes, thinking that she was doing a good job so far. She sat her scalpel to the side, before sticking her gloved hand inside the puffapod. "Ahhh....sooooo slimy." she cried, as she moved her around in search for the seeds she needed to collect. The first time she pulled her hand out she only had two seeds, so she stuck her hand back in to search for more. She pulled out another two after that, before searching once more to make sure there wasn't anymore. The slim oozed out onto her workstation as she found the fifth and final seed. Despite the this being a messy task and having to stick her hand inside a puffapod, she was actually enjoying the lessen. She really didn't mind getting messy from time to time.

Now it seemed all there was left to do was clean up whatever mess might have been made. That was simple enough out of all the tasks except maybe the first one where all that was done was simple preparation. Removing anything he wanted to keep, like his notes, Gideon then took out his wand figuring the simpliest way to tidy up was with it. "Scourgify," he cast carefully, setting it on his work area to get rid of any remaining membrane he missed as well as anything else that needed to be disposed off.

There...all done. Now all that was left to do was wait quietly for any further word from Professor Bentley.

Glenn crossed out the last instruction and moved her scalpel out of the way so that it would be near impossible for her to knock it and cut herself. Now, on to the next one. Ugh, this task. Okay, shh Glenn you haven't tried it yet. Glenn made sure that she had her gloves on nice and tight and made sure there was no way her apron would fall off. Okay, she was ready for this.

She put her hand inside the incision and immediately through the glove felt the sliminess inside, she giggled instead of feeling repulsed and searched around for the seeds they were supposed to collect. One, two, three. She pulled them out through the incision she had created and wiggled her slimed fingers before reaching in again and finding one more seed. Glenn reached around inside it and found no others so she pulled the one seed out. Four seeds.

Sophie went back to her workstation and took off her gloves. She grabbed her wand and cast the spell she was getting really used to using. "Scourgify!" Oh! She could finally see the effects of this spell! Everything around her that was before really slimy and gooey was now looking almost perfectly clean! Maybe just once more. "Scourgify!" Ah! Now everything was spotless! Sophie smiled while putting both of her gloves - that were now cleaned - in front of her. She got her quill and crossed over the less steps she had copied from the blackboard.



Sophie put the quill down by her gloves and waited for the next instructions.

Kendra examined the list that she had scrawled hastily as the Professor had informed them what must be done in the activity. She was feeling more used to what she had to do than before as her bushling, still hidden in the greenhouse, still seemed to be surviving. Which was always a good sign. Plus, she was enjoying this subject at the moment, it was practical, and that was always good.

First things first was the protective gear. Typical things you would find in a muggle science lab back at home. Reaching under her workspace, Kendra fished out what she needed, the scapel and the gloves. She hated the texture of latex gloves, she really did, so wanted this over as quickly as possible. She pulled them onto her hands and held the scapel, getting used to the feeling of it in her hand. Following this she picked up her apron which she had slung over her chair earlier on, and fastened it around her, doing the knot twice so it wouldn't become undone.
She was ready for action.

Now that she had her pod sliced open, Stella lightly ran her finger along the incision one more time as she worked herself up to sticking her hand inside. Even though she had gloves on, she was still a little concerned about the slime. It reminded her a little too much of potions, some of the ingredients they had to use, but she needed to keep moving before Professor Bentley moved on with the lesson. She wasn't about to fail the lesson just because of a little nervousness about slime. She wasn't about to fail the lesson in any way, and with that in mind, she steeled herself to start harvesting. Shifting her hand deeper into the pod, she let herself adapt to the squishy feeling before searching for seeds.

Finding one, she pulled it out of the pod, cleaning it off like the professor had demonstrated and then setting it on top of the calico bag until she finished this step. Reaching back into the pod, she continued locating the seeds and removing them, silently counting each one. Once she got to five, she reached inside the pod one last time just to check, then sat back. It seemed like she'd cleaned it out, so time to move on to the next step.

After putting her required protective gear on, Kendra carefully ticked off the box next to the instruction. She liked keeping her notes, they always seemed helpful in the future. Especially if she were to come into contact with these Puffapods again for whatever reason.

After doing this, Kendra carefully picked up the knife, weighing it slightly in her hand to get the feel of it. She wasn't afraid of knives like some people might be. She had taken away that fear when she had known she had wanted to be a vet, way back when she was in 2nd grade. You had to have nearly no fears if you were a vet. And knives were under one of those fears.

Gently, Kendra held to the puffapod, gently cutting through the membrane of the plant, making sure not to cut to far as to damage the pods inside, which she was aiming to collect in one piece.

She ticked off stage 2 on her list of things to do, and began reading the next.

Her seeds were collected, so all Stella had left to do was to get them inside her calico bag and clean up. That seemed easy enough, now that she figured she was mostly done with the slime. There was a bit more cleaning of the seeds necessary, but she did that as she picked them all up from on top of the bag. Slipping them inside, she carefully set the bag down again next to her scalpel. Maybe they were going to be planting the seeds next, considering the last lesson had involved planting more than harvesting. It was a complete guess, but Professor Bentley had said that the lesson was continuing once they'd all finished harvesting.

She had a couple more steps to go before she needed to worry about that, though. Even as she was reminded that she wanted to check and make sure her fire seed busling was doing okay after the lesson, she eyed the remaining pod membrane attached to the puffapod. Now that it was empty, it looked a little forlorn. Reaching out, she grasped it firmly and pulled it off the stem, before placing it onto the compost heap. Hopefully it wouldn't matter if there was still a little bit of slime inside, since she'd rather not deal with that any longer.

With his gloves and apron on, Eino held the pod securely in his left hand and picked up the scalpel with his right. He gently placed the tip of the instrument on the most high point of the pod and slowly added pressure to it. When the scalpel dug into the pod, Eino pushed the scalpel further in and began to make the incision. Maybe they could have cast the Gripping Charm on the gloves first because it was a little difficult to hold the pod, while trying not to stab it. He cautiously cut a straight line from the top of the pod to its bottom, without harming the contents inside it.

Turning at the sound of Harvey's voice, Seren stared at him blankly. Wasn't it obvious?

"So long as you've cleaned them, just return them to where you got them from.... under the work space."

Simple.. right?




After glancing around the classroom, Seren checked the time on her pendant watch. It was about time to move on.

"Finishing up now thanks!" she called out.

OOC: The lesson will be moving on in 1 and a half hours. Just do as much as you can if you haven't yet finished. There are still more activities to come!

Now that she had all of the seeds, Kacie carefully slipped them into the calico bad as instructed. She then turned to the rest of the puffapod and started to remove the rest of the membrane, by pulling it off the stem. Once that was done she placed it into the compost heap. Now all that was left was for her to clean up.

When Eino had created an opening on the pod that would fit his finger, he laid the scalpel down on the table and attempted to remove the seeds. He inserted his index finger through the opening, and moved it around, trying to scrape the seeds out. The first time he removed his finger two seeds came out with it, but he still could feel that there were more seeds in the pod so he went for it a second time. He didn't want to insert his own hand because he was afraid it would get stuck in the pod, so he inserted two fingers this time, which allowed him to removed all of the remaining seeds. He went in a third time to make sure he had removed all of them and then counted the ones on the table. There were four of them. He picked them up and glanced over his notebook for the next step.
