Another History of Magic class meant more chances for students to lose points, more chaos, and perhaps even more apples. As you make your way toward the classroom you notice a note tacked onto the door.
I shall arrive shortly. Take a seat, don't make too much noise, and killing any of your classmates is not allowed. - Profesor Scabior
Inside the class the desks have been rearranged for the new year. Instead of the standard placement the desks have all be moved so that they formed a connecting semi-circle facing the board and Professor Scabior's desk.
OCC: Class will not start until 6pm EST tomorrow (Thursday) so feel free to post your character arriving. Just please keep chatting to a minimum. CLASS HAS STARTED! Do not post your character late (if you want to join just act as if your character was there the whole time!). And do NOT edit your posts with answers. Doing both will result in loss of points.

Nora couldn't help but blink for a few times.
Blink, blink.
Everything moved on sooo fast, that she barely had the time to take notes, but surely not enough time to think of an answer before someone else did. Anyway, the class was dismissed, so she packed everything she had and stood up. "Goodbye, professor," she said with a quick smile, and then left the classroom.
"The idea of a wand changing of allegiance in a wand is a really simple one. Most of you know it but for those who don't? Listen up." He pointed his wand on the board writing two words down. "A wand will leave it's owner if it's owner is disarmed, or killed. This is called change of allegiance and it is called one of the subtle laws in Wandlore. It is a fact and should work for all wands but sometimes it does not." He paused, letting them all soak in the information. Heh, he was teaching a lot today wasn't he?
"Now the reason why some wands do not leave their original owners or why some leave their owners really quickly is due to the wand flexibility." Yes. It was true. "Wand flexibility or rigidity is the willingness to change and adapt of the wand-and-wizard pair." Pause again. He liked to let things sink in. "In normal people terms, that means; your wands loyalty and how well it works, depends on how flexible it is. Usually when you get your wand the wand maker will give you a slight note of the flexibility. I'll use my wand again as an example." He picked it up again, showing it to the class. "When I got my wand, the wandmaker distinctly said that my wand was supple. Which basically means that my wand would be pretty willing to adapt and change its allegiance to its new master, If I was disarmed. If someone were to have a wand that was..let's say..unyielding that would mean it would resist going to the new owner." There were more types of flexibility but Scabior wasn't going to go over that. "Keep in mind though, that as wands and wizards grow together, it might not matter how supple or unyielding it was at first. If you treat your unyielding wand bad then it might quickly chance owners the first chance it gets." And clearly that would be bad.
"Now we have discussed wands. What they are made up of, and how they work. And there is a saying that some of you have said in this class that many wizards and witches seem to take to heart. And that saying is, wands of elder never prosper. I want you all to keep that saying in mind. Think about what it means and what it's deeper meaning is. And keep it in mind for our next class." He looked down at his watch on his hand. Yeah. That was enough.
"You lot are dismissed. No homework for this class but your final will be up on the noticeboard soon. Keep a look out." Nudge, nudge. By soon, he meant SOON. He wanted to give them time to work on it.
Cass looked down on her notes in messy, cursive, barely readable handwriting. This was was going way too fast for her own good. She had barely thought of an answer for one question before the professor asked another one. And so, she simply gave up trying to answer, and simply took down notes.
And the next thing she knew, the class was over and they were being dismissed...with no homework.
....
....
Seriously? O__O
Still trying to process the fact that not only did she contribute so little to the lesson, she also didn't notice it pass by, Cass packed her things in a daze and stood up from her seat, then she waved and said "Good bye Professor." Then she turned in left for her next class.
Over? the lesson was over so fast?! Ira was really surprised.. She had half slept through most of the lecture part and was now feeling wide awake at the mention of 'No Homework'! Wow! that was great! At least Professor Scabior cared for his students! Oh well...
She barely had taken any notes and the lesson was going on so fast that she had not been able to think to answer anything at all!
"Good bye Professor and thank you for the lesson..." Of course thank you for finishing up the class quickly and giving no homework!
Wow, that was a lot of note taking Jesifur thought. Class is over already. Short class packed with information. No homework! Awesome. Jesifur packed up her things and made her way to the door. "Thank you professor" She called back as she left.
Selina was vigorously writing down the homework for the lesson when suddenly everything stopped. Her head snapped up along with her quill and she saw that her Professor was dismissing her and the lot. Why was the lesson over? That was quick.
She slowly collected her things and walked out the door, "Right, well, erm goodbye Professor."

Minerva finished writing her notes and got up to leave. She was mad at herself for not answering more questions, but she didn't really know the answers and she didn't want to miss anything in her notes. Then she thought of something, "Umm professor in my muggle classes I use to have a tape record to record my lessons so I could go back and listen to them later. Would that be allowed here>" There was just so many things covered today she was afraid she missed something important. "It was a good lesson today professor thank you." As Minerva started to walk away she remember something. She pulled a small package out of her bag. "Professor do you remember when I was in your office after the last lesson? Well I found this with my things and thought maybe I would pass it along. If you don't want it that fine, but it just made me think of our first lesson."
Before she knew it, the prof. dismissed the class. It had been short but then they had learnt a lot about wandlore which was very interesting. Orr packed up her things and said goodbye to the professor before she left the classroom.

All the talk of wandlore indeed got her interested in the subject again, but before she knew it, class was dismissed and apparently, they weren't having homework. That was a relief. She was too caught up in studying for NEWTs anyhow and if that Minister was going to cancel them again this year, well...She'd like to know!
Packing up her things, the Slytherin stood up, only to look over to Marie. Raising a brow, not really knowing what that was all about, Evelyn chuckled quietly before heading towards the door. "Goodbye Professor Scabior. Have a nice day."

"Who knows anything about the wand woods?" He looked around. Really, the core was the easiest thing to explain and the woods sat somewhere in the middle.
Woods? The woods are quite tricky to explain. "It's what the wand is mostly made of, wood." Duh. But does Victoria know anything else about the wand woods? Errr....
"Well...just like the core of the wand, the type of wood also depends on you and your personality and traits." added Victoria.

Mm kay...That doesn't sound to difficult to answer does it? She has heard of how the wands change allegiance, but it's really complicated that Victoria has trouble remembering it all. "I believe that to achieve true allegiance of another's wand, you have to kill the wand owner or take it out of force, like disarming."

This class is over already? So soon? Victoria have having fun learning so much about wands she had never known before and naming the most half giant ever in her whole life. "Good bye professor." said Victoria as she gathered up all her belongings. Before walking out the door, Victoria turned back to the professor and said, "I will let you know if I can find anymore half giant for your pleasure." Then walking out the door quickly. Researching half giants will increase knowledge, so the professor better be happy about that.
Over already? Without her realising it, Aiden has just writteb the longest notes she has ever written. There are parchments scattered everywhere on her desk. Quickly she gathers them all and shoves it into her bag. She could arrange them later.
Getting off the chair, she pushes her hair backwards before Moving towards the door. "Thank you for the great lesson, professor. Have a nice day," she greets him before leaving the classroom.

Class was...dismissed? It seemed so abrupt, but who was Sierra to complain? Who in their right mind would care that a history class was being dismissed?! Nope. Not her. She quickly gathered her materials, trying hard to ignore, for the time being, that the professor was already talking about final exams. She didn't even want to think about finals right now!
Once all her things were gathered, Sierra slung her bag over her shoulder and headed for the door. "Bye, Professor!" she called, waving over her shoulder. Stepping out into the corridor, she adjusted her bag before leaving for the common room.

Harvey was shocked, the lesson was over ALREADY. It seemed this lesson had only just started and it was over just like that. Harvey could not believe that the professor was talking about finals already! It was nice of him to want to give the some time to work on it. Harvey gathered everything together "Bye Professor thank you for this nice informative and good lesson." he said before leaving the class.

What?! The lesson is finished? No homework? It was not strange... It was awful! Anna was surprised and all her resentment was reflected on her face. She started to rise slowly and picked up her bag. "Good-bye, professor. Have a nice day."

Tiffany nodded as the professor said that they were dismissed. She was amazed by the professor since he knew a lot about wands. She jointed down the notes and packed her belongings. "Thanks for this great lesson, professor!"And she headed to the door.

Violet hastily scribbled in her H.O.M. notebook; she had taken pages of notes in this class, but she was interested in wands and how they worked. She looked over at her own wand sitting on the edge of her desk--10.9" Mahogany, solid, with a Chinese Fireball dragon heartsting core. So--10.9"...that was pretty long for a small, skinny girl with fairly short arms; so that should mean she had a large personality. She grinned to herself--yes, she supposed that was right. And solid--well, she was kind of stubborn, though not completely inflexible, so her wand must be, too. Good! She had grown veryy fond of her wand in the short time she'd had it and hated the thought of someone else gaining its allegiance. And a dragon heartstring....she realized class was over and she had better quit sitting there daydreaming about her wand, but she was pretty sure why she had a dragon heartstring; she knew she had a temper.
Hastily gathering her things and stuffing them into her bag (except her wand, which she carefully tucked away in her robe's inner pocket, giving it a loving pat) and hurried out the door, giving a hasty, "Goodbye, Professor Scabior!" as she departed.
