''Thanks all of you for coming'' said Luna trying to end the party now ''Thanks for all your brilliant gifts'' said Luna ''So that's it'' said Luna handing everybody a goody bag full of honeydulks sweets and butterbeer and sheilding hats that she bought at the start of term ''Bye and thank you''

Damien didn't mean to scrunch up his face, but it was silly of Ness to think that he'd think of her as a freak. But then she spoke of her friend. Her best friend. And it must have been incredibly hard to talk to a near perfect stranger about something so personal. He half envied her ... that she could feel such emotion about a tragic event in her life. Of course he felt for the poor girl; it's hard to lose anyone.

But Damien.

He couldn't recall anything about his parents, let alone feel so much emotion about their passing.

This conversation wasn't about him, though. Ness needed real comfort right now, and the best thing Damien could do was exactly that. Comfort her in the best way possible.

"It must have been an awful fight for you to feel as bad as to blame yourself for your friend's car accident. But, Ness ... you said yourself, it was an accident, right? Do you feel bad because the last conversation you had was a fight?"

Ness listened to what Damien had to say, in some ways he was right, but she still felt as though it was her fault, and she couldn't change the way she felt."Yeah.. I.. do..,.. because... I.. was... the... one.. which... start..ed the whole.. dum... fight!" said Ness still crying.Why did she have to start the fight about something so stupid thought Ness, she absoloutley hated herself right now, and she felt as though everyone would hate her.

Ness wasn't too sure if she should carry on to the next reason but she decided she would in anycase, hoping Damien wouldn't mind. "I...just..feel...that..everyone...now...hates ... me...and... I... don't... even know.... why.... I'm..... a.... hufflepuff,... Hufflepuffs.... are .....suppossed... to... be.... friend..ly..... and... Im... not!"she said hoping Damien didn't think she was mental "I...just...don't....understand....why...
..he... got....so..irritated?" said Ness speaking with out even realising it. She just sobbed on and on, untill waiting for Damien to say something, so she knew he was listening.

Damien listened, concerned for Ness as she spoke about the fight which apparently was a rather insigificant one which she, Ness felt like she started. He was about to ask if she wanted to talk about the fight she had with her friend, but Ness' tears seemed to get worse as she seemed to think that everyone ... hated her? Because she wasn't friendly? But ... she seemd so friendly to him. Who would think Ness wasn't friendly? That couldn't be. This was her first year at Hogwarts, how could everyone hate her?

"Ness, I'm not sure I understand ... You need to slow down and take it one bit at a time ..."

He? And who is this mysterious ... 'He'? Apparently whoever this person was got irritated by something she'd said or done ...

He tried again.

"Take a deep breath, Ness," he began as he conjured up a cup of warm tea for her. Whether she chose to drink it or not was up to her; his feelings wouldn't be hurt if she didn't touch it. Not everyone likes tea.

"I'm not sure I'm following what's going through your mind. Could you erm ... go over that last part again? Who thinks your not friendly? Why would people think that and ... why did some guy get irritate with you?"

Ness listened what Damien said She took a deep breath, even though she was still crying. wiped her face with a tissue, then saw a tea cup right infront of her. Ness took the cup and started to sip the warm tea, though she was starting to make a mass, because her hands we're a bit shacky so, she put the tea down, then took another tissue to clean the spill she had put on her robes.Then she tried to explain it in more detail.

"Everybody... hates... me, well...thats..what..it feels..like..because.....my... .new....best...friend.....Zara......has....left... the..school....and...she.....didnt...even....say.. ..good... bye." Ness was crying really hard now, she wasn't even sure Zara had really left, but anybody, she asked hadn't seen her, which obviously only meant one thing, she wasn't at school. The last time Ness saw Zara was at Ness's party, but Zara ran out the room upset for some reason and when Ness went ran after her, there was somone else there which was comforting Zara so Ness thought it was okay to go back to the party. Ness really wondered where Zara could be right now.


"and....Matt....he..just....thinks...im...a....stu pid ....irritating......girl....alll....my....real.... friends....hate...me" said Ness sobbing harder, then taking another tissue to wipe her face."im...sorry.
..im...doing...this...to..you..im..being..so..self ish!"

Damien shook his head. "Of course you're not being selfish. You feel like you have no one to talk to ... I'd be pretty upset too." -- Granted no one has ever seen Damien shed a single tear; he wouldn't ever cry propperly like Ness. To him, there wasjust no reason for him to do so

Ness, was obviously very different from him.

"One of the great things about this school ... there are hundreds of students around, and always new people to meet. Chances to make new friends. It must be hard that your best friend left, especially that she hadn't said goodybe," Which Damien thought was highly rude. If this girl was Ness' friend, she should have talked with her and said a propper goodbye. But he wasn't going to say something like that about a person he hardly knew. "Not to mention being around a bunch of people you feel aren't being true friends to you. If they don't want to take the time to listen and get to know you, then that's their problem."

He paused to check on her before adding, "And this kid who think's you're 'irritating and stupid' obviously doesn't know you very well and hasn't taken the time to get to know you."

Wow, that was quite a rant he went on there, wasn't it? But something about why she was feeling so upset struck a nerve with him.

He cocked his head to one side, smiling at Ness. "Want me to hex this boy who's saying mean things to you?" he said jokingly. 'Course he would never intentionally hurt another student with magic. That was against the rules ...

Goody-Goody.

Presley waited for the others to file out of the room, and she spun to Luna. "What's wrong?" she asked urgently. She'd never seen Luna so much as frown, and now she was on the verge of tears. This was definitely bad. "Let's go to the three broomsticks. I know a great passageway out of here."

Ness listened to Damien once again, he was really good with advice and Ness thought he could be a therapist. Nessies crying starting to calm a little as he talked. she felt as though she had shed almost every tear in her eyes. Ness didn't want to mention that she had her parents, but she didn't really want to write to them much because, she didn't want to worry them.

Ness giggled a small giggle when Damien said he would hex this kid."No... its... fine I don't want you to get into trouble!" said Ness her tears finally ending. Damien was really special for listening to her, and Ness deffinatley owed him big, she thought of maybe buying him something, but she wasn't too sure what."Thanks Damien!" said Ness giving him a small hug of thanks. "You really have good advice!" said Ness smiling a small grin.

''I I.... ca can can't say here'' began Luna ''Right the t-three bbbroomsticks sssounds great... Just let me get somthing first'' said Luna running over to the table and geting a piece of parchement that arrived earlier she clutched it in her hand as tight as she could her grip was very tight but now her nails were diging in her skin it started to bleed Luna tryed to hide the fact that she was starting to cry she got out a tissuse and wiped her eyes she didn't cry often ''Sssorry you have to see me like this'' then a tear rolled down her cheek as she followed Presley

Damien smiled as Ness appeared to have calmed down a little from her hysterics. He was glad to have been able to help her, even if he didn't actually solve anything. At least she was able to talk to someone. Sometimes that's all a person need. Someone to talk to.

Huh ... maybe he should learn and take his own advice too.

His arms raised up as Ness' small arms attempted to wrap around his sixth-year torso. Smiling wider, he fit one arm around her and gave a reassuring squeeze.

"You say I'm good at advice, huh?" he asked. "Perhaps it's a skill I could market ... but then again what wizard in the world in a licensed therapist."

"I'm glad I could help," he added.

"You are!" said Ness giving him a thumbs up. "Perhaps, even wizards and witches might need therapists sometimes!" Nessie giggled then picked up another chocolate frog "Want one?" she asked. "I deffinatley owe you! Big time!' said Ness still trying to think of what she could get him. Shhe then started nibbling one her own chocolate.

She smiled at him again happy to have him as a friend.He was a very special friend. She bearly even knew him, that well, but she already felt as though he was like a bigger brother to her."You know, you like the brother I never had!" said Ness hoping he wouldn't think she was wierd, but she was just being her own self.

Rache! You coming?" Presley asked Rachel, supporting Luna as they left for the Three Broomsticks.

Carter chuckled. "I prefer to think about it as I'm easy to please." he said with a smirk. He was sure someday someone would be extremely happy that he ate pretty much anything.

He chuckled. "Same age as Anya." he said. He knew exactly what it was like to have a younger sibling that age.

He rubbed her back. "I'm sorry..." is all he managed to say. He had no idea how she must be feeling. He gathered that her mom and dad didn't split under the best of circumstances.

Holding him close to her Marie felt like she was floating on air as they danced around the balcony. She really wasn't one that was big on dancing because she really wasn't that good at it but if it meant she got to hold Matty close to her then she would do it. "Oh don't worry, I'll always be me. I won't disappoint you." Just because she had told him she loves him now didn't mean she was going to change her ways or anything. She was still going to be the same Marie that he fell in love with.

Letting him spin her around she managed not to step on his feet. Resting her head on his shoulder as they continued to dance she had a million things running through her mind.... and apparently Matty wanted to know what she was thinking.

Looking up at him she grinned. "Well, praying I don't step on your feet." And so far she hadn't. Giving him a little kiss she smiled at him a little more serious now. "I was actually thinking how incredibly lucky I am to have someone as wonderful as you in love with me." She was also wondering what would have happened if she would have kissed him that day Finn walked in on them. Most likely she would have never dated Finlay.

Caroline smiled and laughed. She loved that no matter what kind of mood she was in he could always make her laugh. "You are easy to please." It was trueReally he was quite easy to get along with and all you had to do is give the boy food and he was happy. If he was happy then she was happy. Well it made her feel a bit better. It was just nice to be with him again.

"He turned 10 in December. He'll be at Hogwarts the year after we leave." Which was sad. It would have been fun to have him there. Even if he would be a first year. That way they could have gotten to know each other better.

She closed her eyes, and tried to relax as he rubbed her back."It's ..... " She really didn;t know what to say. He had only say that he was sorry, it meant alot. She squeezed his hand, as tear rolled down her cheeks. Maybe it was because she was so emotional at the time, or something else. She slid over closer closer to him and put her arms around him and her head on his shoulder. Gah she hating crying in front of people, in made her feel so babyish.

"Sorry." She said as she wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. She knew that she would or should have apoloized for crying. But she did and it made her feel even worst. Maybe she shouldn't have came back to school so soon.

"You are very lucky I hope you know that." *Matty said with a wicked grin. Leaning down he left light kisses on her cheeks and lips from time to time while he spoke.*
"Actually... I am the lucky one... and you can step on my feet anytime..."
*He was pretty sure she had no idea how many guys wanted her. Matty knew that most of the guys, including all of Marie's Ex-boyfriends, would go after her at the drop of a hat. All she had to do was smile and boys turned into mush around her.*

"Oh I know that." She said kissing him back. She knew she was very lucky. Lucky to finally find a guy who really loves her and isn't afraid to show it. At least she hoped he wouldn't be afraid to show it and let his friends know he was in love with her. It was one thing to show your feelings when no one was around. It was another thing to show them around your friends or other people. She had already been through that. Someone telling her they loved her when they were alone, only to treat her like she was no more than a fling when around his friends. She really hoped Matty didn't turn out to be like that. She knew that once she got back to her dorm room Evelyn and Destiny were going to be the first to hear about her great night and that she was in love... right after she told Mia, if she could find her before heading back to her common room.

Aww, he thought he was lucky too? "Yes, you are lucky. Lucky I haven't stepped on you yet." He may say now that she could step on his feet anytime but would he still be saying that if she was to step on him with one of her heels. She didn't think so. Putting her arms back around his neck she pulled him down to her and whispered in his ear. "I love you, I love you, I love you." Just in case he didn't understand all those other times she told him that she loved him.

Carter smiled. "What can I say?" he said with a light shrug. Maybe it was part of his charm?

"Same age as Anya." he said with a smile. That was a fun age for a younger sibling. It was right about the time when they figure out their personalities. "Too bad he isn't a year older..." he said. He knew that Caroline would love to get to know the boy.

Carter continued to rub her back. He really couldn't imagine how hard it would be to find out that you've been lied to, then find someone just to have them slam the door in your face.

When she scooted closer he just held her as she cried. He wasn't sure what to say... or if he could say anything to cheer her up. He hoped that just being there was enough.

*Matty closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feel of Marie next to him. He loved everything about her, her smell, smile, the way she laughed at his stupid thoughts, even that she was a bully at times. His smile grew when she whispered she loved him. For years he had been wishing to hear that from someone not because they were family or something. But that they chose to love him. Leaning down he kissed the top of her head, all dancing long gone from his mind.*

The music had stopped playing but Marie didn't even norice it. She still had music playing in her head. She did however notice when Matty kissed the top of her head. Resting her head on his shoulder she felt like they were one. Like she was complete now.

Yes, she was that much in love with him.

Caroline shook her head and laughed a bit, when he said what could he say. He was so cute. She really couldn't help but smile, but smiling was a good thing right? It did helpe her to try to smile some.

She nodded. "That would be amazing if he was at least a year older." She was already planning away to see him some time, somewhere this summer. She wiped her eyes, again. Blah. She hated feeling like this and all wininy and stuff, it just wasn't her. She really hadn't cried this much, since her other father had died six years ago.

Her face was quiet litterary buried in his side. As she continued to cry, she debated with herself if she was just mad at herself for crying uncontrollably or if she was just angry at her real dad and/or her mum."She never told him about me." Clearing her throat in an effort to stop the crying. "He's probably just processing it all. You know? He was probably still in shock." She reasoned out loud and tore her face away from his side. "Hi I'm Caroline. I'm your daughter. That's enough to put any one in shock." Especially if you didn't know that you had one for seventeen years. "You know we were getting along great. I had been staying there for about a week getting to know him and Asher. What happened between him and mum must've been bad. " Seeing as either one wanted to tell her about it.

Once she had calmed down a bit. She had so much catching up to do with homework and Carter and what went on at school while she was gone. "So anything interesting happen while I was gone?" She asked, very curiously. It would be her luck that something good would happen while she was gone.

She jumped up off the couch. She had totally forgotten, "I got you something there." She ran over to where she sat her bags down the night before, and started dugging threw her bag for what she had gotten him. It was somewhere in here.

Luna walked into the room of requirement she liked it they're peacefull and there wasn't too many people to bother her not that she didn't want to talk to anybody but because she would like to think things out then she saw a piece of parchment with her name on it Funny I wouldn't have a thought of getting a letter in here or...PACKAGE? Luna thought to her self she picked up the letter read threw it and picked up the package birthday present no doubt she opened it up to find a lovely charm bracelet with all her family's name's on it and where they were she looked at her sister's and mother's she realy wanted to take their's of but she was happy they were safe she noticed that it said everybody she was close to it even had her best friends Rachel and Presley it had her brother and her father of course and Rebecca and her grandmother and grandfather it couldn't fit everyone's name but she could still add people on. She also got some books from diagon alley she smiled she was very happy with her present Luna was happy her father was writing to her more she couldn't wait to see him and she missed him more she also missed Danny but she didn't see him so often so she was used to not seeing him around but she still missed him

Dear Luna here's a little present I ment to send it sooner but ive got so held up with everything I hope you understand it's a magical charm bracelet it tells you where everybody is that you care about and closest to if you check out your mother's and Lilly's you see where they are and they're mood they're happy so I hope you are too Love and miss you soo much Dad

Carter smiled. "You'll at least get to help him shop for things when he gets out here." he said with a smile. "And you can tell him all about fun spots around the castle." He thought that would be fun anyway.

He continued to rub her back. "True." he said agreeing with her. "Maybe in a few months he'll write to you or something... after he's had time to sort out his stuff." He nodded again when she said that whatever happened must have been bad. He'd reached the same conclusion.

Anything interesting...? he thought to himself. Well, he'd gotten in a fight with Evan while she was gone. Made summer plans to check out a pitch with Marie. Gotten a few more invitations to visit pitches. Purposefully faked sick to get out of a quidditch match to make said plans with Marie.

So was there anything new? Nothing he really wanted to talk about yet...

"Ehh... nothing too terribly exciting."

He watched as she jumped off the couch. "Oh, you didn't need to do that." he said.

"That's what I plan on doing." In fact if she had it her way she would get to see him at some point over the summer. He was definitely going to love it here as much as she does. It still was ashame that they wouldn't be here together.

Caroline smiled and nodded. "Yeah, That's what I'm hoping for." She really did hope that was all in was.Maybe he needed some time to adjust.

She raised her eyebrow, she was gone nearly a month and nothing happened while she was gone. Okay was that possible? At Hogwarts? It was like Hogwarts had stopped for her to get back. Except the fact that while she was gone, a certain cousin hers loved rubbing the in fact that she was there keeping him company, while she was gone. She didn't say anything. but "Oh"


She finally found it."We'll I couldn't find many quidditch thing there, I guess they dont have a team." She walked back over and flopped down on the couch again. "I seen this, and I loved what you send me so much. I wanted to get you something." She put her hand out, and handed him a small box inside the box was this.

Carter smiled. "And if he is still like that, it's his loss." he said. "You're an amazing person and I really hopes he comes to his senses and realizes it too."

"Well, I mean. I had quidditch. You know I barely notice anything around me with quaffles on my mind." The same happened when waffles were on his mind.

He opened the box. He smiled. "Thanks." he said putting it on. "I've heard their national team is good." Of course... that was a few years ago when he was training to compete against said National Team. He put an arm around her. "I love it. And I love that you thought of me while you were gone."

Because he knew that he thought about her. And quaffles and waffles.
