Serena nodded "Torch brackets and magical fires mostly."

"Weeeeeeeeell" Serena said thoughtfully "I think your camera would work, but not those new didatal cameras. If you develop the film in a certain potion the people move."

"My sister Jamie is Slytherin. We are so much alike that I wonder why we are not in the same house. You draw? That's great! Me too." She couldn't help the huge grin that spread across her face. "Of course I love to read but I'm afraid I'm not much of a writer. I love to but I can never seem to come up with good ideas. So what sort of things do you write about?" Rowan hoped she wasn't being too nosy but it was nice to find someone with similar interests.

"Woah..." This school was getting freakier by the moment, and to Emmy's surprise, she really didn't mind. Em looked down at the watch on her wrist. We're getting closer!!
"Do we have to wear school robes today?" Emmy wondered, looking down at the dark green dress she was wearing. She absent-mindedly retied the gold sash that forced the loose-fitting dress to gather around her too skinny waist.

"I've seen them move before in the newspaper." Emmy said, feeling knowledgable. "Wait til Mum sees that!!"

Kyle smiled softly as Simon said he liked the idea of the compartment - that was good because she highly doubted they'd find another empty one for a while. She laughed slightly as she thought of what he said seeing a kitten attack a full grown person wasn't always the first thought that had come to her mind. "I have to say, I'm glad that you two get along - then again, I think I got the docile one - nothing like the Kneazel I saw earlier...or more heard hissing" she admitted with a chuckle as she stepped into the compartment rolling her trunk in behind her.

As the trunk stopped Ginger hopped off easily landing on all fours, she quickly leaped to one of the seats and stretching out and quickly curling back into a ball she fell as sleep.

Kyle had been about to move Ginger when she seemed to move herself. Smart girl. She thought as she picked up her trunk to put it above in the storage area. Don't be clumsy now. She thought - well hoped, luckily she managed to get the trunk up there safely.

She smiled happily quite proud of herself. She then took the time to turn around and actually respond to what Simon had said. "I do have to say, its nice having family at the school once again - even if it is for our final term" as she said the words final term she felt herself frown slightly. She didn't want it to end almost - but a part of her did. Still, the adventure had been grand. Resolving not to frown she took a seat by the window, tucking her legs under her. Yay for leggings and all.

"So you do anything interesting over summer since I saw you last?" She asked happily, slowly raising an eyebrow as she spoke.

"Oh, really? I've been told I should be in Slytherin, and the Hat couldn't decide at first." Yeah, sneakiness! Aaand then Ariana blushed. Oh, no she'd brought up a conversation about her art. Wonderful. Time for embarrassment.
"Yeah, I draw. Always have. I keep all my pictures in my sketchbook." And that particular sketchbook was "Right here." WAIT!!! Hold it! Did she just say that? Did she really just say that aloud?? Nooooooo.......... And now she was holding up her sketchbook. Wow. Great time to not listen to what I tell you, body! At least one part of her reflected her true feelings, she was blushing rose red. Ughh.
"I write Muggle fantasy, I have since I was eight. I'm working on a couple books right now, with my friend, and I also competed in a short story competition once." 'Shut. Up.' Ariana told herself. Rowan was obviously just inquiring of politeness, there was no reason she would acutally care about all this! Ariana closed her mouth and blushed. Again. Ugh.

"Nice to meet you Ariana," Jaymie said cheerfully. She giggled. "I ate the rest of the frosting; and the cupcake." She grinned and rubbed her stomach. "It was chocolate." She produced a tin out of her bag. "Want a candy?" She asked, offering it to Ariana.

"Must've tasted good! Now I want a cupcake! I can't wait for the feast, I bet there'll be lots of dessert there!" Yes... yummy stuff... can't wait.... Ariana realized that her money was in the very very bottom of her trunk, so there was no way she'd be able to get it out to buy herself some stuff from the food trolley. Darn it!
"Oh, yes please!" Yay Ariana got yummy stuff anyway!!

At that moment Jaymie realized she was still standing up. She sat down next to Ariana and took a sugarquill out of her tin and sucked on it. "I hope there's cupcakes; I love cupcakes." They were probably her favorite food.

Hallie was slowly starting to warm up to the fact that there was absolutely nothing she could do to get out of going to Hogwarts. But still no one had told her a single thing about the place. It could be a hut in the middle of the desert for all she knew. An attempt at keeping a smile on her face she strolled through the train attempting to find someone she had met or someone who looked like she might be able to stand being around for the remainder of the trip.

"Me too! Cupcakes are awesome! Not muffins though, they're just posers without frosting." Ariana had very strong feelings about muffins. Yes indeed.
Not really, but cupcakse were indeed awesome.

Jaymie nodded with agreement. "I don't like muffins, they're boring and usually not chocolate." Chocolate was the best. "Do you have any siblings Ariana?" She asked.

As Krissa looked for an empty compartment she suddenlty felt herself collide with something. She jumped back, and realized that it was in fact another person. "Oh I'm sorry." She said, biting her lip. "I'm such a klutz, you don't even know." She shook her head, "I'm Krissa by the way. I'm really sorry if I like broke you or anything." She grimaced.

"Yes, you get it! Chocolate rules, vanilla is okay but not nearly as good!" That was what made chocolate chip ice cream so good- it was both!

"Yeah, I've got a little sister." Ariana made a face. "She's ten and the most annoying thing in the world. I think I'll die if she's a witch and comes to Hogwarts next year."

"Wonderful. May I see them?" she asked reaching into her bag to pull out her own drawings. "Here's mine if you'd like to see them. How fabulous. Maybe I can read on of your stories some day." Brushing a bit of hair behind her ear, Rowan asked "So how do you come up with ideas. For your stories I mean?"

Connor walked down the Aisle looking for the food trolley when he spotted Hallie. He walked up to her and gave her a hug. He had missed her lately and he was so glad to see her. He was making new friends and reuniting with old ones and he had met someone special but that did not replace the Hallie-shaped hole in his heart. He held her tight for just a moment.

"Well it's a long story. But hopefully my sister will forgive me." Nika sighed. She couldn't believe her sister would ask her to not go to Hogwarts. It is where Nika belongs. "So what did you do during your holiday?" Hmm? Nika is curious.

"Yeah that trip was so much fun! Haha yeah Jay here has an extreme liking to cupcakes." Nika loved them too, but not nearly as much as Jay.

Tough to survive?!?! "What school did you go to?!?!" Nika asked him with an eyebrow raised in concern. "Well Hogwarts is really awesome and it's easy to survive here! You'll love it." Perhaps this guy went to this Beaxbaton place that a few of her friends transferred from.. But it can't be. They talked so highly of it...


Nika looked over and noticed a girl sitting alone. Well unless you count her cat as a person, then she wasn't alone. "Hi there!" Nika waved her hand rapidly. She had a big smile on her face and she was as cheerful as ever. "I'm Nika!"

Nika saw a younger looking girl reading a cool looking magazine? "Hello!" She chirped as she ran to a seat next to her. "What is that?" Nika was eyeing the magazine type thing curiously. Maybe a magical book or something?

Nika was humming to herself and staring out the windows. She was a bit exhausted from moving around and switching compartments so often. She wanted to make sure she said hi to all of her friends and still make time for making new ones. Skipping along the isle looking around for another compartment to visit she bumped into an older looking girl. Great. Well this isn't a first. "Oh my goodness I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying any attention and I'm just about the clumsiest Gryffindor and oh I'm so sorry." Nika apologized frantically. "Hello! I'm Nika!" The cheerful little girl stated in a sing-songy voice she used ever-so-often.

"I know! I only learnt a year ago Muggle photos don't move at all" Serena exclaimed "Weird..." Serena trailed off

Krissa jumped back as she felt herself collide with yet another person. She seriously had to stop doing that. But for once the other person was apologizing. Huh, that was different. Krissa laughed, "Oh don't worry, I'm a total klutz I'm always running into someone or something." She grinned a little, "I'm Krissa by the way."

"W-well, I, okay." Ariana said, resigned to her fate. She'd never shown anyone her drawings before. But it was her fault that she'd told Rowan!
"I've started a comic, here's the first panel." She flipped through her sketchbook, and flipped through the pages until finding this drawing. Reluctantly, she showed it to Rowan, ready to be embarrased at its horrible-ness.

She was a little less embarrassed about her writing... "I have some in my notebook, if you like you can read them now." ...but was still upset with herself for saying that. UGH. Evil self, evil self! "Well, whenever I think of something I write it down really quickly, and then refer back to it later. I don't really know how I come up with them, sometiemes they just come out of the blue."

"Aww, well I won't pry, but I hope everything turns out okay between the two of you." Ariana honestly hoped Nika's sister would agree with her, whatever happened.
"Nothing, actually. Well, that's a lie. I went to visit my Aunt Raine- turns out she's a witch! She just got a job in the Department of Mysteries. And now I understand that all of her magic tricks were actually real magic!" But that was the only thing she did. At all. Yup, borrring summer.

Hallie spotted Connor walking her way, she almost wanted to hide from him, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She gave a small smile and returned his hug. "Hey Connor." She greeted. There wasn't all that much to be said, or at least that was all she was willing to say.

Oh good, the girl was letting her stay. This would've been quite embarrassing if she actually said she couldn't sit here. Not to mention it would mean she'd have to continue walking down the long corridor trying to find another compartment, and Vashti really didn't feel like walking any farther.

"Thanks," she told the girl with a smile. She dragged her trunk in behind her and swung it onto the shelf above the seat opposite the girl. As she sat down, the girl introduced herself. "Nice to meet you," Vashti replied with another smile. "I'm Vashti."

Really!?! She's a klutz too!?! Klutzes unite! "Really? Me too. I'm just about the clumsiest Gryffindor." She's even been to the hospital wing twice (in her first year) to prove it. "Nice to meet you Krissa! So what year are you in?"

"Yeah I hope so too." She replied cheerfully. Nika was trying her best to stay optimistic about the whole situation. "Who knows maybe she and I can become best friends again." She would have to come around eventually right? "Wow! That's so cool! I don't think I have any magical relatives." At least non that she knows of. "But maybe I do... and I just don't know it? But probably not. I mean I probably could tell by now if I did." She said smiling. "So do you get to talk to her and ask her all about magic? and get advice? and ask her lots of questions about all sorts of stuff? Did she go to Hogwarts? Are you excited to know someone in your family who is magical!?!" Nika was getting a bit too excited about this. Hehe.

Arabella-Marie wandered through the train looking in each of the compartments looking for some of her friends or at least somebody to chat to as she was pretty bored

"I never guessed she was magical, I just assumed my whole family was muggles. She said she was super excited when she found out I got my letter!" Ariana was suddenly drowning in a sea of questions.
"Whoa, one at a time Nika! Yes, I got to talk to her about magic, she said it was mostly just focusing your mind on things, and yes she went to Hogwarts, she was a Ravvie like me, and yes I'm really excited, my parents are awesome but they just don't get magic!" And now for the best part...
"And the best part is, now she's working for the Ministry so she's moving to London so I'll get to see her over breaks, since she's not in America anymore!"

"Fourth year." Krissa replied, "But I'm a transfer student so I don't know anyone." She laughed, "I think I might give you a run for your money for klutziest Gryffindor. I'm like a walking disaster. What year are you in?"
