Isobel smiled shyly at him as he introduced himself. Star, who had been curled up next to her, now got up. She jumped across to the seat Luke was sitting on. Star regarded Luke suspiciously and hissed at him. Isobel reached over and picked Star up, she set her cat down in her lap and held her there firmly so she didn't attack Luke or something. "Hey," she scolded the kitten. "Be nice. Luke is nice."

Isobel looked up, into Luke's eyes and listened as he talked. "That sounds fun," she said. "Last year was my first year at Hogwarts. I went to Beaubaxtons for my first two years." She just looked at him and petted Star. "Sorry," she said suddenly. "My cat doesn't seem to like you."

Having been looking in the opposite direction, the seventh year about to walk off that way, Simon hadn't noticed Kyle until they nearly collided with each other. "Hey," he greeted back in response, a smile on his face before he even knew of it. "Ready for the start of our seventh year," he mused as he settled his belongings beside him for a moment and looked over to make sure his companion was settled as well. It wouldn't help for either of them to start the year off injured.

Rebecca walked down the middle cars. As she was walking to a compartment, she saw a girl sitting all by herself. She knocked on the glass and stood in the doorway. "Hello?" she asked. "Would it be alright if I sat with you? Since, ya know, you're all by yourself." She really didn't want to sit by herself, since she was new and knew no one.

Theodore smiled and laughed nervously at the tall blonde who spoke to him, not sure of what to say. Bree simply waved her tail haughtily in the air, like she was accustomed to doing, and walked off toward the food trolley. Maybe she was looking for sympathy scraps, like a dog?

He had been peering out of the window once more and had to stop from jumping, for the millionth time this week, at the sound of a voice. A much younger girl had approached and he relaxed immediately. So, was she foreign too? She had a French lilt to her accent. "Oh yeah, sure," He smiled, scooting closer to the window to let her situate her things in the compartment. And... what was wrong with her leg? He thought it better not to ask.

"Pleasure, Adrianna... I mean, Ad," He nodded, scratching his forearm. "I'm... Theodore."

Melina kissed her father good-bye with a few small tears thrown in the mix. Too bad Mummy was busy with important work to see her off. She was going to miss her dad like crazy, and she suddenly felt like a very little girl.

But, once she unloaded her trunk and grabbed a seat in one of the empty compartments, the excitement of the trip was overpowering any fear she was feeling. She bounced up and down in her seat, just slightly, and looked out the train's window.

On the seat beside her were two tiny cages, each with a playful little pygmy puff inside. She stuck her finger in the cages, one at a time, and tickled their soft fur. They responded by rolling around happily in their cages. She pulled out her bag from Sugerplum's Sweet Shop and waited to share these celebratory sweets with her new, wonderful friends. And maybe she'd just help herself to a fizzing whizbee while she waited... or four.

Rowan looked up as her compartment door opened. "Hi," she said to the girl. "My name is Rowan and this is Panda." The large black and white cat looked at the two new comers, then hopped down to great the new cat. "Don't worry about her. She is very large but a huge push over. Care to join us?"

Luke watched the small ball of fur curiously as it moved. When it hissed at hime he put his hands in the air. "I can tell," he said wryly to her statement. He reached out to pet the cat, but when it hissed at him he quickly withdrew his hand.

"Awesome," Luke said. "So you lived in France then?" He loved to travel; it was be awesome for him to just visit France. "What was it like?"

Adrianna smiled and sat down, propping both feet onto her trunk. "Thanks" she said, brushing her dark red har away from deep blue eyes.

"Hi, Theodore. What year are you in? Or, going into, I shoud ask" she said. If he said second, she would be glad she wasn't the only unnaturally tall one.

Theodore folded his hands on his lap, leaning back into the rather comfy leather seat. So, it seemed people around here liked to ask questions first. It was a little foreign to the New Yorker, but he went with it anyways. "Oh, well, I'm a transfer. I'm going into the sixth year, though. And into some house called Ravenclaw, although I haven't read up on much about the school. What about you?" She looked as though she could be a third year, but he wasn't sure.

Nika skipped down the aisles looking for a compartment to sit in. Why hadn't she thought of getting a seat earlier? Because she was too busy chasing down the candy trolly. Stupid, stupid Nika. She hummed a cheery tune as she looked for someone she knew or maybe someone who she could because friends with.

Isobel grinned at him. Then her smile faded into a half-smile and she struggled not to blush. "It's weird; Star is usually so nice. She likes everyone." Maybe the kitten had some sixth sense, and she was trying to tell her that Luke was a bad person. But that couldn't be.

"Yes I did," Isobel said wistfully. "I lived with my aunt and my older sister." She smiled to herself and became lost in thought for a minute. Then he asked another question. "You mean France? Yes, I love it. It's where I grew up; it will always be home to me." And she missed it so much.

Adrianna looked up at him. "Ah, I see. I'm nearly six feet tall and I'm going into second year. I'm a twelve year old that looks like a...a sixten year old!" she immediately shut up when she realized she was ranting. "I'm in Slytherin" she said, smiling at him.

Maggie stared at the train, then turned to look at all the parents hugging and kissing their children good-bye. She had said good-bye to her parents on the other side of the entrance to the platform. Following some, obviously older, students she made her way onto the train, dragging her trunk with one hand and holding her owl's cage in the other. She shook her head as she remembered finding out that owl post was common in the wizarding world, and her father insisting she have an owl so they could write often. Maggie knew this was dad speak for every day.

Walking to the middle of the train, Maggie looked for a compartment to sit in, preferably one with another first year, someone she could befriend. She looked into a compartment and saw a girl about her age sitting with two small cages beside her and eating from a bag of sweets. Maggie thought of her bag of chocolates and sweets and wondered if this girl would mind sharing with her - both her compartment and their sweets.

"Hi, my name is Maggie."

Kyle couldn't help but smile as Simon responded back to her - the smile he gave her was genuine and was most of the reason she herself had even begun to smile in the first place. She might have looped silly but she didn't mind one bit. "Oh I don't know if I am ready - well, no I am ready but I almost don't want it to end - kind of wish I'd transfered years earlier" she admitted sheepishly. Blushing slightly as Simon made sure they both weren't injured. "Don't worry I don't injure easily" she admitted with a sheepish laugh - she was just lucky enough to not land on the big-pile of students at the Quidditch game last term she probably would have not been all that lucky.

"So you have a compartment yet?" She asked smiling over to Simon, "if you want to sit together - without awkward conversations and the like we can besides we can finish up some of those conversations from summer" she smiled.

"Oh and I know, I know I drag on this a bit sometimes but thank you for the er support? This summer I think I might actually try for the team this year. Last year and all best to make the most of it!"

Ginger began to mimic Bree the little Kitten flicking her owl tail up haughtily instead of following Bree she stood there her tail in the air and swishing from side-to-side. Ginger pranced over to Simon and pawed his leg - without claws this time.

"What about your parents?" Luke asked instinctively. then he realized what he had said and looked abashed. "Sorry, you don't have to asnwer that if it's too personal." His cheeks slightly reddened guiltily and he tried to change the subject.

"I have always wanted to see France," Luke said. "It's on my list of places I want to see; Italy is top of the list." Luke lowly reached out and patted her shoulder awkwardly. "Well, I'm sure London I great. I mean, I grew up in the United States, and I already love London."

Jai walked along the compartments looking for one to sit in. He found one a few compartments down. It wasn't empty but it wasn't full. He saw excited kids, chatting. He sat down and relaxed his head against the seat. His parents didn't even come into the train station with him. Their relationship wasn't good since they sent him off to Durmstrang. They knew he didn't want to go to that school but they sent him anyway. They never allowed him to come home during the christmas holidays. After a while he decided to enjoy himself away from them. Now a new school, maybs some new friends and definitely new experiences. He was actually happy starting at Hogwarts.

Isobel hesitated before saying slowly, "No, it's fine." She took a deep breath. "I've never known my dad. I don't know exactly what happened..." She shrugged. "My mom...my sister knew her. When I was two years old. My aunt raised me and my sister." She just cut off there and didn't go on. She couldn't believe she had just told him that; she didn't even know him that well.

"France should be top of the list," Isobel said matter-o-factly. "France is the best place in the world." Isobel laughed. "Well, I'm probably biased; considering I live...d there." That sent a sharp little pain through her heart, but she ignored it. "London is awesome," she agreed. "And Hogwarts." Her face lit up with awe. "Wait until you see it. Hogwarts is sooo awesome!" Next to France, and her house, it was her favorite place on Earth.

"Isobel?? Isobel VonHue?!" Quinn had been looking for an empty compartment when a familiar blonde head caught her attention. "Oh my god!" she cried in excitement. "I forgot you came to Hogwarts last year! It's so good to see you! How have you been?" Finally! Quinn thought. It's about time I find someone I know! This will make Hogwarts much better. "Do you mind if I join you here?" she asked, directing her question at both Isobel and the other occupants of the car.

Luke got off his seat and moved to sit next to her on the seat. He watched her face as she talked; listening intently to her story. "Well, um..." He wasn't good at consoling people. "I'm...sorry?" He said it like a question, because it wasn't his fault so technically...okay, he had no idea what he was talking about. "I can't say I know how you feel but..." he just shrugged, hoping she knew what he was talking about.

Luke grinned. "Okay, France is now at the top of my must-see list. Italy can be second." He grinned at her, his brown eyes glowing with happiness. "I can't wait to see it," he admitted. "I've heard so much about it, and now...I finally get to see it."

Simon nodded seeing at least he wasn't the only one not sure they were ready for what was to happen at the end of term. The downfall of having friends that were mostly a year younger at least was that those close to him didn't have that to worry about. "Feel the same way actually," he replied before quickly adding, " well not the transferred part of course."

He shook his head at Kyle's question. "Nope I don't. I pretty much just got on the train actually and I would be honored to share a compartment with you," he answered holding out an arm to direct her to take the lead before him in the direction he had been heading before they met up with each other.

"You are truly welcome and I'm glad I could---" he said breaking off as he felt the pawing of his leg taking him just a little by surprise until he looked down. "...help," he continued, "guessing this is the new little one," Simon said reaching down to pet her.

Theodore nodded. Quite interesting, for a second-year. "Well, erm," He didn't know how to respond. What exactly did the four houses of Hogwarts signify? He should have read up on Hogwarts before taking the train, so he was only equipped with the minimal knowledge imparted to him by his parents. "Would you mind telling me about Hogwarts, whatever you can? Since this is my first year." It was embarrassing conceding to a younger child, but what could he do?

Nika turned around and saw a kid who was t talking to anyone. He looked around her age and he seemed pretty friendly looking. Nika flashed him a very cheery smile."Hi I'm Nika Adler!"

Isobel stiffened as he moved over to sit next to her. Her insides her hyperventilating. Luke, insanely hot Luke, was sitting next to her. She barely knew him, yet it felt like they had known each other since forever. Isobel just listened as he talked; she didn't say anything. She knew what he was trying to say, and she wouldn't have done any better at consoling someone. "Can we not talk about this please?" She looked up at him through her eyelashes with eyes.

"Good," she said with a laugh. "It should be." Isobel poked him and laughed again. "That's how I felt last year," Isobel said. "But then, I didn't realize that people felt the same way about Beaubaxtons." She looked at him curiously. "I've never heard of any wizarding school in America."

Ad blushed. "Sorry about my little rant" she said. She set her face in a thoughtful look. "Well, there are four houses. Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. There are many different classes that you can take. I really don't know what else to tell you" Ad shrugged.

Turning to a young girl, he replied,"Hi Nika. I'm Jai Pierce, nice to meet you." She looked a little younger than him but she seemed so friendly and cheerful. "So, is it your first year going to Hogwarts?"he asked, curiosity getting the better of him. He wanted to know. Durmstrang was shocking to him at first but he eventually got used to it.
