Gryffindor Common Room

The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through.

"Flibbertigibbet!"

Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes!

That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left.

For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home! There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby!

Jacqueline spoke to the boy that was near Rex. ''Hey, I am Jacqueline,but you can call me Jacky! Second year.''she shook his hand slightly,and winked him.'' I see you finished all your work! Better do it now,then leave it for later,that's what I always say! Tell me something more about you. Oh yea,you asked me what are my fav classes well it has to be Arithmancy,Charms and D.A.D.A ofc!she told him,hoping she wasn't too much attacky. She was just trying to be kind,make a new friend. He seemed like a really nice guy,they can be great friends.

"Hello Jacky, I'm Cass, Cass Sato-Rhodes." He shakes her hand carefully and blushes slightly at the wink she gives him, "Well not all of it, just what is due or has to be done now, I have some more that I will get done later. Just taking a bit of a break from work right now is all." He is not sure what to tell her about himself... "Well I am a half-blood both as a wizard and due to my parents. My mom is Japanese, and a witch, and my dad is a British Muggle. I lived for 6 or 7 years in Japan as my dad met mom there when his company transferred him there for about 10 years. Now we live in England. Not sure what else there is to say..."

Cass is a little embarrassed to be asked to talk about himself so soon after meeting some new, well, friends.

"Well I personally don't know much about that second thing you mentioned, but living most of my life believing I was a muggle and being around them as much as I was, I am here if you have any questions." Alice didn't know really all the things they taught in Muggle Studies since she'd only taken a couple of classes last year, but she still had a pretty solid amount of information on the issue.

Wow... perhaps Lexi had minded her manners at all of the feasts and whatnot. Heh. "I tend to eat like a Lioness I suppose you could say. Food flying everywhere, food on my face and in my lap by the time I am done," she said with a giggle. "It can be quite disturbing to some, I suppose," she said with another giggle. She thought it was hilarious.

Lexi gave Alice a firm nod and a bright smile. "Yes, let it go before it breaks you down, kiddo. Best advice I could give... this coming from the one that let it all break her down," she said with a rather humorless laugh.

"The Statute is an antiquated piece of grabage if you ask me... and I have heard enough about Muggles lately... When my favorite class gets taken over by MUGGLE talk I get kind of upset. Defence Against the Dark Arts... talking about Muggles? Seriously," she said in a bit of a huff.

"Well now you've got me intrigued," Alice said with a little chuckle. "Perhaps I'll pay closer attention next time we're both eating together." This sounded like something that Alice had been missing out on. She wasn't going to lie, she could be a bit of a slob herself (probably due to her innate clumsiness), but from the way Lexi made it sound, she had nothing on her!

Alice nodded as Lexi told her it was best to just let it go. Alice had done all she could do to help her father and ultimately it was his choice as to whether or not he was going to let her mother leaving destroy him. Perhaps that made her callous or perhaps it just made her realize that sometimes you have to selfish, and to be quite honest a 12 year old shouldn't have the responsibility of taking care of their father.

She couldn't help but snort slightly as Lexi commented that the Statute was garbage. "Well I suppose to some it must be interesting," Alice said with a sympathetic shrug. There was nothing worse than having to sit and listen to someone talk about something that you could care less about. Alice often felt that way in her math classes in Muggle School. Just. Plain. Boring.

"What all have we been learning in Defense Against the Dark Arts?" Alice had missed so much work she was sure, and she was dreading trying to play catch up. She hated falling behind and it seemed like her work load was going to be never ending for the rest of this term. She might as well have been preparing for the O.W.L.s given how much studying and work she was going to have to do.

Laughing slightly Lexi shook her head. "It's not for the faint of heart or... the weak stomached," Lexi said giggling. "But, we can head to the kitchens for a quick bite if you'd like. I COULD eat," she said with a grin.

"Well yes, it is interesting to some, I am sure. But, it is all we have been covering in ALL of our classes. Muggles and the piece of crud Statute. I'd quite like to get my magical education you know," Lexi said as she tossed her book onto the table beside herself.

Standing up slowly and stretching a great stretch she said, "Come on, let's go eat or somefink. I need to get out of here. Oh and DADA... was about Muggles too. It's been utterly useless if you ask me. Who can learn to defend themselves against Dark Arts if all you talk about is Muggles and a bloody antiquated Statute?" Nfffmmmmm. Whatever.

Food? Yes! Let's go. Lexi nodded her head toward the portrait hole as if to say LET'S GO LITTLE LION.

Alice couldn't help but laugh along with Lexi. Go to the Great Hall for some food? Absolutely! "Some food sounds amazing!" Alice said rubbing her tummy appreciatively. "And I'll agree it is a bit strange that you'd be talking about Muggles in Defense Against the Dark Arts." Alice personally knew growing up in a muggle home that compared to the magical world, they were pretty boring. Magic was definitely more exciting!

''Still,you've done most of your homework,and I have to do mine now!''she nodded,as she realized how mush work there is. She was carefully listening to everything he was saying. ''I am a half-blood as well! It must have been great to live in Japan! Is it too different than here? I was born and raised in London,but I've travelled a lot. Still have to visit Japan,though.'' she said. ''Was it hard for you to move in England?''she asked,guessing the answer. It had to be hard,suddenly to move and learn a new language,make new friends...... ''Tell me something interesting on Japanese!''she chuckled.
She saw that he wasn''t feeling very comfortable so she quickly said.''Hey,dude don't be embarressed,just relax! I wanna meet you better!''and smiled widely. She is always this attacky,all her friends know that. But she is just trying to be nice and kind. Hope he'll relax.

"I think everyone prefers their own house...or at least I should hope so!" Adelyn said cheerfully. She loved making new friends, and was especially glad to meet another nice person in her own house. "That's so great! I love it here; it's almost better than home. I'm in my third year." Adelyn smiled, showing off a dimple on each cheek.

"I knew it was you because you're the only Gryffindor girl that would do this to me" Rex laughed. "I'm glad you're better now because we don't want a sick Jacqueline, not a fun Jacqueline" Rex told her. "I am fine but it seems your book bag is not being kind to you" Rex said to Jacqueline. "Well I believe you're a good girl but you know who you really are" Rex teased Jacqueline. "'Sis', would you like me to rub your back?" Rex asked Jacqueline.
"Well, I'm not doing anything this afternoon, so what are we doing 'Sis'?" Rex asked Jacqueline.

"Well, I'm glad we are friends and it doesn't matter how you make friends as long as you make them" Rex explained to Cass. "Well, not everyone can like Magical Creatures class and it's not always interesting" Rex told Cass. "I will be opening a dance studio in Spain after I graduate and also get married this July" Rex said to Cass.

Cass gives another shy smile to Jacky, "Yes living in Japan is very different from here, the culture is different and not just among the magical community, but for the muggles as well. People there react differently that people do here in Britain, as to moving here the hardest part was the fact that we traveled by muggle airplane and had to send a lot of things over separately by magical means. That is the things that would have been hard to explain to the muggles at customs when we got here." Taking a breath, and wondering why he s so talkative now, maybe as he really was not wanting to do the Runes homework yet... yea that's why he is talking so much.

"As to learning English, that was not problem actually. I was raised speaking Japanese and English by my parents, it drove many of the muggle primary school teachers mad because I could speak English better than the school's English teacher usually." He grins at this, "That was fun though. Once we got here I finish the last couple years of Primary School then the letters arrived, one from Hogwarts and one from the one my mother attended in Japan. My parents where surprised to get two, mom had expected only the one from Hogwarts as her old school had originally stated that I would not be accepted there as I was not fully Japanese, I guess something changed."

Jacob walked into the common room and sat down in one of the armchairs by the fire and warmed up a little. The room was empty and quiet apart from the flickering of the fire so he waited for someone to walk through the door.

"Yea, I am trying to but there is still a lot of work to be done here too." He sighs, "Well a school is a school no matter what the main subject is it teaches. As to the future, my mom and her family want me to carry on their ways even if I stay here in Europe, and dad is trying to teach me some of what he does, though with out going to a muggle college I will never really be able to get a job like his."

Cass looks over the common room and smiles, "Hogwarts has become something of a second home, and while have have some wanting me to follow them, they still say I need to find out what I want to do." he then looks a Rex and asks, "Why do you want to open a dance studio, if you don't mind me asking?"

But then my mom's family have always tried to blend in to muggle towns and such for as long as the family has a history. And my dad id not a healer, he designs and test electronic devices of all sorts. He has recently been working on getting more electronic items to work in high magic areas like the Ministry and such, and to help figure out ways to make it secure as well for them." He takes a breath and looks down at the spell book he has been looking through, "And this is mainly what my family would like me to do, as for me I am not sure yet."

Hearing that Rex has won a dance contest he smiles, "So you like dance, how long have you been doing it?"

Sebastian walked from the boy's dormitories over to one of the couches in the Gryffindor Common Room. Landing upon the soft cushions of the couch, he waited for Sophie, his girlfriend, to come down from whatever she was doing. At the tea party, things hadn't gone as planned due to the shortness of time and he hoped today he could change that. He searched in his pocket for something to eat, finding nothing, he sighed. Why did he have to be so hungry all the time?

Cass smiles slightly, "I am not sure how important in the muggle world they they are. My dad is just one of many that do the job he does, but he is one of a very few to do it for as many items as possible. Mom is a witch and actually runs a small clothing store near our home, The Falcons Den Tailors, while she sells to muggles and all, she caters to helping witches and wizards with proper muggle clothing." Man explaining what his parents do takes a long time... But he is really smiling now, talking about his family usually cheers him up a lot.

"Dad hopes that he can help them, if not merge magic and 'technology', at least get them to work better together. Though I wounder how some in the magical community will react to a computer and such." Cass finds it hard to believe that some members of the magical community have any idea what some electronic items are at all.

"I see, then as mom says you where meant to dance and you have realized it. I think you will enjoy you life after school." People that find something that just seems right with them are lucky, it means they will enjoy their life. "As to me being a healer I have never really thought about it, I guess I can check and see about it. Thanks for the idea Rex." another shy grin.

"Umm... Girls? I have some friends here that are girls, if that is what you mean." What was he asking Cass, and what was that look in his eyes... Did he expect Cass a 2nd year to be looking for a... gulp... Girlfriend? The look that Rex gives him starts to make him a little nervous.

Rushing back up to the common room before the cookies became too cold, Kurumi burst through the door carrying a rather large red box in her hands and her cat following close behind her. She quickly made her way over to one of the tables and set the box down, opened it, and allowed the aroma of fresh sugar cookies with strawberry and vanilla icing to fill the room.

SPOILER!!: cookies!

She then left a note saying Happy Valentine's Day to her fellow Gryffindors and was just about to head back out and perhaps spend a few hours in the library when she spotted someone.
