Rushing back up to the common room before the cookies became too cold, Kurumi burst through the door carrying a rather large red box in her hands and her cat following close behind her. She quickly made her way over to one of the tables and set the box down, opened it, and allowed the aroma of fresh sugar cookies with strawberry and vanilla icing to fill the room.
She then left a note saying Happy Valentine's Day to her fellow Gryffindors and was just about to head back out and perhaps spend a few hours in the library when she spotted someone.

Jacob walked into the common room and sat down in one of the armchairs by the fire and warmed up a little. The room was empty and quiet apart from the flickering of the fire so he waited for someone to walk through the door.
