Witsy just finished washing her hands and took a piece of paper towel to dry them. She looked in the direction of a male voice complementing some cat. "Adam, hey. How are you?" She went over to pick up the cat. "Yeah she's mine, the best I've ever owned. Her name's Wolfy," she said cuddling the cat in her arms. She was started to get antsy and I let her to plop on the ground. "What have you been up to, you seemed exhausted, you alright?"

" How are you my friend?" Rex asked Witsy. " Nice to meet you, too" Rex petted her cat."What is your name?" Rex asked the cat. You are messy" Rex laughed.

Halle walked in the common room and plopped down in a seat. She sighed no one she knew was in the common room (not that she knew a lot of people anyway). She missed her brother and sister. They were all she had left. Halle sighed and leaned her head in to her hand. She always thought 'maybe next year will be better', but that never happened. She needed to meet new people, but who?

Nika agreed. "Your right all of this homework talk is giving me a headache." Nika smiled at her friend. "There isn't? I always thought funner was a word. Well we should make it a word!" Nika jumped up with enthusiasm. Nika felt a sudden pull as Ally rushed her over toward the middle of the common room. She laughed with her friend as she danced along to the chicken dance. She moved her arms in the air and smiled. "Thanks Ally." She really needed that. "Any music is fine for me!!!" Now that she was up and about nothing could stop her.



Nika was now on the dance floor moving around and dancing in circles. "Well Rex what do you think is easiest? I'm a beginner so make it easy!"



Nika threw her hands up into the air,"PARTY party party!!" Nika watched as Jacob came over and started dancing. "I like your dance moves!" Nika tried imitating his robotic ways and just failed miserably. She laughed at her own failed attempt, "I'm not very good at dancing." She admitted.




"He likes sports." Nika replied straight away without missing a beat.

"MASSIVE HEADACHE." She added as she laughed, showing some gestures with her hands to exaggerate it.

"I'd always thought so too." Alicia confessed. "Until my mum told me that it's not a word." She paused for a while and rolled her eyes up to the ceiling, reminiscing those memories she had with her mum. "But I use it many times when I talk to her. Just to annoy her, really. She can't stand people who don't speak decent English." She chuckled. "Ah, I miss her." She sighed.

She laughed so hard when Nika started to dance along to the chicken dance. "You really aren't that bad, Nika. You really can dance." Allie winked at Nika as she praised her, which she DID mean it. Although it was just a chicken dance, a really easy dance that anyone could do, she could see that Nika actually had the potential to dance. Alicia thought Nika was shy, but she was wrong as she couldn't stop dancing and laughing at her own robotic moves. Allie laughed with them. She poked Nika and whispered, "ehem.. he's funky eh?" She tried to speak as soft as she could so Jacob couldn't hear it.

"Woohooo.. There you go, Nika." She said in her happy tone. "You've got yourself a dance teacher." Alicia grinned as she kept dancing all the way, showing off her hip hop movements. Although Alicia was a horrible runner, she was pretty good at dancing. She could survive dancing the entire night if she wanted to, which she did sometimes.

"I am funner, yes? am I? I am, yeah?!" She laughed, talking confusedly. She laughed even harder when Rex said 'Vruno Marss.' She didn't correct it though as she believed that everyone could have their own way to speak/pronounce words, no matter how weird it was. She squeaked happily when she heard Lady Gaga's was mentioned. "I love her!!" She laughed. "She's extremely quirky. I quite admire her though." She said. "What do you think?" She asked for Rex's opinion about Gaga. "The Beatles, they're unbeatable!" She grinned as she also loved the band. "What's your favourite?"

"Gosh, they can transform anything! Our professors are plain amazing." She said, proud to be at Hogwarts. "I wonder if anyone here can transform a thing into a piano? Anyone? A seventh year student perhaps?" She giggled and rolled her eyes playfully to Rex. If she was not wrong, Rex was in seventh year.

"Funner.." She said it again. "Enough making fun of me, middler!" She stuck her tongue at Jacob and laughed.

"Muse! I've some of their songs in my iPod." She grinned. "They're great. You're a big fan?" Without asking anyone's permission she withdrew her wand from her robe's pocket and called out, "ACCIO, eeepod!" A few seconds later, she could see her iPod flying toward her. Alicia caught it before it fell onto the floor. Of course, if she broke her iPod this time, her parents wouldn't let her buy a new one. "I could be a good seeker, I guess." She laughed again. "Oh eeepod is my iPod name, FYI. I name her eeepod." She giggled even harder and harder, until she finally got hiccups. Whoops.. However, she didn't bother to take a glass of water or anything, she kept going dancing with her even crazier moves.

"I think the Waltz will be the easiest for you" Rex told Nika. " I will start in a few minutes" Rex said to Nika." You actually have a decent beat" Rex explained to Nika.

" Yes, you are really funner" Rex laughed." Lady Gaga is a really good singer" Rex said to Alicia. The Beatles are good, but I like the Rolling Stones better but since I listen to mostly country, my two favorite singers are Alan Jackson and Taylor Swift" Rex explained to Alicia. " Great dancing" Rex smiled.

Jacob watched as Ally's iPod flew across the room into her hand. "I like the name eeepod." Jacob said laughing with her. He laughed even louder as she got the hiccups and couldn't stop laughing.

While on the dancefloor, Jacob and his friends danced pretty 'rock on'. "Hey, I used to suck at dancing until I practised some moves that my friends at home used. You just need a bit of practise and you'll be sweet!" Jacob said while attempting the snake that his best friend at home uses all the time. He was having a lot of fun.

"Thank you!" She said it with pride, although she knew it didn't make any sense at all. She giggled, mimicking Lady Gaga's dance from her bad romance music video. Apparently she just watched it the other day, so she could clearly remember the moves. Her moves wasn't exactly the same as Lady Gaga, of course. But she did it in a funnier way and also added with her funny face expressions.

She couldn't stand herself, she ended up laughing so hard. "Ah I like Taylor Swift." She smiled as she started to sing along 'you belong with me'

Her hiccups went worse, but she still couldn't stop laughing. Every time she looked at Jacob's face, she laughed. She had no idea why. Sometimes she could just laugh at random things. She hunched her shoulders and rubbed her stomach. "O god, painful.." She then took a deep breath in but started laughing again when she looked up and her eyes met Jacob's. Strange.

Alicia tried to divert her attention by singing. She randomly change the music into Ke$ha's. Started to sing and dance according to her own silly style.

"Nika. Do you like him!?" she said quietly, so only they could hear.
She could do the math. Nika blushing at the boy, having lots in common.
She liked him! Aw!
"I mean, do you like like him?" Just so she was clear.

Emily noticed an older girl sitting. She looked sad, like she had before.
"Hi" she smiled at the girl, wondering if she wanted to make conversation.

" You are welcome" Rex told Alicia. I know good dancing when I see it" Rex said to Alicia. " I am glad you like Taylor Swift" Rex smiled. " Do not tell Rene, but Taylor Swift is really hot" Rex explained to Alicia laughing. Good singing, too, you are very talented" Rex smiled.

Witsy looked over to the sound of a familiar voice. She took a noticeably deep breath and stretched her head towards the ceiling and spoke as if she witnessed heaven, "I strolled through the garden today and I planted a few things." She put her hands together and it looked as if she came back from a spa. "I forgot how much I loved gardening, I think I may go back before sun-down."

She thought it adorable that Rex was talking to her cat. She wished she knew a jinx to suddenly make the cat speak but that was way above her. She started to giggle at the thought.

"Who me?" She looked down at her close and saw the remaining dirt covering her. She tried brushing it off and was once again stuck on her hands, "Yeah haven't gotten far enough to change," she lightly slapped his cheek to be funny. Laughing she replies, "You too!"

Halle looked up from where she was staring out into space to see a girl standing there. "Hello, I'm Halle. How do you do?" She stuck out her hand for greeting.

"I'm fine thanks." she took the girls hand and shook. "Nice to meet you Halle. I'm Emily."She coughed, then sat next to Halle. "Are you alright? You look kind of sad, if you don't mind me saying." But she'd said it already. Please don't mind me saying! she thought.

Jacob kept on laughing and then met Ally's eyes. As she started singing he danced to the new beat. He was having so much fun that he wanted to stay up all night long!!! "We should stay up for ages." Jacob said.

"Nice to meet you Emily." Halle shook her hand. "I don't mind at all. I think it's nice that you asked. I miss my brother and sister. My brother has raised us since he was eighteen, so were really close." Halle explained. Finally someone that was truly a kind person.

"Okay Rex sounds good!" Nika gave him a thumbs up. It was nice to have such good friends.



Nika looked at Ally and burst out into laughter. "Me? Not bad?" She started to laugh again. She put one of her hands on her head. She had her elbow pointing outwards and then she held onto her foot. She moved her arm back and forth and then she stopped. She burst out into more laughter. "This is fun!"



"WOOHOOO!" Nika did some more funky dance moves as she watch Jacob dance. "WOW..." That was all she had to say. He is a good dancer. "How do you do all of this?!?!" Nika mouth was hanging wide opened. "I'm impressed!" Her friends were all such good dancers! Nika jumped up and down some more. "WE should stay up for ages!!! This is just too much fun!" Nika giggled and swayed back and forth. "I can go on forever. PSH, Who needs sleep!!?!"



Nika looked at Emily in shock. "Er..." Nika ran her hands through her hair. "Could we talk about this later?" Nika looked over her shoulder making sure that no one else was listening to her.

" Planting, what a good way for exwecise" Rex told Witsy. Going again, you may need a break" Rex said to Witsy." I like your smooth fur" Rex explained to the cat." You have time to change later" Rex smiled. " Yes, you were firty and so am I now" Rex laughed.

" " Now just spread your legs apart just a little bit" Res said to Nika. " Now one of yoru hands goes up in the air and we both use our hands to hold around our bodies" Rex explained to Nika. " Now, I put my hand in your hand" Rex told Nika. " Time to Waltz" Rex smled.

"Aw" Emily said. She really was feeling for Halle. "I often miss my sister too. We'd been through a lot and we're pritty close as well. But, I'm sure you'll see them again soon. Do you write to them a lot?"
Merlin knows she did with her sister! Her parents... not so much.
Halle seemed really sweet. And was close with her siblings as well!

"Sure." Emily said ruffling Nika's hair "But there is no need to look so shocked. It's perfectly alright if you have a crush." But Nika didn't want to talk about it, so she woudn't. Time for a change of subject.
"Hey. It's your birthday soon, isn't it?"

Elyon skipped into the common room, struggling to hold her squirming, and obese, cat Chunk. She sat down on a squashy, red arm chair, and tried to read a book, but was having a bit of trouble. Chunk would not stop squirming all over the place. She laughed and pulled her cat on her lap. "Chunk, why are you so silly?" A few people around gave her some really weird looks for speaking to her cat in such a normal manner, but she didn't mind. She didn't have many friends to judge her anyway.

Christopher hopped though the portait hole, looking around the common room. When his eyes fell upon his younger sister, he sat down next to her and her gigantic cat. "Hey El, hey Chunk." He grinned and looked over at her book. "What are you reading?" He loved hanging out with his little sister. After all, she was his best friend, nerdy as it was.

Nika was glad for the change of subject. She decided that it would be better to talk to Emily when they were alone. Yeah, alone is good. "Yeah, yeah it is!" Nika got very excited and almost squealed. "I can't believe that I almost forgot! I guess I was just having too much fun!"

Nika did what Rex told her to. She held onto Rex's hand maybe a bit too tightly. "Sorry Rex." She loosened her grip. "I'm just really nervous. I don't want to mess up really badly and hurt you." She relaxed at the sight of Rex's smile. "Okay time to waltz."

Elyon looked up when she felt someone plop down next to her. "Christy!" She laughed at the fake glare that slid on to his face. He hated when she called him that. Chunk crawled over into her brother's lap, making Elyon laugh. That big, old cat always preferred her brother for reasons unknown. "I think he's saying 'Hello!' to you! He's been giving me trouble all afternoon!" She giggled.

The small Gryffindor held up her book. "Catcher in the Rye!" She and Chris both loved the classical stuff. They'd been raised on it!

"Ha ha ha. Very funny!" Christopher said jokingly. He did not like being called "Christy" at all. His sister used to call him that before she could say 'Christopher.' He was a bit surprised when Chunk randomly curled up on his leg. He was used to it though, that cat pratically stalked him. "Oh Chunk. Go see Elyon. Go!" He tried to push off the cat, but he (Chunk) was so fat that it was quite a challenge.

"Oh, that's a good one!" They read books like that all the time. He was glad he had so much in common with Elyon. Christopher hated when siblings fought, and getting to hang out with El was pretty fun.

Emily smiled and dragged her bag closer to her. She finally realised she was still holding the letter and stuffed it in her pocket.
"It'll be your first birthday away from home won't it?" she asked hopeing Nika woudn't be too upset about this "I'm sure they'll send you your present by then! Speaking of which..."
She opened her bag and pulled out Nika's present in a box of gryffindor colours!
"Happy Early Birthday! Sorry but I coudn't wait!" she smiled handing it to Nika. Open it!

Nika nodded her head slowly. "Yeah it is." Nika missed her family, but here she had her Hogwarts family and that was good enough. Nika saw the present and her eyes lit up. "Oh Emily! You didn't have to get me anything! Your friendship is a present itself." She put the beautifully wrapped present beside her and gave Emily a HUGE hug. "Thanks Emily." Nika let go of her friend so that she would be able to breathe again. "Should I open it?"
