Ling's smirk broadened. How dare he? He had every right to accuse her of thinking such horrid ideas. He may not have been an expert in Occlumency by any stretch but he knew when she was trying to make herself look innocent when she wasn't. She could hide behind her big, blue eyes and pretend that she was never at fault but Ling refused to buy it for even a second. He was fed up of being around silly little girls who lied all the time and were insecure.

"It's not terrible, I suppose..." the older boy began evenly, haughty boredom still plastered across his pale face. It was obvious he wasn't going to give her an inch, no matter how many times she would insist--even if she were at the brink of tears. He was sick of the tears and of her immature drama. "However, it's pretty useless at this point."

He resumed tracing the inside of the wand, making it very clear that it was a chore talking to her and he didn't make eye contact. "I've moved ahead. I might possibly even change the world within a couple years. Who knows? That said, I don't need this pitiful excuse for a friendship anymore and I certainly don't need you dragging me down. I've grown up, Emmy, and it's clear that you're never going to. You're only saying these things to benefit yourself and further proving that you're a fake little hypocrite."

"You wound me, Elliot. I'm your best friend, am I?" Freya asked. "I won't judge you because you were enjoying somethings muggles..!!How thick you think I am?" Really Elliot was soooooo stupid sometime. "Nope. I have a six sense. Didn't you know?" she smirked. She just had a good hunch that's all. "Oh. She was a muggle?" she raised her eyebrows. Wow. She never guessed the girl was a muggle. "How come you didn't tell me anything?!" she said frustrated. Then Elliot said he'd take her to the muggle theater. "Really?!I'd love too" she said smiling widely.

Emmy looked at him in disbelief.
"My god you've changed." she shook her head, saying, "What the hell happened to you - you were such a good person when we met..."
She stood there, trying to digest the scant information he was letting slip.

No matter how much she loved him, it couldn't be clearer that the feeling was no longer mutual. A wave of sadness washed over her, to be replaced with a great feeling of pity.
"I'm not altogether sure you have grown up, Ling - any mature adult would be satisfied with multiple apologies and admissions of guilt and would be willing to let bygones be bygones. But not you, no sir. And what on earth d'you mean, 'change the world'? It doesn't need changing!"

Elliot chuckled "Of course you are my best friend. What kind of question is that?" he asked. "I'm not saying something like that. I'm just afraid that's all." he shrugged. "You?!" he pointed his finger to her "Have a six sense?!I don't believe you!" he chuckled. "Yeah. She is. I didn't have a chance to tell you. You were moving to Devon and I couldn't just said something like that over a letter" he said. He couldn't think what his father would think if he found that about it. "Yeah. We could definitely go there in the summer. What do you say?" he asked smirking.

As they reached the dance floor, with Jimmy leading Marie gently by the hand, but firmly enough that he wouldn't accidentally lose her in the crowd, James smiled over his shoulder, not quite able to resist checking her out again. Hehe.

He found a spot that wasn't too crowded and stopped, tugging her close and immediately placing one hand on her lower back, brows raised. "The music isn't bad, huh?"

She was so gonna get herself twirled.

Marie followed Jimmy out to the dance floor not missing the fact that he was checking her out again. She may have been doing the same thing too. After all, she did have a great view from where she was... behind him.

She felt her heartbeat race a little as he pulled her close and put his hand on her back. She instinctively reached up and put a hand around the back of his neck. "The music is nice," she said looking into his eyes.

She could so lose herself just looking into his eyes... they were rather hypnotizing.

James was content just to dance, without bothering to talk to much, which was probably good because Marie seemed suddenly quite distracted. Grin. He had a fair idea of why, and he met her eyes and smiled that crooked grin at her. It was weird that he was already having fun. They'd barely been there for long at all.

"Nice enough." He agreed, leaning forward juuuuust a bit..... and then grinning again and twirling her instead of kissing her as it had looked like he was about to do.

"Probably could do this with you without music." He pulled her close and kept them both moving. He could kinda feel her heart being all... manic. However he was less focused on that part of her anatomy, even if it did, in its own way, provide a beat to dance to. Thinking too much about other bits made his own heart be just a bit erratic too. Ahem.

"I wasn't exactly inclined to put much effort into this entire thing." Seeing as he hadn't even wanted to come. "It just isn't." How could he go about explaining that he didn't like the idea of it? It wasn't like she was his girlfriend, or anything more than a simple friend. Really, he wasn't sure he had the right to an opinion about it. But it made his stomach churn a bit. "This is me being ridiculous, I guess, but it just feels funny."

If Raiden was trying to convey something to her about his costume, it was beyond her. She simply didn't like it and he had put it BACK ON. The black face-sucking stuff. He SO got huffed at.

"You ARE known though. I knew you. You are pretty easy to place, actually. No one else looks like you." True enough. It was sort of like Kellen, too. She could always find him in and among a crowd. He just... somehow stood out. To her at least. There was someone else that she could always pick out, too, someone ... bah. Someone that she was absolutely, positively, not in a million years EVER going to look at again. She hoped he fell down and squished his stupid date.

"I'm flattered, Raaaaaaaaaaiden." GIGGLE. So was. Neptune kept Raiden through the next song, this one a bit slower and taking less effort to keep up with. "You're not only...," GIGGLEEEEEE,' looking and unable to stop doing so, but you... care. It's sweet. You're ridiculous, but not all the bad sort of ridiculous."

Fee walked around the dance floor. Edmond had gone to get them some drinks and now she was looking out for some of her friends.

Ohh look a pirate girl. How cool was that? Fee felt sooo uncreative being Cinderella,but somehow she looked good in her dress.Scopting closer she noticed who that pirate girl was.

"Ruuuubiiiiieeeeyyyy",she squealed.
She hadnt seen her besti for aaages. Oh my glitter.

Rubiey tugged nervously at the hem of her pirateskirtthingamajig. She felt super duper awkward. These kind of social gatherings that involved dancing and dates was so not her thing. She shouldn't have come. Maybe if she turned around, noone would have realised-

Then she heard her name.

She sighed, and span around, only to be staring at a familiar blonde girl in a light blue ballgown. Her exasperated face split into a grin.

Cinderella. Of course. What else could Fee turn up as?!

"Feeeee! You look amazing!" She said, hugging her bestie. It felt like she hadn't seen her in forever. She felt herself relax slightly. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad afterall...

"Awww thank you hun",Fee smiled happily,"you do as well."
The pirate girl just fitted Rubies perfect.

"Girl i missed you so much",she said,"where have you been?!"
Sometimes she hated the fact that they were in different houses.

"Can you really believe its already the end of term?"

Fee loved balls with dancing and stuff but that this was the end of term ball just confused her. This didnt feel like a year at all.

Rubiey smiled. She knew that she'd look like a complete dork, but standing next to Fee, who was soooo the belle of the ball, made her feel scruffy. Then again, she wasn't all sparkly and pretty. Her reddish brown hair was always a mess, so why bother? Pirate seemed the easiest option for her.

She pouted. "I've been sooo swamped in homework and stuff, I've barely left the common room! It's not fair!" She hated that Fee wasn't in her house. It sucked she didn't get to see her best friend often enough.

Rubiey sighed."No. It feels like just yesterday we were in Diagon Alley, and now look at us! At the end of term ball dressed as pirates and princesses! I can't believe we're in almost in our second year!" Time just flew by here. Summer was just around the corner. "What are you planning for summer?" She asked Fee. Rubiey had no clue herself.

Oh yes, Nikolai was sure she would have been stolen, too. One can not be standing in the middle of the room dressed in what she was wearing and expect to be alone for long. Especially if that one person just so happened to be Sandra. Strange she was with him at this ball instead of someone else. "I am sure they would have." he agreed with a nod. "And I am glad I made it to you before they had a chance to." Because he was not in the mood to fight for her attention, but he did have a sword attached to his belt.

Be scared. Everyone.

He might have known she wasn't one for dressing up in costumes, but he had thought maybe just this once she would have. Nope. Really though, he was not complaining at all. He took a step back to watch as she modeled her dress, a smirk growing on his face. "Yes, I agree. And it suits you perfectly." he said, and holding out his hand, he waited for her to take it. They were going to dance, yes? Not that he wanted to or could, but he was in costume, no one would recognize him. Hopefully.. Although he did catch Mia looking at him. Err..

"So, we will be on our way home soon.."

Fee knew her bestie well. Rubies once again didnt notice how beautiful she actually was. from now on that was Fee's mission : Make Rubies realize that she is amazing and stunning.

"Yeah same here",she sighed,"its sooooo stupid.I slept at the library one because i learned the whole night."
And this was only the first year. Oh Jesus.
"I hate it that we are in different houses",she said,"we could've been studying together."
And spend more time together. Argh.

"Yees i cant believe it, soooo strange",Fee laughed," it feels like a few weeks."
But within that time she made so many friends and met Edmond,what was the most amazing thing ever.
And besides that the time she had here was the best time of her life.

"Umm summer?",she tipped her finger against her chin,"nothing really.Missing you."

Rubiey huffed. Sure, Hogwarts was amazing and everything, but it was much harder than she had expected. Not only was there the lessons to keep up with, but all the social gossiping going on, as well as finding her way around the castle. It was so big, and she still hadn't figured out where the trick steps in the staircases were, or which door led to the kitchens. Life at Hogwarts was tough.

Smiling slightly, she nodded. "Yup, it sure does. It's been a rollercoaster of a year." Understatement of the century.

She laughed. "N'aww. I'll miss you too. I'm at my grandparents again. Ireland in the summer is alright, I guess." She mused. It was alot better in the winter: snow everywhere. Winter was Rubiey's favourite time of year.

Fee noticed Rubies huffing. Was something wrong? Did something happen whilst they haven seen eachother?
"Love are you good?"


So true, in just one year had happend so much. from jealousy to guys that fell in love with you,friendships that ended only to be made up again and with all that the lessons and homework. Daaamn...
"And what a rollercoaster it was",she nodded.

As she heard her bestie would miss her,too an idea popped up in her head.
"Rubies?",she asked smiling,"would you want to come over for a few weeks or days?"

As they had been together at her grandparents it had been amazing why not repeat?!

Rubiey looked at Fee blankly, then smiled. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine." She said, waving her hand. She just didn't want this year to be over. Not yet.

She nodded along with the Slytherin, then giggled. "We're acting like we're leaving! We've only just finished our first year, I don't think we're allowed to sound old and sentimental just yet." She laughed. They turned into such grannies around eachother, it was quite amusing.

As she was speaking about Ireland, she practically saw a lightbulb flicker over Fee's head. She hesitated, listened to what the blonde had to say, then gasped. "Fee! You're a GENIUS! I'd LOVE too!" She squealed uncharacteristically, and hugged her. OHMYMERLIN that would be furrrrrrn!

"Good then",Fee smiled,"you know we are here to have fuuuun."
Dancing and laughing that was for what a ball was.

"I knoooow",she laughed,"if everyone heard as they would laugh at us."
They were only 12 and already sounded like 80.But that was it with best friends.You had a million memorys after a short time.

"Yes you would?",Fee asked happily,"i am going to owl my parents tomorrow."
Rubies was coming with her? Woooaaaaah this summer would be soo amazing.

"Awwww,summer is going to be soo awesome",she squealed,"we're going to have so much fun."

Silly? What he was doing wasn't silly! Jack believed that if Ozymandias was called silly, then he would have beat up the person who had said it and proved them wrong. However Jack wasn't going to hit his girlfriend, not now and not ever. All superheroes do the superhero pose so he couldn't possibly be different from the rest ... apart from the fact that he was much more awesome. "If silly means incredibly awesome and invincible, then I am silly." Jack grinned, trying his best to not look stupid whilst danceing with her.

He raised his eyebrow at her squeal, he knew girls got excited when guys did things that were considered quite chivalry, but Jack thought that Rhea was better than that. Siiigh. "You are indeed." He winked. Jack laughed at this, this was true. There was magic, then supernatural powers, they were pretty similar in a way, yet magic was not something new to him, whereas superheroes were. "Magic can't give you super human intelligence and make you epicly strong, can it?"

Rubiey nodded again. "Yep. Ball's are... fun." She added lamely. Chyeah, right.

She giggled. "I know! They would think us right wierdos. Which we are, of course." She grinned. "Of COURSE I wanna come! I've never been anywhere except Ireland and England!" She laughed. This summer would just be another repeat of the Christmas holidays. Which was NOT a problem with Rubiey. Christmas was AMAZING, and Rubiey was sure summer would be just the same.

"So, Princess, where's Prince Charming?" She asked curiously. Was Edmond dressed as a Prince? Now that would be funny to see.

And there was the huffing. She was put out over his mask? Well. He wasn't that fond of her costume's lack of cover, so they had that shared feeling. Hrm.

"Easy to place if you've eyes that know me, and even then it's not immediately easy to tell, is it. You didn't realise right off. Nor did Nia and Mia."

He was well aware of how different from most other people he looked. His face and features made him the odd person out in most situations. At least with his eyes and half his face behind the mask, part of those features were hidden. He was pretty sure he could still claim anonymity with at least a large part of the attendees. He'd be pleased to keep it that way.

"I'm looking because I'm hoping it will somehow magically become more... there." It wasn't a matter of him wanting to see the bits of exposed Neptune skin. He automatically slowed his motions as the music changed and she kept a hold on him, keeping his eyes very carefully to himself now. Not that he didn't want Neptune to feel flattered, but... he preferred not flattering her in such a way. "Is it ridiculous enough that you'd consider wearing my jacket for at least a little while? I'm sure I'd be less ridiculous then."

It was a pretty substantial offer, giving her his jacket. Considering all that was underneath was a white tank top thing, as the jacket essentially was his shirt. But if it got Neptune covered up, he'd do it.

"Rubies",Fee laughed,"you dont really like balls do you?"
Her bestie was so cute trying to sound fun. But you could totally sense it.

"I guess there is no doubt that we are weird",she giggled,"but let me tell you i like it."

It made her insanly happy that Rubies wanted to come. Summer with her bestie? Could only be awesome. And maybe,just maybe they would go to their holiday house in Germany.

"Oh maybe aou will see Germany this year then",she winked,"daaamn i am excited now."

Looking around searching fdor Edmond she turned back to Rubies.
"Mhhh he went to grab a drink",she smiled,"i guess he met someone and got lost talking."

Rhea rolled her eyes good naturedly as they began to dance. Yeah so jack was in total boy mood right now with the whole super hero bit going on and she could work with that. That was the point of the costume party wasn't it? For everyone to be someone else for a night and forget their cares.. Thats what she got from it anyways. She moved across the floor with Jack, only occasionally glancing at the persons moving around her. She absolutely loved dancing. She giggled at Jack's response."Yes, I suppose you are all those things silly Jack."

Rhea took note of Jack's raised eyebrow and felt her cheeks warm. He caught her off guard with the twirl, she didn't mean to squeal, but oh well, she already had, nothing she could do about it now, was there? She chuckled quietly when he winked at her and moved her hand slightly up his back. She shook her head. No she supposed regular magic didn't do that. You were either born strong and smart or well you made a potion or something which would probably only last so long."No I suppose it can't."

"I think if I wear someone's coat, it should be his. He's my DATE, you know. He asked me. Awwww he's so sweet, did you know?" Giggle. Where WAS he, anyway?

"But maybe I SHOULD try and make him a little jealous....?" Giggle. Maybe...?

"Stalker-looking person?" He was not a stalker-looking person. He'd paused to look at her out of abject horror, because her shirt was not nearly there as much as it should be. "Would you prefer the cow, or the banana, to stare at you?"

Because there was a chance they were. He had no clue where they'd gotten to. He still didn't even know who the cow was.

...why... why would... what?

"Why would Kellen be jealous?" Surely he would see why Raiden had suggested such a thing. Kellen wasn't stupid. Plus, he was Neptune's date, he'd already seen this... costume. "That's nice. That he asked you. I'm glad you're here together."

Because Kellen could be trusted not to be a terrible human being.

"Why would you want to make him jealous? He's Kellen."

Kellen didn't get jealous. Kellen got intellectual.
