And now time for the spinning of the spoon. Standing on her tippy toes, she peered over the top of the bowl and twirled her wand between her fingers. Her eyes glided over to the spoon and let her wand follow, pushing it around lazily in the bowl.
Humming a song her mom used to sing to her as she continued to move the spoon around with her wand. When the song was over, she held her wand over the bowl and slowly turned it clockwise, focusing before saying the incantation. "Locomotor spooney." The spoon didn't move, apparently it didn't like the nickname she had givin it. Turning her wand again she focused for a moment and said. "Locomotor spoon." the spoon slowly began to pick up the motion her wand was making and she smiled. Watching the spoon curiously, she picked back up her humming.

"Alright, class...just a few more minutes, then we'll be ready to start baking," she announced.
OOC: I give points for participation in the lesson, so even if Lexi doesn't specifically tell your character he or she got points, if you're participating, you'll get them.
Melissa nodded and smiled as Professor Carlton spoke to her. Two points! Cool. "Thank you Professor Carlton and you welcome," she smiled again. She was going to practise that spell until they started to bake. So she did practise and she was okay at the spell after another few attempts. Magic baking was fun.

It could make you be ready for the next task while you are using magic to finished the first one." he grinned.
Ok now to practice with the bowl. He pulled his wand out of his front apron pocket, like a waiter poised with a pen to take an order, and fixed it on the bowl in front of him. He decided to preform the old levitating spell nonverbally since he was used to it now, but after the Head Boy had swished and flicked, and the bowl was at the correct height, he spoke aloud. "Fixate!" and the bowl stopped. Ok that could have been disasterous.
The Gryffindor then turned his wand making the spoon turn in tune with it. This wasn't so bad, kind of fun really. Why did his mom complain about cooking so much???
"Mmhmm, that's exactly what I meant by multi-tasking. When we charm the spoon to act for us, we can make the most of our time by doing something else---something productive---in the meantime," she answered.

"Professor that would be great." Simon beemed as the Professor makes a suggestion, he was glad he hoped that someone would show him what to do and how to say the spell.
"We're getting ready to bake now, but don't worry---someone at your table can show you the spell in the meantime," she said, looking towards those seating nearby. Dillon tried to follow along. Cooking just wasn't his best skill. He'd never done it before. But he grabbed his spoon and his bowl and was determined to make the best cupcakes Professor Carlton had ever seen. He was sure of that.
He set his bowl on the tab and swished and flick, "Wingardium Levaso," the bowl rose into the air. So far so good. Well crumbs now he couldn't reach it. Now instead of using his wand to lower the bowl like a normal thinking person would do. Diggy grabbed a small step latter and stood on his tip toes to put his spoon into the bowl. "Locomotor spoon," he swished his wand faster than was needed and the spoon whizzed around the bowl sending blobs of batter flying everywhere.
A blob hit Diggy in his eye, "AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" his arms pinwheeled around trying to catch something to break his fall and all he got was thin air. With a loud resounding CRASH! He hit the floor and blue canaries whirled around his head.
Just as Lexi was ready to address the class and have everyone get ready to bake, she heard a loud crash coming from the opposite end of the room. Blinking, Lexi scurried from one end of the room to the next, finally coming to a young Slytherin boy who'd...done Merlin knew what...to get himself knocked out. "Oh---my! Are you alright?" she asked, not quite sure yet as to whether he was knocked out or just laid out. "Do you need me to get someone to accompany you to the Hospital Wing, or do you'll be alright?"
She sort of craned her neck up a little and addressed the class. "Go ahead and end the charm if you haven't already. Point your wand at the mixing bowl and spoon and say, 'Finite.' Remember to be ready to catch the bowl and spoon when they fall," she said. "As soon as I check on Mr. Greenwood, we'll get started with our baking..."

Selena looked at Diggy. Poor him. She pointed her wand at the spoon and bowl then said clearly, "Finite." The bowl and spoon started to fall, but Selena made sure to catch it. She didn't want another disaster occurring.
"Finite." Santi said with his hand just below to catch it. Hopefully she would teach him something he hadn't done yet, though if she didn't, at least he would have cupcakes to make him feel better.

Looking around to see what the big crash was, Evelyn didn't see anything or anyone out the ordinary. Of course, not know that the person was on the floor and half conscious.
Shrugging her shoulders, Evelyn turned back to her own bowl and spoon, raising her wand to cast Finite on it. "Finite." she mumbled, holding her hands out to catch the bowl and spoon. Well, she caught the bowl, but the spoon slipped out. Great...
Picking up the spoon, perhaps she could sneakily switch it with someone elses?

"Finite." Alice looked up ready to catch the bowl and the spoon. She cought the bowl but the spoon fell to the side of her. Oh well at least no one got hurt. She picked up the spoon and put it in the bowl, Alice decided to set it aside and wait for the next set of instructions just in case she happened to drop anything.

Trixie got set to work on the actibity they had been given. Accepting the mixing bowl and spoon. She had acieved Wingardium Leviosa first time. Well she had a very good education at Beauxbatons and it wasn't exactly hard was it? Trixie lifted her wand and used finite, catching the bowl and spoon as it fell. Wow. This cooking stuff wasn't so bad. Proud that she had accomplished what the professor was asking everyone to do, she grinned and scanned quickly around the room.
She sort of craned her neck up a little and addressed the class. "Go ahead and end the charm if you haven't already. Point your wand at the mixing bowl and spoon and say, 'Finite.' "Professor," Kel said, an idea forming in his head, "you could use these same spells for other things right?" That would only make sense. "Like, for moving the knife to chop something up, or maybe a rolling pin to flatten dough?" He was proud of himself. Not only for being brave enough to ask that question in front of the whole class, but for knowing what other things it could be useful for. He knew more about cooking than he'd thought.
With the question off of his mind, he returned his attention to the bowl and spoon in front of him. "Finite." he said, holding his left arm underneath the bowl, ready to catch it. It fell, hitting his arm, and slipped onto the desk with a clatter. Groaning, he set the bowl right-side-up, and put the spoon back in it.

When Abby noticed what was going on with Iron Man dude, she quickly ended her charm. "Finite!" She caught the bowl and spoon in her hands and set them down on the table again. "Hey! Are you okay?" she asked. Everyone had seemed to ask already, but she was still concerned. If he really needed to go to the hospital wing, she wouldn't mind volunteering to escort him.

Pam heard a loud crash then turned to look in the direction in which many others were already looking at. She saw a boy lying on the ground and the professor was next to him, worrying about him. "Yikes. Thank goodness that didn't happen to me." She thought to herself. She wouldn't want herself getting hurt and that incident served as a reminder for her to becareful. She continued looking at the boy, hoping that he wasn't seriously hurt or anything.

Amy followed some of the proffessors instructions, she tried the incantations at first, using just her spoon for practising. Wingardium Leviosa ooohps she squealed as the spoon jumped, and then fell, Windardium Leviosa, she tried again and ducked as the spoon hurtled towards her, some help please, she whimpered, watching the spell fall to the counter

Destiny got two points! Two points for being a GENIUS! Perhaps her grandmother was right in buying her Ravenclaw robes? Nodding as the Professor spoke, she quickly took a few notes as well. Multi-tasking and all that good stuff. Destiny could multi-task, she just chose not too.
She didn't really want to end the charm right now. Watching the spoon spin round, and round, and round, was too much fun! But also, it was quite a distraction. Another reason she couldn't multi-task..she got distracted too easily. Holding her hand under the bowl to be ready to catch it, Destiny pointed her wand and said, "Finite!" The bowl fell safely in her hand, and her spoon didn't even fall out like Evelyn's. "No Evelyn. I will not trade with you."
If that's what her friend was thinking.

Teegan smiled at the vast improvement they had made in a few minutes. "See, it's working, all you have to do is practice." she told the girl. "Try it again and then do step number two, with Fixate." She told her, most positive she could get it the next go around. "I'm sure you can get it this time." She told her with a large smile. She just needed some encouragement.
Upon hearing they would start soon Teegan summoned her bowl to where she was at beside the girl willing to help the girl through the lesson if she needed it. She reached over and grabbed her large notebook and her teal pen.
She nodded, glad that the girl was helping out. She swished and flicked her wand again and said, "Wingardium Leviosa." Once the bowl was in the air at a foot, she tapped the side of the bowl and said, "Fixate."
The bowl fixed itself to the height, which caused her to smile. Then, she moved the wand in a circular motion in the direction she wanted the spoon to go. "Locomotor Spoon." It didn't move as fast as she would like, but it was moving.
Her smile grew even more when suddenly, the teacher told them that they were needing to bring their bowls down. So, she pointed her wand at the spoon and bowl, saying, "Finite."
They instantly dropped and she barely caught them in time.

"EEK." Simon suddenly saw the badge, what if he made a fool of himself in front of the Head boy, he was scared but he managed to say. "Thanks for helping me Mister Headboy sir." Simon smiled he was glad that someone had helped him.
Simon looked at the bowl. "Wingardium Leviosa." Simon was relieved when the spell worked now for the next bit, but what had the boy said the spell was.
Oh Yeah. "Fixit." Simon said but it didn't sound right. "Fixite." Simon was watching the bowl continue to float, he looked at the Headboy. "Excuse me what was the Spell to stop it floating?" Simon asked looking at his bowl floating in the air.

Teegan beamed at the girl, proud of both, herself and the girl for accomplishing the task. "Great job!" she exclaimed nodding her head. She turned to her bowl and moving spoon, wand out and pointed at it. "Finite." She said carefully, the bowl and spoon dropped suddenly and landed in her arms. The spoon, suprisngly didn't pop out of the bowl like some of the other students. She placed the bowl and spoon on the table and sat down. She turned back to the girl. "I'm Teegan." She smiled introducing herself.

Maybe if he just laid there no one would pay him any attention, but he heard voices. He moved slighty just to let everyone know that he wasn't totally knocked out. But then he heard her voice. It sounded like a chocolate river flowing over warm, fresh baked cookies. In other words. It sounded like pure nirvana. What was next? He tried to remember how Professor Carlton had put the directions and then spoke up. "Oh ok, well after you have the bowl hovering, use the spell Locomotor Spoon, and then make a stirring motion with you wand. It will then stir that way until you want to finish it." he took a breath and then continued. "Ok lastly you will point your wand at the bowl and spoon and end the magic using Finite. "Hmm...somewhat. The combination of charms we've been practicing levitates, fixes in place, then causes something to turn. You could definitely use variations of the charm for other things, though, like the chopping you mentioned" she answered. "For instance, earlier I mentioned the charm being able to cause dishes to wash themselves. That's a situation where you'd use levitation, fixing in place, then turning...for the washrag." Of course with washing dishes, there was a way to charm the dishes to put themselves away once they were clean, but that would be another day and another time. "Good thinking..."

Heaven...Lexi sort of wanted to answer that with a yes, but only because there were cupcakes being baked. She studied the Greenwood for a minute, trying to decide if he was alright or not. He seemed okay...if he could ask about being in heaven and all. "Are you alright, Mr. Greenwood? Do you need the healer?" she asked. Seeing that Dillon seemed to be alright, Lexi decided to go ahead and get the rest of the class started on the baking process while she tended to Dillon.
Lexi levitated a stack of Enchantments in Baking around the room. "When the books pass you by, please grab a copy and turn to page 317. This is where you'll find several cupcake recipes. Find a partner or a small group to work with---or work alone if you'd prefer, and between or among yourselves, decide which type of cupcakes you'd like to bake," she explained.
She took her wand and motioned towards the back of the room. "All the ingredients and equipment you'll need are in the back of the room. You can go ahead and get started when you're ready, but remember, I want to see you making use of the combination of charms we've just practiced. If you need me for anything, I'll be circulating the room," she said. She waved her free hand in the direction of the ingredients and equipment, encouraging the students to go ahead and get started.
OOC: The cupcake recipes I linked you to are just suggestions. If you can find a different recipe online that you'd rather use, feel free to go ahead and do so. Just remember to use the charm for full credit. Just prepare/bake as you normally would and incorporate the charms when you need to stir. Also, the lesson won't start to wrap up anytime soon (to allow all timezones a change to participate), so take your time baking your cupcakes and using the charm. For full credit, it should take you more than a few posts to roleplay baking your cupcakes.
If you're trying to catch up and see what we've been doing, there are links in the first post. Have fun!
