Victoria smiled and nodded. "That sounds fine to me." Then, she wrote down the ingredients and directions.
After she got done writing them, she looked back at Teegan. "So...where should we start at first?"
Teegan looked back down at the list looking specifically at the the ingredients, "How about we split the ingredients in half and get enough for both batches?" she questioned although she knew the girl would agree to whatever she said. She added bullets to each of the ingredients before circiling the top six ingredients.

Ingredients
• 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 12 egg whites from large eggs ( enough for 1 1/2 cups)
• 1 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
"I'll get the flour, sugar, and eggs if you'll get the cream of tartar, salt and vanilla extract." she told Victoria looking over at her. She wiped her bangs behind her ears, and pushed her long blonde hair behind her shoulders. She looked around to see a few other students that she knew faintly.

"Well..this is perfect..Right, so I'll make Low fat cupcakes." she said to herself and then looked for the ingredients.

Low Fat Cupcake Ingredients :
• 1 cup cake flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 6 large eggs, separated
• 2 tablespoons ice water
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
she looked around and grab the ingredients for the cupcakes..Noir put the spoon in the bowl and then levitated it by using the proper swish and flick and she said the spell, ”Wingardium Leviosa!" when it was hovering in the air at a good height, she tapped the side and said, ”Fixate!” causing it to stay mid air. Then she pointed her wand at the spoon and began moving her wand as though stirring something in the bowl and said, ”Locomotor spoon!” The spoon began spinning.."That went well.." she smiled.
Teegan looked back down at the list looking specifically at the the ingredients, "How about we split the ingredients in half and get enough for both batches?" she questioned although she knew the girl would agree to whatever she said. She smiled and nodded. "Alright." Then, she left to grab the cream of tartart, salt, and vanilla extract.
Teegan followed Victoria to the supplies with her bowl in hand to collect the ingredients, adding up how much of each ingredient they would need. "Two and a half cups all purpose flour, three cups of sugar and twenty four egg whites." She told herself.
Once she had all of the ingredients she had designated herself to get for their cupcakes Teegan made her way back to table setting the bowl down and taking each thing out separately and lying them on the table between her stuff and Victoria's stuff. She then turned to look at her notebook waiting for Victoria to join her with her designated ingredients so they could get started.

She gave the Head Girl an approving smile, then returned to the front of the classroom.
"If you haven't already gotten an apron and changed it to whatever color you wanted it to be, hurry and do so now," she said, addressing the class. She stopped in the center of the room next to a table of about four or five. "The charm we're focusing on today, though, will cause a spoon...or any utensil, really...to turn on its on and a washrag to clean all the dishes for us."
"Follow along...," she instructed. Still standing next to that table of four or five, Lexi grabbed one of the extra wooden spoons and placed it inside one of the extra mixing bowls. With a swish, flick in the direction of the bowl, she said, "Wingardium Leviosa!" When the mixing bowl was about a foot or so in the air, she tapped her wand against its side and said, "Fixate!" The bowl stopped levitating and fixed itself at the height it had been at when she'd tapped its side. "You'll want to actually levitate the bowl rather than just raising it by hand. Fixate will fix anything attached to the bowl---fingers included. Although, a simple finite will cure anything of the sort...just in case, you know."
"Follow all directions, and you shouldn't have any trouble, though," she stressed. "Now once you've got your mixing bowl and wooden spoon hovering in the air, you can cast a locomotor charm to get the spoon to moving as you need it to." To demonstrate, she pointed her wand directly at the spoon then began turning her wand in the direction she wished for the spoon to go in. "Locomotor spoon," she said, her wand still turning. The spoon began turning in the direction Lexi's wand was turning in and at the speed her wand had been turning. "Notice the spoon is following the direction and speed of my wand. You don't want the spoon to turn too slowly or...fling batter all over the room." On that note, she sort of half-glared, daring anyone to try anything of the sort on purpose. "The mixing bowl and spoon will continue like this until you just point your wand at both and use finite. Just be ready to catch them...especially if you're using the same charm to wash breakable dishes..."
"How is this charm helpful...getting a spoon to turn on its own, I mean? Why would someone want to use it?" she asked, her eyes scanning the room. "...and if there aren't any questions, you can start practice the charm now. When everyone seems to have the hang of it, we'll start the baking."
While Lexi waited for the ideas to come in and for the practicing to begin, she charmed the chalk to list the steps on the board.
Put the spoon in the mixing bowl.
Direct your wand to the bowl. Swish and flick then say "Wingardium Leviosa."
When the mixing bowl is about a foot or so in the air, tap your wand against its side and say, "Fixate."
Point your wand at the spoon, then turn your wand in the direction you want the spoon to go in and at the speed you want the spoon to go in. Then say, "Locomotor spoon."
The mixing bowl and spoon will continue to work their magic until you point your wand at both and use finite.

OOC: The cupcake recipes I linked you to are just suggestions. If you can find a different recipe online that you'd rather use, feel free to go ahead and do so. Just remember to use the charm for full credit. Just prepare/bake as you normally would and incorporate the charms when you need to stir. Also, the lesson won't start to wrap up anytime soon (to allow all timezones a change to participate), so take your time baking your cupcakes and using the charm. For full credit, it should take you more than a few posts to roleplay baking your cupcakes.
If you're trying to catch up and see what we've been doing, there are links in the first post. Have fun!
Celandine was getting nervous. Charms were definitely her THING. Wandwork in general, as most everyone would have known, but cooking? It was like potions but not. Especially where it involved muggle appliances. Like an oven? Was there ANYTHING more alarming than an oven?
Okay there probably was, but Cela was finding it hard to think of something right then.
She took the offered wooden spoon and mixing bowl, placed it in front of her on the table and just did some breathing exercises, wand grasped in hand as she peeked warily at the professor.
Okay. Those were all charms Cela could do, though she was tempted to just fling the bowl and the spoon in the air instead of levitating it. She did it all non-verbally, keeping one eye warily on the professor even as the bowl and spoon lifted, fixated and rotated under the power of Cela's magic.
It was really like substitutiary locomotion wasn't it? Though maybe doing that would be a bit too much for some of the younger students. She was busy thinking about this and barely noticed the crashing or anything else until a book landed on her desk and something about cupcakes? Gosh.
She belatedly stopped her bowl and spoon, her hand snaking out to catch the bowl, though the spoon clattered out on her table, not making as much noise as it might have since it bounced off the open pages of the cupcake book.
she tugged at her apron and the pretty ribbons, conjured an extra one and used it to tie her hair back, then raised her hand.

That didn't make separating the egg any easier though. "Umm, hmmm..." Tough choice. Either, she could learn now how to separate the egg whites from the egg and look like an idiot, or take the easy way out. "How 'bout you do the egg whites while I measure everything else out."
Yesh! Destiny was probably better at it than she was anyways. "That way we can get done faster." Because obviously, it would take her the whole class period to do 12 eggs. Eesh.
Really not wanting to be stuck with that horrible task, she moved anyways to find a measuring cup. Mwaha!
Umm hmmm..
That didn't sound like Evelyn was going to break these eggs. And she wasn't going to, crud. Destiny didn't like breaking eggs; the stuff inside would always get on her hands and make them extremely sticky.
Wait a minute!
Destiny didn't NEED to use her hands! This was Charms class, and she needed to break the eggs using MAGIC! Duh. But..there was a problem. She didn't know how to break these eggs using magic! She was used to tapping the egg on the side of the bowl; the muggle way. "Do you know how to break this eggs using magic? I think that's how we are supposed to do it."
If Evelyn didn't know, Destiny would have to ask the..Professor!

Cadence looked at Torin smiling at her and just burst out laughing. Okay, so it had been embarrassing, but it would be a really funny story later. Actually... it was already pretty funny. She stood by as Torin added the egg WHITES and waited for them to be stirred in until the batter was fluffy as the directions instructed. Once that had finished, she grabbed the bowl with her free hand and pointed her wand at the bowl, preparing herself for the weight transfer. "Finite!" she said, and the bowl fell into her hand and she quickly moved her wand hand over to catch it with both hands.

Sorry, Professor," she said quietly. Pointing her wand at the bowl, she said, "Accio Egg Shells," over and over until she was sure all the pieces of the egg shell were out of the bowl. "I... suppose I should go get another egg, then," she said in her quiet voice. Her spirit was now being smothered by her embarrassment as she ran back to the room with all the ingredients and grabbed another egg. When she returned, she handed it to Torin. "Maybe you should do the eggs, Nirot," she said with the tiniest of smiles. "I'll put in the special ingredient."
And with that, she grabbed her rainbow sprinkles and began adding them to the slowly stirring batter.
Lexi just laughed softly. It was an honest mistake to make, and she bet if she asked around...and if others were honest...she'd find that a few other people had once mistaken egg shells for egg whites. Merlin, she probably did the same thing when she was young, too. Well, not that she was old now, because she wasn't. She just wasn't a student anymore, that was all. "Meh, it's no big deal. See," she said, leaning in a little and studying the inside of the bowl. "You've already removed them all anyway..."

He saw others around him partnering off and hoped to find someone without a partner, but for now he would just get started, but there was one question that had yet to be answered.
"Excuse Me, Professor, just a quick question. With most recipes the first step is to pre-heat the oven. Will we be doing so or will we be using a charm to bake our cupcakes." He smiled at the Professor, he knew it was very important to have the oven hot by the time the batter was done, so he though it best to ask.
Lexi shook her head in reply. "For today, the only charm you definitely need to use is the one to get the spoon to moving on its own. You can just go ahead and use the preheat option on the oven," she said, nodding in the direction of the ovens in the back of the room. I know Grandma Quinlivan uses a sieve to sift her dry ingredients. I guess I would use the same thing. Sidney accios a large sieve to her. She then fixes another mixing bowl, so it floats properly in the air. Sidney levitates the sieve above the bowl and then measures and pours the dry ingredients in the sieve. How do I sift the ingredients using magic? Grandma always just shakes the sieve from side to side. I guess I could use the Locomotor charm to do that. Sidney points her wand at the sieve and says "Locomotor Sieve!" She then slowly moves her sieve from side to side. Everything is going fine until Sidney decides it's taking too long. She speeds things up with disasterous results. The sieve moves too fast and flower, cocoa powder, and everything else starts flying everywhere. "Professor, help!!"
Lexi knew, even before she heard the girl's cry for help, that something...somewhere...had gone wrong. She knew, because a few splatters of what she guessed to be cocoa powder sprayed her in the face and on her shirt.
More concerned about what was happening than she was about dusting the powder off, Lexi glanced up to see a spinning sieve---a very fast spinning sieve---tossing cocoa powder all about the place. Puffing a bit of cocoa powder out her mouth, Lexi pointed her wand at the spinning sieve and said, "Finite." Like a little frisbee, it spiraled a few times before she caught it in her hands.
"Miss Marlowe," she warned, handing the girl the sieve. "...only on the spoon for now." She brushed off the rest of the powder then glanced back up at the girl. She didn't want her to think she was angry or something. "It's alright, though. If you want to try the charm on a sieve, though, practice without any ingredients in it first." She gave the girl a little smile before turning to a different student.

"Wingardium leviosa," he swished and flicked his wand at the tablespoon, the levitate it in midair. "Fixate," he tapped it. before pouring the vanilla extract in. He held the measuring spoon in his hand and tapped it with the other, "Finite," and poured it in as it was still whisking.
Pointing them out in turn, he said, "Now you can add the cocoa mixture, and when that's blended, add the flour mixture. After that's all mixed, you can pour it into the lined cups filling approximately 3/4 of the cups," he indicated the muffin trays which he had lined with cups, "and put it in the oven for 20 minutes or so. He glanced over. Yep it was already at 350.
Smiling he asked, "You get all that?"
Nodding her head, she looked at the little bottle that contained the vanilla. Orchids were pretty flowers, so it made sense that it made such a yummy treat.
She stood beside the bowls and watched with curiosity as Santi began to add more ingredents into the bowl. Her mouth slightly began to water as she thought about how goooood their cupcakes were gonna taste when they were done. And they could add gummy worms to the treats, kinda like a dirt cupcake. Yes, this was gonna taste awesome.
Giving her head another few nods, she pointed her wand at the cocoa mixture, giving it a swish and flick. "Wingardium leviosa." Bobbing her wand, she let the cocoa bouce its way over to the bowl and carefully poured it into the bowl. The spoon still going, she watched as the cocoa mixed with the other ingredents until they were all one, humming softly. Then she levitated the flour over and into the bowl as well. Waiting until it was too mixed with the other ingredents.
Placing her hand under the bowl she pointed her wand at the bowl. "Finite," Just as the bowl made contact with her hand, she cast the levitation charm and let the bowl float over to the muffin tray. Slowly and carefully she poured the mixture into the cups at what she figured to be 3/4's of the way, though some had more mixture than others.
Placing the bowl and spoon back on the table she swished her wand at the oven door and levitated it open. "Wouldn't it be more fun if we could use magic to heat the cupcakes? Then we could watch them bake." Her eyes wondered over the cupcakes as she spoke to Santi, she knew the professor might not allow them to do such a thing, but she couldn't help her curiosity. Flicking her wand at the pan she said, "Wingardium leviosa," and levitated them into the oven before levitating the oven door closed.
"And now for the fun part," With a grin she slid the bowl infront of Santi. "Wingardium leviosa," swishing and flicking her wand she levitated the spoon infront of herself. "Now we clean our utensils!" Laughter in her voice, she began to lick to spoon clean as they waited for the cupcakes to bake. Normally she would take the bowl, but Santi was a big boy and therefore would need more to lick.

Pam walked to to the back of the room to get the ingredients and equipment for the Applesauce Muffins she was going to bake. She carried them back to her table and placed them down carefully. She was extremely nervous as she didn't want to mess up anything. She hadn't always been good at baking or cooking and now that she hard to use magic, she felt worse. She looked at the instructions given in the recipe. "Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, butter, and applesauce. " She read, but not aloud. She put the dry ingredients into the mixing bowl she had and added in eggs, butter and applesauce. She read the next step,"Mix for 2 minutes at slow speed." "Uh-oh... guess I would have to use a charm now?" She thought to herself. She swished and flicked her wand in the direction of the mixing bowl and said "Wingardium Leviosa." The mixing bowl rose as wobbly as the first time she'd tried but luckily, nothing spilled out. When the mixing bowl rose until a foot high or so, she tapped her wand at its side and said "Fixate." She couldn't really remember all the steps so she took another look at the board.
Recipe:
Quote:
• 1 cup whole wheat flour
• 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 1 cup finely chopped, peeled apple (I prefer to use Granny Smith or Jonagold apples for baking)
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
• 2 large eggs
• 1 1/2 cups applesauce
• 1/2 cup melted butter
Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, butter, and applesauce. Mix for 2 minutes at slow speed. Scrape bowl. Mix at medium speed for 1 minute. Scrape bowl, and stir in chopped apples and walnuts.
Your oven should be preheated to 350 degrees. spoon cupcake batter into cupcake pans lined with paper or foil cupcake liners. You should fill each cup approximately 1/2 to 2/3 full making sure you have the same amount of batter in each cup.
Bake your cupcakes for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the applesauce cupcakes from the pan, and cool completely on a wire rack.
Top with caramel topping or frosting and enjoy!
