Smiling again at her, he nods. Wanting to hug her again, because he could tell she was still upset at what that kid had done, he holds back and doesn't touch her. If I ever get my hands on that kid, or if he comes near her again, I swear... he thinks angrily to himself.

Being very protective of his friends, and especially one that seems to have a connection with...he is going to attempt to defend for her.

"I'd like that." he answers with that wicked smile again. "I think that would definitely be a bonus. And we'll be helping each other out."

Roland heard about the Hufflepuff and the hand incident. All of a sudden laughing at Hufflepuff losing points took a different meaning. People might accuse the Slytherin's of looking after themselves and only themselves but there was a good thing in that in a way. If you hurt one Slytherin you hurt them all. He wasn't one for violence but those who did that sort of thing weren't a worth a second thought to Roland.

Now down to three clipboards, Professor Vindictus furrowed his brow as he looked for one particular student. "Paris! I've got something for you!" he called out over the chatter of the Slytherin students.

Corwyn nodded, "I had a friend back home who's brother was much older, he wasnt around much. Do you have any other siblings?" She hoped she wasnt being nosy, she was just curious.

Looking around at the other tables, she was glad she'd been housed in Slytherin. So far the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor hourglasses were in the negative numbers... by alot.

Cor jumped as a Professor materialized at their table, nudging her friend she whispered, "Paris, I think he wants you to go over there." Turning back to the handsome professor, she smiled at him.

She wasn't paying any sort of attention to anything as she looked around the hall thinking about nothing in particular. She looked up as Corwyn nudged her. She didn't even hear her name called.


She squeaked when Professor Vindictus called her name. She jumped up quickly and made her way over to him. "Yes sir?" she said positively beaming at him. She was so excited about this quidditch season she having trouble containing herself.

"Here's your tryout clipboard," Vindictus explained as he handed it to her. He also gave her a purple book embossed in gold. "Rule book, too. Captains have to know the rules. Well, I've gotta catch the other two captains before the Headmaster gives his speech. Stop by my office when you get the chance." He waved at Paris and several of the Slytherin students before heading off to the Hufflepuff table.

She nodded and took the clipboard and the heavy rulebook. She held the book like it was the holy grail. "Yes sir I will," she called after him as he went to track down the other captains. She sat back down at her table clutching her clipboard and her book.

Mystic got so lost in thought she as no idea what her new friends where talking about. She was rather hungry now she look around the table to see what there was to eat. She noticed that there was fish, rice and stuff for tea near by. She thought to herself oh good she likes these things so she put a serving of rice and fish on her plate and made herself a cup of tea.

"Hello Lettie, I'm Natasha Lovato." Natasha said with a smile to the girl. "Thank you." She said as Lettie said the school was beautiful. "So, are you new here, then?" Nat asked curiously.

"The common room is great, it's amazingly beautiful there." Natasha said with a smile to Hayley. "And the Hogwarts grounds are amazing, too." She said brightly.

Miranda squeezed into a vacant seat at the table and reached across for the pumpkin juice.

"So thirsty I could probably drink the whole pitcher!" she laughed. "And just so glad to be back."

Hopefully she'd make some more friends this year, she'd had trouble breaking out of her shell as a firstie.

Natasha looked at the girl who sat down at the table, "hello, I'm Natasha." She said to her running her hand through her hair with a friendly smile.

Miranda smiled, shyly. "Hi! I'm Miranda. Second year. You?" She reached for a pear and took a bite.

"Nice to meet you, Miranda." Natasha said politely, not feeling very shy, for some reason. Oddly, as she had been pretty shy as a first year. Maybe it was just a firstie thing, maybe. "I'm a second year, too. Looking forward to this term?"

"Yeah...didn't get out of my shell much last. Hoping to do a bit more this year." She chewed thoughtfully. "Maybe do a little better in Arithmancy. But not holding my breath." She smiled.

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Natasha said with a grin. She totally felt less shy and wanted to meet a lot of new people. Although, she had meet a lot of people already this year. And she hoped she'd be able to see Melanie soon.

Miranda was trying really hard to edge out of her shyness. "Gonna try for Quidditch? I think I'll stick to watching...bit too clumsy for playing."

"Quidditch?" Hmm... Natasha thought about that for a moment, she did really like Quidditch, after all. But she also liked watching it. "I'm not completely sure," she said. "Maybe, but I like cheering my team on, too."

"Well, watching is always fun." She said with a smile at Miranda as she said that she'd be too clumsy for Quidditch.

Kevin limped into the great hall and took a seat at the end of the slytherin table he hoped that he would catch up with his friends soon

Wow, all this food s soooo good. If Aaron isn't fat tomorrow, then this food must be magic. Wait a minute... Aaron chuckled to himself at the bad joke. He decided to share it with Fallon. "This food is so good, it must be magic!" Aaron laughed once again at the bad joke.

Hayley had just been dishing up her plate with mashed potatoes and chicken when Kiri and another boy plopped a soggy, snotty Jude down at the table, directly across from her...they were followed by another boy in a fedora. She reached into the pocket of her robes and pulled out a little packet of tissues, "Here, Jude," she said, handing them over to the boy, "Use these." To Kiri she whispered, "What happened."

Kiri looked up as a girl sitting across from her at the other side of the table spoke to her. She was still leaning against Raiden, but now she straightened up a little, her half-finished pudding still in front of her.
She recognised the girl as the terrified-looking first year she'd met earlier before she'd stood up to check on Raiden at the Gryffindor table. What a confusing first day this must have been for her!

"Not really sure," she replied quietly. "I think Pietro here," she indicated the boy sitting on Raiden's other side, "and Jude got into a fight or something with some Gryffindors. And then this Hufflepuff came over, and I think they were annoyed by him." On that count, at least, Kiri couldn't blame them. Willie had a talent for being obnoxious. She lowered her voice further. "They're scary! When they got angry, their eyes got... purple or something. I thought they were going to hit people. But then some of the professors came over, and I think they sorted it out now. They gave out detentions, and Professor Kazimeriz - that's the old one with the cane - hexed one of the Gryffindors."

Oh my flarb! All of this...happening at JUST the opening feast! A student hexed by a professor! OH MY FLARB!
"Wait wait wait....their eyes turned purple?!" Hayley blinked in astonishment. Now, Hayley loved the color purple as much as the next person, but it would be uber scary to see someones eyes turn purple right in front of you in clear daylight(okay, so it was like, clear lamp/candle/moonlight). *sigh* Hayley began eating her food, ,finally satisfying the hunger that had been tormenting her for so long. She hoped that she wouldn't have to run into these fellows, "Well, what did these guys look like?" She wanted to be able to avoid them at all costs...

Kevin started to pile his plate with food he was starving after the long train journey and he hoped that he would see some of his friends soon or maybe meet somebody new

He was himself? Oh, yeah, great answer. Very informative. Nancy suppressed the urge to roll her eyes at Steven's obvious reluctance to tell her, or them, what was going on with that Gryffindor boy. Judging by the expression on his face it really was something serious, though, so the 14 year old decided to just drop the subject. For now, at least. She was going to ask him about it as soon as they were alone.

Raising her eyebrows slightly at Paris Nancy reached out to take a sip from her pumpkin juice, her blue eyes still resting on Steven, though, who was repeatedly glaring first at the Gryffindor table and then at the Staff table. And finally at his plate?! What was it about his plate? It certainly didn't do anything wrong now, did it? Maybe it was just the first thing his eyes fell on, though. Yes, that was probably it...

With a sigh Nancy looked up towards the Staff table impatiently waiting for the Headmaster's speech, so they could eat and finally leave the Great Hall again. It wasn't exactly pleasant sitting next to an angry Steven and the others weren't communicative either. Not with her at least. Boring...

Grace took another gulp from her pumpkin juice and tried to break off her shyness, looking around who seemed willing to talk.
