After your journey through a door to the right of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall and down a staircase there, you find yourself standing before a still life painting. Upon giving the correct password, you are allowed access to a warm, welcoming underground room, decorated in the Hufflepuff house colours. Gathered around the large fireplace are several oversized and overfilled plump sofas, which resemble fluffy clouds, and a variety of comfortable armchairs scattered around for you to rest your weary bodies in.
A long table sits in the brightest part of the room (torches are lit all day long) for the students who would rather do their homework in here than in their dormitories or the library.
Portraits of past well-known Hufflepuffs hang on one wall, among them are Cedric Diggory and Nymphadora Tonks, who died in the dark days of You-Know-Who's power, as well as the Fat Friar. Remember and honour them as you walk to or from your dormitories.
Two perfectly round, barrel top doors are positioned on opposing sides of the common room. They both open to reveal underground tunnels which will lead you to your common rooms; boys on the right, girls on the left. | |

MJ quickly rushed out from the girls common room took in a deep breath before she headed to the common room knowing that people would be awake.
She didn't want anyone to worry about her at least not this year, this year she wanted to be the one who took care of others and who fixed things, not vise-versa. She closed her eyes and started to hide her pain and smiled as she walked towards the common room.
As soon as she reached the common room she said hello to everyone who was there and as soon as she was done being polite she quickly left out the common room. Misty in her arms.
Hopefully no one noticed. she thought as she walked out of the common room. |

While Christine was talking to Diana, she heard someone mention quidditch. She turned to see who is was. There was a guy a few feet from her talking to some other students. He looked a few years older then Christine, probably 15 or 16. Christine cleared her throat to ask him a question. Um....excuse me. I don't mean to interrupt you, or jump into your conversation, but i heard you mention something about quidditch. Did you play quidditch here before? And is it true that first years can't try out?

That's how Eva was feeling when she entered the common room. Relief. Comfort. Happiness.
No more mom around, or Ellie's screams or even the arguments between Ellie and her mother. No, there were just the calmness and peace of the huffies common room. ruth be said, Eva had always been a proud huffie.
After unpacking, the girl came back to the common room, greeting everyone. She caught her hair in a ponytail and had more comfortable clothes. With Missy on her lap, she took a book from her bag and entertained herself while she was waiting.

It was just amazing to be back to the old common room, the yellowish color and everything was back. It was back and Ray was more than happy to be back at least for now. He couln't wait for class to start and most importantly all the excitement of the fifth year. Now people would see him much more mature and maybe he can show his new magical spells he learned over the course of the summer. But for now he just needed to enjoy the common room. In the end it has been a while

Trottling over towards the humans, he halted mid-step bright green eyes seeing the black furred animal possibly having a slight resemblance to how he was built. Well.. one thing was certain. It wasn't another winged monster. Not moving an inch, Tiger studied the smaller thing from where he stood. Curt beamed at Savannah as she looked down to the little black kitten. He knew she’d love her, it’s hard for her to not like an animal really. “ Yes, she is isn’t she.” He said with a small grin, watching her offer her hand to the feline.
Looking up, Curt saw Tiger approaching and wondered if this was going to be a problem. He knew the cat was very territorial, but he had to know that the tiny little kitten was no threat at all. “ Uh oh.” Curt said with a big grin to Vannah, as Tiger stood away at a distance. Naya cowered ever so slightly as the human lowered her hand, but she held her ground. She could pick up a nice feeling from this girl, and she perked up to her feel height and rubbed the side of her head against the girls handing, meowing ever so quietly. Then she looked straight ahead, her large blue eyes settling on the other cat in the room. Her little body stiffened, she appeared to be horrified. Slowly, very slowly, Naya backed up under Vannah’s legs and retreated to under the sofa, hopefully the other scary kitty (in her opinion), couldn’t see her. Quote:

She didn't fancy going outside just yet; she'd had enough of that over the holidays. For now, she'd stay curled up in the common room, with her two of her cats around her feet, and a third curled up on her lap.
Stroking Charlie softly, she leant her head back and relaxed for what felt like the first time in forever. Her shoulders untensed and she swallowed carefully.
Maybe this year wouldn't be so bad after all.

One thing was for sure, Ella was right. Vannah was sure the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws must be feeling the same way as them, or close. The Gryffindors she was sure of. She could just imagine Alexis running around their lounge spastically, while being watched by her housemates. Or maybe a cat and mouse sort of chase with Sammy and Lex, if her fellow sixth year hadn't let go of the whole fairy tale thing. Caught off guard by another possibly similar looking creature running at him, Tiger jumped high off the ground a squeak of a roar he tried uttering filling the room for a split second. Landing on his toes of all four paws, the orange furr standing up on his back, much like ones would after sticking a claw in a light socket. Savannah's expression became a cross between amused and concerned, watching her dwarf tabby carefully. "Calm down Tiger, your alright.." She said softly, trying to soothe the feline. He was alright around Rabid, and TK, and even Ariel for the most part. He clearly loved being around Nikita and Tricky, so what was the problem here? Browny was a cat too. Quote:

Savannah wasn't surprised Ema had worried a little over that, it was a normal routine thing for any first year and transfers that weren't use to their luggage disappearing on its own, or rather being placed in their rooms when no ones around. "There's a dormitory for each year, so yes you'll be with all the first year girls" Savannah grinned, answering next "It doesn't really trap the opposite gender, you'll lose your way, I think it can detect the difference or something. Anyways, it works both ways, for both tunnels" She paused, taking a second to remember where she had heard something similar having to do with dorms. Oh! Hogwarts, A History.. right? It was a history book, the title she was unsure of for the moment. "Did you see the warning sign, or did you read about that somewere?" Savannah asked, curiously. "I know the Gryffindors tower has something like that, except from what I know it works the way you just asked about; the stairs leading to the girl's rooms turn into a slide if a boy walks on it, but not visaversa for a girl stepping on the stairs leading to the boys rooms."
Savannah shook her head, "Sadly, I haven't. I haven't seen any boy housemates with the prefect badge on" and it was begining to bug her, just a little. She wanted to know who it was. "If I don't see this mystery kid by tomorrow, I'll go visit Professor Shackleton and ask her." Quote:

Naya cowered ever so slightly as the human lowered her hand, but she held her ground. She could pick up a nice feeling from this girl, and she perked up to her feel height and rubbed the side of her head against the girls handing, meowing ever so quietly. Then she looked straight ahead, her large blue eyes settling on the other cat in the room. Her little body stiffened, she appeared to be horrified. Slowly, very slowly, Naya backed up under Vannah’s legs and retreated to under the sofa, hopefully the other scary kitty (in her opinion), couldn’t see her. Savannah beamed at Naya's reaction to her, and pet her delicately, as though she'd break at the slightest wrong move. There was nothing more she loved than both magical and non-magical animals; it didn't matter what kinds, she adored them all. Even bugs, she didn't mind. She also didn't have that warm and fuzzy feeling for most, but there also wasn't any hard or disguisted feeling towards them. Except spiders, that was a whole different situation though. "Your adorable," She cooed to Naya, blinking in surprise that she was cautiously moving away now. "Aw, Tiger you scared her" Vannah almost frowned, shifting her position to get more comfortable.
"Oh, I forgot" She thought outloud, gaze turning back to meet Curt's. She supressed a laugh, "Nikolas does not have hard feelings towards you, despite Lexi trying to stirr things up" Nikolas being her eldest brother, the only one Alexis had gotten a bad reaction out of speaking of a 'wedding'.
