Penny listened to what MJ had to say. "Things occur?" she asked without realizing it was outloud. Penny covered her mouth. She did not want to butt into MJ's life. "I am so sorry. I did not mean to be nosey." she said. She thought for a second. "Have you trying like candy or what the muggles call gum?" Penny asked her. Penny gave the girl a small smile. "If you need someone to talk to, you can talk to me." she said. "Misty likes me? Well I like her. She is the cutest most sweetest panda. What boy would that be?" Penny said. Penny smiled at MJ. "Thanks." she said. Penny ran to her bag, grabbed it and went back to MJ. "Here try this or this." she said handing to MJ one of her strawberry lollipops and a pack of gum.

Kayla chuckled atTammy. "I guess I should have come and talked you first then. That way I wouldn't be in the mess I'm in right now."


"I know and I'm sorry Eva. But what I am trying to say, is that Nico was sitting awfully close to these girls and the looks on all of their faces just tells me that there was a little more than friendship going on" Kayla shrugged. "I don't think anyone can alter that."

"I'm not insinuating anything" Kayla replied. "You seem to think I had a thing for Jared when I did not" she sighed and looked back at the fire. "Look I've had other boyfriends before Nico and so it's not like I haven't got a clue or anything. I've just never had one hurt me before, it was usually me who did the hurting and it doesn't help when I actually thought that this was the one. I made a lot of sacrifices for Nico and it was all for nothing."

"Yeah Sebastian told Nico that he loved you. So yes some boys do tell their mates that they love their girlfriends, personally I don't see a problem with it" she shrugged. But Nico obviously did and it wasn't just his friends he couldn't admit it to, it was also to her. She felt like such an idiot for telling him that she loved him, he played her for a fool and for that she would never forgive him.

Kayla turned back to Eva and frowned. "Okay well the only way to settle this is to speak to Zeph and ask him about the pictures" Zeph was her friend he wouldn't do anything to deliberately hurt her...would he?

"Sorry, sorry I didn't mean Sebastian. Okay so not all boys are the scum of the earth, just the ones that wear green."

Zeph had slipped out of the common room and into the dorm to hide his Camera. When He heard Kayla mention Nico like she knew him he thought he better cover his tracks. Now he went over to Kayla and started to blush.
"Hi Kayla can I have my photos back now?" He blushed even more when he looked up and saw she was sittting in a group and all the girls were pretty because pretty girls made him nervous and he didn't have Prince with him to distract himself from the pretty girls.

Kayla turned around at the sound of Zeph's voice and at first she smiled at him but when he asked for the photos back, she gave him a guilty look. "Oh...Zeph, I'm really sorry but well Nico has them now. I confronted him about those pictures and in a fit of rage I told him that he could keep them."

Crap...she hadn't thought about that. They weren't her pictures to start with and she had no right giving them to Nico, god she hoped Zeph didn't ask her to get them back for him...that would be slightly awkward and downright dangerous on her part.

"I'm really sorry Zeph" she apologised again and then she gazed at him for a moment. "How do you know Nico?" she blurted.

Zeph felt a little bit sick when Kayla said she knew Nicholai. He didn't know that she knew him, but it was sort of his worst thoughts confirmed. And Nicholai now had the pictures. "Why would you be in a fit of rage?" Zeph asked. "I still have the negatives so its okay i guess." Zeph looked away as she apologised. "I went to school with him at durmstrang. He was not nice to me ever one time he broke my nose. And he broke my sister's heart and he is supposed to marry a girl that really loves him and he treats her horribly." Zeph answered a bit sad because he really like the girl.

"Because Nico and I were a couple...or so I thought" she responded angrily. "I confronted him about those pictures and he didn't even deny it."

Holy crap!!! This was becoming a little too bizarre even for her. So Zeph knew about Cadence, she wondered if he would say anything to Cadence about her and Nico...not that it really mattered now but she didn't want Nico to get into trouble. Oh good god Winters, even now after everything he's done and you still are trying to look out for him.

"Nico, broke your nose? Why would he do such a thing? And your sister?" well she could believe that one, he seemed to be good at breaking hearts.

Kayla watched Zeph's expression for a moment and she chewed on her lip thoughtfully. "Zeph, you didn't change those pictures at all did you? I mean to make Nicholai look bad or anything, they are legit aren't they?" she stared at him intently. She wasn't sure what answer she wanted to hear, if he said yes then she was probably going to hit him and she would lose his friendship and it would mean that she had ruined the best thing that had ever happened to her. If he said no, then her whole world was going to fall apart once more and she wasn't too sure of she could handle it again.

Zeph frowned. "Nicholai Toussaint doesn't deserve nice girls like you or like my sister." Zeph looked at the ground and then around the room and then at Kayla. "Change them how? I am not good at charms or transfiguration. I just took the photographs. Nobody needs to do anything to make him look bad all their family is bad. Dark wizards and stuff." Zeph frowned, "they are always in knocturn alley and one of his brothers is on the run from the law." It was all true. Zeph hadn't changed the photos. Nico shouldn't have been doing things that would look like that in the first place. Especially if he was supposed to be with Kayla. And he wasn't supposed to be with her he was supposed to be with Cadie but not if Zeph could help it.

Eva didn't answer. The guy who had took the photos was now talking to Kayla.
The fourteen year old huffie wad thinking. She felt horrible for telling Kayla she had cheated on Sebastian, even that it had just been said to keep Kay away from Jared.
Sebastian had told Nico that he loved her. Oh my God, what was she going to do?
Guilt was bothering her. She had to tell Sebastian, but she didn't knew how.

"girls... How do you tell someone you told another person you cheated on him?" she asked to both, Kayla and Tamzin.

She studied that guy, Zeph. She still had the opinion that he was weird.

Kayla opened her mouth and then closed it again. Zeph really didn't like Nico and his family, if course she couldn't talk. She wondered how Zeph would feel about her if he knew that her grandmother was a professional assassin and that she had been training Kayla for the past three years to become one as well. Of course Kayla, didn't want to be one but her grandmother had blackmailed her by cursing her father.

Would Zeph hold it against her that her grandmother was now serving a life sentence in Azkaban because Kayla had finally put her into the Magical Law Enforcement and that Kayla herself had spent a few months behind bars for conspiracy to murder. She decided not to make any mention about that part of the conversation but she did wonder which brother it was that was running from the law.

Kayla gave Zeph a faint smile and she gave Eva a quick sideways glance. "Maybe you should show me the negatives Zeph and then I'll know and other's for that matter..." she gave Eva a look..."that the photos have not been tampered with."

"Eva!! You haven't told Sebastian yet?" Kayla shook her head at the girl. "I think you should find a nice quiet spot and just tell him. Come right out with it" she put her hand on Eva's arm. "There should be no lies in a relationship and no secrets, if you love him you have to tell him. Isn't that right, Zeph?" Kayla looked back at Zeph with a wide eyed innocent expression.

"I can get the negatives now." Zeph said. There was one copy of them in his dorm under his bed. Zeph watched as the girls talked and blushed when Kayla asked him for his opinion. "I don't know I suppose so." He muttered. "Depends what it is I guess and also how good he is at hexing people." Zeph sort of judged most things like that.

Damn girl! Why were her friends so nice and true?!
Telling what? That I told my bestfriend I had cheated on him with his cousin? And that happens to be a lie? Of course not, Kayla!
Eva was thinking.
Her face was now a very dark red, especially when Kayla took her arm.
"I will tell him... that." she swallowed. She was in a big mess and it was her fault.

Professor Shackleton was happy to hear that the students were adjusting well to the term. Likely better than I am. Macadrian explained, "As majority of you probably know, I'm your Head of House and your first resource if you have any questions or problems with anything during the term. I want to apologize for arriving late and not introducing myself to you sooner. I had some... personal matters to attend to that kept me away. But I am here now and would like to know if any of you have questions or problems you'd like to discuss?"

Ali, who had been concentrating so hard on reading her book, suddenly looked up as she was now hearing the voice of another. It didnt sound like any of the other students' voices, it sounded like a teacher. She turned around in the chair she sat in and saw the Professor, just as she said she was their Head of House. There was a bunch of students gathering around while she asked for any questions that they had.

Ali decided not to move, and any questions she had for the professor, she would ask later.

"Being hexed should not matter Zeph" Kayla explained "Secrets never stay that way and liars are always found out. But if you loved someone then why would you want to lie to them or keep secrets from them" she turned to Zeph and looked him dead on. "I think the same goes for friends, don't you?"


Kayla watched Eva going through some inner turmoil. Not that she liked playing games with her friends but these two were keeping things from her and she wanted to know what they were. No point in asking them outright they would lie to her face, no she simply had to play the game.

"Yes I think that's a very good idea Eva. If you like I can come and give you some moral support while you tell him" she gave her an innocent smile and squeezed her hand.

"No!" Eva replied too fast and too loudly. She had never been a good liar. "N-no, I won't need any... moral support. Thanks." all she wanted was a hole on floor to hide until she was 30. That was a good idea, righT? she thought with sarcasm.

That girl and her innocent smile! Being the naive hufflepuff she was, she didn't realized of Kayla's ideas. She thought her friend just wanted to help.

Tammy smiled and brushed her brown hair back. Kayla obviously hadnt noticed the change. She looked at Eva. "I cant believe you didnt tell him yet." She said. "Jared of all people." She murmered.

Christine walked into the common room with a rush, found an empty arm chair, walked over towards it, put her bags on the floor and plopped down in the chair. Christine rested the her head on the back of her chair and starred at the ceiling. She let out a huge sigh, and mulled over what she just found out. She had not made the house quidditch team. She didn't really think she would. She was so nervous trying out with all the other Hufflepuff students who were much older and much more talented then she was. She had always been really good at sports but was so nervous that she keep messing up. Christine just continued to look at the ceiling as she felt low.

Ali watched as someone else entered the Common Room, she looked flustered, like something had upset her. 'Should i go ask what's wrong?' she asked herself. 'What if she yells at me.' Then she thought "I should go help.'

Ali left the chair she was sitting in and walked over to the other girl. "Hey, I'm Aliza. Sorry for disturbing you, but. May i ask what is wrong?"

Dominic had never intended to spend an overt amount of time in the common room, which was mainly due to the expected large number of females lurking around those parts. However, he had told Mr Myers he would meet him in there and as he liked that professor very much, the fourth year intended to stick to his word.

Almost.

Stopping by the grounds to talk with the Flying Professor seemed important, though Dominic was quite annoyed with seeing the captain there. Even though he finally learned her name was Rapunzel, which was a start. Not that he cared really. After the Professor kicked all the students from his office, which was not overly disconcerting since he was getting more frustrated with the captain by the second, the fourth year made his way back to the common room.

Except something else caught his eye which was outside the locker room, the quidditch rosters were posted. Pleasantly surprised, he had made the team. As seeker, nonetheless. Not his top choice, considering he'd rather swing a bat, but it was still comforting in a weird way.

Sighing quietly, the fourth year finally entered the room and immediately his topaz eyes flickered towards where a familiar girl, Christine, was curled up in an armchair. Pangs of guilt swept over him, as he hadn't properly talked to her since the train. Gulping, he looked away and hurried past towards a chair in the far corner of the room. No one would bother him there, right? Hopefully not anyway... as it was a nice spot to wait for Mr Myers.

Wandering along back from Vindictus' office, with her hands in her pockets, Rapunzel slipped into the Common Room. She'd been avoiding this place since tryouts were over...after all, she wasn't good with rejection and didn't want to face those poor Puffs she'd had to cut.

Sigh.

Moseying along and staring at the ground, Punz headed towards her favorite chair in the corner to hide. "Aaaah," she said with a smile, sitting down on..on....that's not a nice squishy armchair...she thought, blinking as she sat on something hard and flat.

"Er...huh...." Rapunzel glanced behind her casually, trying to see what she was sitting on, and found to her great dismay that she was sitting on someone, not something. Her green eyes widened in shock as she realized that it was Dominic Denton's LAP she'd sat on by mistake!

"EEEEEEK!" Punz lept up from the chair like she'd sat on a hot potato. "YOU!"

Lost in translation, Dominic fount himself staring blankly out the window of the common room. It wasn't that he was uninterested in the people around him. Only it was exactly that; the fourth year figured by staring out the window no one would bother him. He would become invisible.

Invisible so much that someone mistook him for not being there! Awakening suddenly from his thoughts, the hufflepuff rotated his head back towards the front to find out who or what has found its way into his LAP! Not just any someone though; it was none other than Rapunzel - the hyperactive captain!

"My lap is NOT available for sitting!" Dom exclaimed, moving his hands to push her off, but she was off his lap quicker than one could say Hufflepuff. "Yes, ME! What do you think I am? Invisible? Apparently not enough that you noticed to put ME as seeeker!" Oh yes, he was still disappointed for the no bat, but it was probably in the best of interest of other players that he didn't have one.

Pheonix smiled and sat down. 'Thanks, its nice to meet you too Miranda.' she said, dumping her exercise book, quill and ink pot down next to the book Miranda had just been reading. Quidditch Through the Ages she thoughtDad used to like taking me and Uncle Sam to Quidditch matches... There it was again, the ache on her still bruised cheek she got everytime she thought about her father, instictively, Pheonix reached up and brushed a clump of jet black hair in front of her right eye, hoping that Miranda hadn't seen the still swollen eye and bruised cheek. 'So...are you a first year too?' she asked, hoping that was a good place to start.

Rapunzel was still so shocked by her mistake that she was basically frozen in front of the kid - the last person on earth she'd wanted to see again.

"I KNOW!" she replied loudly, agreeing with him for once. "I mean, I didn't WANT to sit on your lap! You --- the chair --- my chair -- it -- I -- we -- um--- OH I'M SORRY!" She burst, throwing her hands up in the air. What else could she do? Grovel at his feet?

Actually she might, if he whipped out a book and threatened to hit her with it again.

"No no nooo," Rapunzel replied, still a bit nervous at the thought of him and books. "Of course you're not invisible. I mean, I bloody well hope not." She tittered nervously - maybe he would chuckle along. "You see, I....I..." Gulp. How do I explain this? ARRGH! Rapunzel felt like banging her head against the wall but it had to come out some time or another.

"I actually think you're quite a ferocious flier...and..." she dropped her voice dramatically and mumbled the next sentence barely at a whisper. "Well....uh....that's why I chose you as Seeker. You were the best out there, plain and simple."

Punz shrugged, still making eye contact with the carpet. Perhaps he would just take it like the compliment it was and they could get along a little better....er.....maybe?

Dominic was even more shocked when Rapunzel didn’t even run THAT far away from him. He had expected her to be halfway across the common room by now, bouncing excitedly with one of the other girls. Nope; instead she was standing before him… frozen.

And did she agree with him? Her chair? Canaries! How could he do such a dreadful thing? This was just a huge nightmare and mistake, clearly. “Your chair?” he burst out, raising an eyebrow skeptically. “I didn’t see any name on it… er, SORRY!” he apologized at once, realizing how rude that was. Clearly it was an accident, judging from her reaction. But what was expected to do? Let her sit there anyway?

Did she just say … REALLY!? Not invisible? But that was his every intent on coming to Hogwarts; he had failed his own interests already. People DID notice him, which was quite frightening. “Yes?” he asked, watching her sputter at the words.

And then she finally said it; a compliment for him. About his flying skills, in that he was the best? Oh Merlin! Was he… no… not blushing, boys didn’t blush. “I… oh … the best… ferocious…” he muttered random words, spilling out of his mouth. “Not invisible…”

Oh dear goodness!

Dom quickly looked back out the window, mainly to avoid eye contact but also in an attempt to camouflage his cheeks, which were slightly pink.
“Er… th…t-th-thank … y-y-youuu,” he finally managed to say, turning back to look at the blond. Well this was a start.

Miranda jumped up from her chair when she saw both the new seeker and her quidditch captain together in one end of the room. MY quidditch captain she snorted.
Hurrying over to them she stopped infront of them with a huge grin on her face. She turned to, Dominic she think his name was...ugh she was bad with new names. "Hey congratulations on being picked for Seeker!" she grinned "Its just..." she wasnt sure what word to use, so she stood there moving her mouth with no sound coming out, she looked around the room for some inspiration. "...awsome!" she finished.

Then she turned to her new captain and gave her a big, no a huge, yes huge hug. She wasnt that physically strong, but hugs were her favorite thing.
Stepping away from Rapunzel, she looked at her, still grinning and said "Thankyou! I was considering asking you if I could be the mascot if i hadnt made the team. You know dress up like a badger and run around the pit!" she exclaimed. Frowning and tilting her head she added "Although i would have asked for a few days off...you know those costumes are pretty warm..." she trailed off with one finger on her chin.

Shaking her head in alert, she grinned again "See ya! And thanks again!" she cheered and went to sit down again.
