Ella pulled her gold hair our of its ponytail and it waved halfway down her back. It looked very pretty, and the warm crackling fire made it get a faint glow. Her hazel eyes looked almost gold in the light of the orange flames and her pale skin got a tint of golden yellow-orange to it. Ella sighed, staring into the fire, and thought about her best friend Edward and her second-best friend Ema. Then she thought of Kairi and wiped a sparkling tear from her eye. Kairi had been her friend, and then all of a sudden she lost it. Ella didn't want to think about that anymore, so she forced her thoughts back to Edward. Ella wondered, when would they speak to each other again? And then, though she didn't intend to think this, she thought, when can we be alone together and be happy without Kairi snooping around and invading our peace? Ella shook this thought out of her cramped head and stared back into the fire, not thinking about anything except for her plans tomorrow. Maybe she would get to talk with Edward. Ella made sure that her train of thought stayed away from her least favorite subject: Kairi. It wasn't like she hated Kairi, but thinking about her was really painful. Ella sighed.

Then the thought came to her. Edward had been with Kairi first, then she had walked up and bumped Kairi aside, so to speak. Why not just have Edward stay with Kairi and Ella could get a new set of friends? After all, Ella didn't have many friends, and it was one of her goals for this year to make more new friends. But Ella loved Edward, and she could tell how much he loved her, too, by the way he smiled at her. But that smile was made for Kairi, not her. Just thinking about this made Ella start to sob silently. Her self-confidence was slowly beginning to shatter into little tiny pieces, that were all going to gang up on her and flood her brain with self-pity. That's what I need, thought Ella. I need a whole new group of friends who can accept me and not tear me apart from anyone. Her tears overflowed her hazel eyes and poured down her cheeks and she started to cry uncontrollably. Surely she must look like a fool, but she could not, would not, stop crying.

She kept hugging him and said, "yes, nerds are sexy. And you are the sexiest one that I know." She laughed and pinched his cheek. "You handsome boy, you."

Maddox chuckled and said, "Why thank you. I try." He popped the collar on his shirt and laughed. He kissed her check and remembered, "Werent you going to work with that Dom kid on some homework? I dont want to hold you on that." He grimaced at the thought of her doing homework with that twirp.

She laughed when he popped his collar. "Don't let it get to your head, please," she said, winking at him. When he mentioned doing the homework with Dom she perked up and said, "I completely forgot about that already! Thank you for reminding me." She gave him a quick kiss and then jumped up from her seat and rushed out of the room to catch up with him.

Kaitlynn walked into her new common room, she was a little nervous about transfering from another school but she hoped that she would settle into things easily. As soon as she walked into the room she stood there and took in everything about the room. After a few minutes she turned to the girls in the room and said, 'Hi, I'm Kaitlynn, I'm in my 5th year and I just transfered here from a school in the south.'

Maddox chuckled as she kissed him and dashed out. "Bye have fun. And BEHAVE!" he pointed his finger at her and gave her the stink eye. Once she was out of the common room he went abck to his studies.

Christine's thoughts were interrupted by someone saying hi to her. She looked and who could it be but Dominic. The niceness wont last Christine told herself. I'll see you later then she told him as he walked out the common room. Christine turned back to Diana who was talking to her. School is going good. My brain does not have the ability to understand anything said in potions or herbology, but other then that everything is cool

Diana laughed and said,"Oh really?But I saw you get 20 on 20 on a Muggle Studies assignment......what was that then?"She gave her a friendly punch and continued,"Yeah everything's good with me too,and I've almost settld down.Still I miss my family a bit,especially my best friend",she blushed a deep shade of red to think about her best friend.She opened her mouth to tell Christine about her best friend but closed it,thinking if she would like to hear her jabber or not,and merely looked at Christine for her reaction.

Diana raised her head,when she heard a girl introducing herself.The girl looked a lot older than her,of some 5th or 6th year.Diana said to Christine,"Excuse me a little."Then she got up and said,"Hi Kaithlynn.I'm Diana....Diana Lynton and this is Christine Proctor..."she pointed her hand towards Christine and continued,"We are First Years.Are you new here?"Diana looked at Christine for some support and smiled at Kaithlynn.

Kaitlynn smiled as a girl walked towars her. After she finished talking she said, 'Yes, I'm in my fifth year and I just transfered here from a school in the south. I came to live with my sister in London when my parents decided to go study in the Artic. They move around a lot.' She let out a sigh as she thought over all the times she had had to move in her life, she'd never been at one school for an entire year, she liked the look of this one so far though, she was hoping she got to stay.

Ella continued to sob, and at this point she really needed comfort. But so far, no one seemed to be paying any attention to her. So she cried even harder. she was starting to get a large headache. She folded her knees into her chest, and put her arms around them. Then she put her head in between her knees and rocked back and forth, wailing silently and inhaling through her runny nose.

Eva walked into her common room and lay down on the couch. She was tired but happy. She took a small mirror from her pocket and caught her hair in a ponytail.
She looked around with a smile looking for a known face.

Ella looked up at the girl who had just come in. well, at least other people were happy. Ella stared at the girl for a few seconds, envious that she probably had so many friends.... Ella soon went back into her uncomfortable position on the chair and noticed, though she didn't care, that the knees of her jeans were soaked with tears.

Kayla walked into the common room and immediately spotted Eva on the couch, she was about to make her way over to her when she saw a younger girl sitting on her own and crying. Changing direction Kayla headed over to the girl.

"Hey it can't be all that bad" she murmured quietly putting her arm around the girl and patting her on the back softly. This girl looked how Kayla felt at the moment, so she knew that it was times like these when you needed your friends.

Kaitlynn walked over to the girl on the sofa and gently placed her hand on her shoulder. Faintly she whispered, 'Whatever is bothering you, it will all work out in the end. Just wait and see.' She walked around the girl and sat down on the sofa next to her.

"Th-th-thank you," said Ella to both of the girls, her voice choked with tears. "You s-s-s-seem to b-b-be the only ones around here who actually n-n-n-notice me." Ella thought about everything that was troubling her and now it all seemed really stupid. Edward loves me, she thought, and I'm going to make the best of it. The girl sat down on the sofa next to her, and the other one patted her back. "Thanks again," she said to both of them. "What's your name? I'm Ella, Ella DeParra."

Kait sat quietly beside the girl while she introduced herself, she really hoped that she was going to be okay. 'I'm Kait,' she told the girl, 'Kaitlynn Hayman.'

"Nice to meet you," said Ella. "Really, it is. Should I call you Kait or Kaitlynn?"

'It's up to you, either one is fine with me,' she told Ella. 'What year are you in Ella?"

"I'm in Second year," said Ella. "You?"

'I'm in my 5th year, I just transfered here,' she told her. I'm kinda hungry Kait thought, I should really go get some breakfast. "I'm going to head down and get some breakfast in the great hall, do you want to come? I promise I'll try my best not to get lost on the way there.'

Ella laughed as best as she could at the moment. "Sure, I'll come," said Ella. "And, do you want me to show you the way?"

Jessica walked in the common room and saw some girls sitting together, apparently just introducing themselves to one another. One of the girls looked as if she had been crying. Jess wanted to make sure she was OK, so she went closer.

"Hey, sorry to interrupt, is everything OK? Is there anything I could help you with?" Jessica said sincerely.

"I'm fine now," said Ella. "But it's nice to meet you. I'm Ella DeParra. What's your name?

She shook her head. 'Now what fun would it be if I didn't get lost,' she giggled. She noticed another girl walking over to them, and smiled at her. 'Hi, I'm Kait, Kaitlynn Hayman, nice to meet you.'

"Right," said Ella, laughing. "My mistake."
