Nadia nodded, quite a bit amazed by Laurasia's self-dicipline. She thought of asking if she had some place to practice her spells, or lived in a wizarding area. I was difficult to learn spells at home because of the lack of places were you could perform magic without catching the attention of the Ministry of Magic. Nadia herself assisted a second magical school at home and had the wizarding community Wicked Pocus.

Instead, she kept said thoughts to herself and watched as further introductions were made and more people arrived. Again, her attention returned to Laurasia, "And by the look of it, there's more comming." She told her, nodding, and approached the newcomers after Laurasia did. "Nadia Chantalona Rey. Seventh year."

She nodded as greeting, the place getting a bit crowded to have them shook hands.

"Hi, Sarah Hillary, Hufflepuff fifth year." She introduced herself, "Nice to meet you." She smiled and nodded at Nadia and Laurasia, scanning the crowded greenhouse, her eyes being drawn to strange plants. She blinked and turned her focus back to Nadia and Laurasia.

It was not the fact that she was nervous, mind you. Alex chose just not to interact with people as much as she used to. Perhaps it was the fact that as she grew older, she found out more and more things that, well, sometimes people her age were not supossed to know. Or maybe it was her parents fighting all the time, it was tiring after a while.

When noticing the Slytherin girl talking to her, she stared. Well, obviously, she knew her name. She gave a short nod and then dived right under the table to grab her bag. Once she did, she searched through it and took out a book from where she could study from, or at least do something productive. Without taking her eyes off the book she added lightly, "Fourth year. Pleasure."

Before you knew it there was a rather large crowd of people in a somewhat small Greenhouse. And Ms. Kay defintley did not like crowds. She bit her lip and took her eyes off the page for a second, scanning the room. It was getting a bit claustrophobic in there. Tugging at Nadia's robe, she muttered, "Any clue as to when we are starting?"

Professor Virohsa had just finished selecting a couple of tasks, when she was suddenly aware of the students talking around her. "Good afternoon", she said in her usual icy voice.

"I will place a list in this wall.. which will detail what the different tasks are. I hope you can accomplish them without killing any plants or falling on top of them", she added casually. "I hope you all brought your necessary equipment such as earmuffs.. and gloves, if not then.. you can fetch them in the closet by that door", she added as she glanced at a couple of closets. "In order to get to some sections, you may have to enter different adjoining greenhouses. Make sure to not lock yourself in", she stared. "I will be walking around to make sure some of the forgetful, remember", she said coldly.

Turning her attention to the wall, she pinned two rolls.

Before Nadia could attempt to come with an answer to Alex's question, the professor hd called on them. Later, Nadia went over to read the list over and check the activities. "Well, who votes about we do this like Fordism?" she told the other plant keepers.

While moving to the pitchers, she added, "I will take care of re-flling pitchers. Another person do the grinding and then another do the pouring. What you say?"

Upon finish saying this, she took out her wand, which felt a bit slipery but nonetheless would work, and waving her wand, she produced water from its tip and filled the first pitcher. She smiled at the work. This would probably be the perfect job for her - then, she placed this filled pitcher in the chart and one was already done, on with the other...

*Mickey strolls through the green house glancing here and there. One of the flag stones in the floor seems to have writing on it. He brushes the dirt away.*

"Oh, yea. Like REALLY!"

Pacilla stood in the greenhouse, she walked around a little, fascinated by some of the plants and confused by others. When Professor Virohsa announced what they were to do, she looked around wondering who the other greenhouse caretakers were. When the list of things to do was written on the board, Pacilla checked number one. Sweep the floors.. okay, that should be no problem. But where's the broom cupboard? ah, there... She proceded towards where the sweeping brooms were kept and saw the other caretakers there.

"Umm.. hello, my name's Pacilla. Uh.. should we all start sweeping then? " she looked nervously at the others, she didn't like giving orders to other students especially if they were older than her... "I will just take a broom and start sweeping then, I guess" She says, taking a broom and stepping aside for the others to get a broom. She stood in one spot for awhile because she wasn't sure whether she was doing it right.

Moving she started at an edge and started to sweep the dead leaves, wilted flowers that had fallen off, and dry branches into piles. "Wet, ah!" Pacilla exclaimed, jumping from where there was a very small puddle of water. She giggled nervously for just a couple seconds before calming down and continuing to sweep the floors. As she was sweeping along she came across a most unusual blossom, it was red and pink and blue. (mainly red, two pink stripes, blue spots) wierd.. what plant is that from? She thought, and looked at the above plant but it didn't have the same blossoms so she just moved on with her sweeping.

Sarah read the list on wall carefully, making sure she remembered everything on it. She looked over to the brooms where Pacilla had been standing took a broom. She walked a little further and began sweeping the fallen leaves, flowers and branches into piles.
After a while the piles became too big and she took out her wand and pointed it to the ground, "Evanesco." She said quietly, making the leaves, or most of them, vanish. Putting her wand away she continued sweeping around the greenhouse.

Martha decides to complete tasks numbers five and six on the list. She looks around the room and finds all the pitchers, putting them into a pile so she can perform a cleaning spell on them. Flicking her wand in the direction of the pitchers, she says, "Scourgify!" confidently. The pitchers instantly become sparkling clean. Smiling, Martha swishes and flicks her wand toward the pitchers and says, "Wingardium Leviosa!" The pitchers instantly levitate into the air, and Martha then says, "Afficio pitchers!" and flicks her wand towards the storage cabinet. The pitchers float neatly to their places in the storage cabinet. After completing the task, she decides to save the rest until later and heads back up to the castle.

As the other people worked each on their chosen assigment, Nadia moved to find more pitchers, took one from the closer, filled it with water magically, then dragged it all full to the chart over the tables for the next person to pick it up. Since most couldn't start until this part of the job was done, Nadia had to have a fast start. Hence why at some point rather than go one by one, took various pitchers, levitated them in groups to the charts, empty, and then used the water-charm.

This was faster especially since it was much easier to carry the pitchers when they were empty and weightless. And secure. She should give herself a pat on the back.

This way, she had already filled a dozen of this pitchers with water. When she looked back at the pitchers closet, found a couple more but some of them - especially at the back - were rather dirty. With the professors' intructions in mind, she used Scourgify on them before placing it at the chart and re-filling. Maybe later she would switch duties with somebody else, someone with some more strenght... though she wasn't that good in delicate matters either.

Laurasia smiled at Nadia. "I'd be glad to help you. Let me get the stones." She quickly retrieved the red stones from the closet along with a rather large pestle & mortar for grinding it. She looked at Nadia with a slight grin. "Nothing beats hand-grown food."

She quickly ground a fair few of the stones into a large amount of the red powder. She mixed the powder into the many pitchers of water until they were all a wonderfully dark shade of ruby. "Alright then, I'll just head over & start watering the plants in sections 1 - 10. As I finish with each pitcher, I'll send it back to you Nadia. So be ready, I'd hate to accidently hit you with one of them."

She pulled out her wand & cast Wingardium Leviosa upon all of the scarlet-filled pitchers. They floated along with her as she headed to the proper sections & then each sat neatly in front of every plant in the sections. She quickly grabbed the first couple & watered the two plants there. When she was finished she pulled out her wand again, aimed it at the now empty pitchers & flicked it towards Nadia while casting Afficio. Immediately the two pitchers flew towards Nadia.

She continued doing this until all of the plants were watered & all of the empty pitchers had been returned to Nadia to be refilled.

Kay carefully read the list of chores for the plant caretakers, and noticed that Nadia and Laurasia were watering the plants in sections 1-10. Feeling a bit adventurous, she decided to help feed the biting plants. She put on her protective gear and marched towards the fridge.

"Um, does anyone want to help feed the biting plants with me?" Kay asked as she walked through the greenhouse, hoping that Nadia or another student who was listed as a plant caretaker would join her in the task.

Ooc- Just in case some of you didn't read the note about how to RP in the Greenhouse and actually get extra points:
In Herbology, the extra points are given based on your performance and role playing, not on how many times you post or how many TASKS you accomplish. The extra pts are not awarded because you posted once or twice. They are awarded because of your role-playing and interaction with other students and whatever happens on your tasks. You are not supposed to finish everything in one post. I know some of you are doing quite well, after all, its supposed to be an arena where you can interact with the other houses. I have already posted this before, but some of you apparently need reminding -- so you have been forewarned if you get no extra points.

Professor Virohsa frowned at the girl who did a very mediocre job and left. She walked towards the closet and saw that the pitchers were not that clean. "Oh dear", she sighed to herself. Taking her wand out she put a note on top of them that said:

Kay stopped walking towards the fridge when she heard the professor's voice. She turned around and walked over to her and asked "Professor Virohsa? How much meat should be fed to the biting plants?"

After placing the note, she heard her name being called. She turned around to find a Ravenclaw asking about the biting plants. Then, it suddenly occurred to her that she had failed to instruct them on feeding procedures.

"Make sure to throw in about 2 pounds.... And you are probably safer if you levitate the bag and feed them from afar, dear", she explained. "Also, don't walk near them unless you have washed your hands from the meat smell", she quickly added.

Kay listened attentively as Professor Virohsa spoke. "Yes, ma'am," she replied as the professor suggested levitating the bag. When Professor Virohsa warned her about washing her hands, Kay's eyes grew wide because she understood the danger. "Thank you for explaining the feeding procedure and for the warning, Professor Virohsa." She turned around and began to walk back towards the fridge.

Hit her with the pitchers? Only a little later Nadia would understand - she wasn't expecting Laurasia to use that one method. Just in time, she reached and caught the flying pitcher as it went towards her like an American football ball. From that lucky catch on, she was ready for the coming pitchers and caught them, promptly putting them all in trays and re-filling them.

When turning to the closet, however, she found a message handing there, seemly just put by the professor. Curiously, Nadia looked around and spotted the professor, to offer that she could clean said pitchers as she went - it would really cause her no grief. She just waited until Kay was done asking her own questions, remembering her as the one person who had asked for assistance in the feeding of carnivorous plants.

As Kay walked away, Nadia intercepted her and told her, "I will be right up with you to help you, if you still want the help. Just let me fill another dozen pitchers and I wil be with you."

Finally, she turned to the professor, "Professor, would you like me to do the cleaning of the pitchers as I re-fill them? It would be no problem, with one Scourgify charm here and there," she offered.

Professor Virohsa watched Kay walk towards the biting plants. Wondering if she should follow, she decided not to since Nadia had offered to help the Ravenclaw student. Professor Virohsa grinned. "Oh yes, that would be lovely. Thank you dear", she said feeling relief they would be cleaned and appropriately used.

Nadia nodded, much like a soldier that felt delight in taking orders, she went over and while the other students worked with the pitchers she had filled before, she took the pichers at the closet and one by one cleaned them over making sure to get rid of all dirty in them. As she finished with each pitcher, she placed them over a table nearby until close to 10 or so 'scourgified' pitchers were standing on a row.

The rest was rather easy, doing what she had done before; levitating the group with her to the charts in another table where the others could reach them, then filling them, one after the other. It did take a few minutes, but all in all, it was almost record time. AND she hadn't tripped. So it had to be a good sign.

Now clapping her hands together, both gesture she was done and to clean said hands off, Nadia walked over and joined the section where Kay was standing. She looked around, spotted the fridge and took a steak of meat, weighted it and cut the meat to make it weight what it should. Thinking quick, she summoned magically a spare tray (from the ones she had been using to place the pitchers) where she placed the meat on the right weight one over the other until making a pile.

Not wanting to breath that cold air anymore, she finally exited that room and went over where Kay was. She placed the tray on a nearby table away from the plants. "I'm ready," she let her know and cleaned her hands on spare cloth, then took her wand to start with the levitating.

Erm, well, Nadia did not even have enough time to answer her question, because the Herbology Professor had started addressing them. About time, too. She listened intently for the instructions, and after Virohsa had placed the two rolls of parchment, Alex walked over and read them. Well, she was more interested in the one about the Greenhouse Caretakers, but she also read the Plant Caretakers one too, out of curiousity.

Truth was, at first she wasn't exactly pleased with having to clean the Greenhouse, she would have prefered the plants. But when she noticed the list of duties, which included feeding biting plants, she felt rather lucky for getting the job of cleaning the Greenhouse only. Mind you, it wasn't as much that she was afraid of the biting plants, but they were not exactly pleasant to be around or to go near and try to feed them.

Now, the first thing on the list was to sweep the floors. Well, that was not difficult. Except for the fact that you had to move between the rows of plants, and, sooner or later get near the biting plants as well. With a small sigh, she got up, but stopped dead in her tracks. Where in the world were the broomsticks? She scanned the Greenhouse carefully when she noticed a door on the right side.

Slowly, she proceeded towards it and placed her hand on the doorknob. ACK. It was locked. Grabbing her wand out of her pocket, she muttered, "Alohamora!" while her wand was pointed straight at the door knob. It made an odd clicking noise and the door unlocked itself. She opened it and was ready to step inside, when she noticed that this room was crowded with biting plants. Yes, biting plants. With a small squeak, she grabbed the door and shut it. That just proved that sometimes you gotta keep your nose out. Literally.

And still, she had not found the stupid broomsticks. Noticing another door, she walked towards it. She turned the door knob. Well, at least this one was not locked. When she opened it, she found herself inside a cupboard. The broomstick cupboard. With a small sigh of relief, she grabbed a broomstick out of there and left the door opened for anyone else that was searching for broomsticks.

She quickly moved between the rows, sweeping them. Once she reached Nadia and a Ravenclaw girl that she did not recognize, she spoke. "There are also some more biting plants that you might want to feed. Over there," she replied and pointed to the closed door on the right side. She was wondering if Virohsa knew about the plants that were being kept behind the door. I mean, what was the point of keeping the locked in there?! They were the same as the other plants. Biting plants.

Lee decided he would attempt to do the whole list even if others had decided the same thing it was helpful to have things checked twice. Finding the smarter thing to do was to start with the easier tasks to get used to the environment and then begin slightly more harder tasks.

He walked over to the area where all the equipment was stored. He took the nearest watering can and filled it up with water using a nearby sink. Lee found out that one of the sections between 40 and 50 was the one with the dung smelling plants. Covering his nose he walked up and down the aisle and gave the plants a small volume of water that would suffice their needs until next their next watering.

Nadia turned to the door Alex had pointed her, seemly a common door. Out of curiosity - and because it was part of the task, no? Nadia moved forwards and opened the door to peek inside like she was checking what's on the frigde at home.

But different from the fridge at home, and I suspect most of us won't have carnivorous plants the size of trees there, the sight of vicious moving plants looming over her and unfortunally smelling the scent of meat crisped Nadia's nerves making the only possible option in her head 'close the door + run the heck out of there'.

She did the first, locked the door magically and turned to Alex, looking blank. "Maybe those trees are better in a separate room, without sunlight, and have already been fed," all said with a monotonous voice. Without further say or explanations, she turned around and returned to where Kay was.

She would feed that one room occupants only if the professor asked her, oh yes.

She watched and carefully backed away even more as Nadia got closer to the door. When Nadia actually opened the door, Alex gave a silent squeal and jumped back about two feet, but tripped over one of the tables and almost fell over. Luckily, she didn't though. This was not the time or the place to be making a fool out of herself. Mind you, it was never the time for that.

Heh. Nadia had closed the door rather quickly. Obviously, she had the same reaction that Alex had. To shut the door and get as far away from it as soon as possible. When Nadia had returned her gaze on her, she waited for it. She knew that there would be some kind of talking involved. After Nadia finished, Alex just nodded shortly and replied slowly, "Hopefully."

Eeek, the truth was, she relly did not want Nadia or any of the other students for that matter to go anywhere near that door or within 100 feet of the plants. Although, she was wondering who in their right mind would keep those plants there and feed them everyday. It's not like they needed anymore food. Soon they would not even fit in that room anymore. And as for the question as to whom would keep the plants there, that was easily answered. Virohsa, of course.

Shrugging, Alex quickly finished sweeping the floors and went back to reading the scroll of parchemnt, wondering what was next. Mopping. Hmm, that could not be too bad. She returned the broom back to the broomstick cupboard and grabbed a mop.

Moving between the rows, she tried to mop the floors as best as she could. She tried to avoid going anywhere near the stupid door, but there really was no way around it. As she got closer to it, she heard a low growl coming from behind that door. Alex backed away again and made a mental note to asked Virohsa exactly what kind of plants were being kept behind the door.

Laurasia was back at the pestle again, grinding more powder when nadia returned with the re-filled pitchers. "Thanks, Nadia. I'll just make up some more water & give the plants another dose of water to make sure that they are good & watered." She started mixing the powder into the pitchers when she noticed Nadia going over to help Kay. "At least that is getting done as well," she thought to herself.

While she was filling the pitchers she noticed that there were now about 10 more than before. Shrugging, she mixed water into them as well. She once again levitated the pitchers over to the plants in sections 1 - 10 & proceeded to water them once more.

Having noticed Lee going over to water the plants between sections 40 & 50, she decided that she should take the 10 extra pitchers over to that area in case he needed them.

She levitated the 10 pitchers & headed over to that part of the greenhouse. While walking through, she admired many of the strange plants within the different areas. Just as she was about to call out to Lee regarding the extra water pitchers, she felt something rubbing against one of her ankles. She looked down & noticed what looked like a stem wrapped around her foot. She followed the stem with her eyes as it traced back to a rather large, tree-like plant. Before she had a chance to react the stem suddenly drew itself up, dragging Laurasia into the air with it.

The 10 pitchers that she had been levitating immediately fell to the ground, followed by Laurasia'a wand, spilling there contents all over the floor. Laurasia yelled as the stem started to swing her back & forth in the air. She strained trying to catch sight of her wand on the floor so she could Accio it, but the stem was swinging her too quickly for her to focus.

Professor Virohsa was observing Kay handle some of the biting plants when she heard a scream. Leaving Kay and Nadia to their fate with the biting plants, she hurried towards the screaming. As she got near, she could hear a SWISH! made by the stems moving very quickly through the air. She found Laurasia, completely wet, lying next to empty pitchers.

Without apprehension, Professor Virohsa took out her wand and stunned the moving plant that was about to hit Laurasia... as well as the ones nearby. She quickly glanced at the other plants, which seemed dormant enough. Walking towards the girl and careful not to trip, she grabbed the wand and Laurasia's hand. "I suppose it wouldnt be utterly bad if it grabbed you. You probably scared them more than they scared you", she grinned slightly. "It would have just thrown you up in the air.. At least, those don't bite", she said very matter-of-factly. "Try to keep your wand nearby at all times, dear. You never know which plants you have to stun, lift, or immobolize"
