Setting:

2007 – It is the summer everyone is on vacation.
We're in a small village, Julie, situated between a two huge, high, Rocky Mountains range, there's only one dirt road out of town.
A small group of exploring wizards is visiting this wizard village; the villagers don't mind their company, as long as they don’t interfere in their lives.

A Short History:

The team of exploring wizards go into the mountains everyday, to search for an ancient relic that used to belong to the four founders of magic. The group consists of ten witches and wizards, all between the ages of 20-50.

Characters:

- Every single character will need a bio.
- There will be four main characters.
- If you are one of the four main characters; you cannot double.
- If you are one of the made-up's you may double-up!
-No super powers... I will allow some powers if you will share the idea with me first.

Plot:

Isolated, the group have become very close. Ray James Hufflepuff and Kelly are 'best friends', as are Charlie Storms and Bianca Riches.
The four live in one of the houses, newly built, at the edge of Julie, a French village.

One night, a village meeting is held, and as the wizards and witches have been living in the village for a couple of years, the villagers ask them to come. A man had been found, dead in his house, with no mark on him, he had not been shot, poisoned, suffocated, stabbed or hung, in fact he was perfectly healthy, apart from the fact he was dead. The muggles police force have no idea how this could have happened, they are all baffled. The witches and wizards know otherwise, they can't help the muggles, because otherwise they'd have broken the International Statute of Secrecy. They do not know who killed the wizard and his family, until one day, when high up in the mountains, fifteen Dark Wizards are found searching for the same artifact the group of wizards are looking for. Who will arrive first to discover the artifact? What can this artifact do? Who will die in this quest? And what will our heroes figure out in this journey that will change their lives for ever?

Extra: Ray is the last descendant of Helga Hufflepuff. When he was young, he was taught how to tap into the Hufflepuff magic which allows him to use very experienced magic before wiping him entirely.
Ray’s family was killed when he was ten year old by Dark wizards that dreamed of gaining the Hufflepuff magic.
Last, Ray agreed to go on this journey after his chief ordered him to do so.

Personality: Known to have a very kind persona however she forgets her kindness when she is angry. She is one of the smartest on the team and always has answers when it comes to magical items.
Extra: Kelly’s past is kind of flu, she can’t remember anything of her past, all she can remember is that she was raised by a muggle family when she was nine; before that it is all blank.
Kelly’s a graduate with full GPA and she is very well known to have answers to any question.
Last Kelly accepted the mission after she knew what she was after. She is the only person on the team that knows what they are searching for.

Personality: Conan has a very strong personality and is one of the best theorician in the world... He was one of the few people who discovered the reality about Ravenclaw secrets... He made a couple of theories about the birth of magic and he takes good pride in his work.

Katy pulled the flap of Kelly's tent back and entered, tripping a little in her Muggle hiking boots.

"Sorry," she said, straightening up. "Not used to Muggle clothes at all." She pulled absentmindedly on the sleeve of her new sweater. "You wanted to see me?"

Ray waited for Katy to answer the question, I really think you know something Katy... You changed Ray thought to himself. Ray took a look at the symbol if he could only ask his grandmother but she still refuses to say a word on the subject. He turned back his attention to Katy as she prepared to answer.

Kami stood outside the tent admiring the view. He didn't want to go inside yet, because it was too beautiful. Far away, he could see potential storm clouds, but they were they kind the could be fake. He sighed, and sat down to meditate.

Bianca looked over at Kelly's tent, so tempted to use her power to see what was going no, but she did not because it would be wrong. Instead she put more wood on the fire and began brewing another pot of tea. Sitting back down for a moment, she then thought about something, and realized she should probably keep track of what was happening. So the went inside for a self-inking quill and her new Diary. She sat down and began writing.

Katy paused, looking down apprehensively at the circle. Well forget translating that, she thought ruefully. She pursed her lips and took a breath through her whitened nostrils.

"It's a transmutation circle," she exhaled. "I figured it out last night; there was a picture in one of my books." She paused.

"It's quite ancient; much has been forgotten about it. What I can tell you is that it's very dangerous; "transmute" in lieu of "transfigure" suggests something Dark." She thought about telling them what she'd learned from her reading, and decided against it. She instead told Kelly a guess.

"The six figures around the perimeter of the circle, and the three figures inside, suggest the use of several magical forces to work, probably witches and wizards...I think it points to a sacrifice of some sort." Katy hung her head in shame. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you right away," she mumbled.

Charlie smiled as Ray asked steven to cast some parseltongue spells and tapped Ray on the shoulder "Erm, It's me who speaks Parseltongue, not Steven" and then he pulled out his wand casting spells, and sat down after he'd finished "Well.... first watch, should be good" and Charlie sat down and yawned then he conjured a drink of lemonade, why would anyone want first watch? but he sat there not complaining

Kelly was astonished by Katy's meaning of the symbol, she never heard of something that has to do with transmutation. Suddenly, Ray screamed. It's good that I casted the muffliato spell before this meeting Kelly thought as she looked at Ray. He has a point she thought to herself, I mean it is an old and forbidden type of magic maybe Conan can help her out here.
She got up and moved towards the tent's flap and pulled it, Conan was next to the tent, she looked at him and invited him in, before disappearing again inside her yellow and warm tent.

Ray watched as Kelly step outside the tent then back in behind her Kami. He seemed much younger in the cloth he was wearing and much stronger. Ray looked back at Katy, he noticed that her expression were starting to change, she wasn't afraid and tired anymore but more relaxed, it must be the weight of the secret, Ray thought.

Kelly noticed the difference between her tent's temperature and the chilling sensation outside, she quickly sat down to Katy's side.
After that Kami sat next to Ray, Kelly drew out her book again and opened it at the same page, again the picture of the four shadows circling around an amorph object appeared above it now the transmutation circle.
"Okey Conan, I have two things I want to reveal to you and I hope you can explain more about them.
First, Ray discovered another version of the myth you told us, the supplier of that version told him that after the four man each received their desired ability, magic took birth but in an evil and corapted way. It was then forbidden to use it and even to speak of this ancient and evil magic.
Second, Katy here, made a reading concerning the symbol above the picture here and discovered that it was a "transmutation circle" an ancient and evil magic.
My question for you are, Do you know anything about the other part of the myth? And do you have any information regarding the "transmutation circle"? " Kelly asked hoping that Kami would be able to at least explain some stuff to her.

Steven, who hadn't really piped up on the way there, was sat on the ground, staring lazily up at the sky. He vaguely noticed that there was a small gathering of people in the tent behind him. He reached into his jacket pocket, hoping to find a cigarette, only to remember that he had left them behind.

Bloody hell.

He yawned, and stood up, walking over to the tent, wondering if he could be any help.

"Can I come in?" he asked.

As Conan looked at the circle and listened to the legend, something seemed to click in his brain. For a moment, he had no idea why it sounded familiar. There had to be something, after all he had read a lot of history books. Then, it hit him. He opened his mouth in a perfect, round "o" and looked up.
"I think I've remembered something. I have to get something from my tent." he answered. Without waiting for a reply, he stood up, swept past Steven who was just opening the tent flap, and walked to his tent. Opening his pack, he looked around, gave up, and accioed the book he needed out of his bag. He had enlarged the bag and made it extra light, but he could never seem to find anything...
The book was titled

. It was an extremely old book that he generally held no stock in. In fact, he had only read it once because it was so terrible. Not really knowing what this quest would need, he packed all of his books just in case. Now, he was glad of his forethought. He opened the book to the table of contents and looked for the chapter on the beginnings of magic. Here it was: Anciente Magick. He read a paragraph on how the fifth man (who hadn't just died as he had originally thought) went on to create a power more evil than anything the youngest man (who had asked for the Dark Arts) could do. He tried to use it to gain revenge on his fellows, but they somehow turned it against him and were able to kill him. They then contained the power into an object and hid the object from sight.
He had already started to run back towards the tent after reading the last sentence. Getting back inside, he showed them the book, breathless.
"It says," he panted, "that the fifth man I told you about," -pant- "created a power," -pant- "more evil than the youngest man." -pant- "They managed to kill him, but transferred the power to an object. I have no idea what this object may be, though, but probably something strong, and something they had on them at the time. It really could be anything from a stone to a feather to a cloak. I, personally think it might be a cloak. My grandmother used to tell me stories of a cursed cloak, but that could be made-up. I've never heard any stories of that kind since. Have any of you heard of a cursed object?" he asked. Without waiting for a reply, he began to look at the symbol that was supposedly the transmutation circle. He had never heard of it, which was strange.
"Perhaps-" he thought out loud. "Perhaps it is directions of some sort. Perhaps it is the directions for a spell. It could be either the way to the four put the power into the object, or maybe it is the way to destroy the object. I have never seen or heard of such transmutation circle, so I'm not sure. It could be, also, directions for how to find the object. If it was made by the four, then, it is probably outdated. I'm sure it has been hidden more than once. Well, I really don't know. I would need to be able to see it better." He sat down, exhausted, and sighed.

Katy frowned slightly as she listened to Kami, her eyes widening at the mention of the cursed object. The Three of Swords....

"But there are innumerable objects that have been cursed throughout the ages! For all we know, it could be sitting at Borgin and Burkes, and we'd be chasing a fake!" The Moon, inverted....

Kelly petrified when she heard what Kami had explained a power more powerful than the dark arts and only one object to stop it or triger it. This what her boss wanted her to find a much more powerful tool for magic, or was it for someone else someone more powerful.
"Then, we know have a clear idea on what happened in the past. Magic was born but a man with envy and revenge was able to twist it. And there was a fight and the power was trapped inside an object that we don't know what it looks like. We know that this transmutation circle has to do something with all this story... But we don't know what exactly.
But I think I have an idea, when we search for treasures we usually try to find something that will point us to them, well in our case there is a million possibilties because the treasure itself isn't definitif, I mean as Katy said there is a lot of object that have been cursed and what we are searching for is probably the first thing to ever been cursed or influenced by magic. And there is a lot of legends about objects with great power. But here what really helped me detemine the issue. You see I examined the runes on the transmutation circle and also I didn't understand it all... But I understand now enough after you cleared some stuff Kami and Katy.
Here what I understood, You see the six signs on the outer most part of the circle, they each is a key to unlock something. Now look at the circle as a muggle clock, the sign that took the place of number twelve, means Life, the one in the opposite side, that took the number six on the clock, speaks of Death. Now those two signs are connected by a straight line that means that they are fully connected, meaning Life and Death, in other word sacrifice. We can notice that the symbol life is connected to two other signs, the one in the place of the number two means power, the other one I couldn't understand as for all the other signs as well... But from those three signs I can deduce that the circle needs a sacrifice of somehow.
Now lets skip all of the signs in the outer most cirlce and concentrate on the signs in the middle. They are not runes and nothing I can think of... But look at how they are all connected but what you probably missed is that they aren't connected just to explain a bond between them but also to protect the smaller inner circle... Now Im not an expert on the subject of magic and spells but I think that the middle circle works as the wand in magic, from it magic is produced..." Kelly suddenly stopped, she had understood something else. But it can't be you idiot... Can it? she thought to herself.
"Ray I need you to form two party of five for tomorrow, we are going to start looking for that object now if you can leave me I will appreciated I'm tired and I need to rest." Kelly quickly said as she headed towards her bed. Can it be? Can it? Kelly thought again as fear took over her.
She sat on her bed looking at her friends and team as they closed the flaps of her tent behind them.
But if it was, Jean must have... Jean must have... What did you hide from me Jean? What did you hide? She thought deeply sitting alone in her tent looking at the little tea cup she was drinking earlier in the morning. What was it that you discovered and didn't tell me? She tought again and the tea cup explode. She grapped her wand and muttering "reparo!" the cup was back as it was before. Kelly closed her eyes and feel on her bed, sleepy and tired, in the end what she was thinking of can be her end as it was for Jean?!

Bianca looked up as everyone exited Kelly's tent. She made Ray a cup of tea. "How did it go in there?" She asked softly, ash she handed him his cup of tea. "You look like you've been shell-shocked or something." Bianca walked around behind him and began to massage his shoulders.

Ray was astonished but what was revealed, his grandmother didn't mistake about the myth there was a dark part to the birth of magic, and what about that transmutation circle was it the weapon the fifth man had built or was it only the tool the four other stopped him with? Questions were raising in Ray's head and he needed to think.
"Steven please come with" Ray said as he got out of the tent. "I need you to choose five people... I'm putting you in charge of group B... Tomorrow morning you will go and explore with them and at night we go back here to rest... I will allow apparation from inside and outside the camp but I will submit it to the fidelius spell... I will give you and only you the location of the camp and you will choose someone from your team and reveal the secret to him so that if you were injured, they would escape... When returning to the camp you will use escort apparation... You have till tomorrow to give me a list of the people you chose... Im taking Beck and Kelly with me..." Ray ended as he moved towards Bianca.
"Hey Hun, sorry you couldn't be in the meeting... But you know how those things work" Ray said apologising and placing a little kiss on Bianca's chicks.
"No everything was fine... Im just tired.. Thanks for the message" Ray said as he felt all his pain go away.

Bianca smiled, "I am trying to chronicle the days events. I think it's a smart move to keep track of what we're doing and everything. I just wish there wasn't so much secrecy going on." She ran a hand through her hair. "What I mean is right now, I feel like an outsider because everyone else seems to know more about whatever it is that we're looking for than I do." She sighed.

"Great idea!!"
Ray smiled when Bianca mentioned that she felt left in the dark about what was happening on this expidition.
"Look Honey, I promise you, you will soon know everything... Kelly will hold a meeting tomorrow and she will explain everything... Don't worry we are doing this to protect you... I'm assigning now Aurors to guard Kami's and Katy's tent... Do you know that now they are in a very big danger if anyone finds out about what is happening? Do you?" Ray asked seriously. "But if you insist on knowing wait till tomorrow... Kelly will kill me if she figures out that I told you a thing." Ray said in an amusing tone.

"I understand that you are trying to protect us all Baby." Bianca said softly. "It's just that I've never been on a mission quite like this one before, everyone says there's danger, but I don't sense any." She sighed. "I'm not asking you to tell me what you learned in there, that can wait until the meeting or whatever. What i'm trying to say is that if I'm going to be able to detect whoever may be working against us, I need to know exactly what we're looking for."

A magic more powerful than the Dark Arts. What could it be?

Steve nodded at Ray as he told him the plan. But now, he had to choose a team of five from a group of people he barely even knew? That was going to be difficult, considering he had know idea of the strengths and weaknesses. Ah well, have to go on instinct. It had been what he did for a good few years now.

"Hmmm!! Okey Be-Be you convinced me but still I have an order and I can not disobey it, tomorrow you will know the secret and as soon as you will I guess we will be able to use your power" Ray said quietly as he stood up. "But for now I guess it is better if you go to sleep I need to take the second guarding patrol even if there isn't any danger!" He continued as he called back his team and send them to bed assigning Steven, Nicole and himself for the second shift.
Ray moved to the far end of the camp, he was now on the border of the camp, he stood outside of the protective charms and began casting the fidelius charm. After he had finished, he entered again in the field of the protective charms.
As he walked around, he started to think again about the transmutation circle. I wonder what would happen if I try to practice magic in the presence of a transmutation circle? he asked himself as he took out his wand, pointing it to the ground and drawing a similiar replica of the symbol in Kelly's book

. After he had finished, Ray flicked his wand while muttering "Lumos!" but nothing seemed to happen, There must be a trick he thought as he muttered the counter-charm.
This time, he stood in the circle and casted the same spell as before, again nothing unusual happened, the wand did exactly what it was supposed to do. Maybe it works with wandless magic he thought this time as he placed his wand in his back pocket. He pointed his index in front of him and muttered "Lumos!" again nothing out of familiar happened, the circle didn't multiply the power of his spells. Maybe I must use the family's magic this time his thoughts were. Ray concentrate and his hair glowed in the freezing night, he pointed his wand and muttered "Lumos!" This time the spell was stronger, the light emitted by Ray's wand was twice as powerful as before but the circle wasn't reason of it.
Desperate, Ray quickly erase the circle as he circled around the campus this time stopping several times to check things out with Steven or Nicole.

Be-Be got up and kissed Ray on the cheek. "I love you." She whispered as she walked past him and curled up in her camp bed. She hed onto his Sweatshirt as she slept.

Katy burrowed herself in her sleeping bag, tense and cold. Perfect, she thought. I hate it when my guesses are right.

She watched the outline of the team member guarding her and Nicole's tent. And now I need to be guarded. She remembered Kelly's pause when she was talking; it had been almost imperceptible, but Katy's sharp eyes had caught it. Looks like I'm not the only one hiding things....
