It has come to my observations that some people do in fact have many questions about RPGing. So, Here you can ask questions and get your answers. Or, if you want your RP to be moved or if you want your RP to be renamed, all of that fun stuff.

Also Here the Mods can put in Announcements regarding the RP's so you all can be informed about any changes.

First announcement:
The RP's are getting to a point where the titles are so long its annoying. There will be some changes in some of the titles due to the fact on how long they are. Please keep them short and sweet. Thank you.

You should see it in a day or two because I moderate the new topics everyday together with some other mods. If you do not see it, it means that your RP has not been approved. Refer to Common Rooms Role Playing Rules and Guidelines for more info on how we approve the topics.

Well you just make it. Once you enter an RP you just post your character info. Its a made-up character. If you want to advance RP then you must put a character profile up. Other than that just go with your imagination on your own character.

Yes, I see, and I would like it if you would just ask RP realated questions. Why don't you just PM someone thats NOT a mod. I wouldn't know where it is and these questions are sopposed to be about RP's. Thanks.

Although I see what you mean here but this is just for RPing. Only RPing. Maybe you should go into the Advanced RPing located in the "Innapropriate nonsence forum" They might let you do it there. I'm not entirely sure. This forum is only for people who just want to RP and not too chined up in Rules and plots and such.

I really can't make a rule for this. Although I know it is confusing. Its just that sometimes the person that starts the RP never returns or just doesn't know about all the characters that join their RP. That could cause a problem because the person that started the FF is the only person that can Edit the first post. most of the time RP's are wonderfully great until about a month later it fades off and the characters dissapear and the Person that started the RP moves on. I think if I put this rule in it wouldn't take place a lot and people would just disregard it and forget or just ignore it. If you really think your advanced and would rather RP in more advanced enviornment then you should try the "Innapropriate Nonsence forum - Salazar's Lair" Those are the Real Advanced RP'ers.

I dont think we would need this. Most people catch on quickly and if someone got tired of the newbies here they could always go into the advanced role playing. However, newbies aren't allowed to post in here so that will change soon.

Actually, maybe just a little tutorial in the rules might help. However, I dont think we would need this. Although there are many newbies they can catch on and since this isn't really advanced role playing they can put those sentence posts. And if they want to go into advanced role playing or salazars lair then they'll just have to read the rules.

That should be fine (though it ultimately depends on your fellow RPers), though I'd highly recommend that you notify your fellow RPers in EACH RP about your situation and to let them know that you wish to have your cousin substitute-RPing for you.

Actually, there's quite a lot on that already in the thread. You could also go and read the rules. But... let me just reiterate: come up with a basic plot and your own character and post it. If the mods approve it, people will join your RP and you can begin to play.

Not all RP's are accepted, actually. If your RP actually sounds more like an FF, breaks any forum rules, is a repeat of all the other RP's, or just has extremely bad spelling and grammar, it probably will not be approved.

Just a note for everyone: if you want to RP, JOIN one. You don't have to start one.

Guys, I'm going to tell you again, even though this has been posted many times already. One, it won't go through immediately. Two, it may not have been accepted. It happens.

There are 150+ RPs in this forum. I'm sure you can find somewhere to play or a plot that strikes your fancy. We don't mind starting new RPs, but some people start a new one everyday. I'm an avid RPer myself, and I don't have the energy to devote myself to more than 3 or 4 RPs at a time, let alone 15 to 20. We delete numerous RPs each day and move as many to the Inactive forum because people stop playing or lose interest in an RP. I think a big part of that is the sheer number of RPs some people have started/committed themselves to. Many do a good job and I'm clearly just ranting here because I keep seeing the same plots over and over again and I've lost my poor mind... *sigh* But the point is that there are many RPs already out there and there are many RPs a lot of you are already in. So... stop with the new RP a day thing, k?

I'll go and look at it, but you shouldn't have so much going on if the RP hasn't even started. If you continue to have a problem with chatting, we'll have to close it.

What I do is I regularly check the Moderation Queue if there are RPG's that needs to be validated. I try to do this everyday or every other day. If you don't see your RPG thread within a day or two, most probably I, or the other RPG mods, didn't accept it. Just be patient. And if your plot didn't go through, it only means that you didn't follow all the Guidelines for making an RPG.

The Ollivanders forum, which once housed the character informations of the many RP'ers in this forum, has been deleted since last February. The reason is that we find no good purpose in it, because members could just post their character information in the RP threads that they join in. Have you got a thread there? Sadly, I don't think we can recover it.

I don't know if you already figured out the answer to your question, but let me answer it anyway. The sorting only applies to the school. If you are a member, you can fully participate in any areas on the site other than the school RP.

I can't speak for whether or not your sequel was approved, although if its been more than a week, I believe it is safe to say that it was deleted. You can resubmit, but make sure you're submitting it as if it were a regular RP. In complete RP submissions are always deleted... that means, if it doesn't have a fully thought out plot or story starter or if it doesn't have the basis for beginning an RP, we won't put it through. Make sure you have those elements, and it should be approved.[/color]

We've actually answered this question a few times, but let me go ahead and answer it again. An RP will be approved from anywhere to a few hours to a few days. If it does NOT appear, don't just resubmit it as you did previously, because it was not approved for a specific reason. Make sure that you have put plenty of information about the plot and characters in your initial post, as well as made every effort to spell words correctly and use good grammar. I know most of us will immediately delete RPs posted in net lingo, because they are ann
