Per Ardua Ad Astra Through....adversity to the stars...

I know a lot of people are making up all these extravagant RPGs right now, you know, combining shows and movies and other themes with Harry Potter, but I really wanted to take it back to basics. I mean, we all know Harry's story, we read about it for hours on end because we can't put the book down. And we know some things about Harry's parents, but the rest is really just guess work. I know there are a few Marauder's RP's out right now but I never seem to join them on time so I decided to make my own. James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Peter Petigrew and Lily Evans all fascinate me and since we don't have any books written on them, it's really up to us to make up their story. So that's why I've made up this RP.

It's based on the relationships of James and his best friends as well as the relationship of James and Lily, after all, without James and Lily, there would be no....the boy who lived and no defeat of the great Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort. It's based on the struggles they all go through and how they work to overcome them.

I have no real prference to how we take this, but I have a few things to help the plot along. I would like them to be in sixth year, and at this point, Lily still "hates" James, or at least acts like it. Once we've got more into the RP, we can start to make decisions as to when they should start dating. But this RP isn't only focused on those two, it also is about Sirius, Lupin and Peter and even Snape. Seeing as we don't know many of the students who would have attended at that time, we will have a bunch of made ups to play those characters. You guys can basically make up any relationships, except for the one we know, James and Lily, but by all means, either of them could date other students before they start dating each other. So have fun and let's try and make this a great RP, please only ask for characters if you will be committed. Also, a huge pet peeve of mine is ONE SENTENCE POSTS, so please don't do that, try to go into some detail, have something intersting to say to move the plot along, hehe.

Remus couldn't help but show a slight smile at Sirius's comments, but he just shook his head. It was unbearable to think that Madame Pomfrey wouldn't show up because Sirius Black was around. Though he couldn't blame her. "Maybe this time you'll let Madame Pomfrey handle things Sirius?" He inquired, stepping from beside the door, going to lean his back against the wall.

Crossing his arms, he gave Sirius a stern look and turned to Ally. "Well, at least you are alright. We only came up because we wanted to see how you were and there wasn't too many people in the Common Room." He shrugged. "Anyway, I haven't seen much of Peter - or James - since the ride in. Where'd they wander off too?" He was now directing the question towards Sirius, giving him an inquistory look.

Where did everyone go? James thought as he wandered into the Common Room. Nobody seemed to be there. He had prepeared everything and thought when they would enter the common room, they could well, party. Apparently, none of his fellow seventh years were around.

"Of course. Ally." He hit himself lightly on his head and ruffled his hair. Deciding to go to the hospital wing, he pushed open the portrait hole and walked out of the common room.

But the knowledge that Lily was here with them was reassuring. Her scent would probably lure his best mate soon enough.

Knocking on Madame Pomfrey’s office door, Sloane was a bit startled when the door swung open. Before her stood a woman who didn’t appear to be a professional healer at all. Her hair was a mess and her uniform completely wrinkled.

“Uh, there is an injured student waiting to be tended to Madame.” Sloane tried hard to hide her facial expression of bewilderment but she was failing miserably.

Letting out a rather loud hiccup, Madame Pomfrey stood before the girl and for a moment wasn’t sure where she was. After a few seconds she came to the realization that she was at work; yes work.

“An injured student Miss Montague?” how she remembered the girls name was a miracle…especially given the state she was in. “Well let’s not just stand around. Come now!” She grabbed the girl by the arm and dragged her to where the inured student was.

Upon reaching the bed Madame Pomfrey whipped out her wand and tossed Sloane to one side (she didn’t know her own strength). Pointing her wand at the girl she asked, “So what seems to be the problem Miss Santos?” she looked at the girl up and down and had a hunch as to where her injury was.

Sloane was amazed that her arm was still in one piece and attached to her body. Rubbing her arm she gave Madame Pomfrey an irritated look before rolling her eyes. Sloane made a mental note to resort to home remedies rather than coming to the hospital wing for any treatment.

Ally opened her eyes and saw the nurse standing before her. Oh, she was so grateful that help finally came. She thought that she was going to die from the pain.

"Well, I fell off the train," she said. "I know my arm is broken, but I'm not sure about my ankle. It hurts," she sighed, knowing she probably sounded silly. Words were not coming out right, at the moment. "And....my head," she muttered,moaning weakly.

Lily looked towards the door as James walked in and couldn't help but flash a small smile. As quickly as it came she stopped herself and turned back to Ally who finally had the nurse to see her. She sat quietly not quite sure of the conversation, looking around at all the odd portraits on the wall, lost in her thoughts...

OOC: im also going to play Molly because its hard for Saint Oscar to talk to herself heheh.

BIC: Molly trudged up to the common room with one of her bags in tow. She had been later than everyone else returning from the feast after stopping and talking to one of her Professors. She headed through the portrait hole and looked around for some of her friends, and noticed that none of her sixth year friends were present. Well, Peter sat in a corner all by himself, but he was one that she never really conversed with. She shrugged and headed up to the sixth year girls dorm that she shared with Lily, Louisa, Sloan and Ally. She headed over to her bed and sat down, looking around the dorm, it was clear that the other girls had arrived, their belongings were now in the room, but it didn't look as though they had unpacked. Their trunks sat untouched at the foot of their beds and none of the colourful decorations that usually adorned the walls of their dorms, were present. She took off her jacket and leaned back on her pillow, pulling out one of her favourite books....

Peter sat in the corner ignoring everyone, he noticed when Molly walked in but did nothing to acknowledge her. There were very few people he pretended to like, and even fewer that he actually showed respect to. James, Remus and Lupin being those few. It wasn't really respect he showed them, he jsut longed for the power and strength they had and felt better surrounding himself with those kind of people. A few of the girls he was polite too, but only as long as they were polite in return. He shuffled down lower in his chair, not wanting anyone to come over and talk to him.

Children were definitely careless nowadays, falling off of a train…who’d ever heard of such a thing. Madame Pomfrey seemed to have forgotten about the nasty spill she had taken the previous night…and even then she simply fell off of the curb in the street.

“Oh dear…” Her voice full of frustration as she made her way over to the girls side, pushing everyone out of the way (Mr. Black in particular). “You really must be more careful young lady.” She said as she began to wrap a sling around the girls arm.

Conjuring up a bottle of Skelegrow, Madame Pomfrey poured some into a glass, “Here, drink that and drink it quick. We don’t want you spitting it out.” She fluffed the girls pillow and propped her up in the bed.

“Now let’s have a look at your leg.” Once again she pushed everyone aside as she made her way to the foot of the bed. After examining the girls ankle it was clear to see that it was not broken; it was simply sprained.

After wrapping the young girls ankle she gave her a light pat on the leg. “There all better. Now keep drinking that Skelegrow. I’m afraid you’ll have to stay the night so it would be best if your friends left.” She gave them all a glare that clearly said, GET OUT!

“Please call for me if you need anything.” A hiccup escaping her before she could turn and leave, Madame Pomfrey turned a light shade of crimson before turning and quickly walking to her office.

After the stealthy examination was over Sloane turned to her friends and gave them a curious look. “Ah, well Sirius I think Pomfrey beat us to the drinks.” she gave him a nudge with her elbow as she imitated Madame Pomfrey and her inescapable hiccups.

Questions were hovering in James' mind. He smiled back at her, but she had turned away. Ah well. At least she had smiled at him. It counted for something right? Maybe she finally started liking him. Something he had been waiting for for a long time.

Stay here for at least one day? James had hoped that Madam Pomfrey will be able to cure her in seconds. Apparently not. This also meant no party, which kinda annoyed James a lot since he had already done the preparations. But he wasn't going to party when a fellow Gryffindor would be lying in the hospital, suffering through the pain of re-growing bones. Most certainly not.

Upon hearing that Ally would be alright from a rather tipsy, but alright, Madame Pomfrey, Remus knew that it would be better if he were to go and leave her to rest. Of course, regrowing bones was no laughing matter. No partying matter either.

He stiffled a yawn and looked back and forth between James and Sirius. Then, pushing himself away from the wall where he had stood, he waved a rather silent goodbye and just as silent walked out of the Hospital Wing and back towards the Gryffindor Common Room.

With his hands deep within his pockets, he trudged his way back, hoping that maybe he could sneak off to bed without any notice.

Sirius threw James a look that clearly doubted he'd ever pull off an innocent face. His eyes lit up at the sound of one of his favourite words in the world: party. "So that's what you've been doing? Ingenious, mate, ingenious..."

He glanced between the rest of their group and Ally, rather disappointed that they'd most likely have to postpone their party or cancel it altogether. "You'd better get well soon, kiddo," he told Ally, winking at her. Spending a night in the hospital wing must be a rather scary experience, what with Pomfrey hanging about, half sober. He shuddered at the thought, before noticing Remus had already taken the nurse's advice to leave literally.

"Yo, Moony, wait up!" he shouted, then realized where he was, and tried to cancel the impropriety with an apologetic look.

Remus stopped short at the sound of Sirius's shout, turning back and waiting to see if the others were coming or not. Of course he didn't want to be rude and leave, as he just had done, but Ally would need her rest. Even if Madame Pomfrey was a little tispy, she was still more knowledgable with stuff like that then the rest of them were.

Sighing as he stood there, he realized that his chances of a quiet escape off to bed were now mere impossible. He was hoping that James wasn't already up to something, or Sirius, that would end up envolving all three (or four) of them in detention on their first day back.

Lily sat there quietly watching as the boys left. She then stood and headed over to the chair that Sirius had just left, sitting fown beside her best friend.
"So how are you really feeling?" she asked, the room oddly silent now that there were fewer people present.
She could now actually hear the fire crackling from across the room and the steady slow breathing of someone in the bed across from Ally, the curtains drew tightly around their bed.

She ran a hand back through her hair, tossing it over her shoulder as she turned to look back at Ally. She leaned back against her chair, waiting for Ally's response.

It was quite unfortunate that Ally would have to be spending the night in the hospital wing, but then again it was just one night. Madame Pomfrey’s behavior was very odd and Sloane felt as if she had been sucked into the twilight zone. It was hard to believe she was hiccupping and trying to rip people’s limbs from their sockets.

“Well at least its only one night, and I’m sure you’ll feel better in the morning.” she flashed a reassuring smile and hoped that her bedside manner was helpful in someway; although she was pretty sure it wasn’t.

Watching everyone leave, Sloane wondered if perhaps she should do the same. She didn’t want to undermine Madame Pomfrey’s authority. Seeing how Pomfrey wasn’t right in the head at the present time, Sloane felt it was best to just do as they were told.

Sloane would have stayed in the wing despite the Pomfrey factor, but she had the feeling that Lily and Ally wanted to be alone. Not wanting to deny them that and more importantly be a nuisance, she opted to just leave.

“I guess I’ll be going. Hope you feel better Ally.” She gave Lily and Ally a wave before heading out of the hospital.

As she walked down the candle lit corridor she could see Remus and Sirius up ahead. Sloane wasn’t keen on wandering the halls at night alone; she actually thought it quite frightening. So the fact that Sirius and Remus were there set her mind at ease.

“Not planning anything that involves fire, Snape in his underpants, and loss of points are you?” She questioned as she gave them both a mischievous smile. “Because if you are I want to watch.”

"I'll live," sighed Ally, trying to forget the awful taste of Skele-gro in her mouth. "I guess I should be more careful." She didn't want anyone to know this, but she was rather preoccupied with watching Sirius when the fall happened. This was another reason she was so angry at herself for falling the way she did. It was Sirius's fault for being so handsome. Ally wanted to hex the idiot.

Louisa had wandered around the school halls after dinner taking in all of the memories. Slowly, she realised she was heading for the Gryffindor common room. She climbed through and noted it was completely deserted of all her friends. Shrugging, Louisa knew that they had probably gone to visit Ally. Not wanting to overload Ally with loads of people, Louisa made her way to her dorm.

"Hey Molly. Didn't know you were up here. Aren't you visiting Ally?" Louisa asked the girl sat on the bed. She walked to her own bed and pulled a book out of her trunk which had been put there during the feast. Knocking her shoes off, Louisa climbed on her comfy bed waiting for a response from Molly.

Lilly smiled with relief.
"You really need your sleep now, try and get some rest." she said kindly, hoping her friend would feel better tomorrow.

Molly looked up as Louisa entered.
"What? What's wrong with Ally? I'm so out of the loop I don't even know what's going on. What happend to her?" she asked quickly, sitting up rigidly on her bed, looking frantic.

For obvious reasons we need to make a few changes to the plot of our RPG, so when everyone has finished reading Deathly Hallows, please let me know so that we can add in the changes and not spoil the book for anyone! Thanks guys! Happy reading! I'm starting it again for the second time!!!

Remus was relieved at the sound of James voice admitting they weren't up to anything. Yet. Bugger. "What party?" He asked obviously oblivious to the fact either of the Marauders had mentioned said thing. Making a disgruntled sound that was his sound of disapprovment, he shook his head and walked forward along the familiar path up to the Gryffindor tower.

so im not sure what to do regarding the spoiler rule, because we really do need to make changes on this rpg b/c of new things we learned in the book, and im not sure what im allowed to say and i dont want to be suspended from the sight so i will asume you have all read it, if not message me and ask if you want to no, i guess i wont say the changes but just sort of make them clear in what my character does? i dunno hopefully thats allowed,
Also, I think it would be a good idea to have Regulus in this RPG, so anyone who would like to play him, feel free. Also, maybe Lucious? It doesn't say how much older he was than Snape and the Marauders, but we could assume one year? Let me know if anyone would like to play him or any other death eaters that could have possible been at the school then, maybe Bella and Cissy too.

Lily noticed that Ally was looking very tired and that Madam Pomfrey was getting impatient.
"I'll go and let her rest." she said to the nurse.
"I'll see you tomorrow Ally." she said, standing and heading out of the hospital wing.
She turned and headed down the corridor, realising how tired she felt. After what seemed like a long walk, she reached the portrait of the fat lady and headed into the common room.

ooc: seekersgurl {any other name I can call you? xD}, I think we could sort of add a direction to where things are going, granted that we all read DH. But until the spoiler policy is lifted, we really can't make use of DH details, I reckon. Oh well, PM me if anything =)

Sloane had always enjoyed a good get together. She especially liked the parties that sometimes got out of hand. Those were definitely the best in her mind. A party wasn’t a party if someone didn’t end up hexed or hanging from a chandelier.

“Well thank you James. How thoughtful of you to include me.” She gave him a friendly wink before turning her attention to Sirius.

Smiling at Sirius she wondered if he was being…serious. Sloane was far from ready to go to bed and with the common room in sight she knew that once they entered it would be a trial to get out again without anyone seeing.

“I would love to corner Snapey and play with him, but I don’t see him anywhere. Come to think of it I haven’t seen him since the train.” Shrugging her shoulders she had a wounded expression on her face. “Well if not today there is always tomorrow.” She beamed at the thought and there seemed to be a new spring in her step.

"You know. The usual." James said. It was a fact that the Maruders threw a party on the start of every year. He was surprised that Moody even asked the question and then he watched Remus shaking his head with disapprovement and walk away. Ah well. He was the prefect.

Go to bed? James looked at the watch on his wrist. "Go to bed?" He protested. "But it's just 10:30pm! Of course we don't go to bed!" He sighed. He thought Sirius would have come up with something to do, since his plan of a party had been cancelled due to unfortunate circumstances. "Snivellus would probably be hiding in his four poster bed already or sticking his abnormally large nose in one of his books. Most likely potions." James gave a dramatic sigh. "Pity Slughorn loves Evans more than he likes him."

Not seen Snapey since the train ride? Come to think of it, he hadn't seen him either. "Hmm." James said. "Interesting. Very interesting. What could he be up to?"

"Who knows? There may not be a tomorrow, so live your life to the fullest." James repeated the lines his parents - particularly his father had told him and he was happy to say that he had been doing exactly what he had been told pretty much his entire life.
