Per Ardua Ad Astra Through....adversity to the stars...

I know a lot of people are making up all these extravagant RPGs right now, you know, combining shows and movies and other themes with Harry Potter, but I really wanted to take it back to basics. I mean, we all know Harry's story, we read about it for hours on end because we can't put the book down. And we know some things about Harry's parents, but the rest is really just guess work. I know there are a few Marauder's RP's out right now but I never seem to join them on time so I decided to make my own. James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Peter Petigrew and Lily Evans all fascinate me and since we don't have any books written on them, it's really up to us to make up their story. So that's why I've made up this RP.

It's based on the relationships of James and his best friends as well as the relationship of James and Lily, after all, without James and Lily, there would be no....the boy who lived and no defeat of the great Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort. It's based on the struggles they all go through and how they work to overcome them.

I have no real prference to how we take this, but I have a few things to help the plot along. I would like them to be in sixth year, and at this point, Lily still "hates" James, or at least acts like it. Once we've got more into the RP, we can start to make decisions as to when they should start dating. But this RP isn't only focused on those two, it also is about Sirius, Lupin and Peter and even Snape. Seeing as we don't know many of the students who would have attended at that time, we will have a bunch of made ups to play those characters. You guys can basically make up any relationships, except for the one we know, James and Lily, but by all means, either of them could date other students before they start dating each other. So have fun and let's try and make this a great RP, please only ask for characters if you will be committed. Also, a huge pet peeve of mine is ONE SENTENCE POSTS, so please don't do that, try to go into some detail, have something intersting to say to move the plot along, hehe.

Remus was nudged from his thoughtfullness as the train came to a halt. He took a deep inhale of breath and exhaled quite happily. They were home. Standing up quickly, he went to grab his things and walk out. "C'mon Peter. The others will be looking for us." He said looking back to make sure his friend would follow.

The rush of the students mazing themselves off the train was what he was used to, but he wasn't liking the being shoved of the train. And, as he found his way off without being trampled, he only had to look to his right to find Sirius and Lily standing about. A girl he knew as Alley was on the ground. She looked as though she had been the unlucky one. Louisa was there too, so he was only waiting for James and Peter. Then they could go on happiy to the carriages which would take them to Hogwarts. Which, in turn, would reward them with a happy greeting by Dumbledore and an enormous feast. His stomach gurgled slightly.

"Of course. I'll grab the trunk." Louisa said, shrinking Ally's trunk and putting it in her pocket alongside her own. She followed Sirius through the crowd, hearing Ally complain about her arm. She hurried up with Sirius.

"Hey, it'll be okay Al."

James empty stomach was grumbling and he nodded again when Sirius said they'll have to wait for the feast. He was starting to get a little annoyed.

James heard Lily's voice in the compartment and instantly put his wand away so she couldn't see. He was a little surprised by her stumbling into him. "That's ok." He said when she apologised. He wasn't sorry, there was a massive grin on his face. But he didn't say anything, instead he just watched Lily as she walked out.

James watched his friend wink at him. He grinned and walked out of the compartment. His stomach was still grumbling and the thought of the feast braught water in his mouth. He was starving and even Lily couldn't distract him from his grumbleing stomach. He stepped out of the train and the first thing he saw was Sirius - CARRYING ALLY?! What is going on? He walked up to the carriage he had carried Ally into, with Lily and Louisa in front of him, he heard Sirius suggest they come into the carriage too. He waited for the two of them to get on before he did, and choose not to say anything about Sirius carrying Ally in...yet.

"Oh, God, is the whole school behind me?" moaned Ally discontentedly. She opened and closed her eyes in sheer exhaustion.Sirius was still carrying her.
"Why are you helping me?" she asked, suspicion in her voice despite the situation at hand.

Nodding in thanks towards Louisa, who had taken care of the trunk, Sirius made sure Ally was seated as comfortable as it was possible in the given context, and motioned for the girls to follow lead.

A great surge of relief went through him as he saw James catch up with them; his presence was refreshing in a way Sirius knew he would never be able to describe.

"Where are the other two?" he asked James. "We really should be going..."

Seating himself next to Ally, Sirius arched an eyebrow at her question. Even when she was in that state, she still had to doubt his reasons for doing a well, good deed.

"If that's your way of saying 'thank you, Sirius, you saved my life', you really need to practice some more," Sirius answered, unable to keep a straight face. He knew he'd probably succeed in annoying her further, but he figured it was better to at least take her mind off her injuries - even if it was in his detriment.

Ally shot him a brief dirty look, but said, "Thank you." Her face was softer as she said those words. To show that she meant it, she even gave Sirius a small smile. Then, she closed her eyes and tried to work through the newest surge of pain.

"Thanks Louisa!" Lily said as she took care of Ally's trunk.
She hurried along ahead of Sirius and pulled the compartment door open so he could climb in more easily and not have to worry about fumbling with the latch. Lily climbed in after Louisa and left the door open for James, Remus and Peter who she noticed had joined their group.
"Come on guys, we need to get Ally up to the hospital wing." she said, her voice somewhat urgent/

Peter quickly climbed in the carriage sensing Lily's urgency. He plopped down beside Sirius, lleaving room on the bench opposite for the other two.

"I don't know. They weren't with u - " But soon he saw the other two join them and Peter was already in the carriage before him. He nodded and followed Peter in. "What happened to Ally?" He asked as he took his seat next to Lily. He was still a little confused on why Sirius was carring her in. She had two legs and she could walk. But he heard Sirius reply to Ally and realised something must have happened to her.

Slightly annoyed with the whole Severus fiasco, Sloane dragged her trunk to an empty carriage. She didn’t know why she let anything he said get to her; he was a total waste of space and energy. Sloane promised herself that she’d stay away from him this term.

Sloane had lost track of where anyone had gone and couldn’t help but notice all the commotion that seemed to be encircling a carriage up ahead. As she placed her trunk in the carriage her eyes were fixed on all the movement up ahead.

Obviously staring wasn’t going to reveal any answers, so Sloane sat in the carriage and would find out what happened once they reached the castle.

Lily gave a small smile to James as he sat down next to her,
"Ally rook a bad fall out of the compartment and had her trunk come down on top of her." Lily explained to anyone who had recently joined the,
"Sirius carried her because she kept going in and out of consciousness." .

"See? Now that wasn't too hard, was it?" Sirius joked, judging that at this rate it was better to have her angry at him than contemplating her pain. Pausing, he figured he'd complete his statement somehow. "Don't mention it." Sirius shot her one of his charming smiles. He then glanced in James' direction and was about to answer his question when Lily did instead. All he could do was grin. At least they were talking to each other. That was a good start by all accounts.

"I agree with you," Sirius replied to Lily's plea for urgency, "but where's Moony?" He looked around, at a loss for where their friend could be. He had seen him in the crowd, before taking Ally to the carriage, but now he was nowhere to be found. "Wasn't he with you?" he turned towards Peter.

Ally frowned and replied, "Not hard for who? You....maybe. Me...not so much. And don't even think about doing that 'charming smile on me." Too late, he already did. She moaned in pain again, but it eased quickly and Ally turned her attention to James and Lily. She looked at Sirius. Judging by his face, it looked like he too, had the same idea about his friend and Lily.

Ally smiled in Lily's direction and narrowed her eyes in suspicion.

Lily tossed a sharp glance at Ally and knew exactly what she was thinking. She noticed that Sirius had made a similar look and she looked away, leaning back against the seat.

Peter looked over at Sirius.
"Ya Remus was right behind me I don't know where he got to." he replied, peering out the carriage door to see if he could spot him.

Remus came silently up behind the rest. He hadn't gotten into the same carriage because he wasn't interested in talking. Feeling quite relieved he had managed to find them though, he said aloud, "I'm right here." Hoping he would not scare Peter to bad as he stood behind him. His eyes reflected that of long and deep thinking and tiredness.

All Remus wanted then was to curl up under the covers of his four-poster bed and doze off. The train ride was eventfully boring to him after he seperated from Louisa. But, unfortunately, he knew that it wasn't possible to do so, for at the moment they would reach the entrance of Hogwarts and the Great Hall and the Sorting and Welcoming and feast would begin.

Louisa climbed into the carriage, followed by Lily. It was going to be a bit of a squeeze in there with everyone, but it was a good thing. She just wanted to make sure that Ally was okay, and watch the first years get sorted. That was always the best time of the year, their faces all looked so scared.

"What charming smile?" Sirius repeated cheekily, flashing her another smile. He shook his head, as if to say she should have gotten used to him by now, and followed her glance towards Lily and James, and back at him. It was so obvious that probably Lily and James were the only ones who were still pretending the opposite. Sooner and later, they'd have to be together.

"Good, now that we're all here we can finally go," Sirius said as Remus showed up. He moved a bit closer to Ally so that the others would fit in the carriage, and wiggled his eyebrows at her.

"Man, I'm hungry," he said as the carriage traipsed away, and this time there was even a note of urgency in his tone.

After depositing her trunk at the appropriate location, Sloane made her way to the Great Hall. She was absolutely parched and was in desperate need of refreshment. The familiar sounds and smells of the hall brought a smile to her face. It was clear that she was happy to be back at Hogwarts.

Reaching the Gryffindor table she didn't even wait to sit down before pouring herself a goblet of pumpkin juice. She was very curious about all of the commotion that was surrounding the carriage. More than the allotted number of people had squeezed into the carriage so she couldn't help but wonder why? The mere thought of squished people in a Thestral drawn carriage brought a smile to her face. Who would have thought that the carriages also acted as clown cars? Amazing....

Sitting down Sloane began to fill her plate with an assortment of vegetables and fruits that were so graciously set out on the table. "Mmm...This all looks delicious."

Louisa dumped both her own and Ally's trunks in the entrance hall and waited for the others to catch up to sit in the Great Hall. She noticed Sloane sat at the Gryffindor table by herself. Glancing back at the others, Louisa headed over to the table.

"Hey Sloane. Good ride on the train?" She asked grabbing a pitcher of pumpkin juice.

"Hmmph. As if you don't want to be crushed," he teased, though his tone was unusually low. Foreseeing a less friendly reaction from her, however, he raised his arms in front of him, pacifyingly, as the carriage drew to a halt.

Sighing, he glanced up at Hogwarts. It felt weird considering that this would be their second-to-last year here. But Sirius didn't have the habit to fall in reveries too much. Turning back towards the girls, he offered his hand to help Ally down, not saying anything this time round; merely looking bemused.

Ally sighed and forced herself to sit up. Her arm and ankle were in no condition to move, but she wasn't about to complain anymore than she had to. She simply made do with one foot and handed Sirius her other arm. "Please be careful," she requested. It wasn't harsh, but gentle and a little pleading.

Sloane had just placed a very large strawberry in her mouth when Louisa approached her. With her mouth bulging she simply waved at her friend and gestured for her to take a seat.

After masticating the juicy treat Sloane was finally able to answer Louisa’s inquiry, “Yes I did Louisa.” In all honesty she hadn’t, the confrontation with Snape had been quite annoying but she didn’t let on. Her facial expression exuded happiness so her true thoughts would never be revealed.

“I was with Sirius and James for the latter part of the trip so it was pretty interesting.” Sloane reached for the strawberry bowl and offered some to Louisa, “Did you enjoy the train ride, and how was your carriage ride up to the castle?” she placed another strawberry in her mouth as she waited for Louisa’s response.

"You know I won't," Sirius replied in his usual fashion, sparing a questioning glance in James and Lily's direction. He placed a rather iron grip on Ally's hand, necessary to make sure that she was holding on to him tightly, and not using her hurt leg.

Walking in this rather lopsided way, they at last reached the Great Hall, and the shelter of the Gryffindor table. Letting her sink gently into a seat, and taking the one next to her, Sirius continued: "I know you need the Hospital Wing, but if you don't eat something, you'll have more aches the nurse will have to deal with." He smiled at Sloane and Louisa, seated closeby. "Or I will..." Sirius added quietly, glancing at the mounds of food with a type of insatiated stare.

"Oh, go ahead and eat," replied Ally rolling her eyes. She had no desire to eat right now. She lay her head on the table and closed her eyes, wincing in pain. She had to wait, but she could pull through. Although weak physically, Ally had a high mental tolerance for pain.
