Jacey caught his hand and intwined her fingers with his, "Why, are you trying to ask me out?" she said with a smile, trying to lighten the mood, "Well, I think you should just come out with it, I mean beating around the bush is no way to go about things." She said, a smile tugging at her lips again. "But I wouldn't have it any other way. I want to stay with you forever, who needs friends when I have you?" she added, half joking, but with an undertone of serious in her voice.

Harry nodded, "So were we at one point, me and Jace. Just a few days ago actually, he said, letting go of her as he opened the portrait hole and walked into the common room, just in time to hear Hermione say something about Filch and his cat. "What do you think? Should we leave them alone? Or have they had enough time together?" he asked, smiling at her.

Ron shuddered. "Hermione! You know that cat bothers me." he whined slightly, shaking his head, looking back at her he gave a small pout. "I need you to protect me." he said

Draco looked at her, meeting her eyes exactly. "I am asking you out," he said, with a slight twitch of a smile on his lips. "But, I don't think you mean what you just said about friends," he said, the smile leaving his face. "Besides, you'll get tired of me, and need to go to your friends to realize how much you'll miss and want me," he said with a grin. "Now, shall we eat? I'm sure you're starving!" he said with a grin.

Cathy smiled slightly as they walked into the Common Room. It was nice to see that something was still normal. Just then, she saw the Ron and Hermione were sitting together...and a little closer than friends would. "Harry...I think they're finally together," she said, nodding in their direction. "Maybe we should leave them alone...I don't like the sound of where this is going," she said, beginning to turn out the portrait hole again.

Hermione grinned and put her hand on his cheek. "I'll always be there to protect you Ron..." she said, smiling at him. Suddenly, she looked behind Ron and saw Harry and Cathy looking at them. She jumped back from Ron, her face red. "Harry and Cathy! Don't you know its rude to sneak up on people!!" she exclaimed, knowing her face only got redder.

Jacey shrugged, as she started to eat, "I dont think you need to worry about me getting tied of you, but I would worry about you getting tired of me." she said honeslty, taking his hand even though they were eating, "I don't want to be with my friends right now, I want to be with you." she added, feeling as if she was repeating herself. "If they can't accept you, I cant accept them."

Harry laughed as he walked up to Ron and Hermione, he was going to leave them alone, but now that they had been spotted, no point in trying to hide.
"What are you two up to?"

Ron looked at Hermione with a laugh, her face was getting so red. "Uh, we were just talking." he said, answering Harry's question.

Draco laughed. "Get tired of you? My dear, every day with you is an adventure!" he said, kissing her on the forehead. "Then we shall not even think of your friends...right now, it is just you, me, and...what's this? A bouquet of roses," he said, taking the bouquet from behind his back. He grinned as he handed them to Jacey.

Cathy grinned as she walked over. She swung herself in the seat by the couch, her legs over the arm rest. "We weren't sneaking...I would rather say we were like elephants in the corridors, wouldn't you say Harry?" she said, grinning as she continued to watch Ron and Hermione. "Come on, spill," she said, her eyes meeting Ron's.

Hermione sighed, and glanced over at Ron. "Ron...I think we should tell them, they're bound to find out anyway..." she said, with a sigh. She looked up and met the eyes of both of her friends. "Ron and I...both think that you two are together," she said, narrowing her eyes slightly as she watched them. She knew Ron had thought she was talking about themselves, but this was the only she would find out about Cathy and Harry...if they truly were a couple now.

Jacey smiled when Draco handed her a bouquet of roses. "Why wherever did these come from?" she asked, raising an eyebrow, "Dont tell me that you stole them from Tom." She abandoned her attempt at eating and moved closer to him, not caring about the food anymore. Leaning her head back against his collar bone, she bit her lip. "If I had decided not to take this dare, what would you have done?" she asked him softly.

Ron's face turned bright red as Hermione said she was going to tell Cathy and Harry. He didn't want anyone knowing yet, he wanted them to keep it their own secret for a while, it made it more exciting. "Er- Mione-" he started, but after she started talking about Harry and Cathy, he nodded fervently. "Yeah, seriously. Don't deny it either."

Harry walked around Cathy's chair and sat on the floor in front of it, "Hm. Well Cath, they caught us." he said, shaking his head, "We might as well get it out in the open." He grabbed her hand and gave it a tight squeeze, then turning to look at Hermione and Ron, he smirked, "We got lost." he said simply.

Draco grinned. "Me? Steal them from someone? I can conjure my own roses, thank you!" he said, grinning. As Jacey leaned against him, he began to stroke her hair with his free hand. "Well, if you had not accepted the dare...let's see. Well, I probably would have cursed Potter for my amusement," he said, chuckling. "Well, that would depend on which teacher was in view. But I would probably wait, in the hopes that you might change your mind...along with avoiding Pansy," he said with a laugh.

Cathy watched Ron and saw that his face was getting really red. Realizing what her friend was thinking, she decided not to say anything, and instead probe Hermione later. Cathy grinned at her two friends. "Yes, Harry and I got lost...and you know how dark the grounds get," she said with a shrug. "As for denying it...there's no point," she said, her smile fading. "Not since Jacey found out," she said numbly.

Hermione laughed. "I knew it! See, I told you Ron," she said, grinning triumphantly. "Now it will be two couples...and no more resentment...wait, what do you mean that Jacey 'foun out'?" Hermione asked, raising an eyebrow. She frowned slightly. "What happened?"

Harry looked up at Cathy, he didnt think that she was going to say anything, "Well-" He started, twiddling his thumbs, "She- er- sort of caught us- you know- kissing." he admitted, not looking at either of his friends.

Ron's eyes bugged out of the sockets as his mouth dropped open, "You what?" he asked. "How could you do that to Jace?" he asked quickly, feeling his face flush in anger. He was still in denial about Jacey's obvious feelings about Draco.

Jacey fingered the roses with the tip of her finger, leaving the faint scent of the flowers on her hand, "Mmm." she started, half smiling and half smirking, "And if I still refused? Would you have cut your loses and started dating Pansy afterall?" she asked, pressing a soft kiss on his jaw.

Cathy raised an eyebrow to Jacey. "What do you mean 'how could we do that to Jace?'" she asked him, her temper rising slightly rising. "She is in love with Draco...and believe me, I know that look," she said, glaring slightly at Ron. "And its not like we were doing it openly either..." she said, her face flushing.

Hermione put a hand on Ron's. "She does have a point Ron...she broke Harry's heart and went to Draco," she said quietly. "How did she react?" she asked quietly.

Draco smiled. "Well, I probably would avoid Pansy at all costs, seeing as she would have persued me through the most dangerous obstacles," he said, smiling although there was aslightly serious tone to his voice. "And if you had still avoided me, I might have snuck in some love potion into something," he teased, kissing her on the top of her head.

We should probably go to the next day now ^_^

Ron shook his head, he was still on Jacey's side, "It's not like she had a choice, it was a dare. She doesnt really like him? Right?" he asked.

Harry moved to sit on the arm of Cathy's chair and put his arm around her shoulder, he could tell that she was getting upset. "It's not like anyone meant for any of this to happen, but it has, and there is nothing we can do about it." he said.

Jacey closed her eyes with a soft laugh, she didnt want to admit it, but she was so tired, she was barely awake. "Draco- I think we should go inside." she mumbled, moving her head so that her cheek rested on his collar bone.

Cathy looked hard at Ron. "I've known Jacey for a long time...I don't think she's faking it," she said, her eyes filled with anger. She stood up and brushed of her cloak. "Good night," she said, not even looking at Ron as she walked past him. She went up to her bed, and quickly changed into her pajamas. Falling into bed, she had barely hit the pillow before she fell into a restless sleep.

Hermione shook her head. "Honestly Ron, can't you tell its been difficult enough?" she asked him quietly. "I'm going to head up to bed as well...see you both in the morning," she said, smiling. She walked up and saw that Cathy was already in bed. She was slightly glad, because she had remembered that Cathy wanted to probe her about Ron. She smiled, shaking her head. "What a day," she said, and soon retired.

Draco put his arm around her. "You're right..come on, before you fall asleep on your feet!" he said, standing up with her. He took out his wand, and with a tap, the blanket and basket disappeared. "Let's go in," he said quietly, and walked with her across the grounds.

Harry shook his head and followed after Cathy, but he didnt bother trying to talk to her, she wasnt much fun when she was in one of her moods. So, instead he went upstairs to the boys dorms and laid on his bed without falling asleep.

Ron snorted and walked up the stairs to the boys dorm, not bothering to say good night to harry, he fell asleep right away.

Jacey took his robes in her hand and held on, she felt like she was sleep walking all of the sudden, but she still had to make it into the common room and up to the girls dorms. "Draco. I love you." she whispered to him, wanting to make sure that he knew.

The sunlight hitting her face woke Cathy up. Groggily, she put her hands up, trying to shield the light from her eyes. She turned over with a groan, feeling like she had been hit both physically and mentally with a ton of bricks. She laid on her back, staring up at the ceiling. She heard movement on one side, and knew it was Jacey that was getting up. She decided not to say a word, knowing that JAcey would not want to...especially in the morning. Picking up her wand, Cathy conjured a cup of coffee, that would be in the living room for Jacey when she got down there.

Hermione was woken by someone moving around in their room. She was too groggy to find out who. She eventually got out of bed and saw a figure still in the bed next to her's, Cathy's. Walking over, she pulled back the curtain. "Come on Cath, its time to get up!" she exclaimed, grinning at her friend.

Cathy shook her head. "Mione, this is one of those mornings where it will be impossible to get me out without magic," she said, turning over.

Hermione frowned. "Why? You and Harry seemed fine last night," she said, sitting down next to Cathy on her bed.

Cathy shook her head, her back still to Hermione. "No, Harry and I are the happiest we can be...its just with Jacey, I don't know if she and I will be able to face each other," she said with a sigh.

"Well, you leave me no choice," Hermione said, taking out her wand. Waving it, there was suddenly a yell from Cathy.

"Let me down!!" Cathy exclaimed, now hanging from her ankle. She crossed her arms and glared at Hermione. "I'll get up..." she said, frowning.

Hermione grinned. "Your frown looks like a smile from this angle...time to get ready!" she said, releasing the spell.

Draco literally rolled out of bed and surprisingly landed on his feet. He was grinning madly...like a person in love, he thought as he dressed himself. He quickly walked down to the Common Room after he finished. He slowed as he walked through, noticing that people were staring at him and muttering behind his back. He frowned slightly and then moved on, pushing it to the back of his mind. He walked out and almost bumped into Jacey. "Jacey! Good morning!" he said, kissing her on her forehead. "I thought you weren't a morning person," he said as they walked slowly together.

Cathy and Hermione walked down to the Common Room. "I don't see the boys...think they went down without us?" Hermione asked.

"Well...based on Ron's appetite, they probably are," Cathy said with a laugh as they walked out of the Common Room. "Speaking of Ron..." Cathy said, giving Hermione the eye.

"What about him? You two were certainly going at it last night," Hermione said quickly, trying to avoid her and Ron being together.

"Don't try and change the subject...and yes, we were, but he started it!" Cahty said as they entered the Great Hall.

"Wait, I don't see the boys..." Cathy said, frowning slightly.

Hermione shook her head. "Well, they will be down here soon enough...as you said, no one can stop Ron when his stomach is first on his mind," Hermione said with a laugh. The two of them sat down and began to load food onto their plates.

"Hey guys!" Lavendar Brown came over to sit down across from them.

"Hey Lavendar, what's up?" asked Cathy, slightly surprised.

"I just have a little gossip to pass along..." Lavendar told them.

Ron moaned softly to himself as he fell into place beside Hermione, pressing a warm kiss onto her forehead, momentairly forgetting that he was supposed to be keeping it quiet, it was too early for him to be strategic. When he saw Lavander, he grimaced as visions of their fifth year fling popped into his mind.

Harry was shocked that Cathy and Hermione had not noticed him when they came into the Great Hall, so he continued to listen to their conversation quietly, hoping to hear something good.

Jacey stopped walking and took his hand with a smirk, "Trust me, I'm not, but I couldnt wait any longer to do this." she said, pressing into him as she stood on her tip toes to reach his lips. She kissed him hard, not caing who was watching, she wouldnt have cared if Professor Snape had been watching, all she could think of was how long she had been away from him, and how much it had hurt.

TJ walked out of the common room and saw Jacey and Draco snogging openly in the hall, "Ugh. Get a room will you?" he asked, disgusted as he pushed past them, shoving Jacey as he walked off.

Cathy saw Harry sit down next to her, and gave his side a poke as she listened to Lavendar.

Hermione smiled at Ron, and blushed slightly as he kissed her. Luckily, everyone was paying attention to Lavendar, so no one noticed.

Lavendar continued. "Apparently...and I've heard that this came from Draco Malfoy himself...and you know what a couple Jacey and Draco have been lately-"

"Get on with it," Cathy demanded, slightly irritated. She was not the best morning person either and the mentioning of Jacey had been like pouring salt in an open wound.

Lavendar was not phased. "Well, Jacey had never really loved Harry when they were going out...and it is rumoured that she was dating him just because he's famous!" she muttered, having not seen Harry or Ron come over.

"WHAT?" Cathy and Hermione gasped. They didn't say a word and Lavendar was gone before they could inquire further.

Draco wrapped his arms around Jacey, knowing the same feeling had been coursing through him since he had woken up. Draco and Jacey were broken apart by TJ's rude insert. "Maybe you and your temper should get a room...you've been spending a lot of time with it lately," Draco shot back, glaring down the hall at his former friend. "Well, breakfast?" he asked, smiling at Jacey. "We could probably just grab something and then leave," he said with a shrug.

Jacey rubbed her sure bruised arm and glared at TJ as he walked down the hall, she wanted to cry, it hadnt exactly been the best 24 hours for her. "Would you believe me if I told you that today is the best and worst day ever?" she asked Draco, not looking away from TJ's receeding back. A group of Slytherins exited the common room at the same time, each of them tossing her nasty glares and whispering as they hurried away. At Draco's mention of breakfast, she wrinkled her nose, "You know I dont eat it." she said, taking his hand, "But lets go see what they have."

TJ smirked to himself as he sat at the Slytherin table, the plan had worked perfectly, and in a matter of seconds, Davidson would hear the rumor that Draco had supposedly started, it was all too much. He felt like a little kid in a candy store with a thousand sickles to spend. He was too excited to eat, so he started to poke at his eggs until Pansy came in.

Ron dropped his toast, suddenly losing his appetite. "Nothing good ever comes out of that girls mouth." he said, shocked as his eyes quickly fluttered over to Harry. "Mate, I'm sure that its not true."

Harry didnt reply, his jaw was clenched so hard that he was shaking with the effort. How could Jacey have said that? She knew that he loved her, he always had and always will, and she was only dating him because he was Harry Potter, the famous boy who had lived. It disgusted him, and he hated it. Hated it all. The fame, the stories, the rumors.Most of the time they were out of his reach, but this one, this one he could do something about, this one he could stop. Tearing away from the table, he started pacing back and forth, waiting for Jacey, or Malfoy, whoever came first so that he could rip their heads off.

Draco nodded. "I'm starting to get the same feeling... you being the best part, of course," he said with a grin. They walked slowly along the halls. Draco found it strange that people kept whispering as they passed. He frowned, not sure if he wanted to know the origin of those whispers. "Is there a sign on my back, because something doesn't feel right," he said with a frown.

Cathy and Hermione were still in shock. When Cathy saw Harry get out of his seat, she turned to make sure he wouldn't do anything. "Harry, calm down...Jacey would never have said that," she said, glancing at Hermione for the last part. She had known Jacey, they had been best friends...but nowadays that Jacey seemed to be slipping away.

Hermione bit her lip, and it was only when she head the voices of her friends that she realized how hard she had been biting it. "Harry, Jacey never thought that while you were dating. You've known her as long as we have... just like Cathy said, she never would have said that...never would have thought that!" Hermione said, watching Harry with fear-filled eyes. It was never a good thing when Harry got into one of these moods.

Pansy sat up in bed and stretched like a satisfied cat. This was going to be a good day...destroying the lives of so many people always got her in a good mood. "He will come crawling back," she said quietly with an evil snicker. She quickly dressed and then went to meet TJ in the Great Hall. She soon found him a took a seat. Noticing his disturbed plate, she shook her head. "Eat something...otherwise Draco will notice something," she said, narrowing her eyes slightly. She glanced over at the Gryffindor table. Lavendar was leaving and all four of their least favorite people were white faced. "Looks like a storm's coming," she said as she took a bite of her sausage.

TJ smirked, "Nice of you to join me." he said with a chuckle, he tossed a fork full of eggs into his mouth and turned to look at Harry who was pacing. "Something got your wand in a knot Potter?" he asked.

Ron remained silent, watching the scene unfold before his eyes, he had a feeling somethng bad was going to happen, it was only a matter of time.

Jacey smiled, "No sign I promise." she said, taking his had as she walked into the Great Hall.

When Harry saw Jacey and Draco walk into the Great Hall, he flipped, they were holding hands, why not just get married? He ignored his friends and stormed over to them, blocking Jacey against the wall. "What exactly is your problem? Have you lost you mind?" he shouted, not caring if anyone was watching.

Cathy turned to Hermione and Ron. "We have to go, now," she said, and began to run towards where Harry was.

Draco glared at Harry. "What is your problem Potter, so desperate to get her back that you'll physically rip her away?" he asked, eyes cold.

Pansy blocked Cathy's way, a smug grin on her face. "What's the rush Griffy? Your friends can't defend themselves from each other?" she asked, blocking her way.

Hermione took off after Cathy, and almost ran into her as she stopped suddenly. "What- get out of the way!" Hermione demanded, both fear and anger filling her eyes.

"Aww, what is little mudblood Granger going to do about it?" Pansy asked, malice in her face. She began to laugh but was cut off by two wands sticking into her jaw.

"Get out of the way, now," Cathy said, her eyes narrow and all traces of the usual laughter gone. "I will not hesitate to blow your head off of your puny body," she said, and then ducked around her, followed by Hermione. "Harry, get off," she said, grabbing his arm and tryin to pull him away from Jacey.

"Tell her Mafloy! Tell her the rumors you have been spreading about your little girlfriend about how she never loved me, and the only reason she was dating me was because I am famous." he shouted, pushing away Cathy's arm. He let go of Jacey and rounded on Malfoy "You never cared about her, all you wanted was to prove your point. Well congratulations. It worked."

Jacey couldnt believe her ears, Draco had been spreading rumors about the secrets she had told him, in confidence, trusting that he would not tell a soul? She felt tears blur her eyes as she pulled away from the crowd. walking aimlessly into the hall, holding her arm, which she was sure was bleeding.

TJ walked up behind Pansy, smirking, "It worked. It was beautiful!" he said, practicly giddy.

Pansy grinned. "Quick, go back to the table before anyone notices..." she said, and slipped back into her seat. "Absolutely beautiful," she said under her breath as she watched the spectacle.

Draco glared at Harry. "How dare you make such accusations! I have been spreading no rumour or lies about you Potter...why would I have means to? Jacey is willingly with me, and has left you behind. You have turned and abandoned her...for her best friend! A low blow...one that a Slytherin would have thought of I'm sure," he said, eyes cold as he yelled back at Harry. "And I care deeply about her...more than you do apparently, since you keep in injuring her," he said, eyes narrowing.

"Harry, this isn't worth it!" Hermione persisted, having seen Cathy get shoved off. "Don't do anymore damage than has already been done," she whispered in his ear. She looked around for Jacey, but could not see her.

Cathy staggered back, haveing been practically shoved away by Harry. She wanted to jump back in but she knew that would do no good. This was a boys' arguement and she had no part in it. She saw movement and looked over in time to see Jacey slip out of the Great Hall. "Jace!" she called, and ran out of the door as well.

Jacey heard her name being called, but she didnt stop walking, she had a slight sense of dejavu. It was much like when she had walked in on Cathy and Harry kissing. "Leave me alone Cathy." she said, "I dont want you or Draco or Harry, I am taking myself and my injured arm to the hospital. Second time this week." she said bitterly, pushing open the doors of the hospital with her good arm.

Harry glared right back at Draco. "Cathy was a mistake." he said loudly, immedialtly regretting it, because it wasnt at all true. "Jacey trusted you Malfoy, and you blew it." he said backing away, "You and your moronic friends. I dont care if she is the queen of Dares, you lost your chance with her." He turned on his heel and shuffled out of the room, leaving Hermione and Ron behind.
