Chris watched as Lena nodded and gulped slightly. What was he supposed to tell her? He had never had anything like this happen before. But he was thankful she removed her hands from over her face and told him what happened. "Lena I am sorry that you where there during this." He started still trying to find words. "I'm sure it was horrifying." He said as she rested her head on his arm. He noticed she wasn't cry but her cheek was still slightly wet. Chris then took his thumb and stroked her cheek."Let's head back to your house alright?" He said as he stopped stroking her cheek.

Helena took a few deep breaths and, slowly, her eyes resumed their normal shape, her breath more even. She managed a small smile up at Chris as he stopped stroking her cheek and nodded slightly. Yeah, of course. She sat back up, wiping the remnants of her tears away before sighing slightly and leaning back against the seat, closing her light purple eyes. I'm sorry.

Chris watched as Lena smiled towards him though small it was still a smile. He smiled back. He nodded as he let go of Lena and put his hand back on the steering wheel. He pulled back onto the road shutting off the turn signal thingys. And once again started back to Lena's house though they weren't that far away now. "There's nothing to be sorry about." He told her.

Helena sighed and leaned her head against the door, watching everything go by without paying much attention to it. Yes there is - I shouldn't have even mentioned it.... I just.... I haven't spoken to anyone since then. She shook her head and became silent once more, though she seemed to be past the tears now.

"Lena really it's fine. It's alright you mentioned it I'd rather this happen then you go through a mental break or something." Chris said trying to lighten up the mood a little bit. He then saw them drive through the town yet again. He looked at Lena through the corner of his eye. He felt bad that for her. He wish he could do something but he knew he couldn't.

Helena nodded silently, feeling more and more like a jerk for bringing it up every second that she thought about it. Finally, she looked up mercifully as they approached her house once more. What she needed now was a nice, strong cup of tea. She smiled slightly at the thought.

Chris pulled up to Lena's house and stopped the car. He turned the car off and took the keys out. He looked at Lena and she didn't seem alright. "Lena really it was no big deal. I would have thought you were weird if you didn't cry. That was something that would probably make anybody freak out and cry. I'm sure it was really really scary. And it was alright that you brought it up. It's not good to keep stuff like that to yourself." He said still looking at her.

Helena smiled very slightly at his words and nodded, knowing he was right. Finally, she looked back over at him. You're right -- thanks. Do you want to come in for a cup of tea? she asked, her smile widening ever-so-slightly. She was lucky to have a best friend like Chris. She didn't know what she would've done without him.

Chris nodded when Lena asked if he wanted to come in for tea. Why not wasn't like he had anywhere to go. "Sure." He said undid his seat belt and opened up his door. He waited for Lena to come out and played with keys spinning them on his finger.

Helena smiled before unbuckling her seatbelt and getting out of her car once more, for the first time on the passenger side. She shut the yellow door with a snap before walking around the car to where Chris was standing. She stood in front of him with a smile. You mind if I take my keys back? she asked, a grin tugging at her lips.

Chris laughed when Lena asked for the keys back. "I don't know. I really do like this car." He said teasing her. "Here." He said as he handed her the keys to the car. "You do have a nice car there." He commented and smiled. Alright this was good maybe he could do something after all. He could make her forget the whole thing for awhile and have a good time. Okay that was his mission from now until he leaves make Lena forget what happened while he's there.

Helena grinned; oh, if only Chris knew.... She smiled as she took her keys back and headed up to the door to unlock it. After a moment, she pushed it open, hung the keys up on the hook and flicked on the light. The smell of pot roast had filled the house in their absence and just the thought made Lena smile. She headed into the kitchen to put some water on for tea. So how has your family been? she asked as she walked.

Chris followed Lena into the house and into the kitchen. He heard her ask about his family and shrugged. "Hmm pretty good." He said nodding. Then he leaned on the counter and put his hands into his pockets. "Nick is trying to get me to spend almost all my time with him. Which isn't so bad. He keeps saying how much he will miss me and I'm a sucker." He said. "Mum and dad are good. Dad goes to work mum stays home with us. Nothing new there." He told her.

That's good, Helena said with a small smile as she filled up the teapot with water and put it on the stove. She chuckled when he said he was a sucker to spend time with Nick as she went over and got out two tea bags and some sugar and milk, not remembering exactly how he took his tea. And how's Mel doing? she asked as she poured the water over the tea bags before turning to Chris and handing him one with a smile.

Chris smiled when Lena handed him a cup. "Thank you Crawley." He said taking the cup into his hands. He then heard her ask about Melinda. Gulp. Ahhh yeah this wasn't awkward to talk about at all. "Umm well." He started as his index finger traced the top of the cup."she's good." He finished. Though leaving out about him and Lena just being friends.

Not a problem, Kaplan, Helena said with a small smile. She added two spoons of sugar to her own cup before taking a sip, listening to his answer about Melinda. Drat. Why did she have to bring it up? Her eyebrows raised slightly at his short answer, whereas the one about his family had been much more detailed, but she was still smiling behind her cup. She set it down as she said, That's good. Give her my best when you speak to her again. Her smile widened slightly as she leaned back against the sink; for some reason, she didn't feel at all like she was faking anything today - being completely real with everything; including not minding bringing up Mel.

Chris watched as she raised her eyebrow at his short answer. Riiiight maybe it should have been longer but he still remember what Mel had said at Christmas they were 'enemies' which he didn't know if Lena felt the same way. He still didn't think they had to be enemies. But hey it wasn't his fault girls just love him. Him and his boyish charm He took a sip of the cup of tea and nodded. "I will make sure to do that." He said to her. Though he didn't know when he would talk to Melinda probably not to Christmas. Sighhh that seemed like a long time away.

Occ. It's alright. Night!

Okay, nooooooow it was a bit awkward - way to go, Lena. She stirred her tea on the counter for a moment before she realized that she was still smelling the roast in the oven. Mmmm.... Do you want to stay for dinner? she asked, looking back up at him with a smile as she picked up her cup and sipped from it once more.

Stay for dinner??? Ahhh well what could it hurt? And that pot roast smelled great. Plus he was supposed to go see a friend that lived by him after he left here. But he could just not go over to Mike's and stay here and he would get home the same time anyways. "Yeah sure." He said nodding. "Your house elf make that cause it smells really really good." He said chuckling.

Helena smiled at this and sipped the remainder of her tea before setting it in the sink before she heard the rest of what he said and she frowned over at him. I can cook, too, you know. Muggle Studies actually did help me. She sighed, shaking her head, but smiling once more.

Wow that came out wrong. Yikes! "No no that's not what I meant. I meant your house elf could really cook then. I didn't mean it like you couldn't. But that's good that you can cause I couldn't cook to save my life. Well...no I can't." Chris said shaking his head. That sooooo came out wrong and made him start to ramble on. "I do have to say though that Muggle Studies class was very interesting." He said.

Helena laughed as he started rambling on, making her shake her head, still grinning widely. Relax - I was just yanking your chain, she said, still chuckling slightly. I really like Muggle Studies, too, she added after a moment.

Chris nodded of course he knew that maybe.... He also knew that he was rambling haha great... "Oh yeah....well I know that." He said chuckling."I like Muggle Studies too. Well sometimes. I wasn't a fan of the dancing though. It wasn't so bad but I can't really dance." He said smiling just as wide to Lena.

Helena chuckled as she began to wash out her empty cup, looking over just once to return Chris's smile. Don't feel bad - I can't either. That definitely makes class more interesting, though.... Her smile widened as she put her cup in the strainer beside the sink and turned back to him. Well, we're both NEWT students now! she said brightly.

Chris chuckled. "I don't feel bad. I know I can't and will probably hurt myself or someone else trying to." He said to Lena and smiled slightly. "It definitely did. It was fun though." He said. Then she brought up NEWTs. Grahhhh great he didn't want to think about them. OWls are nothing compared to these. "Ahhh don't remind me. It just keeps remindeding me this is my last term and I have to take those super hard tests to top it off." He said. But then smiled towards her.
