On Christmas holidays, Helena decided to head back to her grandparents neighborhood in Bulgaria, only to find that they had perished a few weeks before in a car accident.

But they left her their house and everything in it. So now, she's working on fixing up the place on her own, cleaning and renovating the old mostly.

The two-story Victorian is high-end, made with the finest cut wood, polished to perfection. It's quite large - a grand entry way, parlor, library, kitchen, and dining room on the first floor and five bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second - but she's loving having her own place.

Chris nodded. "Yeah I guess to some people it feels that way. I was never a big fan of having to babysit my little brother. Not that he bad or anything. I normally found it rather boring and still I'm not thrilled about it. But whatever." He told Lena and smiled.

Helena chuckled. I'm sure it's a lot different when you see him all the time. When you choose to without prior knowledge it's just more.... willing, I guess. As she smiled, a whistling sound came from the kitchen and she stood up. That's my water -- do you want to come into the kitchen I'd just put on water for tea before you came.

"Yeah I guess you're right it is probably different." Chris said and nodded. He then heard a whistle sound, it sounded like a tea pot. "Yeah sure." He said as he stood up. "But I have to ask. How are you liking the Gryffindor Common Room? I haven't asked you since that day when I was a weird." He said still feeling bad about the whole thing.

Helena chuckled as she headed into the kitchen. It's actually kind of nice now that I'm used to it. I think I'll be pretty sad if our normal one is back after break. She put the whistling teapot on another burner of the gas stove as she went to grab a cup from the cupboard. Sure you don't want a cup? There's plenty.

Chris then followed Lena into the kitchen."Really? I don't think that it will be. I mean with the flooding and all. But I could be wrong. Yet I'm suprised that there hasn't been a fight yet." He said. "Sure I guess a cup wouldn't be bad. Thanks." He said smiling to her. "So you still miss your skulls?" He asked.

Oh, I don't think it will be either, I was just saying I'd be disappointed if it was, said Helena, pulling out a second mug and two teabags. Sorry I don't have the real stuff. She smiled as she poured water into the two mugs and put a spoon in each. She then headed over towards fridge. Nah, I decided I like lions better now. What do you take? she added, motioning to the refridgerator again.

"Hmm yeah I think I would be disappointed too." Chris said and smiled slightly. "It's no big deal. I'm not real picky with things as you might know by now." He told Lena. "Actaully that's how I drink my tea. Much like your coffee." He said teasing her. Chris then heard Lena say she liked lions now. Gulp. "And did I have anything to do with that?" He asked.

Oh, yes. She had noticed. Why else would she not want to return to the dungeons? Helena chuckled slightly at Chris's 'coffee' comment. No problem, she said as she handed him the mug and grabbed some sugar from an overhead cabinet. She spooned just one teaspoon in, stirred it up, and took a sip as she leaned against the counter. At his question, though, she sat her cup down and looked at him questioningly. Is this a trick question?

Chris stood next to Lena cluching the cup in his hands. "No that wasn't." He told her. He didn't know how to talk about this. Or even if he should, but with Lena and Melinda being in the same room soon he better get this out of the way. "You know we really haven't really talked about us. What I mean is...I said I have feelings for Mel. Which is true but would you ever want us to be more then just friends?" He asked. He could feel his heart race inside his chest. Why did he bring this up again?

Helena hadn't really been expecting this. It was very odd from what she knew of people before. Finally, she said, You know, you're not like anyone I've ever met before. In a good way, of course. She took another sip of tea thoughtfully before actually answering his question. I suppose.... if things changed - things between you an Mel, that is - well, you know that I've liked you for awhile, but it's not an all-or-nothing deal. Whatever you're happy with. She had never really understood the concept of placing herself before others, and it always felt right to do otherwise.

"I am? What do you mean by that?" Chris asked. "I know that would be the only way. But things with Mel are complicated. We broke up I guess but we see each other more then I ever though we were going to. I just don't know. And of course I would never do that to you or Mel." He said to Lena and took a sip of tea. "I just don't want to lose you as a friend." He told her truthfully.

Helena laughed at his expression and question. I just meant that most guys don't like talking about stuff like this - that was all, don't have a cow! She grinned and set down her cup again before crossing her arms and looking over at him; it wasn't an angry motion, just the usual for her. She shrugged slightly at his words. Things will work out one way or another, and at the moment it's probably best to let the resolve themselves, actually. At his last comment, her smile tweaked up a bit at the corners. I feel the same, but I think that we're easy-going enough to realize if its not working out to go back to being friends. She shrugged again slightly, still smiling in the slight as well.

Chris rolled his eyes playfully. "Gosh I wan't going to. I normally don't like talking about this but I'm confused so to speak. I'm just looking for answers I think." He told Lena and shrugged. But then saw her cross her arms yet she didn't look mad. "Yeah time will solve it all. And it's best to see what happens on it's own." He told Lena agreeing. "Well I think you're right about that one. So I guess we just wait and see what happens. Alright?" He asked as a smiled played on his face.

Helena smiled and stuck out her hand for him to shake, her eyes reflecting the same emotion present in his tone of voice. I'm game, she said, smirking before letting her grin appear for a moment. That was one of the odd things between them. It seemed like they were always pretty flirty with each other, but it wasn't anything to get all 'PDA-OCD' over. Most people didn't even realize it.

Chris smiled when he saw Lena put her hand out for a shake. He took it and shook her hand. "Alright so what we are saying is if we ever do make this relationship into something else we will remain friends right?" He asked raising an eyebrow slightly.

Correct, Mr. Kaplan. Helena grinned and took her hand back, resting both her elbows against the counter and leaning on them casually. Her smile had become normal again rather quickly as she picked up her fast-cooling tea and took a sip.

"This was a good idea you had Crawley." Chris said smiling. He then took another sip of the tea. Right now he was just happy that this was taken care of and he could put it in the back of his head. But of course that didn't mean he would do that same about his 'feelings' for Lena.

Hmmm....? Helena said vaguely as she took her empty cup over to the sink and began rinsing it out. What idea? Only two came to mind, one was inviting him over and the other was 'letting things unfold'.

Chris set his cup on the counter and then leaned on it putting his hands in his pockets. "Well me coming over because then you said we should wait and see what happens. And now it means I don't have to freak out anymore." He told Lena.

Helena chuckled and placed the clean cup and spoon in the drying rack beside the sink. She turned back to him smiling, one hand leaning on the edge of the sink as she looked him over. I'm glad you don't have to freak out, then, she said, her smile remaining.

Helena laughed as well while she wiped her wet hands on a dishtowel before throwing it back on the counter. Other than Chris's cup and the towel, it was pretty neat, so she didn't feel the need to go on a cleaning rampage. Yes, I don't know what I'd do if you starting rambling, she said sarcastically, grinning at him.

"Well rambling isn't fun. You just keep going on and on. Plus the person who is listening probably would love to shot you just to make you shut up." Chris said and laughed. He then looked out the window. He thought it would have been werid being with a girl all alone in her own house. But it really wasn't... Weird.

Chris rolled his eyes at Lena then gave her a playful glare. "Oh haha you are very funny. But if you don't want me here I guess I could always leave." He said taking a step towards the door like he was going to leave.
