After Ginny finishes her final year at Hogwarts, she's stunned to learn that Harry, who's been out of school a year, is engaged. Not wanting to return to the Burrow, which will be full of wedding planning and activity, Ginny escapes to Diagon Alley for a bit of independent living. The twins kindly take Ginny in and offer her a job, and she drags Neville and Luna along as flatmates. Who knows what will happen now that they are living independently?

This is a VERY loose storyline so far, but we want to have the chance to explore these characters as rising adults. I have all of the main characters filled at this point. If you are interested, go ahead and post your character idea. To be honest, I'd prefer HP characters (but not necesarily HRH) rather than made-ups... although a quality made-up is always welcome. If I don't feel your character will add to the story, I probably won't say yes. Also, we're quite serious about RPing, so if you aren't on at night EST, CST, or you will only post very sporadically, don't bother. This is advanced RPing, so YES, your posts need to be longer and more detailed and we DO care about your spelling and grammar.

"At the ministry," Luna replied in a distant voice, gazing out the window as her mind wandered away from the conversation. "Above your brothers' shop," she continued, trailing off at the end.

Guin was hard at work under the boiling sun when she heard a distant voice behind her. "Hey Guin!" Turning around and looking up she saw a tall, long red haired man before her with an earring. "Well, if it ain't Bill Weasley!" She yelled as she got up to hug her old friend.

Bill had worked on several projects with Guin in the best year when they needed his curse breaking skills for a tomb. She had also in her younger years at hogwarts had a crush on Bill, it was around the time McGonnagal tried to get her really interested in Wizarding Archeology and had invited Bill to talk to her about Egypt, him being there several times and all. But it was only a childish crush and she had grown out of it and now had become the best of friends since she'd gotten to Egypt. "What are you doing here? I thought you went back to London?" She asked wiping off the dirt from her hands and face.

"Well I did...but then they called me back just yesterday about tomb 771." Bill told her with a sigh. "So while I was on a bit of a break I thought I'd come over and say hello." He added with a smile as he looked around the site, "Big one I see."

"Ohh you don't know the half of it!" She told him with a small laugh and sigh. "It's a nightmare really, these muggle acrheologists just don't know when to leave a tomb alone. Well thats until of course they find themselves cursed to next year." They both laughed at this and knew to well about the muggles and there ignorance towards spells.

"So then why don't you take a break Guin? Come back home to London with me? I'm sure your family will be thrilled to see you again! And I'm sure you wouldn't wanna miss the famous Potters wedding now do you?" He asked her.

"Potter? Married? Who has that boy gone off to with?" Guin asked with a laugh, "He just finished school?" She added with a surprised look. "Well if you put it that way, I really wouldn't mind taking a break and finding out what your on about." She told him with a nod. They continued to talk for a bit and then departed going back to work. But before he left she made a promise to go back home with him in the next few days, something she looked forward to. "I wonder whats going on there...." Guin thought as she went back to the site.

Ron heard his best friend’s voice, walking towards the kitchen, asking him something. He listened to the voice, the statement. It seemed that Harry was talking about the dinner. He was relieved that Harry was asking about the food her only little sister, Ginny. He was walking around when his pal arrived.

He glanced at him, “I’m thinking.” He bent his head down, put his hand on his chin and started thinking. “Well, how about pasta?” he asked. He didn’t know how to cook, but pasta was his specialty. His family and some friends admired his pasta. The spaghetti… the lasagna… etc. Now, he could show his best friends and his pal’s girlfriend how amazing he was in cooking this food.

He passed the dinning table full of breads, candies, and fruits; the foods he had served for them. He smirked and approached the cupboards. He was looking for the utensils he needed for the cooking. While searching he asked Harry, “So? Want some pasta?”

"That's a great idea. Harry's shown me lots of pictures of Hogwarts, the lake is so beautiful, and the castle is really great - hehe, but you would know, wouldn't you? seeing as you went there. I think he'll love the idea... you're so amazing to come up with it, I would have never thought of it. Dumbledore will let us have the wedding there, won't he? I'll get Harry to owl him after I ask him about it."

"Yes, I'm sure Harry would love the Hogwarts idea..." Hermione said, looking over the book that Elizabeth had just been looking through. She was actually hoping that Harry would love the idea and Dumbledore would say yes, which were almost positive things. She wanted to go back to Hogwarts, she missed it a lot.

"...Sure," Harry said. Pasta was good. "So after we eat we are going to pick up Ginny, right?" He said this as more of a retorical question than an actual question.

"I'll go ask Hermione and Elizabeth if they are okay with whatever type of pasta you are making..." Harry said, quickly leaving the kitchen and walking into the room where the two girls were. He leaned against the side of the doorway.

"I heard Hogwarts... what are you two discussing?" He asked, inquisitively.

Ginny didn't know which bit of information surprised her more. Luna was working for the Ministry? Ginny liked Luna... a lot more than she would have thought she could, but she had to admit her friend was an odd duck, especially to be off working at the ministry, where conformity was the norm. She decided to push past that bit of information in favor of the latter tidbit.

"My brothers' shop?" There she went with the repeating again. "That wouldn't be so bad. The rent would have to be cheap, especially if more than one person lived there. I've seen that flat... there's three bedrooms and a nice open area attached to the kitchen. Its really roomy. You have a third roommate in mind?"

A jolt of the train drew her attention outside, and she noticed it was getting dark. They'd be home soon.

"No, I haven't really thought about it at all, really," she said, losing interest in the topic of conversation, completely now. "I wonder if father is picking me up himself or if I was supposed to find a cab...."

Ginny stared at Luna. The girl had fully lost her in her conversational transition. Apparently, she wasn't really that interested in getting a flat afterall. All the better, she supposed... why live out that dream when she could live for free with her parents?

"I don't know, Luna," Ginny said in a bit of a huff. "Your father doesn't owl me with his plans." She glanced at the darkening sky and sighed.

Neville was walking from his room at the Leaky Cauldron when a niose from across the roadway caught his attention. He had heard a loud bang and looked over to see the the shop it had come from was none other than the shop owned by the Weasley twins Fred and George. Neville checked his watch and saw that he had just enough time to pop his head in and say hi, as well as make sure they were both still in one piece. Everyone was well aware of the twin's keen interest in using their experiments on themselves, so Neville wasn't sure what he'd find as he rang the bell and entered the shop.

"uh....Fred, George...hello...it's Neville...Neville Longbottom." He was greeted by a squat little house elf he recognized immediatley as Dobby. Dobby had been the Malfoy's house elf several years back until he had been set free by a trick that Harry Potter had played on Lucious Malfoy. He worked at Hogwarts for a spell but once Fred and George made their memorable exit from the school and the temporary Headmistress, before the end of their seventh year (much to the amusement of the student body) he has been working for the twins.

"Dobby, how are you?" he asked while looking around for matching body parts of the twins.

"Dobby is fine sir, can Dobby gets you some tea please?" he asked while bowing his head a bit to Neville.

"No thank you Dobby, uhm... are Fred and George around?"

"Yes, they is in the back sir, trying out some new stuff," he answered looking awkwardly towards a back room that now had a trail of brown and green smoke coming from it. "Dobby doesn't go back and interupts the masters when they is working sir" he said raising his hands to his face and preparing to cover his ears.

"Um that's okay Dobby, I'll come back later when it's more convenient, can you give them this note for me?" And Neville handed the house elf a note he penned that said.....

Fred and George, hi, it's Neville Longbottom, I think you might remember me as a friend of Ron and Harry's from school. I now live here in Diagon Alley in the Leaky Cauldron (until the end of the month, at least) and I work at the Garden shop. Just wanted to say hi and I will stop by later. Hope you're well.....Neville"

Neville handed Dobby the note, looked cautiously back towards the smoke which now had turned orange and turned and walked out to another loud bang from the back room.

Ron stopped his hunting for materials and utensils he would need to cook. “Um… okay,” he agreed and resumed to his work. “Maybe… just ask them too what they want me to do.” He sensed that Harry left the room, feeling a little bit free for a while. No more eyes watching his back.

He closed the cupboards and used the backdoor to leave the room towards the garden. He searched for fresh tomatoes at their small garden. But Mrs. Weasley asked him, “What are you doing Ron?”

“I’m looking for spanking new tomatoes around this patch of ours,” he said, glancing at his mother every once in a while. He knew his mother was worried about him. He can see her concerned expression all over her face. He knew she would ask him any minute. He insisted, “Mother, I’m worried about Ginny. You know, what she will do if she find out about Harry and Elizabeth?”

Mrs. Weasley smiled. “I’ll help you and Harry with that problem.” She started looking for tomatoes too, helping his son. “Don’t worry. If she did something foolish, I will go fetch her and talk to her.”

“Thanks a lot mum,” Ron said gladly and hugged his mother with his strong grip. He released her and apologized. He walked around the patch, in search of good quality tomatoes.

Before either Hermione or Elzabeth could respond, Harry looked down at his watch and realized that he thought the Hogwarts Express got in an hour later then it did. At the same moment, an owl came swopping in the window, he would have to read the letter when they got back. He said, "Okay, you'll both have to answer that later, we have to go get Ginny... I forgot about the time."

While the girls were getting ready, Harry found Ron out in the garden, "Ron!" He said, jogging over, "We have to go get Ginny, I forgot the time was an hour early this year... you'll have to make your pasta when we get home... then maybe Ginny would like some... but probably not, Hogwarts food is pretty filling." They were finally going to get Ginny soon. When were they going to tell her, though? Tonight?

Luna watched as they arrived at King's Cross station. She and Ginny got their trunks and made their way off the train and onto Platform 9 3/4. Luna looked around but couldn't spot her father in their usual meeting spot. "I suppose I'm supposed to find my own way home," she said.

Ginny put her hand on her friends' arm. "I'm sure we can give you a ride, Luna. My da probably brought a Ministry car again, since he has to tote so many people around. It wouldn't be a problem to take you home or at least to the Burrow where you can apparate safely." Both Luna and Ginny had passed their apparation tests when they turned 17, but the station was warded so foolish wizards and witches wouldn't appear and get run over by a train or spotted by a Muggle.

She glanced around and felt like stomping her foot in frustration. Her family wasn't there either. They were late. "Just wait with me, and whenever they show up, we can get a ride."

George emerged from the backroom with one eyebrow missing and a great stench hanging off of his clothes. Fred emerged two steps behind him with the opposite eyebrow missing and a big smoking hole in his robes. He took off up the stairs, and George paused as he heard the water run overhead. "Serves him right, the git," George muttered under his breath and scrubbed his hand through his hair.

He caught sight of Dobby, who was almost cringing from the odor. "Ah, Dobby," George smiled hugely at the little elf who was much beloved and much tortured at the hands of the twins. "That last batch was a total failure. Fred's leaving for a few days to pick us up some supplies and to do a little research and development. And, uh... do you happen to know any spells that can remove blue polkadots from things? Otherwise, we need to get some new stock and uh..." He lifted his robes a bit and showed his spotted blue calves. "I'm going to need some new legs. Or longer robes. Or perhaps more pairs of trousers."

"Alright," she answered mistily and the two girls wandered over near the barrier to wait. Luna sat down, cross-legged, on top of her trunk and took out her wand. She stared at it for a little while before pointing it down at the concrete platform and began drawing strange pictures in vivid colours, like a child playing with chalk on the sidewalk. Only, her pictures were intricate designs, weaving and swirling, in complex patterns. She hummed to herself as she worked, completely oblivious to the people around her, walking by and giving her strange looks.

Harry was getting impatient. The girls were taking way too long to "get ready"... which seemed odd... what did they have to get ready for? Women. Ron seemed really hooked on his pasta idea, and that was fine. Harry returned outside, "Ron, nevermind, I'm going to go get her myself!" Before Ron could respond, Harry checked to make sure he had his wand in his pocket, and apparated to an empty back parking lot at the London train station.

He ran to the front of the building and inside, dashing past muggles, up escalators and yelling a quick "sorry" to people he hit. He was wondering why this mattered so much to him? It was only Ginny... she couldn't be mad... but it did bother him. He concluded the fact that maybe since he felt bad about not telling telling her about his engagement, he felt he had to do something to make up for it.

When he reached the platform, he came upon Ginny, standing, not even noticing Luna, who was sititng on the ground. He came to a standstill, trying to catch his breath, face pink, "Hi... Ginny..." He felt as though he should give her a hug and stood there akwardly, in-between the decision to give her a hug or not.

Ginny stared down at Luna in consternation, but her friend was completely oblivious. A sound from right by her side brought Ginny's attention up to find Harry standing next to her. How had he snuck up on her like that? He was out of breath a bit and he had this... look about him that was so completely not Harry. Like he wasn't totally sure where he stood... but Ginny couldn't understand that at all. She brushed it aside and just drank him in. She hadn't seen him in a while, electing to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas to enjoy some free days with her friends. He looked mostly the same: unruly black hair, green eyes full of mischief and humor... but the planes of his face were more man than boy, and he had a quiet sort of dignity about him now.

"Harry!" Ginny's eyes lit up and she grabbed him in a bear hug that would be rivaled only by the hug she had for her Ron. Pulling back to stare up at him, she grinned saucily. "You're late! And where's Ronnie and Hermy? Not fighting, I hope..."

Dobby looked at George's legs and tried to hold back a laugh and since he could never tell one from the other he reponded, "Dobby will gets his master some new trousers sir since Dobby doesn't sees anything wrong with the master's legs." and he bowed lowly and left to go out to the clothes shop around the corner but then he stopped at the door and turned. "Dobby almosts forgets sir, you have a letter sir," he held Neville's note out for George, "it's from a friends of yours from Hogwarts sir,"

Ginny had certainly solved the hug problem. It was rather comforting, hugging Ginny. She made him feel like everything was right, he would never have to tell her about any stupid engagement...

But that feeling only lasted as long as the hug and as soon as he pulled away, looking into her smiling, pretty face, he ran a hand through his messy hair and said, "Well, they were being slow, Ron was set on making dinner, and Hermione and- uh, Hermione was taking too long. I told them all the wrong time and realized I was late so apparated out in this empty parking lot..." He now had his breath back and noticed Luna on the ground. He had a quizzical expression on his face.

"Oh... er, hello, Luna."

Luna was used to being ignored and so kept to her attention on her drawings until Harry addressed her. She flicked her wand to erase the scribblings and slowly got to her feet, allowing her ankle-length skirt to fall where it might, she never was concerned about rumpled clothing. "Hello, Harry," she said.

George grabbed the note as Dobby disappeared out the door. Longbottom, huh? He remembered the boy from his days. Heard he had shaped up into a right good wizard, considering he had been a bit pathetic in his youth. Ah, well... who was he to point fingers when he'd not even managed a Leaving Certificate from Hogwarts? He scribbled a quick note inviting Longbottom for tea sometime, then attached it to the leg of the owl he shared with Fred.

The water overhead stopped, and he heard some clomping around, followed by a loud pop. Fred had left and not bothered with a good bye. Must be angry about the whole blowing up of the backroom, although George was certain FRED had been the one to put in the aged pixie dung. George climbed the stairs to try to scrub the polkadots off his legs, heaving a big sigh. It would be lonely without his git of a twin.

Ginny watched Harry greet Luna, and she smiled at his consideration of her. He wasn't particularly good friends with her, but he went out of his way to greet her when she was being a bit strange. She felt as if he had pushed her away from himself, although she couldn't exactly understand that reaction. They were friends. He let Hermione hug him all the time. In fact, she herself hugged him on occasion. But there was that unexplainable look on his face again...

"Harry... is everything all right? There's not... no one's hurt are they?"

Harry blushed, "No, no one's hurt... everything... erm, everyone is fine." He couldn't tell her everything was right, for he really didn't know if everything was. His heart seemed to be beating faster than normal now and he seemed to regain some of the feeling that he had during his run to fetch Ginny.

"So, uh... should we get going?" He asked, then glancing at Luna, "Uh... do you, uh? Are you...erm... coming with us?"

Ginny crossed her arms and frowned intensely at Harry. He was holding back, and it didn't take her having known him 8 years to tell her that quite plainly. There was something amiss, and he was... was he sweating?

"Yes, Luna is coming with us to find an apparation point, but... I don't think we're going anywhere, Harry." He seemed surprised, so she added. "We're friends, Harry, and I know you fairly well. Something is going on. I want to know. NOW." Her voice was emphatic and held traces of Mrs. Weasley's no-nonsense tone that made all her children quake a bit.

Luna looked from Ginny to Harry and back again. She wasn't sure what was going on but, Harry did appear to be acting quite strangely. He was fidgety and Luna could see beads of sweat forming on his forehead. She wasn't sure he was up to apparating anywhere in that state and would say so if he tried to weasel out of answering GInny's question.

Harry grabbed Ginny's hand in attempt to start the walk to back outside. However, she seemed stubborn, like her mother... He turned back towards her.

Harry sighed nervously, "Can't I tell you at home?" He did not feel like telling her something such as this in a crowded train station, nonetheless in front of Luna Lovegood. This situation was just way too nerve-racking and akward.
