Ok so like...everyone had a partner except for him. As usual. Kane didn't know what it was about partner activities but he seemed to ALWAYS miss out on the initial rush of partner claiming. He was alllll by himself again. Frowny face.

So they be doing Heating and Cooling charms? Ohhh several things have suddenly popped up in his head on how he can use this. It got him all excited and ready to bolt for the kitchens. BUT popcorn balls first!

He grabbed the ingredients and supplies, just in time for the Professor to say that they would be working with a partner. They will? Unfortunately the Gryffindor Ace was the kind of chef that wants to be king of the kitchen. But fiiiiine he'll work with someone today.

Emmeline shot Stasya a grateful smile as the other girl came over to her desk. "Yeah! Should be fun! She hoped so anyway. She knew Stasya liked to work with older kids, so she was doubly happy that her friend had picked her as a partner instead. She definitely wouldn't let Stasya down! Hopefully...

Grabbing the recipe card, Emmeline dumped the two cups of popcorn into one of their bowls. Now time for the first new spell. She took her wand out of her holster kind of hesitantly, because she usually didn't get new spells right on the first try. On the other hand, the wand shop lady had said her wand was really good at fire spells, and a heating spell was similar, maybe.

She decided to practice the wand movement by itself a couple of times first, to make doubly sure that she could do it properly. Once she felt better about it, she aimed her wand at the popcorn, repeated the flame sign, and muttered: "Calefacio!" Annnd, absolutely nothing happened.

Okay then. Time for a second try. Emmeline drew a flame with her wand once again, and said: "Calefacio!" A few of the kernels popped, but that still wasn't the result they needed. She was determined to cast this spell properly; she wasn't going to make Stasya do more than half of the work.

For some reason, Mr. B's advice in flying lessons came back to her: "Show it who's boss." Surely that could be applied to stubborn popcorn as well as brooms? Fixing the popcorn with a determined look, Emmeline drew another flame with her wand and said more loudly: "Calefacio!" This time the popcorn cooperated better and began popping right away, until the whole bowl had transformed into white, fluffy goodness.

Maybe that was too loud, though. Oops. "Sorry, Stasya!", she muttered in a MUCH softer tone of voice. She didn't always have to yell to get spells to work. Really.

That was the first step done, though. Emmeline's eyes widened as she read the next step in the instructions, because that silly spell had to work for 5 whole minutes! Maybe she should've let Stasya pop the corn, because that sounded better than this step. Glancing at her friend, she pointed down at the second step: "Maybe we can trade places or something?" So that neither of them was holding the spell for the whole time. It was up to Stasya, really.

Before she could offer to bring the ingredients over to their table, Derf was already gone but back soon enough with all the things.. Etta was almost surprised that he could carry so much with his small arms. He was a baby, after all. She grinned, gave him another hair ruffle before helping him to arrange the ingredients neatly on the desk. She looked at her parchment to go through the instructions once again.. when Derf started to ask something and he seemed more.. awkward than usual?

It took her a minute or two to understand what he said.. but she flushed a bright pink. Did he just ask her to sign a shirt? A shirt with her face? Blushing mooooore. Ahem. She nodded slowly, an enthusiastic but shy smile on her face. "Of course! I'm excited to see the shirt you made, Derf."

She'd been hoping she hadn't come across as too pushy when she gave her suggestion but if Shay minded, she certainly didn't say anything about it. On the contrary, she jumped right on it, warming the butter.

Jessa peered over into the bowl, seeing the butter melting for herself just as the older girl mentioned it to her. "Right, I'm on it!" The 13 year old measured out 1/2 teaspoon of salt, a cup of molasses and a cup of white sugar from the ingredients she'd collected then slowly began adding each. While she added them, Jessa grabbed a wooden spoon from the counter and began to stir it all in together.

Occasionally she glanced down at her watch, though she was pretty sure Shay was keeping an eye on the time too.

It was the right decision allowing her to do the spell at this point. Going through the 5 minutes now, Jessa was all the more certain she wouldn't have been able to keep it up this long. The girl didn't even falter with it even once. Must've been nice. She couldn't wait til she got to the point where spells weren't a problem for her either.

"Aaannnd done." That was the end of the five minutes and the start of the next step. "Yeah, we can make them together." She agreed, reaching for the bowl and nudging it toward her so she could pour their mixture on it. "You pour and I'll stir."

Another glance back had made Stasya pause in her steps, as she noticed how much Derf looked like a lost little puppy waiting for a partner and she wondered if she should have just stayed over by him. Or if she should have asked an older student, having seen the little smile Liv had sent in her direction before ending up working with Rooney anyway. Maybe it would have been easier, but she still felt like she’d get to work with everyone at some point or another. And Emmeline had asked, even if it hadn’t been specifically to her. And Etta had gone over to Derf, so things were all good and she turned back to Emmeline in time to catch her friend’s smile and her agreeing to work with her. “It will be,” she replied with a nod. She knew it was going to be fun. They were making popcorn balls after all.

She had watched as Emmeline had cast the heating charm on the popcorn in the bowl, trying to will the spell to work for her. Plus, it gave her another chance to watch it being cast, although she had taken her wand out and started quietly practicing the movements while she waited for her turn. She had jumped a little as she had cast it the third time really loud, her own wand sort of stutter-stopping halfway through the little flame shape, but she gave her a grin anyway. “‘Sokay.”

They had their popcorn now, which was exciting, but there was still a lot left to go. “But someone has to add the other stuff,” she pointed out. “We can both make the balls later and do the freezing,” she added with another nod. She was okay with trying to keep the charm up for a while, as long as she actually managed to cast the charm. She’d been practicing the fire charm, so she thought a heating charm should be easier.

Putting the butter into the empty bowl, she kept her eyes on it as she pointed her wand again. Making sure she wasn’t going to cast the charm anywhere else, she made the little flame shape again with the tip of her wand. “Calefacio!” It looked like the butter sort of started to melt, but not really so she focused on it even more. “Calefacio!!!,” she repeated, a little bit stronger, and let out a little giggle when the butter melted more. Now she just had to make sure it all melted evenly, or at least that’s what the instructions said. Plus she had to let Emmeline add the other stuff.

Melbourne was still beaming at the fact that she had gotten CLOSE to getting the spells right. She even glanced over to Olivia Holden and grinned over to her…they had done this! THEY had aced this. He had even liked her comments about cleaning up as they went….oh that was great. Really.

Wait…they were supposed to have partners?

Melbourne looked around the room and slumped slightly. Who’d want to work with her? Everyone was already taken really…darn it why couldn’t Hadley have been here today – wait…no, that would have been a disaster they would have set the classroom ablaze if Hadley had been baking.

”Anyoen want to work together?” she asked her voice almost quiet as she stood there…could they work in larger groups? Was that possible?

Emmeline had been watching Derf out of the corner of her eye; if he hadn't found a partner, she or Stasya would have gone over there. She didn't have to worry about him for long, though, because the Hufflepuff champion had partnered up with him really quickly. She suppressed a smile as she watched them for a second; did Derf have a crush on his housemate? She felt like Derf had a thing for older girls. She didn't really understand it, but she supposed no one could help who they like liked.

What were they doing again? Right, Charms. Emmeline was glad that Stasya didn't think it was unfair that she had to cast the healing spell for five whole minutes, and she grinned at Stasya when the other girl got the heating spell perfectly right on her second try.

Now, how was she going to stir this stuff in when they hadn't learned a stirring spell? Emmeline took out the other ingredients one by one from the box and opened their packaging enough that they would be easily poured/stirred in. To her relief, there was a small wooden spoon in their box.

The first year carefully measured out 1 cup of white sugar, and poured it into the butter bowl. She stirred it up a bit with one hand while pouring the cup of molasses with her wand/right hand. Some of the molasses spilled on the desk as a result, but they still had a cup's worth that Emmeline stirred into the mixture. Lastly, she measured out 1/2 a teaspoon of salt and dumped that into the bowl too, keeping the stirring up as much as possible the whole time. She'd seen Slinky, their house-elf, bake stuff in the kitchen when she was little, so she was pretty sure that that was how to stir stuff in.

Now to keep stirring until their 5 minutes was up. "Doing alright there?", she asked Stasya; her friend had the harder job after all, and Emmeline had been so focussed on the other ingredients that she hadn't paid attention to how Stasya's casting was going. Her friend seemed really good at Charms, though, so she wasn't really worried.

Emmeline glanced down at her watch as she continued to stir: "Five minutes are almost up, right?" She thought so, but she'd check with Stasya to make sure they agreed before they moved on.

Daniel had been totally busy in his common room and so he had no idea of the time, until he looked up and saw that charm had started ages ago, he ran as fast as he could until he got to the room and walked in.

"Just thought I'd be fashionably late." Daniel thought he might as well say something to the Professor as he walked into the room. "You know like a famous person does." Yeah he was saying he was famous.

Sweet! So it was Skylar. Awesome! She was glad that she had remembered her name and had gotten it correctly. And they were working together. Great! Olivia slung her bag over her shoulder and moved her belongings over to where Skylar was. Placing her notebook and pen on the table so she could easily follow the instructions, she glanced at Skylar and nodded at the suggestion. Skylar would pop the popcorn and Olivia would melt the butter? That sounded like a good plan to her. "Sounds good to me!" she said.

Then she grabbed the butter and headed to work. Alright. They needed a tablespoon of butter, right? She measured out the butter, making sure it matched he amount, and then cut it with a knife to the right size. Placing the butter in the bowl, she took her wand and focused for a moment, trying to remember the incantation that they had learned. Calefacio. She had to trace her wand in an M-shape. She practiced making a flame shape with her wand three times. Once she felt confident with that, she moved onto the pronunciation. Calefacio. Calefacio. Calefacio. That sounded like how Professor Marchand had said it.

Steadying her hand and wand above the butter in the bowl, she drew a flame shape and said the incantation, "Calefacio." She moved her wand slowly over the butter and watched it begin to melt.

He was NOT a baby. Yes, the whole age thing was a bit of a touchy subject still with this whole tournament going on and his little 12-year-old ego bruised pretty badly. Bruised, but he was still SUPER excited for some of the people he REALLY admired and looked up to being selected. People like Etta. Who he just KNEW was going to help him make sure that he didn't blow something up or melt something that he really ought not to. Like he had done in Herbology last term. The bucket....that Professor Myers apparently had on display somewhere.

Her cheeks were red. More and more girls were DOING that around him and he really wasn't sure what to make of it. He would ask Jessa...but conversations on that tended to turn too detailed and scientific for his innocent ears to follow. Abey...he would maybe talk to his Gryffindor about it.

"GREAT!" he squeaked as he grabbed the bowl and fumbled with the popcorn for a moment before getting it into the bowl. "Uuuuh....you probably ought to do the heating charm on the popcorn," he said a bit sheepishly. "I'm likely to burn it all. I can do the butter!" Which he grabbed next and carefully, sort of, measured out the one tablespoon worth and plopped that into the other bowl. "Calefacio?" he repeated, glancing up at Etta curiously. Had he said that right? At least there were no 's' sounds in this incantation. There WAS hope.

Okay well... Abey didn't understand at all why someone would choose not to use magic if they had the ability and the opportunity and there were no muggles around or anything......... but sure. Okay.

But he would never be one of those people, probably. Magic made everything better and faster and left more time to do OTHER things. FUN things.

When the activity was announced, Abey immediately got up and out of his seat to go collect the supplies, because actually he had definitely not listened to the part about working with a partner, and was READY TO GET TO WORK. Nyoom.

Did they get to eat this stuff after? Had Marchand said? Abey couldn't remember but he decided it would practically be CRIMINAL if they weren't allowed to.

One by one the Ravenclaw added the required items and stirred them, as Shay moved her wand back and forth over the mixture. It was all coming together nicely so far. It wouldn't be long before they had a counter full of tasty popcorn balls.

Shay checked her watch and realized that the five minutes were almost up. Jessa called time just as Shay's watch hit the five minute mark. "Finite", she said, ending the spell. When Jessa suggested that Shay pour the mixture over the popcorn, the sixth year nodded. She picked up the bowl that had been pushed toward her and positioned it over the popcorn bowl. "I'm going to pour it now. You can go ahead and start to stir. That way it should get mixed together pretty well." With that, Shay began to pour the buttery, sugary goodness over the popcorn.

Once Shay had emptied the bowl and resisted the urge to stick her finger in the remnants for a quick taste, she took some of the extra butter and covered her hands with it. Now she was ready to make some popcorn balls . As soon as Jessa was finished mixing the ingredients, she would dive in and get started. Shay set the remaining butter close to her partner so she could butter up when she was finished. "Once you get your hands buttered we can start making the popcorn into balls.". Time to get messy.

Ugh, she was getting hungry just looking at the sweet mixture being poured. It was a good thing they'd be able to eat these afterwards because otherwise it'd be plain torture.

Wooden spoon still in hand, Jessa dipped it into the bowl while Shay poured, being sure to have the popcorn mixed in properly. The Professor didn't say how long it would need to be but she supposed once it looked mixed enough the job was done. Right now, it was looking pretty mixed to her.

"Right, the butter!" With this done, the young girl lowered the spoon and reached over to get her hands buttered as the older girl had done. She didn't typically like having butter or any such things that made everything more slippery on her hands but slippery was apparently the point here. "Okay, done, we can start making 'em now." She herself dipped her hand into the bowl of sticky popcorn. "I think if we size 'em right, we should be able to pull 14 so...7 each?"

Jessa took a small handful and began molding it. Over and over she grabbed little handfuls, shaping them into the same ball shape. All of them ended up around the same size and while she wasn't the fastest worker, she took great care in everything she was doing. "I can't wait to eat these." She confessed with a chuckle.

At the end of her 7, Jessa looked over at Shay. "Ready for us to do the cooling charm?"

Jessa was finished mixing and it was time to make the donuts......er popcorn balls. "Seven each, check.", Shay said. She dipped her hands into the gooey mess and got a handful of sticky popcorn. Then she carefully rolled, patted and molded it into a relatively round ball. Careful not to make it too big, Shay started on the second of her balls. ''This time, she opted to add a few pices of candy to the outside, just to give it a little pizazz. These were going to be so good.

On and on Shay went carefully crafting her assumed to be delicious treats. When Jessa revealed how anxious she was to sample them, the Gryffindor was in agreement. "I know, right? I can't wait to eat them either. We're almost finished though. Just a little more to do." Finally, Shay finished creating her last masterpiece. After giving it a little thought, she added candy pieces to a few more popcorn balls and then she was done.

It was cooling time. "Yes, I'm ready", Shay said to Jessa. "Let's do this." Shay checked her instructions, but before she started cooling, she washed her hands. She did not want to have popcorn sauce on her wand. Hands de-stickied, Shay took out her wand. She positioned her hand over her first popcorn ball and made an M shape. "Frigidus", she said with authority. Using her finger, Shay checked the ball. It still felt a little squishy to her, so she decided to give it another shot. Repeating the wand movement, she said, Frigidus". Now that was more like it. That was a popcorn ball. Confident now in her cooling ability, Shay repeated the process six more times. When she finished, she put her wand away and turned to her partner. "Looks pretty good. What do you think?". All she had to do now was clean up, but Shay wanted to make sure that Jessa was completely finished before starting that task.

So before he got popping any kernels, the Gryffindor figured he should practice on the spells first, just to make sure he doesnt end up roasting the kernels instead yknow? Flame-shape wand work then "Calefacio..." Repeating this a few times, he noticed how just the air at the end of his wand would wave in the invisible heat. Looks to be good yeah?

He grabs a handful of kernels into a separate bowl then flame-shaped the air above the kernels "Calefacio"

... And oh! Lookitdat kernels be a-poppin!

Tenacius grabbed a piece and took a bite. "Hmm, works!" Lacks taste but then they'll be working on that later. Right now, the Gryffindor Ace be working on popping them kernels till they get a nice pile yup!

She was right, they really didn't have a lot more to do. Jessa had opted to forego the candy, feeling that the molasses and sugar would already make the popcorn ridiculously sweet, but she would admit Shay's popcorn looked very colourful--like the kind you'd wanna see in Sugarplums. It would be entirely too sweet for her but still so pretty.

Jessa followed Shay's lead, getting her hands clean--because who wanted a slippery wand for the rest of the day?

Now then, time to take care of getting these treats cooled. Jessa created the 'M' movement with her wand over her treats and tried her hardest to concentrate. Hopefully it would work better than the heating charm had. "Frigidus." It was amazing, she could actually feel the cool air coming off her wand as it jetted toward her popcorn treat. It had worked! It had obviously worked and Jessa found herself squealing just a bit with excitement.

The excitement faded, however, when she moved it over the second treat and the cool air suddenly stopped. Taken aback, Jessa raised the wand to her face to test it, but it was as she'd thought, the wand was no longer doing what it was told.

"Frigidus!" Again she did the 'M' motion, putting everything into her concentration to make it stay. Thankfully it seemed to work this time and before she knew it, she'd gotten all 7 treats nice and cooled. "I think they look great!" Jessa replied, grinning down at their handiwork. "Bet they taste great too." Just to be sure, she picked one up and popped it into her mouth. "Mmmmmmm." See? Great.

Evenly? Oh, right... Rooney supposed that that made sense, yes. He thought one of them doing the popcorn and then the butter would have been evenly though. But Livvy had already split their things up, so he could only agree with her. First time he was giving in on account of it being her decision in a long time. Man, love took away a lot. But she was definitely worth it. Had anyone realised how lovely she looked for a green painted individual? So wonderful. So beautiful. And she was his forever. "Sounds perfect," he mumbled, tossing his wig over his shoulder and shuffling the bowl with his kernels in towards him.

His initial need was to watch her performing magic, because it was one of his favourite things to do, but he had work to be doing and standing up in these shoes was harder than he thought it had been earlier. Maybe the cushioning charm was wearing out. Or the numbing cream on his feet. Beauty was pain.

Instead, he pointed his want at the bowl and whilst tracing a flame shape over the bowl contents, cast "Calefacio!" Oooooooooooh popping!!!!!

BEAMING widely as the new charm connected and worked her uncooked corn into something more edible, Liv paused only to fling her arms around Rooney's neck......as she was quite proud of herself. In the moment. Very out of character and unbecoming of the Wicked Witch of the West, who she felt confident would never have hugged Rapunzel, but whenever someone performed new magic, it was almost always cause to celebrate! Unless you were casting dangerous, wicked magic....to hurt other. It was safe to assume that was not something to be happy about.

Hm, now for melting the butter... Okay, this bit was sorta confusing. One person melts it, while the other pours the remaining ingredients in one by one? Or would they mix them together beforehand and then combined the butter with that? Oh, buddy. Okay, this was not a Greek tragedy.

AHEM..."Yes, perfect." However, it was NOT perfect. Nothing was perfect. LIFE WAS IMPERFECT. To disguise her passing amusement, Olphaba grinned oddly in her purple counterpart's direction. "I shall melt the butter and then YOU, Glin-....Roopunzel, shall add the others."

Was that okay? It only just occurred to her that saying as much in character might've come off a little rude. But again, she didn't wait for his confirmation, as she moved the bowl with the butter slice to the center of the desk. That way, it would be easy for them both to work around it if need be. They'd be... sharing the responsibility of keeping it heated for the full five minutes, right? Or was she misunderstanding? "Thank you for working with me." It was said randomly. "I really adore you." That was random, too.

Okay, SO...

Uhhhhhhh....

Wait a minute. Um... Abey... had already forgotten the instructions. NoooOOOOOOOO. Why hadn't he paid more attention? ROOKIE MISTAKE. He KNEW he needed to listen properly in classes like Charms and Transfiguration, because he WAS better at practical magic but only when the instructions weren't too long and complicated and he had listened properly to what spell they were working on. So far, he remembered 'Heating and Cooling Charms' ... and that was about it.

Almost frantically, Abey rummaged through his box of stuff, looking for something that might give him a little more information. He found it too, in the form of a small card, with directions written on it. Sitting back in his chair, he frowned in concentration and held the card up to his face, squinting so that he could at least SEE the instructions actually, in order that he might be able to decode them.

It took... a while. As usual. But... Abey THOUGHT he knew what to do. Maybe. Um... sort of.

So, the little popcorn bead things needed to go into a bowl; that much Abey remembered from the demonstration. Once they were all out - perhaps a little bit way too much actually - Abey picked up his wand, and checked the card once again for the spell he needed.

"Cah-leff-ack-eye-oh," he said out loud, as he attempted to read the spell that was written on the card, butchering it horribly in the process. "Caleffackiyoh..." Well... that was what it said. Even if it sounded... so wrong.

Setting the card down, Abey pulled the bowl closer, pointed his wand at its contents, and gave it a try. "Caleffackiyoh!" ................ Nothing. Okay, well... "Caleffackiyoh...?"

Huh. "It's not working," he mumbled to himself, disappointed and actually a little confused actually because he hadn't even got the tingly feeling in his fingers that he ALWAYS got whenever he tried out a spell, even one that didn't work.

OH, WAIT. Important missing part. "What's the wand movement again?" Abey asked the room at large, looking around to see if he could copy someone else.

Gaston moved between the rows of desks, watching his students intently in their varying stages of progress, ready to offer assistance if necessary. Miss Summers and Miss Burton were off to a great start. It had taken Miss Burton a couple of tries to get the heating charm, but the important thing was that she didn't give up. "Excellent, Miss Burton!" the professor said with an approving smile. "Practice makes perfect!"

Miss Dalgaard-Volkova also seemed to be having a bit of trouble with the spell. Gaston was at her side in moments, but she got it right before he could offer any pointers. "Nicely done!" he said, giving her and Miss Sparkes a smile.
"I knew you could do it!"

Miss Morrison and Miss Cambridge seemed to be the farthest along, having already made several popcorn balls. "Great job, ladies!" he praised them. His eyes darted to Miss Cambridge just as she tasted one of the popcorn balls. "So how do they taste?"

The teams of Miss Phillips/Mr. Bronwyn, Miss Potts/Miss Harington, Miss Holden/Miss Diggory, Miss Kramer/Mr. Ashbury-Hawthorne, and Mr. Salander/Mr.Westwood were also making excellent progress. Each team got an encouraging smile from the professor before glanced at his watch and turned to address the class as a whole. "Excellent work, all of you! You have about ten minutes left to finish making your popcorn balls. Once you're done, you may eat them or take them with you to save or later or give to-"

A voice cut him off mid-sentence, and he wheeled around, his long black coat billowing behind him, just as Mr. Moore walked in. Where had he been? "Mr. Moore, you're late," he said. "I'm afraid that's five points from Gryffindor." He hated to do it, but rules were rules. "Now go join one of your classmates' groups and try to catch up..." He brandished his hook playfully at the boy. "... or ye'll walk the plank!"

Gaston looked around and saw that Miss Sorin-Ward also hadn't found a partner yet. Had he forgotten there was an odd number of students in the class? "You may join another group as well, Miss Sorin-Ward," he said, "or try to work by yourself if you prefer."

And speaking of working by oneself... the professor turned and saw Mr. Botros all alone and struggling to cast a heating charm. He heard the boy ask about the wand movement and sidled over to him. "The wand movement for the heating charm is a flame shape, Mr. Botros," he said. "Like this..." He drew the shape of a flame with his wand but didn't say the incantation; the boy needed to learn to do the spell himself. "You've got the incantation down, now let's try putting it with the wand movement. I know you can do it; just keep trying." and he gave the boy an encouraging smile.

And there's he is, the other Westwood boy "Kane I'll work with ya." he said as he lay out all the supplies he's cradled in his arms, setting them out across from them-- bowls, popcorn kernels, different sorts of candies, the works. "So, lets try this heating charm eh?"

Kane grinned. It wasn't very often that the PREFECTS wanted to work with him. He nodded at the older boy and wandered over to his station, since he already had everything gathered up.

"Sure, sounds good," he said, clearing his throat. He had to practice it a few times first - because boy, was it a MOUTHFUL. "Calefacio...Calefacio...Calefacio..." he muttered a few times. The wand movement was really easy at least. Just move it over the popcorn. Easy.

Tenacius was already going to work on the popcorn, so he took the butter and placed it in a bowl, using the heating spell on that while he worked on the corn. "Calefacio!" he muttered, moving his wand over the butter. Slowly but surely it started to melt, indicating that it was working. Awesome!

Daniel looked at the Professor, seriously it should be a rule to be fashionably late, but then the next words confused him... 10 minutes left, seriously maybe next time he should make sure he gave himself more time... like he had been sure he wasn't that late. There was fashionable late and then there was late... late and this was starting to sound like the second one.

Now he had to find someone who knew what was going on. The Professor was playfully saying he would walk the plank. Normally he would say where was the plank but he wanted to make it up to the Professor, so what was it they had to do. Who would know, he scanned the room.

A smile of relief crossed her face as Lucy agreed to partner with her. Relief that she hadn't said no, partly because she didn't want to suffer the embarrassment of the rejection, and partly because everyone was already starting to partner up and Flick didn't exactly know many people.

Anyway. Smile still in place, Felicity tipped the popcorn into a bowl and pulled out her wand. "Are you any good at this?" she said, before her own attempt. "Calefacio." Rotating her wand in a fire shape over the 'corn, she figured she should be better at this considering how many times she'd watched her dad do it. Her stream of hot air, however, came out lukewarm, only a handful of kernels proceeding to pop.
