It was the strangest thing. Just who was this Gryffindor fellow and why did people keep taking points from him. More importantly, what did that have to do with her? Maleficent didn't even know him. There was no sympathy in her heart for the man and even if, she didn't know what points were for and why it mattered whether you lost them or not.

Strange indeed...

And taking such a tone with her! Didn't he know who she was??? The Dark Queen might have been more incensed if she could wrap her mind around the threat. Take her seat or have Gryffindor lose 10 more. She found herself with yet another question. "If Gryffindor loses another 10 points, would that make me 10 points richer than him? What will that get me? A higher seat at the table?" When you got richer it was to your benefit. WHAT benefit would this have for her? On the point of her seat...THIS was her seat, that chair behind this table was hers. What was the issue? It was meant for the one in charge and being the Mistress of All Evil, that was HER.

"I've seen the pictures of this castle move. I find them most likely to move after you've set fire to their frames." Quick little devils they were too.

Yeah, Toby'd heard Soph's answer, and no, it hadn't cheered him up at all. If anything, it served to make him feel probably even worse, NOT that he understood why, and not that it was something he was going to admit to or let show in his expression. He just... stayed there, all low in his seat and staring pointedly away, either at his notes or out of the window or at the schoolbag on the floor belonging to the kid in front of him. He kept his expression TOTALLY neutral and absolutely not guilty/confused/sad. Absolutely none of those things. Nope.

Which was slightly more difficult when he looked up momentarily to check on Kyroh again, who was slinking down in his chair just like Toby was. Merlin. Mer-lin. Toby felt like a real piece of work right now; all that, among other things, had definitely been his fault. He was certain of it.

Toby looked back at his notes and scribbled something nonsensical down in his notes, trying to look busy and on task. Though... he'd actually somehow managed to miss that next question entirely, probably being so distracted with his own thoughts. However, as it sounded from other kids' answers to be about cameras and photos and stuff, Toby was 100% sure he didn't have a clue about this, despite that one seminar they'd had that time (he never had a chance of remembering any of that). Toby probably wouldn't have provided an answer if he knew anyway, given that his entire life plan right now was to try and turn invisible, or as close to it as he could possibly get.

Which meant silence and working super hard on keeping that neutral expression, though he had no idea if it was really working. In a way, it helped that Lex was being all... like that, because Toby found himself focusing on her instead.

Angel looked at the Professor and raised her hand. "Is it like those special trading cards you can get as a muggle?" Angel had collected some. "Some of those move around by some sort of special effect though I have no idea what type of effect it is some soft of magic act I used to think but I doubt that is right." Angel sighed. "So I'll guess at animation."

Hmmmm, moving pictures. Norah picked up her quill and titled her notes before raising her hand in the air. "Don't they develop it in some kind of potion?" She shrugged. Just a guess. But the professor HAD said it was okay to guess, so there.

"Okay, Professor" He will certainly tell this Professor if he finds out the spells do that it. Sounded like a lot of transfiguration spells. So maybe Bellaire would be a better help in that. But it was something he was going to do in the future. It was too awesome not too. Though he might not remember to tell this Professor Piersie or whatever his name is. He did not introduce himself. That Dante heard.

So Piersie it was for now.

Sounded like the answer was already said and Dante did not want to seem like more of an idiot by answering 'By Magic'

So no talky.

Though in the vaguest sense. His answer was right.

Too young to be attacked?

He didn't think so.

Besides, he was fifteen now. Less than six months away from being sixteen. He was going to be kinda legal in the British Muggle world, which was a very big deal to the fifth year. The only downside to his sixteenth was the fact that the OWLs were only a couple of days or weeks away, which meant that he'd have to study on one of the most important days of his life. Freaking rude.

ANYWAYS. Question. On how to get pictures to move. Aside from the Devomotion Potion that Ethan and Ruby and Eden and a young Hufflepuff (Norah) mentioned, Grayson didn't know any other methods in which to get a picture to move so, he stayed quiet. Sat back and glanced at Cutty, who was sitting next to him, to see if he had any ideas. Considering the fact that this was a Charms class, he DID expect there to be a charm, too. Would make things dead simple for some people who weren't good at Potions. And he imagined that photographers would find it less time consuming.

Now the REAL question was: which was better, the charm or the Potion?

Yep. The spell he had in mind would be rather useful just as the Professor said. There were a whole lot of better stuff to spend time and energy on rather than chores. Activity? Yes please! Those made classes waaaay fun.

Adi eyed the cameras with curiosity. What were they going to be doing with those? And as for the question...besides the Devomotion Potion which was already mentioned by a few students, the fourth year had wasn't sure what made pictures move. Maybe it was a charm. They were in Charms class after all.

Meh. Cameras. Wait...Cameras weren't bad. Cutty liked cameras and had for an entire year devoted his spare time to taking incriminating photos of people in compromised positions for blackmail. He'd made a bit of money that summeh. Too bad he'd left his mother's camera in British Columbia. Very useful things, cameras could be.

His raised his hand to offer a possible answer, though he thought that Professor Fuller was meaning all methods both magical and non-magical ways of producing moving pictures. "Yer could take a series of still photos and then lay them over each other and capture footage of what they look like as they're being rapidly flipped. Y'know...Animation." Ethan had already mentioned Devomotion potion so he was trying something else.

Uh... Moving pictures? Welp. He had no clue. Unless Fuller was talking about muggle movies because sometimes they called those motion pictures. So wasn't that like the same thing? Then again, Zander doubted that one because they were in charms not muggle studies so it really just seemed highly unlikely. So instead of raising his hand, he just sat and listened to the other answers. Which was really hard for him.

But it seemed like a lot of people were taking a step back on this one. HA. For once he wasn't the only confused one. It felt nice. To not be the only one.

Marigold immediately perked up. Pictures? Like, the moving ones? Were they going to TAKE pictures? Was the homework going to be TAKING PICTURES? Hopefully, right? She was pretty sure there was some sort of potion to make them move, but since this was a CHARMS class… "Is there some sort of animation charm? Animate with some sort of latin ending?" Seemed about right.

... Was Professor a Fuller trying not to laugh at her?

Eh, the whole thing DID sound funny and at least he was trying not to laugh at her. Shrugging it off, she listened to what the man was saying. Oooh, a fun lesson. And they were talking about moving pictures. She could remember doing a tutorial on Wizarding photographs when she had been in Second Year.

That seemed like years ago to her now.

Raising her hand, Lux offered an answer. "I think there is a certain charm used to make the photos move." This was Charms, right....so the answer had to be related to some sort of charm. It was only logical. Shame she could barely remember the actual process of developing the photos during the tutorial.

Hmm now what made the pictures move in their portraits. It had to be some type of charm or maybe a potion of some sorts. He had no idea what it was called but he figured he would give his say so. He raised his hand and said, "Professor I think it is a type of potion you use maybe ending in -oto?" he shrugged. I mean it had to deal with something with photography right?

HAHAHAHAHA.

Oh Eden, could you make it any more obvious? The smirk that was planted on Layla's face as she looked at her dormmate said it all. The girl was so entranced by the Professor she hadn't even answered the question she had just rambled on about her summer or something completely uninteresting in front of the entire class. Talk about embarrassing. Layla had audibly let out a quick giggle but regained herself pretty soon afterwards.

Moving on..

The class sounded right up Sammy's street with all this photography stuff. The Ravenclaw was semi-interested because she liked the idea of moving pictures but she didn't consider them entirely useful in terms of her every day life. She needed the good usable spells like the one she had mentioned in her answer previously. When were they going to learn them?

As for responding to the question quite frankly the blonde had no idea and so kept her mouth shut. She did listen to the others answers though in case some of them were right or if they were as amusing as Eden's had been previously.

"Sequins are easy, sir. I learned 'em from a book after I burnt a hole through Dark Dante's jumper," Dot offered that rather easily, considering the man was mean to Kyroh and she did NOT like that. Or him. But she liked being able to make sequins.

But his question. Might as well answer it, although Kyroh did get a little friendly finger wave in the meantime. Freckle friend? You okay?

Hand up! "Movie camera! The Muggles use 'em."

Caleb had literally NO idea how moving pictures were made. Was he talking about muggle moving pictures? Or the pictures that they took in the wizarding world with cameras? WAY TO NOT BE SPECIFIC! He raised his hand and decided to go with the wizard pictures - because this was NOT muggle studies, after all.

"I'm pretty sure you develop it in some kind of fancy potion. So you could use muggle film and cameras, as long as you go ahead and put it in the potion when you develop it," he explained. So that was nice in a way.

Cameras.

Did NOT like, thank you. Very much did not like. Nope, Heather hated cameras ever since that summer on of her worst frenemies took that picture of her barfing while in line for a ride at an amusement park and showed it to everyone at school. But she did know of one way to make moving pictures. Some people in the class may not get it, though. "Some people take a video, plug it into a website, choose which bit they want and then boom, moving picture."

Well it was hard to tell. Both his mum and his dad had tried to explain it to him but his mum didn't really understand them all that well and his dad, even though he was a muggle, didn't understand it himself. However Cyprien had done his own research but he had a tough time making heads or tails of it. "Don't they use the picture boxes to capture the motion?"...what were those things called...cameras? Yea!! Cameras..."Cameras, don't they use cameras?"

As the students took turns answering, Fuller nodded at each of them. Most of them had a good idea of how it was done. The two most common ways were the potion and the charms, which most of them suggested. Others had suggested animation, which was a muggle thing which meant Fuller had heard of it, but had no idea what it was or how it was done and it was probably much more complicated than magic. Though one of the students mentioned something about videos and a website and he was so lost in her confusing sentence, that she didn’t really get much acknowledgement from him other than a half-nod. This wasn’t Muggle Studies.

”Right, good job. Most of you suggested the development potion and different charms that could potentially work. Since this is charms class, we’re going to be learning one of the charms today.” Fuller walked over to the cart of cameras. ”What we have here are specially designed cameras for the charm we are going to learn. You simply look through the window and press the capture button on the top,” he demonstrated by holding the camera up to his face, looking through the lense at the class and pressing the button down, ”Just like taking any ordinary picture.” And when he let go of the button, the picture slid right out of the bottom of the camera. Fuller grabbed the photo paper and a few seconds later, he showed the class the photo he took of them. But it wasn’t moving.

”Now you’ll notice that the picture isn’t moving yet. That’s where this new charm comes into place.” Fuller set the photo down on his desk and took out his wand. He tapped the photo right in the middle and said, ”Alacer,”. In an instant, the photograph began to move, showing the few seconds during the press of his button. Then he used his wand to make it hover in front of the classroom. ”And voila, a moving picture.”

He then waved his wand at the board to reveal the charm written down

”I want everyone to come up and grab a camera for yourself, there’s plenty to go around. And if you don’t break it by the time you’ve finished, you can keep it.” See? He could be nice. ”Once you have a camera, feel free to pick a partner if you wish, unless you’d like to work by yourself. Take pictures and see if you can get them to move once they’re printed by using the charm.” It was a fairly easy spell, so, it wouldn’t be too hard. ”For full credit, please charm two photos.”

Finally to the practical portion! Sorry it’s been taking so long! For full points, I’ll ask that you make at least FOUR posts, with at least TWO of them containing your character practicing the charm. The other two can be actually taking the picture. This is a pretty activity for you guys, both IC and OOC! Most importantly, have fun!

Ian looked up at the professor as he explained the process. He gathered with the number of repetitive sounding answers that charms was going to be the thing since this wasn't potions class. When the professor mentioned that they could come up and get cameras, Ian walked up to the head of the class. He figured that no one would work with him. Apparently, he no longer had anyone that wanted to work with him and he was slowly adjusting to that. He would have LOVED to work with a partner, but he'll make do. Maybe he could set the camera up on the table and take a picture of himself making silly faces or something. The hard part would be to keep the aperture open long enough to get some motion. He selected one of the cameras and headed back to his seat. Of course, he'd gladly accept a camera partner, but he wasn't counting on it.

He took the opportunity to write the charm down, as well as noting it's purpose and began to practice the incantation.

Norah wrote the incantation down on her parchment and set her quill down, picking up her wand in its place. "Alacer. Alacer. Ah-lay-sur," she muttered under her breath. It didn't seem tooooo hard. The second year vacated her seat and approached the front of the room to get a camera. She returned to her spot and eyed it with interest, because free stuff, yay! Smiling at her new camera friend, Norah found the button she was supposed to press and then set it down on the table. Should she wait for someone to partner up with her or could she just take pictures randomly? Somebody? Anybody? Meep.

It didn't go unnoticed that he hadn't answered her question. Why mention this Gryffindor person when you had no intention of explaining afterwards? It was nonesense at best and left her with even less remorse for the person who...admittedly lost a lot of points if you asked her. People seem to really like taking his points. Must have been a bloody pacifist. Things wouldn't have gone as well if those were HER points...th...at's....for su...re...

It took a moment for the Gryffindor to properly get her bearings and figure out exactly what was happening. Maybe a few more blinks too. What happened? The oddly enchanted feeling she'd had seemed to be slipping away inch by inch until she found herself here. Er.....what in Merlin's beard was she doing perched on Professor Fuller's desk? She...was...just gonna get off...now. What? Alexa tried grasping what the Professor had said but all she got was camera, partner and charming pictures? Everything was still a little blurry.

Headache >__<

How did she get here and what even? With an awkward turn she reached for a camera as everyone else came to get one then she moved to Grayson. "Er...what are we doing?" And why was the room kinda spinning?

As she listened to the professor show them how to take a photo, Elsa eyed the cameras with a concerned look. She hadn't been able to keep her powers under control lately, and she worried about what all her friends would say if she froze a camera right in front of them.

Nevertheless, she headed to get a camera when it was time to and approached one with a bit of hesitation. She squeezed her eyes shut as if it was the most difficult thing she'd ever done. Then she reached forward and grabbed a hold of one.

When she felt her hand on the camera, she opened her eyes and..."It's not frozen!" she exclaimed, a small smile spreading across her face. Camera in hand, she headed back to her work area, careful not to bump into someone in case she accidentally shot ice into their hearts.

"Do you want to build a snowman?" she sang aloud.

Rumple was starting to get annoyed. Didn't they teach the kids anything USEFUL in this school? How on Earth would it be useful to know how to animate PHOTOS? What about the jinxes and hexes? This wasn't useful to anyone, and especially NOT him.

"Will you stop that atrocious singing?!" he snapped at the nearby girl who had started to sing at the top of her lungs. What the heck was SHE on about? Mental patients, all of them.

BUT WAIT.

That song. THAT PHRASE. He'd heard it before! From...THE SNOW QUEEN! GASP! She'd created a disguise - and a clever one as well. He couldn't see her platinum hair, but her blue eyes were obvious and gave her away. That and she didn't seem to notice that she was giving away her identity by talking about FREEZING things! It was almost too perfect!

"YOU! PROFESSOR! Have you not realized that we have a VILLAIN among us?!" Rumplestiltskin demanded, marching up to the man who was conducting this ludacris lesson and pointing at the girl. "Quick! Apprehend her before she freezes the whole school!" he cried.

He would do it but he didn't want to blow his cover!

You know what this lesson was gonna be good for?

Takin' selfies!

Grayson was happy with this turn of events, especially since they got the chance to KEEP the cameras as well. This was shaping up to be a GOOD lesson. He didn't even care if he wasn't that interested in photography, this sounded like an opportunity that was just too cool to pass up. Their own cameras! His mum was hesitant in letting him have a leather jacket, there was no WAY she'd get him a camera of his own. Shame.

Getting up from his seat, the fifth year headed up to the cart of cameras and started rummaging around in them. Not knowin much about cameras, each of the ones in the cart LOOKED the same to him. Picking out one that looked good enough, Grayson was about to head back to his desk and keep an eye out for a partner when..............

................ LOL.

What were they doing? "Did you fall asleep while Fuller was talking?" He wouldn't TELL anyone, of course, but lulz. "We're meant to be taking pictures with these bad boys," he said, holding up the camera, "And then charming them to move. We can work together, if you want." Was she up for taking selfies? Because the Slytherin wanted to see how moving selfies worked before the end of the--

And........... STARE.

What in the freaking name of Merlin was going on with the Newell twins? And why was Caleb calling his own sister a VILLAIN? She was hot enough to be one but STILL. Freaking rude, man.

A Polaroid camera? How vintage was THAT?! No one had used them in like 50 years, maybe even longer. Why on earth did a school like Hogwarts have a supply of them? The fifteen-year-old listened to the Professors instructions intently as she scribbled down some notes onto her parchment for future reference. The blonde was pretty much writing everything down after all considering her exams were this year. She'd certainly been thrown into the deep end.

Before she decided to do anything, the muggleborn knew that she should probably practice the spell beforehand to get it perfectly right. She didn't want any accidents happening like in some other classes. No fire, no ice or whatever. Just her and the correct pronunciation.

If OTHER PEOPLE in the class SHUT UP!

"Seriously?!" she muttered under her breath.

This school was full of MENTAL people. This wasn't a school, it was an institution and Layla had been DUMPED right in the middle of it!

She took a deep breath and STARED at the two imbeciles in the corner, the singing one and the one who thought they clearly ruled the place before turning back to her own spell practicing. You know, doing the thing they were supposed to be doing. Being an actual student! Urgh. She was just starting to like the place until this lot showed up and pretended like they lived in a fairytale or something. It was stupid and she'd had enough after the Head Girl started.

"AH-LAY-SUR" she spoke clearly and loudly over the top of the bloomin' shouting lot. "Alacer" she repeated pretending to tap the table as she did so.
