Default Aparecium Term 32

OOC: This is ENTIRELY IC. As this is the case, in order for gossip to be posted and for your characters to find out the latest, we NEED people who witness things to owl us on this account so it can be reported on. This is to keep everything canon and IC. Please do not post in this thread, that is for us to do.

How do you get a hold of this magical gossip parchment IC? Well that is entirely up to you and be creative with it! Maybe it's under the Giant Squids tongue or clinging onto one of the many Hogwarts statues, or look! Is that the back page of your History of Magic textbook?

Exaggerations may be made on this parchment, but do not take these to heart, this is just for fun. Promise. If you are still unsure of what this is, think of it as a Merlin's beard for more personal plotlines, whereas Merlin's beard is dedicated to the school-wide plot. Hope you all read and enjoy!

P.S This has been staff approved.

P.P.S if you ABSOLUTELY do not want your character mentioned at all, you can PM us and let us know, and we'll do our best to ignore you

If anyone is interested in joining the elite team of Aparecium please shoot a PM to the Aparecium account with a small sample of your writing, we'd really prefer a bit of current gossip if your character can sniff it out IC.

If you do become part of our super secret team, we need a minimum of three articles over the course of the term, that is just one per month. Easy.

We currently have THREE spaces available on the Aparecium team! Those sneaky individuals who contributed last year will need to REAPPLY in the usual way.

The FIRST rule is not to tell anyone that you have an interest in the job, please. The secret is not to let others know it's you.

ooc: Send us some tips! PM the Aparecium account explaining what the goss is, and (if possible) linking us to where it happened.

REMEMBER: if your character does not know IC, either from hearing about it in the RP or actually being there and witnessing it, then they do not know about it and can't report it!

It seems that the summer heat is getting to our little Ravenclaw prefect this summer holiday. Miss Louisa Carter has been seen out and about with fumbling and bumbling Vickers Vanderbilt.

Oh Louisa, don't you ever learn? It seems the seventh year has quite the appetite for boys,: previously being attached to Paulie Foster and Adam Fitzgerald at the same time. The juicy scandal.

And let us not forget her too close relationship with her "best friend" Jonathan Kim.

But this summer, Louisa Carter has her sights set on a certain innocent, quiet Ravenclaw. Our suggestion to you, Mr. Vanderbilt? Run, run while you can.
Although he may be a bit too preoccupied pining after another prefect, one Kurumi Hollingberry. But Hollingberry, as of late, has been too busy being the caboose end of the famous Lewrumi train. Do I sense some drama this term with this tangled web of affection?

Why yes, I think I do.

Mr. Rasting, you best be keeping a tight grip on your lady friend because we all know how hard it was for you to get a hold of her.

As always, keep your heads down and your ears up.

Oh my dears! The drama is already starting to come along nicely, isn't it? For instance that sweet little third year Hufflepuff Ella Bishop, and fourth year Ravenclaw Harvey Watson seem to have found themselves in a little... situation, a situation involving wishes and longing looks across a Florean's table and a Ravenclaw who apparently isn't so quick on the uptake as his house might have you believe.

Doesn't that kid have a girlfriend? He sure does hang around with a lot of girls, you'd think he'd be quicker at figuring them out by now.

Oh and dears, please be sure to give everyone's favorite Hufflepuff Laura Hyde a hug. I've heard that lately a few of her friendships have been a bit on the rocks. She needs our understanding at times like these, because really who wouldn't want to be friends with Laura?

Do the Ravenclaws really have to get that deep when it comes to the topic of romance? Or maybe they want to be crowned as having the best scandal of the year... we don't know, sweetings, but there is one thing that we could be sure, that is... we have news from the eagles once again.

It seems like Miss Beezus Castell has finally tasted the sweetness and the sourness of first love with Mr Dylan. Hugs and cheek kisses. Wow, fantastic! All we can say is: Congratulations! Good luck not getting your heart broken like we heard your best friend Indiana Hutchinson did. By that boy you're dating. Friends to the end in Ravenclaw!

One more thing before the summer ends...do people really have to have crushes on prefects? Word in the alley is that Mr Elijah Wilde has his eyes on our dear Gryffindor prefect. Oh come on, Mr Rasting, you should know by now that she likes more than just cookies and good grades. Best keep an eye on her.

What is it about Knockturn Alley?

The infamous street is dirty and has a rather disturbing smell, and yet the ickle Hogwarts students can’t seem to stay away. We’ll admit that it wouldn’t surprise us to spot a few snakes lurking down those dark steps, but it appears every house has a few foolhardy souls in their ranks.

Disturbing enough is seeing fifth year Slytherin Frannie Rutherford, third year Hufflepuff Rose White, third year Hufflepuff Laure Hyde, and seventh year Gryffindor Arabella-Marie Kingston traipsing about the entrance to the street as if on their way to a Muggle haunted house. They may pretend to be walking on the wild side by accident, but don’t be fooled… those girls are looking for trouble. We hope they don’t find it.

Surely you're all up to date on current events and have read a thing or two in the Prophet concerning our wonderful school? Well for those of you who find the staid business of elections to be not so interesting, riddle me this:

Why is it that the daughter of the president of the Board of Governors has transferred to Hogwarts for her final year? Could there be a spy in our midsts?
After all, Madame President, the new Headmistress, and the Senior Undersecretary aren't exactly making the rounds are they? Last seen making themselves comfortable in the cushy Prefects compartment, its only the slightly cuckoo Lainey who has seen fit to oh how did they put it? “re-experience the train ride”. Could it be that new 7th year Viviana Branxton is the one tasked to rub shoulders with those of us who aren't related to the Minister of Magic?

Speaking of the President, she was seen on the platform paying off second year broom-destroyer West Odessa, who our sources say was calling her 'Aunt Cece'. More nepotism?

Paying him off to do what, exactly?

The Daily Prophet has nothing on us.

So what do werewolves, vampires, and Aspen Odessa have in common? They all BITE people, thats what. It seems as though Miss Odessa seems to think that she can get away with just about anything and that includes biting people on the train. She was spotted gnawing on Hufflepuff Elijah Wilde's arm like a piece of dragon jerky. But the plot thickens my dears! Mr Wilde then latched his teeth onto Gryffindor Prefect Kurumi Hollingberry's arm! Mr Wilde, we know you fancy the girl, but a love bite? Or is there something more sinister at work here?

Lycanthropy, my dears. Lycanthropy. Perhaps there is some sort of Odessa Infection being spread around by Miss Aspen and her biting. A gene that causes a person to believe that they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

Mr Wilde was later seen strutting into the prefect's compartment pretending to be Hufflepuff Prefect Lewis Rasting and somehow managed to convince Ravenclaw Vickers Vanderbilt to go alone with his scheme as Ravenclaw Prefect Spike Hutchinson.

Are these actions a direct result of the Odessa Infection? Was this yet another attempt of Mr. Wilde's to woe the Gryffindor? Has the once innocent Mr. Vanderbilt also fallen victim to this biting spree!? Take some advice from this goddess and don't bite off more than you can chew. Hogwartians.

It is our understanding that leaders are picked for showing one major characteristic: LEADERSHIP. We realize that seems a bit redundant, but after the abysmal performance of the student leaders following the strange events on the Hogwarts Express… perhaps a reminder is in order:

Dear Prefects and Quidditch Captains,
You weren’t chosen for this job because you’re the meanest or the prettiest or even for having the best swagger. We might admire those things about you, but that isn’t the job. So, for the sake of Circe, when the train halts and the first years end up in a bloody pile, stop patting yourselves on the back long enough to help a kid out.

We see you’re the first to leave the train, Gideon Gert. We see you making kissy faces alone in the carriages and ignoring everyone else, Sierra Greingoth and Kennedy Escalante. We see you, Milton Shacklebolt, demanding cookie compensation for your help.

When first years are patching themselves up… well. That’s a sad state of affairs that speaks for itself.

It seems that old is the operative word being thrown around campus this term by one Marion Burbage. She has been seen in her classes taking away a vast number of points for the use of that one word. A little touchy about the subject there, Professor?

Not to worry, though. You can always lie about your age. Vindictus has been for years. Come on Vindy, no one believes you are that young anymore. Everyone sees the wrinkles.

However, we are sad to report that a little love connection is not in the works for Burbage and Vindictus because Burbage is quite fond of Hufflepuff, Elijah Wilde. He's a little young for Burbage, don't you think? Then again, she's too young for Sir Isaac Newton. No matter what Gryffindor Penelope Greenwell says.

Until next time, dears, keep your heads down and your ears up.

Move over Laura Hyde! There is a new terror strutting the corridors of Hogwarts these days! Seems like the title of Hufflepuff terror has been taken oven by second year Alexa Chan.

We got our first glance of this at the opening feast where she called out Healer Tillstorm for being a big meanie pants. Just because you speak the truth, young Hufflepuff, does not mean you will be rewarded. Alexa waved good bye to more points in Astronomy for "insuuuuuuuuuuuuulting perhaps the greeeeeeeeeatest and most influentiaaaaaaaaaaal scientist who ever lived."

Just where will this finder of trouble strike next? We think she should go tell the new Headmistress that her shoes are out of season.

But wait! What has become of Miss Laura? Has she turned soft on us? Could it be that her relationship with fellow Hufflepuff Oakey Gunter is to thank for this good behavior? Or is there trouble in Pufferland for these two? They haven't been seen together much these days...

Could it be that Oakey is a heart (and we have heard, arm) breaker?! And I always thought that he was a sweet and innocent little Hufflepuff.

DADA class is not for you if:
1) You aren't flexible.
2) You can't think of more than one answer to the Yoga-lady's questions.
3) You're scared of women.
4) You think that throwing shoes is a good idea.
5) The dark makes you jumpy.
Might be time to start jogging on the spot, like that one kid, maybe then you'll have a head start when the next bout of chaos breaks out and you need to run away.
Or else risk being tangled up in your own yoga-twisted limbs.
Bragi out.

Once upon a time Ariana Logan met Theodore Kinsley.

And then she began irritating captain Dylan Montmorency.

Clearly someone has a thing for Slytherin Quidditch Players.

We wish the Lafay poisoner luck in her endeavours.
