Ella smiled. "No worries, I got hold of this one right before the vines got loose. Plus, I probably wouldn't have been able to hold them at all! They are so strong." Like freakishly strong and dangerous. Alyssa's cheek and Ella's arm were proof of that. Ella stood up, dusting off her robes. She could not even believe she had just done that, reaching into the hole of a beastly plant that was trying to attack her and her teammates. And to think her mom wouldn't even let her help with the rose bushes because of the thorns! Ella looked back to Alyssa who was still speaking to them. "Yeah, what's one more..." she said with a shrug, looking in Beatrice's direction. "You ready to rumble with this-this thing?" Ella said, glancing back at the plant.

Minerva smiled at Harvey and put on her gloves. "You look nervous." She looked at the plant. "Ok if you can go up behind it and hold the vines or even try to tie them I will stick my hand in to get the pod. Does that sound ok?"

Harvey looked from the plant to Minnie as she said that he looked nervous.. she knew him too well he thought.. just looking at him she could tell that he was nervous.. "Er... yeah I.. I am." he said as she instructed him to go behind the plant and hold the vines or tie them so that she could get the pod "Yep sounds good to me.." he said.. he then looked at the plant and mentally prepared himself.. he then walked towards the plant and jumped out of the way of its vines before grabbing a hold of them and holding them... he was not confident that they would stay tied up so better to hold them.. there.. that was done.. Minnie could now get the pod "Mins.. if you are ready.. you can grab the pod" he said to her smiling as he held onto the vines so that she could have easy access to the pod

Making your own luck. Oakey shook his head in agreement to this. Although the type of luck he always seemed to be making was the bad kind.

Kurumi didn't know what had happened to him the year he missed his second term. He he spent a year away from Hogwarts learning to repress his allergic reaction to the Mackled Malaclaw bite during the summer. He was uncertain if he would tell Kurumi as well. If she was a strong believer in making her own luck she would she understand what Oakey had gone through.

No, I don't think I'll want to be ready. He said extremely nervous starring at the the Snargaluff to his left. But I have to do it don't I He put his gloves back on his hands one of which still had a cold feeling to it from their previous exercise with the fire seeds. He ignored it though because all he had swirling in his mind were all the different ways a Snargaluff could eat him, each with Jacob involved in some way. D-D-D-Do it.

Angelina looked around the greenhouse in wonder who could be in her group. As she looked around she saw Lily who asked to be in a group with her and maybe Taylor. Smiling she said, "Yeah that would be great!" Angelina saw Taylor come up to her and Lily and said, "Hey Taylor." Turning to Lily she nodded, "Sure that would be fine." She didn't mind what she did, she just was worried if she was the one putting her hand in the plante it wont go right, but she would just see what happens. Also she wasn't to sure what was suppose to happen when you put your hand in the plant. Was there something you are suppose to pull out? As she watch Taylor put on her gloves it reminded her if she had hers on, and she did. Angleina wore her gloves the whole classtime so nothing to worry about. Turning to Taylor and Lily once they were ready she said, "I don't mind what part I do."

Kurumi tugged on her dragonhide gloves and looked at Oakey when he repeated her words. Something told her that there was more behind his voice than he was letting onto, but she figured that he was just really nervous. Kurumi could hardly blame him after what that nut job of a Quidditch captain had done to the poor kid in his first year. Kurumi was still in shock that he hadn't been punished more. Even more proof that that Vindicus was insane as well.

She laughed light heatedly, still trying to ease the obvious tension. "Alright, here we go," Kurumi winked as she stepped up to the Snargaluff. She thought that the plant would have been more mellow now that it had dealt with several groups of students but...that didn't seem to be the case. As soon as Kurumi stepped towards it, the Snargaluff's vines slowly crept out and reached in the direction of her and Oakey. Instinctively, Kurumi held out her right arm to form a small barrier between Oakey and the plant. Okay...not as easy as she hoped this was going to be.

With her left hand, she fumbled in her robe's pockets for her red handkerchief. Once she had found it, Kurumi pulled it out and waved it in the general direction of the plant. "Come on...come on...take the bait..." she whispered, waving it around a little more violently now. Several vines swerved away from the pair and focused on the handkerchief. 3...2...1....NOW!

Kurumi tossed it into the air and the Snargaluff seemed to momentarily forget about Kurumi and Oakey as it chased after the falling red fabric. Taking advantage of the situation. Kurumi grabbed the vines and twisted them around one another like one toes with twine to make rope. "Alright, I think I've got them," Kurumi called over her shoulder, unbeknownst to her that there was one more vine now slowly creeping its way out of the stump and towards the back of her head.

Tay smiled, "I don't care what i do either." She laughed and sent a glance over to the plant things they were suppose to pull a plant out of. Taylor couldn't remember much of what happened this lesson so hopefully Lily and Angelina could refresh her memory.

"Do you just want to start and see what happen and what part we go into?" Angelina asked mostly Taylor and also Lily.

Lily watched as her friends discussed what role they were going to play. However it was their turn now. "We should start now. I'll take the right side vines. Taylor, maybe you should take the left side vines so that Angelina can try to get the pod." Lily was ready to go, and waiting would just make her more nervous. "Are you ready?" Lily asked getting closer to the snargaluff. Heading towards the right side of the plant, Lily tried to think of how to hold them without getting shredded.

Minerva watched as Harvey went and grabbed the vines and held them gently but firmly so she could stick her hand in the hole. She felt her heart race and her nervous started to jump up. She took a deep breath and put her right hand down inside the plant. She felt around for the pod. She felt something scratch her arm. "Ouch, Harvey I have to take my hand out, the minute I do get back. Ok on the count of three. 1, 2, 3" Minerva pulled out her hand quickly without the pod and hurried backwards.

Harvey held onto the vines and watched as Minnie nervousily went upto the plant and took a deep breath before she stuck her hand inside the plant.. man she was a brave girl to be doing that.. he looked around.. what if people saw this.. a girl was sticking her hand inside while the boy was holding the plant vines.. didnt look right.. but oh well he couldnt change it now.. so he watched as she felt around for the pod when she said ouch.. Harvey looked wide-eyed and Minnie.. was she ok? what had happened? he thought and then she instructed him.. that she had to take her hand out and that on the count of 3 she would pull her hand out and he was to get back.. he nodded "Ok.. on the count of 3" he said as Minnie counted to 3.. she pulled her hand out.. no pod and Harvey let go and was about to get back.. when one of the vines hit him and left a scratch on his face.. he jumped back further "Ow!! hey!.. no need for that.. we havent got it yet" he said to the plant as nicely as he could.. he could have yelled at it.. but most likely professor Bentley would have then yelled at him.. for yelling at the plant. Well that would mean another attempt since they had no pod. "You ready for round 2 with the plant?" he asked her as he got ready to hold those vines again.. while she went in.

And that was perhaps one of the most lethal and vicious encounter she ever had in her whole life. Alright, she was just bluffing a bit. Not that lethal but dangerous indeed. She kinda stood rooted to the spot as her team mates fought the lashing vines of the Snargaluff. All she could do was help stop some vines so that the two could move out as Ella had grabbed the pod.

A few scratches weren't that avoidable. But that was fine with her, given the circumstances, she was also planning to really go to the Hospital Wing and ask the Healer for some medicine. As the two of them ran to a safe distance, Beezus pointed her wand at the plant just in case it would get violent. But thankfully, it did not. That meant they were safe. "Guess we didn't need to stun it." She told her group mates.

Just then..the two planned on getting another pod. Beezus thought for a while. Professor Bentley told them to only get one right? Before they could get closer to the plant again, she paced ahead of the two. "Waiiiiiiiiit! Professor Bentley said to only get A pod." she looked at the Professor who was also busy helping their other classmates. "And that means one. One would be enough for one group I suppose. I mean, there are still many groups around so its fine if we'd only have one." she told them. Granted there were still some groups there who were still waiting in line and didn't have their turn yet.

"I'm ready to tackle this thing again. I think that I've got my second wind. My arms are getting achy and sore from holding on, as well as, struggling with these vines, but I think that I can manage, if someone, helps to hold the vines this time. Are either one of you up to doing that?" Alyssa asked.

But then she heard Beatrice remind them what the Professor had told them. "Oh yeah she did say a pod. So I guess we're done with the assignment. Time to let someone else tackle it. Thanks again for working with me, Ella and Beatrice. I definitely would not have been able to do it on my own."Alyssa thanked both her group members.

A bit nervous Angelina nodded towards Lily and said, "Lets just go." She was a bit worried about putting her hand in that plant... what if something went wrong? She knew she wouldn't die or get her arm cut off but still if worried her a bit, she didn't like putting her hand in things.. With a whisper she turned to Lily and asked, "What am I suppose to be doing with the pod again?" She was a bit worried it blew her mind of what was going on.

Oakey dropped to his knees in front of the Snargaluff watching Kurumi as she successfully twisted the vines around one another. I might not choose my own luck well but I sure can choose a great partner. Oakey thought to himself.

Watching Kurumi in action had almost distracted Oakey as the Snargaluff's mouth opened wide. Oakey quickly noticed this and dove his right hand into the plant. He felt the large pod on the inside and grasped onto it! As he was pulling the pod slowly out of the plant he looked to Kurumi once more and saw a stray vine inching it's way up behind her. Kurumi! Oakey yelped to get her attention, but it had also gotten the attention of the vine!

The thorny plant tentacle shot itself around Oakey's right elbow and pulled it out of it's mouth slightly lifting himself off his knees. Oakey's grip loosened and he dropped the pod back into the Snargaluffs mouth. Oakey's face turned a pale white when he saw images the Crazy Ravenclaw Captain laughing a maniacal laughter. Merlin! This is it! Are you Happy Jacob!?!?! Are you Happy?!?! You got what you wanted! I'm finally going to be plant food! Shaking his head furiously the image of Jacob disappeared and Oakey laid eyes on the evil plant once more!

With his right arm extended into the air by the one vine, dripping small drops of blood onto the ground behind him as the vine tightened it's thorny grip around him. Oakey dove his left arm into the Snargaluff, his fingertips just grazing the top of it's pod.

Taylor nodded and went over to the left of the plant. She took the left vines and tied them like the teacher suggested so that it would be easier to keep hold of them. Tay had no clue what they were suppose to be doing so she just stood quietly holding back the vines Lily said to hold back.

Angelina nodded and waited tell Lily and Taylor said it was alright to start. She was staring at the Snargaluff. Apparently she was supppose to extract a pod from a Snargaluff, she wasn't to sure how to do that. Does she just place her hand in it and find a pod?

Group work?! Argh. Sierra hated group work. Why couldn't they just do this alone, like in any other normal activity? Oh, ...right. Snargaluffs. Sierra was pretty much stuck looking for a group by the point, as it seemed everyone had already moved into groups of two or three. "Does anyone need another group member?" she asked. Ugh. That felt strange, like she was begging for friends or something.

Lily saw that Taylor rushed up and grasped the left vines. Lily hustled up to grab the right side. As she did so, she missed grabbing one of the vines that ended up striking her right over her left eyebrow, leaving behind a small cut. Lily backed away briefly before going back at it. Wrestling the vines to try and keep them away, Lily muttered, "Ok...(grunt) go ahead Angelina, you can go for the pod..." Lily wasn't sure how to get them tied up like Taylor had done, so she just tried to hold them back using brute force.

Ella nodded, happy that they hadn't had to stun the plant. Sure it was a dreadful thing but she didn't want to hurt it-alot. She fist pumped when Beatrice told them that they only needed one. She let out a relieved sigh, smiling from ear to ear. "Phew! I would have went at it again but that thing was vicious! I'm pretty happy we only need one." She listened as Alyssa thanked them and she felt the same, she wouldn't have been able to do the task without the help of the two other girls. "Yeah, thanks you guys. It took all three of us to get this thing!" Ella said, holding the pod out gingerly. "I'll just go and give it to Professor Bentley."


Ella walked over to the Professor, handing her the pod with a face expressing how happy she was to be rid of it. "Here Professor. Alyssa, Beatrice and I are done..." She smiled weakly and returned to the group, smiling. "Alrighty, guess we can go back to the castle now!"

Taylor looked up in time to see her friend get cut over her eyebrow, "Are you ok Lily?" She kept wrestling with the vines that were trying to get untied. Tay almost lost them for a bit but she regained control.

Minerva looked at the scratch on her arm. "Hold on let me take a breather." she walked around a bit trying to calm her nerves. She thought about how nice it would be to stun this plant, but she would never think about doing that and getting into trouble. She took one last breath and turned back to Harvey. "OK Harvey I'm ready go ahead and hold the vines."

Kennedy stood and then heard one of the students mention that she didn't have a partner. He motioned her with his hand to join Butterfly and his group. "You're welcome to join us if you'd like," he offered.

Three were better than two.

"We did," he nodded. "I wasn't sure if you remembered me," he said, smiling sheepishly. Kennedy wasn't used to being remembered. Oh, she was a brave one going after the vines. This made the prefect feel proud of his fellow snake.

"So," he said, turning to both girls. "Butterfly is going to hold off the vines, would you like to hold the vines off or go for the pod?" he asked (Jessiqua).

Harvey saw as she looked at the scratch on her arm.. and a thought came to him.. how could he be so stupid!! this is why she was happier with Justin.. he thought as Minnie took a breather trying to calm her nerves.. he watched her as he was concerned.. he was about to go over and make sure she was ok.. when she turned back to him and said that she was ready and that he should hold the vines.. he hesitated for a moment should he go to her and make sure she was ok... or should he proceed to hold the vines of the plant he thought.. before he decided to listen to her.. she would probably get upset at him if he didnt listen to her and he didnt want that.. so he turned to the plant and got ready.. and he walked towards it.. and a vine came towards him and he missed grabbing it as it scratched his shoulder.. he put a hand to it as he looked at it.. and he saw another vine come so this time he was ready and grabbed it and went to the plant to grab the other.. he held them gently as he waited for Minnie to put her hand in there and grab the pod. "Ok Mins.. when you are ready." he said to her. letting her know he had the vines safely in his grasp.

Angelina looked up at Lily in worry about the vine leaving a cut over her left eyebrow, "You alright?" Taking a deep breath and letting it out she looked at the Snargaluff alright she was ready. Kneeling down she placed her hand in the Snargaluff and tried to search a little for the pod. When she finally found it with her hand she started to grabe it and pull it out. Once she finally pulled it out of the Snargaluff she looked at the pod and her hand, which was a little scrached from a vine nearby but nothing major she would live!
