Hecate seemed in somewhat a better mood. She had a few bags on one side of the room and she was looking at an old photograph. A very young Hecate Lafay in emerald and silver, on a broom wielding a beaters bat and a handsome young man, on a broom beside her guarding the goal hoops. She was twirling the bat above her head, cheering, and the boy was pumping his fist in the air.
It was her first championship win. Third Year.
She tucked the photo in her desk, opened the classroom, and waited for her students to file in.
ooc: This class will stay open for at least 72 hours (probably more.) Also thanks to Antarctica! for taking the picture of the Potions Classroom for me at the WWoHP, and to Ameh for makin it into a pretty graphic!
"Now keep your gloves on... You want to take three billywig stingers and drop them in the moving water." She said going back to her cauldron and dropping her stingers.
Angelina took the three billywig stingers and dropped them into the cauldron with the moving water like professor had said.

Although she knew her gloves were securely on her hands, Sierra instinctively pushed each one up as far as it would go. Just the thought of a billywig stinger made her a little uneasy, but she trusted Lafay with everything in her. Brewing also called for risks, and whining about them was for wimps.
She picked up three of the stingers, all the while thinking about the consequences of getting pierced with one of the things. It caused a person to float, and if they got stung too many times, they'd float forever. She imagined that sort of situation would put you in Mungo's for life.
She peered into her cauldron and watched as the three stingers hit the mixture and blended into it. She kept her eyes on them a little longer then glanced back up at Lafay.

Amethyst put on her gloves and took up three Dransul leaves and placed one into her mortar. She crushed the leaves until acid came out. With her dropper, she dropped three drops of acid into the cauldron, just before she made the stirrer turn three times counterclockwise.

Ame took three billywig stringers and dropped them into the water as it moved. She chuckled softly to herself. Billywig--sounds silly.

Ronnie was surprised by herself more than anything, her magic had been so weak since her dad died, almost as if it was leaving her. She smiled when she realized it was still there and prepared to move onto the next step.
Ronnie quickly got up from her stool, trip, caught herself on the edge of her table, looked around to make sure no one was watching and then got 2 cups of elf made wine. Poored it an and looked down, she wished potions could make themselves some times.
Now to put on the gloves...umm...well...did she bring her gloves?? Searching her bag...yes she did, applying them first to her right and then to her left she secured them. Okay..what was the last bit again...She got 3 leaves of the ugly looking plant, placed on in her motar and crushed it....She then added one..two..three drops to her potions and stirred 3 times counter clockwise.
Okay, she was finally almost caught up, She then took three billywig stingers and drop them in the moving water...wait her water wasn't moving anymore..."Umm...Professor..what happens if your water stopped moving????"
Hecate looked at the student. "Then you did something wrong." She said and then moved to look at the water. She cast evanesco on the girl's cauldron. "Start over..." She said coldly.
She then went to her own cauldron. "The last step is simple. By now your potion should be a deep burgundy colour. Hold your wand pointing in the center of the Cauldron and you will draw a spiral with it in an upward motion. The incantation is Agitatem." She raised her hand. "Immediately after that you have a matter of seconds. Cast the Glacius spell to put out the flame and cool the cauldron as quickly as you can. The potion will continue to move on it's own."
She pointed her wand and performed the Agitatem spell, then the Glacious in almost one fluid motion. "Now you all."

Simple? Kourtney peered into her cauldron, noting that the potion indeed as a deep burgundy color. Okay, so she had done that correctly, but she wasn't sure if these spells were going to be as successful.
Drawing a deep breath, she closely watched the professor perform both spells on the cauldron. Okay...Agitatem...and Glacious. Agitatem...and Glacious. She repeated the words several times before raising her wand. She hoped this worked because she did NOT want to have the professor make her potion disappear and she had to start all over again.
She pointed her wand down towards the center of the cauldron, concentrated hard, shutting out all other distractions, and then swirled it quickly upwards in a spiral while saying "Agitatem!" Immediately, she pointed her wand again and said "Glacious!" without bothering to see if the initial spell had worked. The first spell sounded a lot like 'agitate' and she figured that was the actual purpose of the spell. Much easier to use magic than to agitate by hand.
Kourt lowered her wand and peered into her cauldron, breathing a silent sigh of relief as she noticed her potion still moving on its own.
Aurora nodded, concentrating. Wooo! Her potion was burgundy!!
She took her wand and, pointing it in the centre of her cauldron, drew a spiral upwards saying, confidently, "Agitatem." Then, as quickly as she dared, cast a Glacius spell to put out the fire under her cauldron and cool it. Oh please, please, pleaseeeee let that be fast enough. Well, the potion was still moving... hopefully that was correct...
Hecate looked at the student. "Then you did something wrong." She said and then moved to look at the water. She cast evanesco on the girl's cauldron. "Start over..." She said coldly.

Oh Merlin help us, that's not simple(!!), MJ thought, but she didn't dare say it out loud! First, she checked that her potion was the right colour Deep Burgundy. With a self-satisfied smile, MJ made the spiral with her wand like the Professor had (although with nowhere near the finesse that Professor Lafay had!), muttering "Agitatem!" as she did so. MJ went straight into putting out her earlier incendio spell with a cry of "Glacius!" A quick check told her that her potion was still moving by itself, as it should be. Right, cooling the cauldron more, she thought. It was too heavy to pull off without spilling it everywhere and she wasn't going to risk that in here!! In the end, she settled for firing bursts of "Aguamenti!" water at the cauldron's exterior, until it was cool enough for her to touch. Flustered and panting, MJ was officially worn out. Devomotion Potion was stressful and complicated!!

Alyssa quickly noted down in her journal the next steps to making the potion.
Text Cut: Alyssa's journal
Ingredients:
Water
2 cups Elf-made wine vinegar
three leaves from the Dransul plant
three billywig stingers
Steps
1. First put water into the cauldron using Aguamenti spell.
2. Light fire under cauldron. Keep heat on low.
3. Pour vinegar slowly into the cauldron
4. Put on gloves and take three leaves from the Dransul plant
5. Clean out mortar.
6. Take one of the leaves.
7. Crush into mortar until acid from leaves comes out.
8. Take dropper and suck up the three drops of acid
9. Add acid into cauldron and stir 3 time counter clockwise.
10. Keeping gloves on take 3 billywig stinger and place them in the cauldron of water.
11. Hold wand pointing in the center of cauldron and draw a spiral in an upward motion while saying Agitatem.
12. Then immediately cast the Glacius spell to put out flame and cool down cauldron quickly. Need to do this fast.
13. Potion should continue to move on it's own.
Alyssa looked down into her cauldron. The potion did have a deep burgundy color to it. "Okay now for the last step". Alyssa quickly checked her notes to make sure what both incantations would be. Memorizing it in her mind, she picked up her wand, pointed it into the center of her cauldron and drew a spiral with it in an upward motion while saying "Agitatem". Quickly taking out her wand, she immediately pointed her wand at the flame under her cauldron and cast the Glacius spell to put it out. The flame went out immediately and she could see that the potion was starting to cool down quickly. She then peeked into the cauldron to make sure that the potion was still moving on it's own. It was!! "Yes!,"Alyssa thought to herself.

Ronnie looked at the professor and scowled. She HATED when they did that, shouldn't the just be able to fix it. She sighed, rolled her eyes, and pulled out her wand ready to start over....that's if she had enough time to even begin to finish this potion.
She repated the exact same steps as before, cleaning, filling, starting a fire. Adding the ingriendents in the exact right order and this time her water continued to move...good. She added the last ingrident and looked down at her potion....okay...well it was exactly burgundy, but maybe more like blood.
Well here's goes nothing she sighed and pulled her wand out hoping that she could do this. "Agitatem" she said dropping her wand after she reached the top of the spiral....and hurried to grab it..she only had second. She quickly said "Glacius". A mater of five seconds elpased between her first and second spell...would that be too much time? She wondered.

Lafay thought this part was simple? What if Tori had never used those spells before?! HUH? What THEN?
Regardless, and grunting softly to herself, the redhead peered into her wand and beamed at the bright burgundy color of it all. Good. She pointed her wand into the center of the cauldron and moved it in a spiral motion, muttering, "Agitatem," as she did so. Moving quickly, she then raised her wand and pointed it at the flames beneath the cauldron.
"Glacius!" she cast quickly, hoping the spell would cool the cauldron down. It had put out the flames at least.

Louisa watched Lafay carefully. Once they were addressed, she looked down at her own cauldron. It was... burgundy, a bit lighter than dark in the girl's eyes but she wasn't going to point that out HEH, the professor could evanesco it and she'd have to start over. No. Way.
Deciding that it was the perfect color, the Ravenclaw pointed her wand from above toward the cauldron's center and doing a spiral movement she murmured, "Agitatem.." then quickly and louder, "Glacius!" Almost shouting it. The cauldron made a very low sizzling sound and then was mute again. Louisa wanted to touch it but didn't get the nerves, she did not trust HER potions that much. But it was still moving! Rather slowly and with some jerks or bubbles if you may, but it was movement!
Hecate looked at the student. "Then you did something wrong." She said and then moved to look at the water. She cast evanesco on the girl's cauldron. "Start over..." She said coldly.

Nessie looked at the inside of her cauldron and picked up her wand and pointed it at her cauldron.
"Agitatem." After calling out her incantation she immediatly started on the next. "Glacius." The flame suddenly shut off and the cauldron cooled down.

Two Cups of Elf mad wine
Three Dransul plant leaves
Three Billywig Stingers
PROCEDURE
Step One: Clean Cauldron
Step Two: Fill in water
Step Three: Set a low fire
Step Four: Add two cups of Elf made wine
Step Five: Crush three Dransul plant leaves until the acid comes out
Step Six: Add three drops of acid
Step Seven: Stir three times counter clockwise
[B]Step Eight:[B] Drop three billywig stings into the moving liquid
Step Nine: Point to center of cauldron and make a spiral with an upward motion while saying incantation 'Agitatem'
Step Ten: Quickly perform the Glacius spell to cool down the flames
Wow. This seems like such a short potion compared to the other ones, like the polyjuice potion. This potion needs only three ingredients besides water and fire.
Victoria checked to see if the potion is the right color. Yep. Then, she took out her wand and pointed to the center of her cauldron, and then made a spirally swirl as she motioned upward, just like the instruction had said. "Agitatem!" said Victoria loudly and clearly. Then quickly after that, Victoria performed the last step. "Glacius!" The fire under the cauldron started to cool down.
Louise was deep in though, she quickly took notes while the teacher was talking, she was not good with magic, but she had to try, she picked up her wand and shouted Agitatem, then quickly as the first she shouted "Glacius, she looking down at her cauldron the flames were gone, her cauldron was cool, she smiled she had done it right,
She then went to her own cauldron. "The last step is simple. By now your potion should be a deep burgundy colour. CLEAN CAULDRON (make sure teacher is looking when you do it!)
Start with water on a low flame.
Add two cups of Elf-made wine vinegar (slowly!)
Put on dragon-hide gloves and retrieve three leaves from the Dransul plant (looks like a football)
Crush one leaf in mortar until acid from comes out (3 drops)--BE CAREFUL!
Use dropper to collect acid & add 3 drops to cauldron.
Stir 3 times counter-clockwise
Keeping gloves on, take 3 billywig stingers and drop in the moving water.
Note:Potion should now be deep burgundy colour
Point wand into center of cauldron; draw spiral with it in upward motion, while saying: Agitatem.
IMMEDIATELY (within seconds) cast the Glacius spell to put out flame; cauldron must cool down as quickly as possible
Note:Potion should continue to move on its own
Violet watched and listened carefully as Professor Lafay explained, then performed the last steps. She practised both incantations, as well as the wand movement, several times before trying it on the potion for real (besides, she was still just a nick behind from the incident at the beginning of class). When she felt she was ready, she leaned over her cauldron and saw that it was a beautiful, deep burgundy colour. She pointed her wand into the center of the cauldron, spiraled it upward, and said the incantation: "Agitatem!"; immediately she turned her wand to point at the fire beneath it and said, "Glacius!" She paused, took a deep breath, and peered once again into her cauldron to see the potion was still moving. Success!

Sky took a quick look at her potion. Yep, it was burgundy in color! She then cast "Agitatem!" with her wand pointed in the center of her cauldron drawing a spiral with it in an upward motion, following Professor Lafay's demonstration exactly. Sky almost immediately cast the "Glacius!" spell and watched as the fire beneath her cauldron went out, but the potion kept moving.

Salima got out her caludron, it looked clean but just to make sure she took out her wand and pointed it towards the cauldron and said 'Scourgify.' Salima had practiced this spell in herbology so she now knew how to do this well. When the cauldron was finally clean once agin she pointed her wand to the cauldron and muttered 'Aguamenti...' yet nothing, so she tried again 'Aguamenti...Aguamenti...Aguamenti' finally a jet of water squirted out of her wand into the cauldron.
She now had to light a fire Salima was worried at this because she had never tried this charm before...but it was worth a go 'Incendio' she said and a flame appereard under her cauldron.
'Now this time Salima' she thought to herself 'the water should not stop moving.'
Hecate looked at the student. "Then you did something wrong." She said and then moved to look at the water. She cast evanesco on the girl's cauldron. "Start over..." She said coldly.

Professor Lafay had no tolerance now did she? Kennedy ignored her and listened to the next set of instructions. He peered down into his cauldron and saw that indeed his potion was now burgundy. He pointed his wand at the center of his cauldron. He did the wand movement and said, "Agitatem." Then he quickly pointed his wand at the flames. "Glacius," he said. Instantly, the flames were out.

Okay.. honestly that didn't really sound simple. First, double checking her potion Desiree saw it was a deep burgundy. check. She wasn't too sure about the spell though, what happened if they weren't quick enough..? To be safe she practiced it in her head, Agitatem, Agitatem, Agitatem.

Quickly, as in very quick, Erin muttered firmly "Glacius!" The flame was gone and Erin hoped the cauldron cooled out. Taking a peek at her potion, the potion was still moving.
