Hecate seemed in somewhat a better mood. She had a few bags on one side of the room and she was looking at an old photograph. A very young Hecate Lafay in emerald and silver, on a broom wielding a beaters bat and a handsome young man, on a broom beside her guarding the goal hoops. She was twirling the bat above her head, cheering, and the boy was pumping his fist in the air.
It was her first championship win. Third Year.
She tucked the photo in her desk, opened the classroom, and waited for her students to file in.

August then felt the warm contents of Professor Lafay's cauldren empty over his head; his dark curls matting down to his head and face and his robes getting soaked. "P-P-Professor..." he started and just looked at her as if she had punched him in the face; might as well have. He didn't know what to say. He had NEVER been treated like that by anyone before, much less a Professor. He HATED her.
He cleaned up the mess around the floor that she had made and then tried to dry himself off the best he could; he unfortunately didn't know any drying spells. Now he had to continue with the rest of class like this. The Gryffindor was tempted to leave but then Lafay would win.
Walking forward, Auggie went and yanked leaves off of the plant like he was instructed and pulverized them angrily in his mortar. He then used the dropper from his potions set and dropped the acid secreated from the leaves into the potion and then stirred the three times in the counter clockwise direction.

Oh nooooooo. That was awful. Poor August. Tori shook her head as she watched Lafay dump an entire cauldron over the boy's head. It wasn't his fault she didn't follow her own directions! Tori sighed as she put on her gloves and then moved forward to pick three Dransul leaves.
As Tori passed by August's cauldron, however, she paused and whispered the incantation to the drying spell. Why not help a friend out, eh. As soon as the boy's hair was starting to spring back into curly form, Tori smiled secretly at him and then continued on her way to the plant.
She made it back to her desk without incident and started crushing the leaves very very finely. Funny how all those leaves only made three drops of acid. Tori extracted the acid with her dropper and slowly added it to her bubbling potion.
So far, so good. She stirred three times counter-clockwise and then waited for more instructions, as usual.

Sierra bit her bottom lip to keep from laughing when Lafay decorated the Gryffindor boy's head with a cauldron of ingredients. In the end, when Sierra released her bottom lip, she smirked in the boy's general direction. That right there was why Lafay was her hero. Sierra turned to Lafay with a very pleased smile before returning her focus to her cauldron.
She slipped her gloves on then headed to pluck the three leaves from the tree. Once the leaves were in her hand, she tossed them into the mortar and began to crush. Finally, the acid began to ooze out the leaves, and Sierra caught them in a dropper then lifted the dropper over the cauldron. *drop, drop, drop* She finished this part of the process by stirring three times counter clockwise.

With her gloves on, Nora retrieved three leaves from the Dransul plant, and then held her wand to clean her mortar and pestle, even though they were already clean. She just wanted to be sure. After she cast the Scourgify spell, she crushed one of the leaves until that acid started to come out. Using her dropper, she added the drops of acid and then stirred three times counter clockwise.

Elise pulled out her mortar and pestle and pulled out her wand. Imagining all the dirt completely disappearing, she said. "Scourgify."
Good. It was clean. Now to take the leaves. Snapping on her dragon hide gloves, she walked over to the front to retrieve three leaves from the Dransul plant and ran walked quickly to her workstation.
Placing the leaves in her newly scourgified mortar, she began crushing them until she spotted some acidic liquid seeping out. Sucking it into her dropper, she dropped in three drops to her potion. Taking her clean stirrer, she stirred the potion three times counterclockwise and wrote down the steps in her parchment.

Now, time for plant-picking. Hehehehe. Katrina wore her gloves and went to get three leaves from the plant stated.
Once she got all she need, she prepared (by cleaning it) her mortar. She crushed the leaves evenly until the acid came out. She used the dropper to take the acid and dropped them on her cauldron. Then, she stirred it three times counter clockwise.

Alyssa quickly noted down the Professor's instructions and the ingredients required in her journal
Text Cut: Alyssa's journal
Ingredients:
Water
2 cups Elf-made wine vinegar
three leaves from the Dransul plant
Steps
1. First put water into the cauldron using Aguamenti spell.
2. Light fire under cauldron. Keep heat on low.
3. Pour vinegar slowly into the cauldron
4. Put on gloves and take three leaves from the Dransul plant
5. Clean out mortar.
6. Take one of the leaves.
7. Crush into mortar until acid from leaf comes out.
8. Take dropper and pump up the three drops of acid
9. Add acid into cauldron and stir 3 time counter clockwise.
Putting on her gloves, Alyssa went over to the Dransul plant and gently removed three leaves from it. Bringing it back to her work bench, she placed them next to her mortar. She then removed one of her gloves, took out her wand and cleaned her mortar by waving her wand over it and saying "Scorgify". Then holstering her wand, she put on her glove again and took one Dransul leaf and placed it in the mortar. She picked up her pestle and crushed the leaf until acid starting oozing out of the leaf. She continued crushing it until there was at least 3 drops of acid. Then she put down the pestle, picked up her dropper and pumped up the acid. She slowly moved the dropper over to the simmering cauldron and dropped the three drops of acid into the cauldron. Picking up her ladle, she stirred the mixture three times making sure that she was stirring it counter clockwise. She then removed her ladle and placed it on her work bench.
Keeping her eye on the simmering cauldron, Alyssa sat back and while waiting for further instructions from the Professor looked over to see how Penny was doing with her potion making.

Well, if she hadn't thought Professor Lafay was back from whatever happy place she'd been in at the start of the lesson, Stella was certain she was now. Poor August, she thought, even as she also acknowledged that his saying that was kind of idiotic in the first place. She'd never say anything like that in front of Professor Lafay, but then, hopefully he knew better now. Even though she'd noticed princess Tori helping him dry off, it couldn't have been pleasant having an unfinished potion dumped on his head. Plus, she had to wonder if the comment about it dissolving negatives was true, due to not cleaning the cauldron first.
At least she knew she'd cleaned her own, and everything else that might be needed, almost obsessively. She had a feeling she'd casy Scourgify even more before this lesson was over, just to avoid even the posibility of the professor saying she'd contaminated anything. But first, she needed to retrieve her leaves, even if the Dransul plant was kind of creepy. Not at the moment, but because of what she knew about it. Pulling her gloves on, she walked over carefully and gently pulled three leaves off. She wasn't about to startle a plant that could move on its own, and eat small animals. Returning to her station, she withdrew her wand and cast another Scourgify on her mortar before dropping one leaf into it, setting the others aside to wait and see what they'd be used for. Repeating the cleaning process on her pestle, she crushed the leaf finely, checking for when liquid oozed out and stopping then to clean her dropper and stirrer. Adding three drops of the acid to her potion, she quickly set her stirrer into the cauldron and stirred the mixture three times counter-clockwise. Once that was complete, she switched to writing the new steps and ingredient to her notes. She was determined to not miss anything, or get any negative attention.

Kurumi glanced around the room and was pleased to see that students were recovering from the upturned cauldrons, which was nice to see. Kurumi turned her attention back front when they were told to put their gloves on, so she did and then got out of her seat again - checking on the fire once more - and walked over to the cupboard to grab three leaves from... a what?
Kurumi waited in line until it was her turn to grab some leaves and froze when she saw what the plant was. She wasn't sure if she should hug it or kick it. What? It looked like a football. Gently, she tore off three leaves and headed back to her station to finish up the rest of the process.
Crushing it in her clean mortar with her clean pestle was..kind of gross. Seeing the acid come out of the leaves...acid shouldn't come out of leaves...In fact, the only acid she wanted to see was from lemons and other citris fruits.
Okay, so now that she had the drops she needed to pick them up with a dropper...which was a little tricky since the little guys were so small...but she managed to suck them up and add them. Then it was time to stir aaaaaaaaand...done.
For now at least.

Cass then shook herself back to attention when Professor Lafay dumped her potion on some person's head. Oh Merlin. This was why they avoided her when she was in a bad mood.
Not wanting to make things worse, the blonde simply followed orders as she snapped her gloves on, took three leaves from said plant and simply copied what Professor Lafay did with hers, scourgifying her mortar and pestle crushing the leaves in it, one at a time, then dropping the acid that came out of them into her potion and stirred it three times, making sure that it was in the counter clockwise direction. Harvey took 3 leaves from the scary looking plant and he went back to his desk and cleaned his mortar "Scourgify!!" he then put in 1 leaf and crushed it, and kept on crushing it until some acid came out. He kept crushing it until he thought he had 3 drops worth and then he picked up his dropper and picked up all the acid that had come out of the leaf. He then put in 3 drops of the acid into his cauldron and stirred 3 times counter-clockwise. He then waited for further instructions.
Professor Lafay just dumped her potion on a student's head. Was that even allowed..? Desiree hurriedly followed the idea of several other students casting "Scorgify!" on her mortar, jussttt in case.

Taking the dropper she addded three drops into her potion, where it landed with a small simmer, and then stirred the potion three times, going counterclockwise.

Jesifur pulled on her gloves and walked over to the plant. She pulled three leaves off it and walked back to her area. Her mortar and pestle were cleaned at the start of class, but one could never be too sure. She re cleaned them and set a leaf in and began crushing it. Taking a dropper she gently pulled the liquid in and added three drops to the cauldron. Jesifur stirred three times counter clockwise. She looked up at the professor anxiously awaiting the next instruction.

Dransul plant? Blink. Quickly pulling on her gloves, Thea chewed her lips as she watched her plant. Ew. It was moving.. Wrinkling her nose, she reached out a hand to retrieve her three leaves. Using quick, jerky movements she jerked her habd around the plant and grabbed the leaves.
Exhaling softly, she returned to her cauldren. Bleurgh. Who would want to grow a meat eating plant for goodness sake?! Shaking her head, she dropped her leaves into her freshly clean mortar. Picking up her pestal, she mushed and crushed the leaves until she spotted the small amount of acid appear. Peering into her mortar, she concluded the amount was most likely three drops as Lafay had said.
Copying the professor, Thea's acid went into the cauldren. Spoon in hand, she placed it into the liquid and gave it the three stirs. Counter clockwise.. obviously.

Penny did as was asked and put on her gloves then she went to retrieve three Dransul leaves and then back to her work station..
Placing one of the leaves into her mortar, she lifted her pestle and began to grind the leaf, looking at it carefully for the acid to appear...
At last, after a minute of grinding, the acid started coming out of the leaf... She added the acid to her cauldron, and stirred three times counter clockwise.

AGGH. Snapping out of her daydreaming, Macy quickly inspected her cauldron for any deformations and cleaned it out. "Scourgify, she cast quickly, slipping her gloves on afterwards. She was already running behind. Pointing her wand inside the cauldron, Macy began to cast Aguamenti, and like she had done in the greenhouse, cast it nonverbally. GAH. This whole accidental use of nonverbal spells was tripping her up. Whatever. She was going to ignore it and move on.
Incendio, she cast, pointing her wand at the burner.

She turned around slowly. So someone DID notice. She smirked. "Very astute..." She said raising an eyebrow. "I'm glad someone noticed... someone would have been very sad if they used their negative in my potion. It would have disintegrated." She nodded and smirked at the boy who thought he was getting the better of her. "I suppose I should empty my cauldron as well."
... and she did.
Over the boy's head.
"Clean it up, and keep working." She said and smirked.
"Elf made has elf magic..." Duhhhh...
She cleaned her own cauldron and set the water to boil, then added the vinegar. "Now you put on your gloves and retrieve three leaves from the Dransul plant. MJ gaped at the Third Year Gryffindor wearing their professor's potion. "But what will it do to his head? Or, oh Merlin no - his brains? And he might go bald" The First Year immediately covered her mouth as her thoughts slipped out into speech. She stared down into her cauldron thinking
SPOILER!!: Thoughts of a First Year Ravie
Note to Self: Never ever pick Lafay up on something. Ever. No matter what.
If this was Gryffindor bravery, MJ knowing it would have been better for August if he'd kept his mouth shut, was Ravenclaw intellect. Oh Merlin; MJ couldn't believe anybody was mad enough to do that. She had been waiting for it! She'd done it purposefully and the stupid boy walked right into the trap. Talk about lunch for a lion - the lion was now lunch for a snake.A deadly snake that got it's pleasures from watching you die as slowly and as painfully as possible.
Taking a dransul leaf and crushing it in her mortar, MJ was now wiiiiide awake. Potion-throwing Professors? Erm, no thank you!!
When the First Year had three drops of acid from the crushed dransul leaf, she added them to her potion using a dropper and stirred the whole mixture three times, anti-clockwise. Her heart pounded in her chest.
After trying to dry off with the towels the best he could, the Gryffindor had already given up and worked on his potion. After he had already finished the next steps and finished the notes on his parchment, he begn to feel a warm breese blowing on him and then his hair becoming dry again.
Looking around curiously (because Lafay obvioulsy wasn't doing it) he saw that it was Tori and gave her a smile back mouthing the word 'Thanks' to her.
Okay, the next step and ingredient looked really dangerous as Orr put on her gloves and looked at the Dransul plant. She took a deep breath and quickly collected three leaves. She then looked at her parchment

2. Two cups of Elf-made Wine Vinegar
3. Three Dransul Plant Leaves
Procedure:
1. Add water to cauldron.
2. Heat on a low flame.
3. Add two cups of Elf-made Wine Vinegar
4. crush Dransul Plant leaves in the mortar until the acid comes out (should be about three drops of acid).
5. using a dropper, collect the acid and add to cauldron.
6. stir three times counter-clockwise
Grabbing her mortar, she put in the leaves and crushed them until the acid came out. Then she took her dropper and collected the acid to add it to the cauldron. When she finished that--she stirred three times counter-clockwise.
Hecate flipped the cauldrons over for everyone who hadn't cleaned their cauldron. "I do not care if you looked to see if your cauldron was cleaned, you MUST clean it right before you do anything with it. If there is a speck of dust, that isn't visible to the naked eye, you can compromise your whole potion." She said angrily. "Now clean up your area, scourgify your cauldrons, repeat the five C's of potion making and then start over!"
"Next step will be to add two cups of Elf-made wine vinegar." She said and motioned to the door of the potions cupboard. "There is a barrel in there with enough for the whole class." She took the vinegar, burgundy in color and poured it slowly in with the water.

Isabelle had felt like she had done something wrong. "Thank you professor for catching my mistake. The 5 C's are Cleanliness, Content, Concentration, Care, and Color," Isabelle said quickly before emptying her cauldron. "Scourgify," she said quickly pointing her wand into her cauldron to clean out any dust particles, etc. that were in there. "Aguamenti," the cauldron was filled up with water again. "Incendio," Isabelle created another low flame for her potion.
Isabelle walked over to the cupboard quickly and withdrew 2 cups of Elf-made wine vinegar. Once she got back to her work station she slowly poured it into her cauldron.
Then Isabelle pulled her dragon hide gloves and went to retrieve three Dransul plant leaves. She took one of the leaves and placed it in her mortar then crushed it with her pestel until all of the acid came out of the leaf. Grabbing her dropper she careful got three drops of acid and let them out in her cauldron. Grabbing her spoon she said "Scourgify," just to be sure that there was no dust particles on her spoon then stirred three times counter-clockwise before writing the steps down in her notebook.

She cleaned her own cauldron and set the water to boil, then added the vinegar. "Now you put on your gloves and retrieve three leaves from the Dransul plant. Take one of the leaves and crush it in your mortar until the acid from inside the leaves comes out. It should make about three drops of acid. Add them with a dropped and stir three times counter clockwise." She said demonstrating.
Louisa put on her gloves, eying the plant suspiciously. It didn't look very friendly. She grabbed it gently and lifted it to her eyes level, staring at it. It looked like something Louisa had seen in one of those shops that sold decorative stuff.. it was very-
"WHAA!" She jumped, squeezing the plant harder as it made a slight roll in the girl's hand before staying still again. Louisa looked up, alerted, "I'm sorry. I was.." she left the sentence hanging, hopefully nobody was annoyed or Lafay didn't get her mood ruined by this and took away points. Please, no.
Quickly, and almost nervously, Louisa plucked out a leaf and put the eerie plant away. Crushing the lonely leaf in the mortar, Louisa paid attention to when the acid started to get out. Slowly, she gathered it in the dropper and added three precise drops onto the cauldron.
One stir. Two. Three. STOP! Louisa's hand put the stirrer aside.
Nessie watched Lafay sullenly as she demonstrated. As soon as she was done she retrieved her gloves and put them on. She picked of three leaves of the strange plant and put them in her mortar. She crushed them until the acid was oozing out of the plant. Taking the dropper she let it suck up the acid and she dropped three drops into the cauldron. She grabbed her stirrer and stirred it counter clockwise three times. Nessie raised her hand.
"Professor does it really matter which direction we stir it in?"
