Hecate seemed in somewhat a better mood. She had a few bags on one side of the room and she was looking at an old photograph. A very young Hecate Lafay in emerald and silver, on a broom wielding a beaters bat and a handsome young man, on a broom beside her guarding the goal hoops. She was twirling the bat above her head, cheering, and the boy was pumping his fist in the air.
It was her first championship win. Third Year.
She tucked the photo in her desk, opened the classroom, and waited for her students to file in.
ooc: This class will stay open for at least 72 hours (probably more.) Also thanks to Antarctica! for taking the picture of the Potions Classroom for me at the WWoHP, and to Ameh for makin it into a pretty graphic!

She pointed her wand and performed the Agitatem spell, then the Glacious in almost one fluid motion. "Now you all."
Minerva looked at her potion it was a deep burgundy she gave a little smile at this. She loved making potions. She held up her wand and pointed it in the center of her Cauldron drawing a spiral with an upward motion she said "Agitatem" then quickely she cast the Glacius spell and put out the flame so the cauldron could cool quickly.

As Sierra watched over her potion, she smirked at the interaction going on between Lafay and some other student. It pretty much made Sierra's day when someone got ridiculed in Potions class and then told to start completely over. She knew she likely shouldn't enjoy it, but she couldn't help it. It was just in her nature to at least smirk.
She picked up her wand and pointed it toward the center of the cauldron. "Agitatem!" she said, moving the wand just as she'd been told. "Glacius!" she added, knowing she only had a second to complete that part. She slowly lowered her wand to her side then peered into her cauldron and watched as the potion moved on its own.

Paying attention to the next instructions only made Nora feel a bit nervous, since they had to use a couple of spells she couldn't say she mastered.
She threw a quick look at her potion, and smiled to herself when she saw the burgundy colour. At least she didn't mess up anything... by now. Holding her wand, she took a deep breath, after which she drew a spiral in an upward motion, just as professor Lafay told them. "Agitatem," she muttered, and then pointed her wand again, this time towards the flame to say "Glacius."
Looking again at her cauldron, she noticed that the potion kept moving by itself, and she also knew that it cooled down. Good.
Cass watched as a first yea's potion was vanished off her cauldron. Shame, right when they were about to finish too. Oh well. It wasn't her problem anyway. Great! It was the last step! After this, no more paranoia! Well, until the next lesson at least.
She looked down on her potion and indeed found that it was now a deep burgundy color, brilliant! It means she did the potion right. Then she glanced up at Professor Lafay as she watched her perform the spell, finishing with casting Glacius.
Right. She could do that.
So, the young Slytherin picked her wand up from the table and pointed it at the very center of her potion, slowly drawing a spiral as she said "Agitatem" then without wasting any time, she quickly lowered her wand to the fire and said "Glacius", causing really cold air to come out from her wand, putting out the fire and effectively cooling down her potion. Then she peered over her cauldron and smiled when she found that it was still moving. Whew. Now she could relax.

Raven looked her cauldron, the potion is colored deep burgundy color now. The she took her wand, point it to the centre of cauldron and draw a spiral.
"Agitatem." then, another spell
"Glacius."

Ohhhh!
Even though it wasn't as good as seeing a cauldron being flipped, seeing the stuff inside that girl's cauldron vanish was just as amusing. And as much as she wanted to draw something different on her parchment, since she was only drawing socks for flipped cauldrons, Destiny wasn't much of an artist. She would just draw a different color sock. It was easier.
Proud of her drawings, she placed her quill down and looked into her cauldron. Not only was she not an artist, she also wasn't good at colors. She figured the liquid inside was burgundy, and it did look like that other person's.. Ehh, if it wasn't right, Lafay could correct her. And by correct, she meant that she would be yelled at, threatened, and most likely, have to start all over. Sweet Merlin, she hoped it was right. Because..they were on the last step.
ALREADY!?
But..she only had four socks drawn! Hopefully someone else messed up. Someone who isn't herself, of course. Pulling out her wand, Destiny watched as Lafay demonstrated the spells they were going to use on their cauldron. It seemed easy enough, so with a nod of her head, she pointed her wand in the center of the cauldron, using it to draw a spiral in an upward motion. "Agitatem." she said, followed be a quick "Glacius." on the flame underneath.
And watching as the potion continued to move, Destiny shivered just at the thought of the 'Glacius' charm. Brr.
Steps Taken
- Drew a sock.
- Cleaned my cauldron.
- Filled cauldron with itching powder water using 'Aguamenti'.
- Used 'Incendio' to light..my fire. - Feared for my life.
- Added two cups Elf-made wine vinegar to cauldron.
- Drew two more socks. One more, I'll have TWO pairs!
- Put on gloves.
- Took three Dransuls leaf.
- Placed leaf in mortar. - Pfft'd Professor Bentley.
- Ferociously Crushed leaf like it was Professor Bentley until all the acid was released.
- Added three drops of the acid.
- Stirred potion three times counterclockwise. - Was disappointed when no cauldrons were flipped.
- Added three Billywig Stingers to cauldron. - Reminisced.
- Drew a different color sock.
- Made sure potion was a burgundy color. Not that I can tell, but it looked like that other persons. - Hoped potion was burgundy and possibly feared for my DIGNITY.
- Pointed wand in the center of my cauldron, drew a spiral with it in an upward motion.
- Used the incantation 'Agitatem'.
- Used 'Glacius' on flame underneath cauldron. - I shivered.

Jory looked at his burgundy coloured potion and was quite glad he'd gotten it right. It won't do to start over. He held his wand up to the center of his cauldron and drew a spiral in an upward movement as Professor Lafay instructed and said "Agitatem". Wasting no time, Jory cast the other spell. "Glacius!" he said. He saw that the potion was moving by itself.

Elise checked on her potion. It was a nice deep burgundy and looked pretty much like everyone else's. Feeling proud of herself, she pulled out her wand and pointed to the center of the Cauldron.
"Agitatem!" she cried, wand spiralling upward as Professor Lafay had done. And then to put out the flame. "Glacius!" she said, pointing her wand at the flame. It went out instantly, cooling the cauldron very quickly.
Peering into her cauldron, she noticed that it seemed to move on its own. YAY!
Now, she could relax. Right after she finished her notes.

Stella took a breath as it seemed the cauldron flipping was over with. Professor Lafay's scariness wasn't, but at least if she was just vanishing people's potions if they had done something wrong, she wouldn't have to worry about getting splashed by anything. It meant she could focus more on making sure her own potion was brewed correctly, even as she realized that it seemed they were basically done. That surprised her, and she blinked as she tried to adjust to the fact that there apparently were only three ingredients, not counting water. That didn't seem right, not after the last potion they'd done. Even though she really didn't want to think about the hate potion again, she had to admit that it was kind of what she'd expected when it came to potions. Not this.
Oh well. Shorter is better, right?, she thought, checking that her potion was in fact the deep burgundy color specified and letting her wand slip into her hand from its holster as she replicated the point and spiral motion that Professor Lafay had done. "Agitatum." The spell hadn't really been explained, but she assumed it was meant to keep the potion moving. Agitate it. Either way, she quickly pointed her wand underneath her cauldron toward the flame. "Glacius!" As the fire went out, and her cauldron cooled down, she felt the need to check the potion again. Especially as she wasn't sure if she'd cast the second spell quickly enough, but it was still moving. Hopefully that meant it was cooled off fast enough.

Finally the last step.
After listening to Lafay's instruction on the last procedures of the potion, he then took a look over his cauldron just to see if he was still on the right track. Yup, it is deep burgundy in color. Although, how would you really know it's burgundy. Burgundy is deep red in color right?
Pfffttt. Nevermind.
Jonathan took out his wand "Agitatem" he uttered while doing a spiral in an upward motion. Immediately after that he once again pointed his wand into the cauldron. No need for distractions or breaks. "Glacius!"
Checking to see if his spell had work, he smiled. The potion is moving on its own now.

Final step, already? Phew, this potion didn't seem like it was so bad. One of the simpler ones she had brewed with Professor Lafay thus far to be sure. Setting all her brewing things down, Kurumi removed her wand from her pocket and performed the wand movement that Lafay had. "Agitatem," she whispered, hoping that that had done the trick since she had never cast this particular spell before. Her mind went blank suddenly when she began casting Glacius. How did the wand movement go again? Had Lafay even performed a seperate wand movement? Which part of the word was emphasized more? Not wanting to waste another moment, Kurumi hurriedly cast the next spell. "Glacius."

Jesifur nodded at the professors instruction. Jesifur pulled her wand pointed it at the center of the burgundy fluid and spiraled upward as she said, "Agitatem" then immediately cast,"Glacius." She watched as the flame went out and the liquid moved around on its own. It was really cool to watch.

Harvey then followed the Professor's next set of instructions. He took out his wand and pointed it into the middle of his cauldron and did the upward spiral wand movement and said the incantation "Agitatem!!" then suddenly he realised that he still had to do one final spell. So he pointed his wand at the flame under his cauldron and cast the spell "Glacious!!" to cool down his cauldron and potion that was held within his cauldron.

Marie looked into her cauldron. Yep the color looked just right... a deep burgundy. Dropping her wand into her hand she pointed it at the center of her cauldron and drew a spiral with an upward motion. "Agitatem." Then in the next move without even taking a breath she cast the next spell. "Glacius."
With her cauldron cooling and her potion still moving she reholstered her wand then updated her journal.

"Catch up faster or you'll be left behind." She said glaring at the kids.
"Alright. The potion needs to continue moving for about a month's time. In the bag there are cameras with wizarding film in them. Take pictures of your classmates, of anything you feel is fun, and exciting. I don't want to see a picture of a book, or something else boring. Go out and play. Take pictures. Once you have done so. Come back to the classroom darkroom. It will remain in red light."
She pulled a camera, and took out the film. She then levitated a cauldron she had under her desk. "I brewed this one last month. You'll notice the colour has darkened so much it is nearly black. The consistency has also changed. It's thicker now." She opened a cupboard and pulled out two developing trays. "I will have these out for you all to use. Ladle the potion in one," she demonstrated, "and then, with gloves on," she put on her gloves, "pass the negative in the potion."
She left it in there a minute. "One minute later, you will need to take it out and put it in the second tray, covering it with water. Aguamenti!" She cast ask she demonstrated what she was saying. The picture was now large, visible and moving.
"I took this over Christmas break." She said showing it to everyone, "Sorry Greingoth..." but she was smirking... "Class Dismissed."

Take one of the leaves and crush it in your mortar until the acid from inside the leaves comes out. It should make about three drops of acid. Add them with a dropped and stir three times counter clockwise." She said demonstrating.
Salima put on her gloves and cleaned her mortar with her wand using the same charm she used to clean her cauldron before. Salima took three leaves from the Dransul plant and put in one and crushed it until the acid came out. She repeated this two more times. After the acid from the leaves was in the mortar she got out her dropper and sucked the acid into it (using her dropper) and dropped it into her cauldron and stired it three times anti-clockwise.

"Now keep your gloves on... You want to take three billywig stingers and drop them in the moving water." She said going back to her cauldron and dropping her stingers.
Salima took three billywig stingers and dropped them into her cauldron. Looking up after that ready to continue with the next task.

She then went to her own cauldron. "The last step is simple. By now your potion should be a deep burgundy colour. Hold your wand pointing in the center of the Cauldron and you will draw a spiral with it in an upward motion. The incantation is Agitatem." She raised her hand. "Immediately after that you have a matter of seconds. Cast the Glacius spell to put out the flame and cool the cauldron as quickly as you can. The potion will continue to move on it's own."
'A deep burgundy colour' Salima mutterd to herself, she had it well so far... She pointed her wand to her cauldron just ad professor had and said the incantation moving her hand in a swirling motion 'Agitatem' then immediately cast the 'Glacius' charm.
Salima looked around to see what everbody else was doing after that then saw that most of them were writing the instructions down in their journals, and thought it would be best if she did the same.
She got out her journals and quill and started writing it down in it.

A ship in harbor is safe — but that is not what ships are built for.
Homework.
Right. Homework.
Victoria guessed that she could leave now that the professor said 'dismissed'. She gathered all her things and belongings and took a glance at a silly photo of a classmate that Professor Lafay was holding before heading out the door. Sure, it was funny, but it wasn't really nice to say anything mean about it either. The corner of Victoria's mouth twitched slightly, and she bit on the edge of her lips immediately.
"Good bye professor." said Victoria before walking out the exit door.
CLEAN CAULDRON (make sure teacher is looking when you do it!)
Start with water on a low flame.
Add two cups of Elf-made wine vinegar (slowly!)
Put on dragon-hide gloves and retrieve three leaves from the Dransul plant (looks like a football)
Crush one leaf in mortar until acid from comes out (3 drops)--BE CAREFUL!
Use dropper to collect acid & add 3 drops to cauldron.
Stir 3 times counter-clockwise
Keeping gloves on, take 3 billywig stingers and drop in the moving water.
Note:Potion should now be deep burgundy colour
Point wand into center of cauldron; draw spiral with it in upward motion, while saying: Agitatem.
IMMEDIATELY (within seconds) cast the Glacius spell to put out flame; cauldron must cool down as quickly as possible
Note:Potion should continue to move on its own
Potion needs to remain moving for about 1 month; then it can be used to develop magical photographs.
[*[Developing pictures: When potion is ready, colour will be nearly black and consistency will be thicker.
In a darkroom, get two developing trays; fill one with potion and keep the other ready for water.
WEARING GLOVES, pass the negative film through the tray with the potion--leave for 1 minute.
Next pass the film in the second tray; cover it with water (Aguamenti)
Magical photo(s) should now be moving!
Violet carefully covered her cauldron to keep anything foreign from getting into it for the month, then cleaned up the rest of her workspace, packed up her things, stuffed them into her bag, and went up to get herself a camera from the bag. She looked them over for a second and selected what she thought was a good one; this was going to be fun! She made sure to nod at the professor and politely say, "Goodbye, Professor Lafay, thank you for the lesson," before leaving (even though she was totally unfair to empty Violet's potion on the table!!), and then left the classroom.
After Salima was finished, she walked over to Professor Lafay's desk and took out a camera of the bag. She walked back to her desk holding the camera and placed it in her bag with her journal and quill. 'Professor!' Salima called over 'what should we do with our cauldron's.
That was there homework...well, besides doing the other following directions to make them move. This was like one of the best homeworks he's ever received. It would take a month, that would be enough for him to take lots of pictures for sure.
He stuffed his notes into his bag. "Goodbye, Professor Lafay," he said, before exiting the classroom.
