The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through.
"Oddsbodikins!"
Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes.
That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby.

Arabella-Marie smiled at Tayla and said "Yeah Arithmancy does have to do with numbers not one of my strong subjects but i thought i would learn about the subject anyway" Arabella-Marie turned to Zara and said "Nope i haven't Zara but i do want to have a cookie i need something sweet to eat"
Elyon skipped through the portrait whole, the look of utmost delight on her face. Being back at Hogwarts was the best feeling she'd ever had! She twirled over to the fire place and sat on a chair a few seats away from it. It was good to home, especially now the she was a second year! Wow, it seemed like just yesterday she'd been sorted into the lovely house of Gryffindor, the biggest surprise of her life.
She looked around, wondering who she'd see in the land of the lions. She saw some fifth years, a few first years, and a couple of students she'd seen before, but had never spoken to. She made a mental note to get on that. She was about to turn back to the fire when she saw him. Her best friend was just a few seats away! She hadn't seen him since Diagon Alley, which felt like years ago. She hopped over and sat down next to him, her eyes lit up with glee. "Septimus! We're second years!" Even saying it felt nice. Heh, she felt so old, being twelve and all. It was strange, being at a happy place where she could learn, and even have a few good friends!
"Yeah, second years," he said. "The first years seem a lot like little kids now."
"Yeah, second years," he said. "The first years seem a lot like little kids now."
"No, I think we just seem a lot older," she said thoughtful, looking around at a few firsties in the room. She almost missed being a first year; it'd been one of the happiest she'd ever been. And she was a pretty happy person. "So how was the rest of your summer you-know-where?" She asked brightly. She didn't dare say 'orphanage,' for she knew Septimus (Luca) wouldn't want anyone else to know about his summer time living arrangements. Elyon sincerely hoped he wouldn't have to go back to his real family, though. Anything was better than that.
"I'm not good with numbers either," Tayla replied. "I went to Muggle school before Hogwarts. It took me double the work to get good grades in Mathematics than it did other subjects." Then realizing Arabella may not have gone to Muggle school, and unsure whether pureblood wizards knew what Maths meant, she added, "Erm...this may sound silly but...do wizards know what Math is? As a subject I mean."

Tayla tried to keep from blushing, but her cheeks burned. She looked down and pretended to focus on some interesting thing on her cookie. Tayla thought about it for a second and decided it would be okay to tell Zara. It was just a little crush after all, right?
Tayla cleared her throat and moved closer to Zara. "Fine," she whispered. "See that boy sleeping over there? With the long dark hair? Well...I have a thing for boys with long dark hair..." Tayla blushed. She couldn't believe she was acting this way! Blushing! For a boy! An older boy who didn't even know her. "I kinda have a crush on him...Keep it secret okay?" Tayla said finally, softer than ever. She bit her lip, leaned back on the couch, and taking a large bite of her cookie, forced herself not to look at the boy.
Arabella-Marie smiled and said "Well i could give you a tour about the castle if you want Zara"
"Thanks for the offer. That'll be great!" Zara said, delighted with having someone to be with as she had a tour of her new school. "We should invite others too, so it'll be very fun."

"Oohh." Zara said, as the thought slowly sinked in. "I get it," she whispered and winked. And when her mind finally completely understood the message, she shouted. "Holy cow, are you serious?!" And she suddenly jumped as she said this. Realizing what she had done, Zara slowly sank back on her seat. "Oops, sorry."
"Oddsbodikins!" said Chris as he walked through the portrait hole to the common room. He went up to the notice board to see if anything was important then walked away to the study tables and started to read a book that he got out of his bag. He then got out his wand and got his quill and said," Wingardium Leviosa." Was that right he thought? and said it again and his quill started to levitate. He just started to practice other spell he found in his books.

Ariadne didn't like being interrupted, but this once she didn't mind that much, as she was eager to befriend her fellow Gryffindors. And the boy was a first year too.
'Hi, no problem, Jordan. Pleased to meet you, I'm Ariadne.' the girl replied. 'Have you tried any of these cookies made by Kurumi?' she gestured towards the box on the table. 'Delicious.' she smiled.
'So how do you like Hogwarts so far? Looking forward to start classes?' Ariadne asked conversationally.

"Am I?" Kurumi blushed. She was rather glad to know that perhaps she wouldn't be the only bookworm in Gryffindor this term. "Kendo is a form of Japanese sword fighting, but we use a sword made out of bamboo."
'That's a fabulous idea! We could use the Room of Requirement.' Ariadne suggested, wanting to demonstrate she knew a lot about Hogwarts already. 'I'm sure many people would be interested.' she said as she was taking another cookie. 'This is the last I'm going to take, I swear.' Ari chuckled.
'Wow, that sounds cool! Where can you get such a sword? Did you bring it from home?' Ariadne asked, with curiosity. She was interested in other cultures and customs very much.

"Yes, I've signed up. Mum used to play for the Gryffindor team, too. She was a keeper," Tayla continued. "I'm a bit nervous really. We're not allowed brooms so I can't practice before try-outs. Speaking of Quidditch, I had this crazy dream last night where I was both a chaser and a seeker. It was really odd, but a lot of fun! I hope it's a good omen or something."
Tayla felt happy talking to Ari. They seemed to get along well and have many things in common. "I love reading, too! And History is definitely an interesting subject," she said. "I've started with A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot. But I'm planning to go to the library and read other books, especially those with facts about Harry Potter. We can go together if you want."
'Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking. The Daily Prophet suggested it's safe, so why can't we?' she wondered. 'You know, I'm happy to know people with a spirit for adventure.' Ariadne smiled.
'Good luck! My mum was on her House team too, but I don't think I inherited her talent.' Ari replied, not too bothered by that. 'So you come from a family of Gryffindors? My family has been in Ravenclaw since...forever.' she confessed. 'Yeah, I'm sure the dream means you'll get on the team.' Ari grinned.
'I read Bagshot's book too! And I've bought a book at Flourish and Blott's this summer about the former Headmasters of Hogwarts, it's really good. I'd enjoy going to the library anytime.' Ari nodded.

"It was serious fight, but hopefully she will forgive me for what I had to do." It wasn't her fault though. It was something big to ask of Nika. "She's 10, but she's turning eleven soon." Nika sighed wishing her sister would just understand. "Well she's not Hogwarts age yet, but she couldn't go anyways. She's not a witch."
'So I take it Muggle Studies is your favourite subject then? What's it like?' Ariadne asked Nika. She couldn't help but laugh when the girl said magic wasn't her forte. 'But...you're a witch. Witches are good at magic as far as I know.' Ari spoke through giggles.
'Yes, I'm sure you had a good time. How long did you stay? Did you learn any French? I remember a few words since I was there.' the tiny first year wanted to know.
Ariadne wasn't going to ask what the girls fought about, it was way too personal. 'Wow, I find it really interesting when one sibling is a Muggle and the other is not. Doesn't she envy you? What about your parents? Are they Muggles too?' her curiosity got the better of her again.

At first the seventeen year old boy stopped and looked around to see who was or were currently spending their time here right now. Hmmm hmm hmmm. Of course there were people he knew as usual but also...there were people, firsties, he did not know.
Coolness!
Approaching his favourite couch before the fireplace rather coolly, he yawned without bothering to hide it or else right before jumping on the couch and settling himself down in it comfortably. Yeaa, this was his couch so you others had better stay away from it.
Taking his scarlet and gold tie off, he rested on the couch peacefully, slowly closing his eyes. Mmmm.
Ari noticed a much older Gryffindor boy walking in. His relaxed attitude made her smile, it reminded her of her uncle Tristan, who was much younger than her parents, and more like an older brother than an uncle.
The firstie hoped the boy wouldn't mind if she talked to him, she enjoyed talking to adults. 'Hi, are you a seventh year?' she asked, approaching the couch. Without waiting for an answer, she added:' You must know lots about Hogwarts. So what information do you have about the ship on the grounds?' the child waited for a response this time.
"No, I think we just seem a lot older," she said thoughtful, looking around at a few firsties in the room. She almost missed being a first year; it'd been one of the happiest she'd ever been. And she was a pretty happy person. "So how was the rest of your summer you-know-where?" She asked brightly. Elyon sincerely hoped he wouldn't have to go back to his real family, though. Anything was better than that.
"Well, it wasn't the best summer ever but it wasn't the worst," he told her. "The other kids there are nice, but a bit gloomy."
Jayce continued eying the room for any suspicious activity. He knew that Woody would cause some sort of mishap soon enough, granted he was still in the room. Pausing in his silent search, Jayce glanced back up at the younger boy. "Well, he's.. a reddish brown color." Would that even be how to describe him? "He's.. got light brown eyes and he answers to the name Woody." Jayce finished his description, unsure of how else to describe the dog. After all, he hadn't really had him all that long. "Oh, and he's a purebred Vizsla. Do you know what that is?" he inquired the other Gryffindor.
"You'd do that? That's be.. a whole lot of help," the boy grinned a reply as the other boy introduced himself. "It's nice to meet you Jai, i'm Jayce." Then, the boy extended a hand toward the other for a hand shake. "What year are you in?" Jayce asked curiously before getting down onto his knees to search the floor.
Crawling along the floor, from chair to sofa was Jayce. He paused though as he heard a female voice. Was she talking to him? Surely there were MANY boys around. She could mean anyone. But as Jayce's blue irises followed the sound, he found that she was staring at him. With a tilted head, the boy glanced to her hand which seemed to be pointing to some lump in her lap. A furry- ZOMG. WOODY. "BAD DOG."
Tail wagging furiously, Woody sat comfortably in the young girls lap. He wasn't quite sure what to do, although he really wanted to hop off and go find something or someone to play with. But she seemed to be holding him. He squirmed this way and that, hearing her speak, but not understanding a word she was saying. But after a moment or two, he heard a familiar voice. MASTER'S VOICE! The dog's tail continued wagging furiously as he panted and directed his attention towards his master. But then, he heard familiar words. Ones that he did understand.
Bad dog. He had done it again. He'd gone and made master all sad. The pup paused in his tail wagging, lowered his head and ears further, which was rather difficult seeing as he had floppy ears. The Vizsla stared up at his master through sad eyes. He had done a bad thing.
The seventh year stood and shook his head in disappointment. He was not happy with the pup's behavior. Stupid dog. He was only a pup though and still needed to go through LOADS of training despite how difficult he knew this dog would be. Jay nodded at the girl quickly, "Yeah I did. You seemed to have found my dog." he smiled down at her. "He.. didn't chew on your shoes or anything, did he?" The boy asked curiously, silently praying that he hadn't.
Chris looked into the worried blue eyes of the older Gryffndor and watched as he slowly realized what had happened to his puppy. She felt the small dog shrink back in her lap as he realized his master's scolding, flopping instantly into stillness. "This little sweetheart? Of course not," she said, stroking the pup's head. "He was just hiding, that's all. There are so many people in here he probably didn't know what to do with himself." Yep, that was Chris. Puppy defender. She stared at the adorably hunk of fur in her lap, smiling. "Even running away, he's better trained than my dogs. They don't listen to anything unless it has to do with food."
