The house elves are hard at work preparing your next meal but, they're always willing to prepare an after-hours snack to those students who are brave enough to tickle the pear and enter the kitchens. Ovens and refrigerators like the back wall, while pots, potion burners, utensils and pans are scattered over counters.

Day of lovers seemed a little scandalous for the English. "How appropriate that it is the day after your birthday. Everyone falls in love with you as it is." He wondered if a note of bitterness had colored his voice, then decided he'd imagined it. Whatever bitterness he held was not allowed to be evident to Eiri. He twisted his fork into the food, and raised it to his mouth. It was decent. Very good, even. She would never be Iron Chef, but she had mastered the recipe well.
He felt his chewing stop as she told him the bad news. He forced himself to start back up about it. She'd mentioned it flippantly, which meant to leave it alone. "I'm sorry." he said simply, but with conviction that those words rarely get.
And then his eyebrows shot up. "You're getting married? Hm. I'll be honest, I pity the poor sap. He'll probably follow you where ever you go." His joke was totally marred, however, by the joy on his face. He couldn't contain it. She was ready to marry him. He beamed at her.
Eirian colored as Thiago's tongue traveled gracefully over the Portuguese language. These days, it seemed the language was just between them; she knew of two other people in Hogwarts that spoke Portuguese, and even then only Savannah took the Brazilian style. "Valentine's Day," she murmured. "Dad always said I was a day too early." Wrinkling her nose up, Eiri decided that confusion was the best response. Honestly, she thought Thi was overreacting. "What are you talking about?" she asked simply. "Who have I been with but you?" No one. She was almost bitter about that... Eiri knew that Thi was the one for her, but if only she had other, past relationships to compare it to... And to get the nosy people away from her as they expressed the idiotic belief that the first relationship in a person's life couldn't be their only one. She was perfectly happy marrying Thiago, thank you very much, and it wasn't because she hadn't know other love.
It was because they were meant to be.
An apology. Lovely. "Please do not," Eirian begged. "I know you mean it, but do not apologize. I do not want pity! It is something you ought to know." Sigh. "And you should know that it was Jayce's mother that I convinced to adopt me. It does not mean anything. I helped him find her two summers ago, and she wanted to help... So she signed a few things and became my legal guardian. I stayed with her for the summer... unlike I had planned. But they kicked me out of the manor until I inherit it... And I had no money to put myself up in a hotel or to travel..." Merlin, she hoped he wouldn't be angry. "And I did a lot of things I regret, but not once was I disloyal to you or our relationship." Her regrets came in the masochistic form... "There. That is everything." With a sigh, she dragged her hands over her face; they weren't smooth like they used to be. Her hands were scarred and calloused. If they were any harder, she'd fear that she'd rub the freckles right off of her cheeks.
"You ought to pity him," Eirian murmured, resting her head against Thiago's chest. His joke kept the tears from her eyes and the worry from her heart, but it didn't make her body feel any lighter. It was like her late nights were catching up to her, pulling her into a world of slow motion. A fog was sinking down into her soul, and she had to shake it off somehow. "He is stuck with me forever... Poor git is as whipped as a house elf. I have him wrapped around my little finger."
Wesley was in the Kitchen because, well, it was better than being down in the dungeons. Maybe the dark, slime-covered halls would have created a more mysterious background for their assignment, but as far as this Hufflepuff was concerned, the less mysteriousness, the better.
With lunch over and dinner far away, the 6th year was allowed to sit at one of the great tables. She rearranged her Arithmancy notes and stood the cylindrical container in front before reaching for one of the just-out-of-the-oven cookies, made without any order by one of the Houselves. It was sugar, covered with creamy frosting and decorated with chocolate chips in the shape of a smiley face. "This cookie is the best cookie I have ever had in my whole life," she complemented after fully swallowing her first bite.
Truth.
Feet dangling, Wesley smiled. The assorted brass pans and pots winked with reflected light from the huge fireplace while tiny elves, including the one who baked her cookies, scurried happily around. This, she concluded while waiting without hurry for Iris, was her favorite place.

Braeden jumped slightly in his seat as Caroline poked him; he was rather ticklish, though he told no one so they wouldn't use it against him. His lips curved into an amused smile and a brief chuckle escaped his lips, just as his brows furrowed slightly and his brown eyes opened slightly. GAH! Had he really just randomly fallen asleep on the table, in the middle of the kitchen, in front of Caroline?! He quickly sat up in his seat, looking rather sheepish before he seemed to notice Caroline was looking rather sleepy too.
"I think it's time we head back to the dormitories," said the boy with a small smile. "I'll walk you over to the dungeons, if you want," he offered.

Geez, what time was it, it was getting late when she came to the kitchens. She grinned back at him. She was as sleepy as Braeden looked She could barely keep her eyes opened now. She closed her eyes and sat straight up almost asleep. "Huh?" She said as she jumped and opened her eyes again. then realizing what he said "Oh, yeah sure. Iris wasn't sure why Wesley wanted to do the Arithmancy homework in the Kitchens. There were plenty of other places in the castle that were more, uh, homework-friendly. Nevertheless though, the Slytherin quickly made her way up to the kitchen level to meet her friend.
She'd never actually been in the kitchens before. Tickling the pear, Iris felt a little foolish (Surely there were less ego-bruising ways of using magic?). When the door opened, Iris climbed through the door.
Her first thought?
"Wow. Hogwarts has a lot of House Elves."
Intellectual, we know.
"Hey, Wez!" Iris called out, spotting the small girl on the other side of the giant room. Hmm. Homework. Not fun.

On her fifth cookie, the door on the far end opened. Perking up, Wesley watched the blond descend the stairs and enter the friendly room. "Hey, Iris!" she called back above the many tiny voices, waving enthusiastically.
"You found it!" Visibly puffing with pride, Wesley mentally congratulated herself on being an excellent direction giver. The Slytherin had looked a tad disbelieving when she described the dancing pear, and had snorted when Wesley mentioned the tickling part. But here she was, right on-
Well, probably on time. Wesley couldn't exactly tell; all of her watches were currently compasses, and she wasn't sure how to turn them back.

"Valentines." Yes, that made sense... Saint of love and all that. He looked down at her, and frowned. He thought he was saying she'd been untrue? No. That's not what he meant at all.
"No, querida, I was only said that everyone falls in love with you. Not that you've been with all the people who do. Something I am eternally grateful for." Her expression was troubled, and as usual, he was left wondering what she was thinking about.
"But I'm honestly sorry it happened- not pitying. Really. I met her, remember? I think, after the yelling stopped, she really liked me. I do after all have a certain charm." And then he listened. His jaw clenched- And the tension ran down his body. He buried his face in her hair and remembered what Durango had taught him. "Let it go, Thiago. Let it go. Do not your feelings make you a monster and a fool."
His body relaxed.
"I'm glad you had somewhere to stay," he breathed into her hair. "I am."
"And I do. Pity him, that is. Probably waiting in desperation for the day you decided you were ready. Probably had hundred of girls throw themselves at him from whatever mysterious country he's from and waited years for you. God, that's pathetic."

Kurumi, noticing that she wasn't alone in the kitchen, headed for some of the empty counter space and pulled up a chair. Having just finished her Arthimancy homework with Salander, Kurumi had a lot on her mind and needed a sweet distraction. Of course, the first thing that popped into her mind was baking.
She hadn't even gone back to the common room before heading to the kitchens. Throwing her bag on the ground, Kurumi rummaged through her bag until she found her cookie recipe notebook that she then set on the counter. She turned to her favorite of the house elves, Twinkle, and spoke.
"Excuse me, Twinkle," she said smiling kindly to the creature. "What fruit is in season at the moment?"
"Why, that would be pear, Miss Kurumi," the elf said bowing. "We have plenty of them in stock if you so wish."
"Thank you," Kurumi smiled picking up her notebook again. "If you would be go kind." Kurumi continued to flip through her notebook until she found the recipe she was looking for. "Here we are, Fresh Pear Cookies with Browned Butter Icing."

Fee made her way to the kitchen.Once again she was craving to get her white chocolate.Oh man that addiction should really stop.Drinking hot white chocolate every single day couldnt be good right?!Walking into the room the blonde smiled kindly at the houseelves. They were sooo nice and always brought her the chcolate in her princess mug.Sooo sweeet.Fee totally wouldnt survive without them making her chocolate every day after classes.Nooope.
Looking around she noticed a very familiar face.As she approached the girl s wide smile spread on her face. They hadnt met up in soooo long. Woaaah."Heeyyyy Kurumi",she said happily,"what are you baking?"It was fascinating how passinate the Gryffie was about that. She really must spend most of her time at the kitchen and ti was great to meet her here. The Slytherin really didnt want to see their cliwue separating. Not cool.

Kurumi looked up from her notebook to see Fee just as sparkly as ever. "Fee! Hi," she smiled setting her notebook on the counter just in time for Twinkle to reappear with a giant basket full of pears. "Well, Twinkle here told me that pears are in season right now, so I thought I would try out one of my pear recipes." She grabbed a large bowl from one of the bottom cupboards. "I kind of need something to help clear my mind." And what better way than to bake?

Cute little thing.Hehe."Ohh sooo its gonna be a pear cake?",she asked," i need to try a piece when its done. Can i help you with something?"Maybe the blonde would finally figure out how Kurumi's bakings always tasted so incredebly good. "Clear your mind?",the Slytherinwrinkled her forehead,"did something happen?"Didnt sound to good at least and let Fee worry. She really wanted to see her friend happy.

"More like pear cookies, but I am going to use some cake mix I made before I came," Kurumi smiled pulling the container from her bag and setting it on the counter next to the bowl. "I'd love it if you baked with me. Cookies always taste better when made with friends." Very true statement.
Had something happened? More like what hadn't happened recently. There was the whole situation with Adam, her family research, Mr. Ikenna, the reading she had just received from Salander, the almost wizarding smack down that happened at the end of Defense Against the Dart Arts...there was a lot on Kurumi's mind. "A lot of things are happening all at once," Kurumi frowned at Fee. "I assume you heard about Adam?" She went to the oven and preheated oven to 350 degrees.

The Slytherin sighed when her friend began to explain what was going on in her life. Soundes really, really sad.Why was it that one of them always had to have drama?!;Meeeh."Yeah i did",she said,"i am so sorry Kurumi. How are you going to carry on?"Hopefully they wouldnt have a break up like the one Fee and Edmond had last year. "Baking is one of the few things I ever did with my mother that made me feel like I was good enough," she smiled. She had meant for that to sound more positive than it had come out. It was something that really meant a lot to her, her mother's approval that is. "Whenever we baked together, it was like all the stress and fear that was in out lives just vanished. Life became as sweet and the sweets we were making."
"I don't know what is going to happen," Kurumi shrugged now mixing cake mix, butter, light brown sugar, eggs, and nutmeg in a yellow bowl. "Adam is choosing to go. No one is forcing him to leave...so I can't really be mad at him for it." She stopped stirring for a moment to look at Fee and offer her friend a brave smile. Well, as brave a one as she could muster. Think of the cookies...just think of the cookies... "I'll have no choice but to move on, no matter what decision Adam makes. He will, so I must." She really sounded much braver than she was feeling on the inside.

Fee shook her head a little at the Gryffindor. How could she think baking was the only thing she was good at ? That was soooo wrong."Kurumi you know it isnt true",she said,"you are good at many more things. You are such an amazing person, dont ever forget that."But Kurumi didnt have it easy, so she forgot about that fact too often. Now it was Fee's part to remember her of it."But if baking helped you its really good",the girl nodded,"everything that lets you escape for a moment is."
Oh glitter, really?!This seemed so much like the drama she had last year. Why did they have to separate from people they loved? God,it wasnt fair."I thought is parents were forcing him?",she asked a little bit confused. The Slytherin would need to talk to that guy if he left Kurumi just because he wanted to. Hello?!Kurumi sounded sooo brave, but Fee knew deep down she wasnt. After all they had been through she new her friend well."You know you can be honest with me",the blonde muttered more to herself,"i am gonna do anything to make it better for you."There was no way she would just let her friend suffer.

Kurumi dropped the wooden spoon on the floor mid stir. Fee was right, she really wasn't being honest with herself when it came to Adam and his leaving. The truth was, the night Adam had told her...she had cried under the covers with her face smashed into the pillow in attempt to muffle her sobs. Even Walnut had known something was up with her as he snuggled his way under the covers and slept with his nose centimeters away from hers. "No, he said he decided to go with them...for the adventure of it," she said trying to have her raven locks hide her face. She used the sleeve of her robe to dry the tears that were trying to form. They would only make the cookies salty. "The, the, the truth is Fee...I-I-I-I don't want him to leave..." she said as she roughly grabbed the container of cake mixture to add more to the bowl. She had grabbed it so forcefully that some of the powder jumped out of the container and into the air only to come falling down on her like powdered snow. "It-It-It frightens me...but...he shouldn't stay behind just because of me..."

As Kurumi dropped the spoon Fee sighed a little. Good, finally she would be honest with Fee. It made her angry that Adam decided to leave just because he wanted to.Really, she would have nevier though of him like that. Didnt he see how much it hurt his girlfriend?!Such an idiot."Thats not fair",the blonde shook her head,"i mean he acts like a total idiot."It was horrible, really. For the adventure of it, pfffff. That was no reason. Noticing the tears forming in her friends eyes the Slytherin took a step closer."Shhh",she whispered throwing her arms around the Gryffindor.Oh my god, how she hated to see her friends cry."I know,I know, I know",the second year muttered next to Kurmumi's ear,"its gonna be hard but i made it and you are so much stronger than me and i am gonna be here for you."Everything would be okay, even if it took really long.Fee wouldnt give up on her. And then she raised an eyebrow at her friend."You are much to selfless",the girl said,"its not just because of you.You are an important person in his life and he should pay attention to your feelings."

Kurumi picked up the spoon and cast Scourgify on it to remove whatever bits of dirt it had gained from being on the ground. Adam and her had talked, for a long time actually about his leaving. He had even thought of breaking up with her and completely removing himself from her life. No letters. No contact at all.
Before Kurumi could speak again, Fee's arms were around her and Kurumi could no longer hold back her tears. She felt like a 3-year-old whose ice cream had fallen on to the ground and was now melting in the hot sun. No, it wasn't fair that this was happening, but there was very little she could do about it. "I can't tell Adam not to go," she said through all her tears. "What if Adam told me to stop baking? That is something I can't do. Maybe it is the same with Adam...he just can't not go."

Well, probably on time. Wesley couldn't exactly tell; all of her watches were currently compasses, and she wasn't sure how to turn them back.
Iris smiled at the pile of cookies in front of her friend. "Got enough cookies there? Enough to want to share?" She asked, waving back. The prefect sat down opposite Wesley, then eyed the cookies for a moment.
Omnomnom.
Hehe.
Iris took her bag off, and sat it down on the table. "Sooo... How're you liking being a Prefect?" She asked, grinning. Yeah. She wanted to catch up with her friend before starting the homework.

Alex had finally found his way to the kitchen! He fought the urge to dance around and cheer, no wait he didn't fight it; he did it. Jumping around almost squealing like a fangirl he threw his arms up in the air. When he was done he glanced around him like the ninja that he was. No one saw right? Phew.
He put on his usually lazy grin and popped his head inside the kitchen, thank Merlin that he had understood how to get there. Although, the house elves would probably get annoyed at him for hanging around too much. This would be his Common Room, dorm, classroom and the Great Hall all smashes together. (Should he have brought a sleeping bag or something?) He walked in happily looking around him at the students that had managed to get in before him, acting like he wasn't happy like a five year old at Christmas he put his hands in his pockets and smiled innocently. Now, where was the food?
He noticed two familiar girls not far away, perhaps they knew? Oh sneaky indeed Mr. Reed. He strolled over there with a friendly smile.

"Hey guys." he said happily.
Kurumi spun around to see Alex and then completed her spin so she was facing the same direction she had been - looking into the bowl. To him, she probably looked like some awkward ballerina and he probably didn't notice the tears that had just begun to fall from her eyes. Good, she could use a distraction before she started the waterworks and then these pear cookies never got baked.
"H-H-H-Hello," Kurumi said drying her tears before looking over her shoulder at him and resuming her stirring of the ingredients. She still needed to chop up the pears...but her using a knife was probably not a good idea at the moment. "H-H-How are you? I haven't seen you since...the summer was it?"

Being on the pink fluffy manly clouds that he was, Alex understood nothing. Could be because his mind was filled with happy thoughts or it could be because he was a guy but he didn't notice Kurumi being sad. The word 'sad' didn't exist in his mind at that moment.
"I'm good, good." he nodded. Wait, he had just repeated a word... Oh well, he was good good. He was extremely good good because he had just found the kitchen! Na na na nanaaana. *Manly grunt* "I know it has been a while, how have you been?" he asked and waaas she making cookies? Could he take a peek over her shoulder, pfft nah he couldn't do that. Or could he? He was a ninja after all, perhaps just a sneak peek.
Alex could be discrete, he knew how to.
"What are you doing?" he asked curiously. He had no idea what happened to discrete, at that moment he just wanted to know. Uh-huh.

"I've been...alright," Kurumi nodded a little too enthusiastically as she continued to stir. Some of the batter flew all over the counter, but she could clean that up easily enough.
It was actually refreshing to have two bubbly people in the room. Between Alex and Fee, Kurumi was surprised that the kitchen hadn't exploded with rainbows and glitter. The thought made her giggle.
"We are making some cookies," Kurumi explained now finding the courage to turn and face him while holding the bowl of goodness in front of her. "I need to chop up those pears next," she said glancing back and forth between Alex and the chopping board. "Want to help? You can have first dibs on the finished product."
Yeah, right now Kurumi and knives was not a good idea. She would probably lose a finger or something.

Yeah, right now Kurumi and knives was not a good idea. She would probably lose a finger or something.
Alex watched some of the batter flying all over the place when Kurumi stirred. It's raining cake! Hallelujha, it's raining cake! Raining caake! He watched it delighted with a happy smile. Wiiie.
First dibs? His whole face lit up and he nodded vigorously, why couldn't he nod like a normal person? Because he was excited that's why. He grinned like a mad man and took the knife. Now he looked even more like a mad man.
"I can chop!" he exclaimed.
Creepy to say the least.
He didn't care, he was a happy boy at that moment who cared if he behaved like a girl or seemed like a creep. He was Alexander Reed, and he loved it.
"So, like how do I do it?" he asked looking at the pears.
Mmmm.... The smell of this place was fantastic, really the Hufflepuffs did choose a fantastic place to stick their common room, though she was still definitely won over by her, or rather their Common Room under the Lake. It was amazing down there, not too hot and certainly less busy then most of the places around the Castle. A lot of other house members, especially the younger ones were probably too scared to go down there. Besides the smell would probably get annoying after a while. "I wouldn't recommended offending the Hufflepuffs up here, their common room is just down the corridor" she giggled, not that, that would stop anyone. Her hand remained firmly in his, her eyes drifting down quickly and then back up to where she was heading. She felt strangely relaxed, comfortable even, in fact she could even go as far as saying it felt perfectly natural. A..date? Was he being serious there, or just playing with her. The blonde raised her eyebrow as she looked at him, smiling genuinely. "Yeah. I guess it is." If that was what they were going to call it.. she'd be perfectly fine with that.
Maybe.. well okay she was a bit of a swot, at least she certainly USED to be. This year she had kept on being distracted, her homework wasn't completely kept up to date, she really needed to do something about that, she was supposed to set a good example after all. "I don't know really. I used to have my best friend here, we used to mess about.. well not mess.. oh you get what I mean" she scrunched up her nose a little before relaxing at the mention of Quidditch. "I used to. I guess I still do at home, dad was professional, he played with the Muggle Studies Professor" she informed him. "I was on the team...But we didn't have it last term and I'm too busy to try out this term." Yeah. Huge sigh! "Why? Do YOU play?" It would be pretty amazing if he did, to have someone to practice with. She was surprised he knew about it though, guess it was something he had read up on before coming here.
Trixie mirrored his shudder, not intentionally, just the thought was quite, disturbing if you thought about it. "Yeah. And it also seems, more believable I suppose" she pondered. It wasn't exactly something she'd thought a lot about, she was just used to them floating around the place, like they were embedded in the schools foundations. "Have you ever had the feeling that a paintings eyes were following you? Well here they really do" it was clear in her voice that she was amused. "I don't really know how they work, they just.. do. Most are famous Wizards and Witches.. They're kinda like memories too then. Memories captured in paintings" if that made any sense whatsoever. Her eyes wandered over to a very offended looking painting, to which she had to respond with the rolling of her eyes. "They can hear you, you know" she told him with a wink.
Oh now she looked in them, his eyes were actually really quite pretty. But he trailed off at her question and he looked a little sheepish to say the least. She wouldn't mind if people did. "Good. Neither would I" she replied looking straight up at him, a pretty smile on her delicate face. But the absence of his smile worried her, had she said something wrong again? "I don't HAVE to do this though you know? I chose to.." if that was what he was worried about. As she had said before, Hogwarts students just thought whatever they like.
"Oh I see" she relaxed a little. Was that Common in Muggle Schools then? Or for people his age. Because Trixie would have HATE to be mocked, well some people were allowed to because it was just in their nature, but anyone else, no it would probably make her incredibly unconfident about herself. "Yeah I get that" she looked him up and down once. Yes appearances could be perceptive but he certainly LOOKED like someone who could take care of themselves. "Just a little. No I don't judge on appearances.. well.. everyone does it don't they?" she bit her lip a little catiously. "Dont tell me there wasn't just a small thought in your head that claimed I would be a dumb blonde?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "Change is good though isn't it? Well it CAN be. If your a bit of a swot.." rather like herself. Shh.. ".. You'll enjoy learning all this new information." Did that help at all?
Um. Why were his eyes widening like that? *Flail* Should she just shut her mouth and not mention anything else today? Because she kept on saying the wrong things apparently. Except this one seemed to be quite a happy or shocked that was probably a better word for it, expression. "I don't lie. Course I mean that. I haven't smiled in quite a while" the Slytherin confessed. Pay her back?"How exactly?" the seventeen year old asked curiously, almost cheekily though. Well she was interested in what that meant. There wasn't anything she particularly wanted. Her eyebrow shot up AGAIN as she spoke.
And the more she spoke to him, the more she realised that he was completely different to what he first appeared to be. In fact it was quite clear he was maybe a little shy, not now obviously, but it was cute. Very cute. "Good. Honestly I don't like to go on about being "well off" to anyone." Insert inverted commas with her fingers. "I think its great to have such variety in a place like this. Hearing each others stories is fascinating" and that sounded slightly pathetic. Oh dear. He picked up on the farm thing. "Its only horses really. Well there are a few other animals and.. the erm.. house" which it will remain as from now on. Unless he visited her then it would be.. more than a house. Oh and the treehouse. Yeah. Cough. "Never? Really?" she was shocked. How could someone have never been to the country? It was so stunning. "We're kinda in the countryside right now" she stated. Hogwarts grounds were impressive werent they? "But summer, I'm taking you to Wales" she told him, with no backing out. London? JUST London? "Ive... been to London before..." Was he ashamed or something?
Exactly. So with a little tutoring from me and a LOT of hard work in lessons, it will be a breeze. I promise Pinky promise if she had too, but she was sure he wouldn't want to do something cheesy like that. "Great" she raised both her eyebrows quickly and smirked, noticing the small hand squeeze, the Head Girl smiled down at their hands. Well that was.. pleasant. "Do WHAT..?!" the Blonde gasped and shook her head. ".. Goodness no. Thats inhumane. Heck half the students here are Muggle Born, we're not going to do that to torture them are we?" she asked still shocked by the statement. "No. Jeremy.. I mean the Professor is Muggle Born himself, I think. We just get taught their ways of life if you get what I mean? Like last year we learned how to play baseball" until it got wrecked with a huge amount of drama on Trixies behalf.. Oops. "And we've learned how to do first aid and... Stuff with telephones" Err.. Well that was all she could remember anyway.
Oh my jeez. Did she just have some automatic connection with this family or something? Or was it just that they were all completely amazing? Because she seemed to have picked up two of them so far. We're there any more?! "He's moved out since though hasn't he? In with his.. " her voice lowered and the smile wiped off of her face. ".. Friend" HMPH! Eh. Missing him wasn't the worse of it all. "You could say that.." her expression changed completely to one of sadness. Ergh. Stupid cruel age gap. Still at least Freddie was here to keep her company. If it wasn't for him she'd probably end up moping in a dark corner of the dungeons. Anyway, moving on to more cheerful subjects. Like Freddie. Yeah..
Oh dear. The poking out of the tongue was probably a little TOO extreme wasn't it? But it was fun and she needed to let loose once in a while after all. "The only brave thing Ive ever does it to.." she paused and trailed off at the thought. Err.. Yeah he probably wouldn't want to hear this. But she'd left the sentence mid open, yet it would take a very long time to fully explain the memory loss story to him. She would if he wanted her to but she'd leave it at that for now. Brava whatta? She couldn't ever be a Gryffindor and that was basically that. She was happy and proud to be a snake where she truly belonged.
Okay. So now he was just being picky. Trix rolled her eyes at Freddie before choosing to answer, slipping in behind him into the large space and standing away from the door in case anyone was to come in. Not that they were exactly doing anything wrong, they had free will to be here. "Not really if your using your quick wit to think of some incredibly shifty plan to dominate the world" she ended the last bit sarcastically, that was what people thought right? "We use our wit in a different way to those brain boxes on the seventh floor" she smirked.
Slaves was a harsh word to describe them as. Trixie watched a pair prepare some food, sighing slightly as she thought about the work that they did have to do. "They're free elves, they just chose to be here, they like to work for us" she smiled. "Its always been there life, plus they make amazing food, it would be cruel of them to leave us" she pouted. Her eyes followed to the pasty on the side before turning back. "No I'm sure they wouldn't. Food IS for eating" she grinned.
At the mention of the location of the the Huffie Common Room, Freddie looked around shiftily, before looking back at Trixie with a small smirk on his face, his free hand raising to clamp across his mouth as if he'd said something particularly cheeky to a figure in authority and, although Trixie did have some authority, she didn't count as she'd been poking light fun at the badgers only moments before. “Oops. I better shut it then.” He said clearly amused by the situation. The words, 'it's a date then', were not objected to and Freds found that rare smile creeping it's way across his face once again. It seemed to be happening a lot around this girl. Weird.
He listened to her as they walked, turning his head to look at the Head Girl when she scrunched up her nose. Now that was cute. His eyebrows raised a little when she professed that her dad had been a professional Quidditch player along with the Muggle Studies professor. “That's cool.” He said quietly, thoughtfully, then shook his head. “Me?” He asked incredulously. “No.. no. I've never even been on a broom before.. but it's in my blood, I guess.” He gave a small shrug. “My cousin was captain here.. and a couple of my ancestors were pro players.” But that meant nothing didn't it? Freddie didn't even know what a Snitch was let alone a Bludger.
He felt Trixie shudder beside him and the temptation to put an arm around her in an effort to provide some sort of comfort was almost overwhelming. He strangely felt protective towards this girl and he didn't quite know why. It was made weirder by the fact that Trixie was clearly someone who could look after herself. He bit his bottom lip, his eyes focusing on the floor about two feet ahead of them as she continued to talk and he remained quietly contemplative. He nodded in agreement: it was more believable. He looked up at her, shrugging to her question. “Yeah.” He eyed a portrait just behind her. “It's really creepy when you're not used to it.” His eyes flitted back to Trixie's in surprise. They could hear?“They can?” He frowned. “But they're everywhere. I wondered why I felt like I was being watched the whole time I've been here.” He looked away and thought for a moment. “Suppose this means you can't get away with much if the walls have eyes and ears.” Not a nice thought.. especially for someone like Freddie Broadmoor.
She.. wait... She wouldn't mind if people thought-- Freddie gulped. He wasn't expecting that at all. He gave her a small smile, one that actually touched his eyes as he looked down at the smaller blonde girl. He wasn't sure whether he should say anything, DO anything... Kiss her? Would she accept it? Or would she push him away and tell him he wasn't in her LEAGUE! This girl was NOTHING like the girls at Fred's old school - they were forward in their affections and open about what they were thinking. Freddie had been popular; he was intelligent; a leadership figure in a way, and therefore had never been in this position before. He might have gone in for the kill had he not suddenly felt so awkward about who he was and what Trixie thought about him ..so instead he just continued to hold her hand.
The mocking at his old school was nothing to fret over. Just lads being lads. He wasn't sure Trixie understood where he was coming from but her body language appeared relax and unconcerned. He had to smile slightly when she looked him up and down, coming to the conclusion that, yes, he could look after himself perfectly well. He nodded. “Course they do. My first impression of you wasn't...” He trailed off deciding not to finish that sentence for fear of getting a smack. On appearances alone, he wasn't sure he even liked Trixie at first. He'd been proved wrong though hadn't he? He shook his head. “Dumb blonde? No.” He said honestly. “That's really not what I thought. You don't look.. unintelligent.” No lobotomised dimness in this girl's eyes. You could tell A LOT about a person purely by their eyes and Trixie's were bright and pretty and had a slight mischievous glint in them. He liked that about her. He nodded: yeah, change COULD be good. He just wasn't all that chuffed about this particular change. “There's so much to take it in, a lot of it's going straight over my head.” He admitted with a dismissive shrug of the shoulders.
He looked at her curiously when she echoed his words of earlier, 'I don't lie', and she was smiling again. How exactly? What was that supposed to mean? “Well...” he tilted his head to the side and thought about this. “..How would YOU like me to make it up to you?” He smirked slightly knowing the line had sounded more than just a little flirtatious as it left his lips.
The chat about money was rather uncomfortable for Freddie, but he was pleased when it morphed into how there was a variety of kids at the school. It was one of the first things he had noticed here... and that was even before the discovery of blood status. By the sounds of it Trixie lived in a mansion, and Freds was aware that she was avoiding saying it. “So your house is big?” He asked directly. She had HORSES! She must have had land. He nodded. “Nah.. I was born in London and that's where I've always stayed.” She had a point.. but Freddie had always thought of the countryside as something like the trees and hills of the Cotswolds, not rugged mountainous Scotland. “Wales?” He queried. “Thanks.. but why Wales?” Urh.. she had picked up on his question dodging. He frowned and sighed. “You can't have seen ALL of London.” He mumbled. Nope. She was NOT going near his home!
A breeze? Trixie was a lot more optimistic than Freds was about this. “No promises.” He replied. “You shouldn't promise something that you can't guarantee.” Wasn't it bad luck or something? ..Eh.. but since when had Freddie been superstitious? “But I'll work hard. I'm going to TRY and get decent grades if I can.”
Trixie seemed rather startled by the skinhead's question. His brow furrowed but soon smoothed out when Trixie quashed his silly rather nightmare inducing ideas. “The title.. it just implies..” He trailed off and just listened to the Head Girl as she listed what they got up to in 'Muggle Studies'. 'Their way of life?' It did make muggles sound like they were chimps. “So basically I'm going to class to learn how to live without magic?” He asked, his eyebrows raising and a small smirk playing on his lips. “..Seems a bit pointless considering I was up until under a year ago.” He smiled properly. Telephones? So maybe Trixie was right when she said he would pass at least one exam.
Freddie nodded. Yeah.. Oliver had moved out. “Girlfriend.” He corrected the girl, curious as to why she had lowered her voice and so deliberately referred to Cameron as a 'friend'. His suspicious that Oliver and Trix had dated growing all the more as a result. But.. Trixie looked so sad all of a sudden that any hint of jealousy was quashed in that moment. “Sorry.” He mumbled softly, an arm snaking it's way around her shoulders to give her a gentle, reasurring squeeze. “You and he were obviously close.” Yeah. Close. It would have been easier to accept if it had been anyone other than his annoying cousin.
He raised his eyebrows and looked down at Trixie. The only brave thing she had ever done was... “What?” He asked with a slight chuckle. Why had she cut the sentence short?
Trixie was looking so suspicious that Freddie got the feeling they weren't supposed to be in the kitchens. He ignored it though. She was Head Girl – she could talk their way out of it no doubt. He caught the rolling of the eyes and knew that Trixie knew he was just being awkward just for the sake of it. Dominate the world? He smiled amusedly. Wits differently? Yeah, he'd clocked onto that pretty quickly and had said something similar before. “For making plans for world domination?” He nodded approvingly. “Yeah.. I guess I can roll with that.” He winked at the blonde.
Free elves? So that meant they'd been given.. clothes? Now that was such an odd concept to Freddie. “Maybe that would be different if we hadn't brainwashed them into believing that's their purpose.” Freddie replied, picking up a pasty whilst watching the elves scurry about doing their chores. He sat at a table and looked at Trixie expectantly, waiting for her to follow suit. “You're not eating?”
