| | | Gryffindor Common Room Gryffindor Common Room
The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through. "Flibbertigibbet!"
Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes!
That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home! There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby! |

He listened as she explained how she was a lousy potions maker and he shook his head. "You'll do fine, Soph. I just know it. You put so many hours into work and school, that I know you'll get even better than you think you can." He said, giving her hand a squeeze. She was a prefect after all.
He looked over from the fire towards Sophie. "Oh, well I always end up bumping into somebody along the way and they almost always have food. However, if they don't, I just go down to the Kitchens." He shrugged. He couldn't help his hunger.
Seb grinned as Sophie was telling him about how she was still wearing her necklace that he had given her earlier. It made him sort of feel special. He leaned over and gave her a kiss, backing away after a few seconds. "Thanks, Sophie." He smiled. "Have you now?" she asked as she playfully poked him in the side leaning back against the sofa she relaxed too. Sebastian wasn’t so far of it was quite comfortable just sitting there with him. She had been stressing all day and now she could unwind.
Hearing his comforting and supportive words Sophie leaned over and hugged sideways before pulling back. "Thank you. I’m just so nervous about achieving the OWL’s I want and Potions is so hard." Somehow she wondered if everyone expected her to do awesome on all the OWL’s just because she was a prefect.
As Sebastian explained what he did about his hunger Sophie couldn’t help but giggle warmly. "I’ll keep an apple for you then? Met anyone interesting lately?" She met all types of students on her patrols but on duty, her boyfriend on the other hand could roam the school and socialize a lot more. Feeling her stomach rumble a bit she tried to keep it out of her mind. Sitting in front of the fire with her boyfriend was a lot more soothing then the chatty Great Hall would be.

"Oh my news... it was ANNOUNCED at the awards thingy... Salander and I finally made up. And we are together now. Oh you should see the things he got me for Valentine's Day, Sabel. He is the sweetest man... He is such a gentleman too," she said with a whimsical look to her eyes. Sighs! Who knew a Slytherin boy would be so PERFECT for her. His expression started out as a smile and quickly fell to a frown and a rather displeased look displayed itself at how Lexi took his news to dating Arya. On the one hand he was glad that she was good with it and that she cared about him being hurt, on the other hand the mere mention of her hurting Arya had his protective side flaring hot red. "I appreciate the sentiment Lexi, but..." If you break her face I'll break your legs? Probably not the best way to put things. "I can handle my own heart, broken or not."
Again, probably not the best response, but if Lexi knew him she would know how much even a small statement like that would bother him, especially given it had been stated seriously.
And then his expression changed to one of confusion. They were announced as a couple at the tea party? From what he remembered they had been announced as the best date, not specifically stated as a couple. Maybe that was the same thing in some people's minds.
And then there was all the speech he had heard before from her, all the excitement and hope that came with each boy she had dated. His eyes went to the fire and he did his best to keep his expression blank. He hated the way he reacted to her news, that he couldn't be excited for her, but he had heard it before and the end had always been...ugly. What had happened to Ivan?
A scrub of his hand down his face had him turning back to Lexi with a small smile. "He sounds nice." Like all the other boys she had described.

SHe did not care what Sabel said about the situation... if she hurt Sabel, Lexi would hurt her. End of story. So simply nodding her head she moved on.
Seeing the confusion on his face she snapped her book closed. " He announced it himself when we went to get our award... well obviously you weren't paying attention," she said with a frown. Not that he ever paid attention now that he had Arya... everything was about her. Meh.
Sighing she slid out of the chair she had been inhabiting. Shaking her head she said, " I dunno why I tell you things... I can FEEL you judging me... or thinking something negative. Why must you always be so doom and gloom, Sabel? Sheesh. Lighten up sometime... you are barely an adult. Have some fun once in a while, stop being so ruddy serious, and stop being so judgmental. Now... I think I am going to go to my dormitory. If you'll excuse me." She had begun to speak in clipped tones and shook her head and pulled a face at him as she walked past, book clutched to her chest.

She had begun to speak in clipped tones and shook her head and pulled a face at him as she walked past, book clutched to her chest. He must have missed it. It hadn't exactly been his focus, given Arya had own an award herself. It didn't mean she had to get agitated at him for having his attention somewhere other than her.
When she moved, he didn't. He didn't even look away from the chair she had occupied. To his surprise, his tone came level and calm despite the agitation that was starting to well up in his gut. "And I don't know why you tell me things Lexi, if you always walk away when the conversation goes somewhere you don't like. Or when I get concerned about you or give you advice you don't like. I was under the impression friends were supposed to talk to one another, but it's a little hard to do if you keep walking away."
Because she did. Every. Single. Time. Last time he had grabbed her and forced her to stay and listen and that was the only way things had gotten resolved, because they had actually stayed to listen to one another. But she was doing it again and he just couldn't be bothered. And inability to want to do anything about it, hurt.

It's not like you can listen and be objective... or that you even CARE anymore," she said in a high pitched voice as she turned, drew her arm back and threw her book straight at his head.
" I walk away because it KILLS me that you think so little of me all the time. It HURTS. So... I am not really sure why I try anymore. Perhaps we should just face the facts... we can never truly be friends, can we? Never again will it be the same," she said as she took a deep, calming breath. Standing there, for once, tear free she looked at the boy she had considered her best friend for so long and simply shook her head in disdain.
" I need someone that cares about me and is willing to listen and NOT judge me or end up being mean to me because they think it is the right thing to do... YOU HURT ME. OVER AND OVER AGAIN," she shouted the last bit at him before turning away and grabbing onto the wall for support. It was killing her now... but perhaps it was best... perhaps it was time they faced the facts?

It was killing her now... but perhaps it was best... perhaps it was time they faced the facts? He wasn't expecting something to be thrown at him but maybe he should have? Then again, he wasn't expecting her to get so angry. The book wasn't light and she hadn't been gentle about it. Needless to say it really hurt when it connected with the side of his head and served well on knocking him to his side. For a moment, he rested on his elbows, blinking slowly at the black spots that floated over his vision as Lexi's words cut into him like a thousand shards of glass.
Silence fell between them as she finished, his heavy breathing the only thing that occupied his ears. Very slowly and with a few more rapid blinks, he pushed himself back up straight. He wouldn't rise to his feet; she wanted to tower above him in all her right and glory, she could well go ahead.
When he spoke, his voice came quiet and gentle. "You mistake my intentions Lexi. As usual." Reaching up, he put a hand to where the book had connected with his scalp, wincing at the fresh pain there. "I would die for you, and you know that." With his other, he flipped the book closed and drew it back to himself. "You think I think you as little and you think I judge you. I don't, or I try very hard not to. I have accepted we have our differences on viewing the world and that is that."
This time, he pushed himself to his feet, going slow so he wouldn't add further damage to the projectiles work. "I am concerned for you. That is all. I am concerned about every one of my friends." Moving over to her, he stopped beside her, sadness on his expression. "If you want me to coddle you, it's not going to happen. I have told you before I will be honest with you, because that is what friends do. You do not have to like what I say or accept it, but you do have to realize it is not to hurt you. I care for you. More than you can ever know."
Reaching out, he took her hand in his and replaced the book in it. "Beat me if you think it will make things better."

She didn't even smile as the book hit it's intended mark... although it DID feel great to hit him with something. Very great. The silence that followed her outburst was resounding though... like the aftermath of a nuclear bomb. Just... nothing. For what felt like an eternity.
" Please, Sabel. Save that self sacrificing waffle for someone else. I don't want to hear that rubbish. And if you had TRULY accepted that we have different views on the world then you wouldn't have to TRY not to judge me, Sabel. Don't you see that?" she said quietly as she clutched the stone wall for support.
She made a noise deep in her throat that was something between a scoff and a laugh and took the book from him with a hard snap, " I have never in my life been coddled by anyone. Or do you not remember my past? And gladly..." She spun on him quickly and began to smack him repeatedly with the book in her hands. Anywhere she could make it connect, she hit him and let out sounds between rage and utter sadness. She swung that book until her arms hurt from the effort and they swing itself grew weak.

Anywhere she could make it connect, she hit him and let out sounds between rage and utter sadness. She swung that book until her arms hurt from the effort and they swing itself grew weak. Okay, so maybe he had been expecting her to get some revelation about beating her friend in anger, but apparently that was not the way Lexi's mind worked. Rage before thought, emotion before consideration; the same as him. No wonder they fought so much.
The first hit of the book startled him slightly, but at the same time it was somewhat expected. He did nothing to stop her or to try and defend himself, hoping somewhere it would trigger a realization within her that he did care about her. Perhaps she didn't think he could listen properly, so if it took him being her punching bag to show her how he wasn't leaving, that he would stand with her, then so be it.
Only when she started slowly and the smacks became weaker, did he reach up and gently grab hold of her wrist to stop her, tears pressing at the corners of his eyes, and not from the beating either. His own body trembled from the pain and tension of the blows, his breathing short as pain flared through his ribs. It was relatable to feeling like he had just been caught in a landslide of sharp rocks, both mentally and physically. It was hard to discern which way was up.

The first hit of the book startled him slightly, but at the same time it was somewhat expected. He did nothing to stop her or to try and defend himself, hoping somewhere it would trigger a realization within her that he did care about her. Only when he grabbed her did she look at him... REALLY look at him. " You'll leave me like everyone else... No one stays with me. Not even my OWN FAMILY. If they don't love me who else will? Not even my friends, surely. You will leave here and forget all about me... like I never existed. I am THAT forgetable," she mumbled miserably. There it was... Mommy and Daddy issues. Didn't it always come back to that?
Her little frame shook all over and she simply stood staring at him for a long moment after she finished speaking. Her mouth working like she wanted to say something, but it wouldn't come out. Then finally she cleared her throat and looked at him firecely. " If you cry I swear I will beat you again," she said in a scathing tone as she tried WEAKLY to pull out of his grip, dropping the book in the process. Secretly she hoped it hit his toe when it fell.
Why she was so angry with Sabel was beyond her... maybe it was just... that passion that she had once felt for him... the rejection... the pain. It made it easier to take her feelings out on him. She wanted to kick him. |Beat him some more. Get it all out. But now... all she could do was finally let those tears start to fall and crumble toward the floor.

He was silent as she raged at him again, threatened him again. All he could do was watch her with sadness, unable to remove the tears from his eyes. Every time he thought he knew how damaged and hurt Lexi was, she showed him another layer. He could only pray that this was the last level.
When she crumbled, his reaction was immediate, moving forward and gathering her in his arms. He didn't stop the downward progression, didn't deny her that, but he wouldn't let her sit on the floor, feeling nothing but loneliness. And so he held her close, resting against the wall with her, hoping somehow she would understand. Speaking only made her angry, only forwarded words she didn't want to hear, so maybe it was time for actions to do the talking.

As Lexi moved toward the ground and Sabel caught her she feebly swatted at the boy a few times, tried to push him away, but it was a weak attempt and she knew that HE knew she needed him right then.
She finally stopped fighting him and just clung to the front of his robes for dear life as she silently cried. Where was her mum and dad? Why didn't they come back... for her? Why had Dylan not been keeping in touch with his own sister? It all hurt her so badly. Adandonment issues at their finest, me thinks.
Her body shook with each silent sob as she lay broken in Sabel's arms again. " Why won't they come back?" she whispered.

Wrapping his arms tighter around her despite the pain from their beating, he rested his head on top of hers, as if trying to shield her from the world. He didn't know what to say, didn't know where her family was. He wished he did. He wished he could help her. There was still hope, that her family was out there, that they would come back, but he understood the pain of being torn apart from someone, from being unable to see or hear from them.
Silence held his tongue as he rocked her. He just didn't know what to say.

Silence held his tongue as he rocked her. He just didn't know what to say. Sabel's embrace made her feel a bit safer than she had in a while. She felt raw, crazy, on edge... it had been building for so long... she thought that her talks with Madame Donovan were helping her, but clearly they were not.
She continued her silent breakdown and buried her face in his chest, gripping his robes so tightly that her fingers ached from the effort. She let him rock her and hold her... that was all she could do for the moment.
" What if... they never come back? What do I do then? I know I have the Denver's... but it isn't the same. I know they aren't my real family... my real family is terrible, but I love them all the same. They are out there somewhere and Merlin knows what has happened to them and it is slowly killing me inside," she said into his chest, her voice slightly muffled as she spoke.

So she could beat him later; he couldn't keep the tears back anymore. Closing his eyes, he gave the top of her head a gentle kiss, a tear running down his cheek silently.
He could try and tell her it would be okay, that she would see them again, that everything would work out fine, but he knew there was no comfort for the emptiness and abandonment she was feeling. There was nothing anyone could say that would make it better. Only getting your loved one back could make it better, and he hoped beyond everything that she wouldn't lose them completely.

Her body finally stopped shaking with her soundless sobs and she loosened her grip on his robes a bit. " Mummy and Daddy issues... what can you do?" she said in a shaky voice, trying to play it off as a joke now...
She couldn't stand to look at Sabel yet, she fet the tear drop into her hair. She had upset him... she had taken her woes out on him. Again. Crap. " Sorry I hit you with that book," she said as she lay her cheek against his chest, right over his heart.
She knew she had been wrong in saying that he would forget her... she hoped. She hoped that it was just her own issues manifesting themself in that way. She clung to the boy and sighed. " I am just sorry I am so bloody crazy," she said weakly.

She was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down her face. She took a deep breath and lifted herself off of the ground. "Why thank you Sir Knight of Gryffindor. Your opinion means a lot." She wiped the tears from her face and took another look at her parchment. "I will finish the letter. No- I must finish it. Once I know what to write it should become easy."

I actually like all sports because they usually just come so easy to me." Jacob laughed and said "So are you any good at football?" Jacob was glad he had made a new friend. Nika was a really nice girl so he smiled even wider.

"I have played since I was really young so I would hope I play well." Nika was happy that she had something to talk about with Jacob. Most of her friends weren't really into sports, well besides Selina but she only played Quidditch. "We should go out on the field and play one time." She was really missing sports.
