"Sounds great!" He said taking his toy spider out of his bag and placing it on top of the table. "The movement is an eight on its side, and the spell is Arania Exumai." He explained as he searched for his wand. "Ladies first." He was mostly nervous to go first, considering the audience in the common room, but even if he wasn't he would still let Rose go first.

Rose smiled and stared at the spider. Stareeee. Staaaaaaaree. Okay. She could imagine it moving, so it was therefore going to happen. Well, maybe not, but it was all that positive thinking stuff, right? Anyway. Moving her wand in an awkward sideways number eight, she murmered the incantation. 'Arania Exumai!' and.....

Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero... you get the picture. She looked at the spider for a second, disappointed, and tried again. 'Arania Exumai!' she looked back at the spider eagerly. Still nothing. What a disappointment.

"Don't worry," Eino said in consolation. "I can't do much better." It had taken him a while to get the slightest sign when he first practiced, and although he had been somewhat successful in class, he could not achieve the same result. "We just have to keep practicing, and I am sure it will pay off!" He encourage his fellow Ravenclaw.

Natalie wandered into the comman room all alone.

After the Ravenclaw girl, Eino took a turn at practicing the spell on his toy spider. He pointed his wand at it, drew the infinity symbol, and exclaimed: "Arania Exumai!" Again, a very dim silver light appeared and barely touched the toy. He complained, then his eye caught another Ravenclaw girl who had just entered the room by herself. He waved and invited her to join him and Rose. He thought it would be fun to have a studying or practicing group, and it would be a good way to make new friends.

Natalie walked over to the boy as he waved her over. "I'm Natalie," she said. there was a fearlessness in her voice, along with this very happy vibe that seemed to come from her. She sat down beside him and pushed her hair out of her face.

Hugo walked into the common room after studying in the library. He was such a nerd.

"Hi," he smiled at the two Ravies.

"Hi, Natalie. I'm Eino." The Ravenclaw girl seemed very friendly and outgoing. He had met so many people so far, but the more the merrier, and just as that thought occurred another Ravenclaw joined the group. "Hi there. I'm Eino, what's your name?" He greeted the Ravenclaw boy and extended his hand. "We're just practicing if you guys want to join in that would be great!"

"Well I think we've met before... But okay. I'm Hugo," he said and shook his hand.
"Again." he looked at the wand Eino was holding and pulled out his own.
The sun through the big window made his Chestnut wand look extra beautiful.
"I didn't catch the last CoMC, but I'll give it a try."

"Oh, you do look familiar, but I couldn't remember your name." Eino said apologetically. He had met so many people and he could barely remember all of their names. "Okay, sure! The incantation is 'Arania Exumai.'" He explained hoping he had pronounced the spell correctly. Then he moved aside to allow for Hugo to cast the spell on the toy spider.

Hugo grabbed his wand tightly. He pointed it at the toy spider and said:
"Arania Exumai!" A burst of white light shot through his wand.
The spider got blown off the table.
Sweeeeeet. "Awesome," he smiled.

"Impressive!" Eino couldn't believe Hugo had successfully casted the spell the first time he tried and he hadn't gone to CoMC class. He wished he could cast spells as easily, but he had acknowledged that that wasn't his expertise. He was determined to improve, and quickly too. He took his wand in his hand, with a tight grip, and said "Arania Exumai!" This time, a strong light emitted from his wand and blasted the spider a few feet away. It was progress, but still not perfect, and he was satisfied with it. "Who wants to go next?"

Pam walked into the commons, and saw a girl who looked about her age sitting alone. Pam didn't really feel like talking, but she sat next to the girl, in need of company.

"Hello," Natalie said with a smiled, offering her hand to shake.

"Nice to meet you Eino." Natalie said happily. She like meeting new people. "I'm a first year. What about you?"

Walking through the common room door, JD is still covered with food dripping everywhere. That evil, evil Lafay... he thought miserably. He couldn't even walk properly it felt like he still had a spaghetti worm or two up the legs of his pants.

Nia was sitting curled up in her favourite armchair in front of the fireplace. Her legs were tucked underneath her, and a large textbook rested on her lap. Her fingers ran across the surface of the page, tracing the words as she read them. She was focused on revising for her exams.

But then...where was that dripping noise coming from? And why was the smell of food wafting in her direction?

She curiously lifted her gaze in the direction of the portrait hole. Standing there, covered in food, was JD. She rolled her eyes, shutting her book with a snap. "Another food fight?" She raised an eyebrow. "You could have at least cleaned yourself up before coming into the Common Room."

Hearing Nia's voice coming from over by the fire, JD looks stony. "No, it was not a food fight. It was Lafay!" Oh, was he ever going to get her back for this one... he thought miserably.

"I just want a nice hot shower...and bed." he muttered coming closer, knowing that he was dripping everywhere. Blinking as a piece of mashed potato fell from his bangs onto his nose, he flicked off angrily. "Never let a pie fly out of your hands near her..."

As Prefect, and slightly stressed due to her exams and, ahem, recent events, Nia wasn't in the mood for a horrible mess being walked through the Common Room. And her study space.

"Lafay?" She eyed him doubtfully. Since when would the scary potions mistress get her hands mucky to cover a student in food? She didn't buy into it. It was disappointing. She still felt responsible for those in the Quidditch team, even if she wasn't their Captain this term.

"A shower sounds a good idea," she said with a nod. "And then you can clean up this mess." Usually Nia probably would have done it herself - especially as she figured he would have probably cleaned himself off earlier if you could have done. But between her having to conduct Prefect duties whilst she was having a lovely conversation at the ball due to his antics, his resulting points loss and all the other stuff on her mind, she wasn't in the mood.

She wrinkled her nose in disgust as the mashed potato fell to the floor. "Surely you should have known how she was going to react?" Nia commented flatly. They all knew Lafay was volatile. So, it might have been an accident. But still. He was the one that refused to try cleaning her.

"So, honestly. How did you get like that?" Despite her annoyance, she was...intrigued.

"Yes, Lafay." shaking his head he eyes the stuff that had fallen "as long as I don't have to eat it again to clean it up..." He would after scourgifying his mouth anyway.

"I'll just say it was a one-sided food fight and Simon and I were the targets." Making a face he squirmed feeling that noodle squiggle down his leg again.

Eurgh. The puddle he was making on the floor was gross. She pulled a face at it. "You can clean it however you like," she replied, not really hearing tohe bit about eating the mess. "But I would rather it's done before everyone else ahs to walk through it and spreads it further."

Wow, she was being tough today.

And then she realised what he had been upto. "Detention?" she asked. "Better there than at the ball," she commented. Though, she was starting to feel for him a little bit. He didn't look at all comfortable. And ewwww, was that noodle sliding down his leg? Yucky. "I'm sure it wasn't as simple as a one-sided food fight?" She was inviting him talk about it, perhaps softening a slightest bit.

Rolling his eyes, he could imagine what she was thinking besides. He was sure Ellie would be saying the same thing.

"Yes unfortunately." Turning fully toward her daring her to say something about it "Weren't you with Raiden?" he asks lifting his eyebrow knowingly with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah we got pummeled with every food imaginable by Lafay and were practically swimming in it." Making an aweful face he turned a little green "then she made us eat it before we could leave."

She crossed her arms over her chest. She really didn't know what to do with him. Ellie needed to get some sense into him. He was meant to be growing up, not receding in age and acting childishly.

"Raiden?" She questioned, frowning at his raised eyebrow. She didn't want to think of it too much as Raiden. It hurt more. Technically she had, but no one else should have known. He'd been the unrecognisable, anonymous masked man for the night. In character too. End of. "You must have been mistaken." She said with a small smile. "I was with...someone else."

She rolled her eys again. "Well, you didn't have to share that swimming experience with us," she pointed out, still pulling a face at the noodle. It was eurgh. She squirmed thinking about it. "Eat it? From the dungeon floor?" Okay, now he might be starting to get some sympathy.

Up until then, she couldn't exactly fault Lafay's choice of detention. It had seemed pretty apt, really. But now... She shuddered to think was unpleasantries were on the dungeon floor. Especially in the dentention dungeons. "...and you did it?"

His eyebrow lifting at her comment, he didn't reply, he had left early and he wondered what may have happened. Something must have happened, he'd recognized Raiden's voice immediately that night, when he'd spoken. But obviously Nia was trying to hide something when she made the last comment.

"Yes..." his face even more green than originally, he shuddered at the thought of what he'd just been throguh, "I didn't want to...but first she made these spaghetti noodles tie me to the wall by my ankles and wrists...than after letting me go, and I still refused...she made them go up..." looking down at his legs he squirmed again with the memory.

Not to mention another noodle started moving again, Blerghhhh. His face contorting in an even more disgusted look.

Nia was glad he didn't question her further. She could do without that awkwardness.

He didn't look too good. Not good at all. His face was turning a funny colour of green. Nia pulled her wand from her robes, and twirled it between her fingers, just in case. She really hoped if wouldn't be necessary though.

Tied to the wall by spaghetti? That sounded a bit more like Lafay. Nia's mood softened slightly. She almost giggled at the thought of the noodle up his leg. Not to be mean, but the thought of spaghetti as a wiggly worm was pretty funny. "I hope you learnt not to start food fight at a formal ball again," she said softly. "Quidditch parties...well, that's a different matter. Just make sure you get Ellie back for my icing shampoo last year." She winked, and her lips curled into a smile.

And with a quick flick of her wand, the noodles on his legs had disappeared.

He saw a funny look on her face when he mentioned the wall of spaghetti and noodles up his pants, shaking his head, he didn't think it was all that funny, but was sure it sounded amusing to others. "I never did start it, Simon hit me in the face with a pie." Why was it that he'd not started anything that term, but always seemed to be the one in trouble?

*sigh* he totally knew he wasn't getting prefect, not after this term, than again, did he really want that responsibility. Inwardly he giggled, because the thought of being such a perfect student to become a prefect amused him to no extent. It would be hilarious if say Jacob actually got it next term!

Laughing outright at the memory of the cake fight they'd had last term, he nodded "I think I can arrange that, he felt Ellie at least owed him a dance for not dancing with Peter Pan, he'd have to see that was for sure. Hmmm what could he do to get her back...it had to be inconspicuous.

Watching as she flicked her wand, and the noodles disappeared from his legs, he felt a little better, well as long as he didn't think of eating that stuff. "Thank you. Now I just need a shower and to scourgify my mouth for a few hours."
