Elora shook her head at him. " I am not very smart. I just seem it. Which sounds very egotistical of me, but that's why I'm always reading. To appear that I am smart." She thought about her night. "My night was boring... but it's getting better." she shifted herself so she was sitting indian style on the couch.

"That's not exactly an attitude smarts can thrive in," Kellen informed her, poking her knee. "Look at me. I'm an arrogant snob who thinks he's got enough brains to make something of himself, and I do just fine. What you need to do is stop trying so hard to appear being smart and just let yourself be smart."

He tucked his hands behind his head and smiled, "So says Kellen Stern. And I'm glad the night's picking up for you. I expect it'll be a pretty exciting time with the foreign students here."

And after being reading for a bit, Annie fell asleep again. UGH. Why, why?? Because she wasn't used to the whole getting up early again. She was only used to herself being a bit lazy at home, then heading for the trainings for football. Then a heard about the Triwizard Tournament came around, and made her peek her ear. Not that she wasn't so curious, but she noticed it was Kellen's voice with someone Annie didn't know.

After all, she didn't have to know everyone.

Elora blushed. Was he flirting or just being nice? She had no idea. And then hoped her cheeks weren't too red, even though she could feel how hot they were."I guess I could try, I mean, stop trying to act smart. And just be." she thought for a moment." There's just one problem... I've spent my whole life acting smart... I don't think I could just be smart. It's not as easy as it sounds." Elora slumped into the couch.

"Well, the first thing you have to do," Kellen instructed, "is stop depreciating yourself. That kind of stuff gets in your head, and your brain repeats it while you sleep." He wasn't about to go telling her to make a tape to play under her pillow while she slept, but if she wanted to go ahead and do that herself it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Then you..." He tilted his head a little and looked at her cheeks, "You feeling all right? We could sit further away from the fire if it's too hot for you."

Isabella walked dow the dorm stairs and into the common room silently and went and sat at the table which was strategically placed near the window.The chair looked as if someone just got up from there and there laid a book of sorts on the table.Reading the title of the book she smiled slightly and kept it aside.It was a muggle novel named 'A Walk To Remember'
Isabella looked around to see if someone comes back to take the book. But it looked as if the owner the book wasnt around.Leaving the book there she sat on the chair and tried to relax.
With her back leaning and her face looking up at the celing.She was trying to sort out things in her mind and trying to relax before the classes for her OWL year started in fulfledge

Elora fanned herself. "Ya, I'm fine. It is a little hot, but I will manage..." she lied. "I will definitely change my ways. If you'll help me?" she smiled and thought back to what he had said earlier. " I think having other students around will be a good experience. A great one. Making new friends and learning about new things is always a good thing."

He didn’t know what it was about her saying it, but he never wanted to be a professor more than he did now. Yea, he would make a good professor. He wouldn’t have thought about becoming one if he didn’t believe he could do it; though not one here at Hogwarts. Having seen a few things at the feast and in the common room already, the students acted in classes would probably be different then in Beauxbatons. He’d much prefer to work there instead. "I was zinking maybe…Charms?" Either that, or Transfiguration. He knew he would be able to teach both, so either would be fine. "Zough, zere is still much I need to learn. It would be awhile before zat would happen."

Smiling, almost proudly considering the mood he was in, he was happily surprise when she mentioned she did in fact, enjoy swimming. Aw, so he was mistaken. Happened every now and then of course. Though, this mention of a village… "Zey have a village outside of ze castle?" That must have been the part he missed when he fell asleep reading that book. Eh. If she wanted to go though, then he wasn't about to stop her. "Alright zen. On ze weekened when it iz open, we can go."

He was going right? Assuming it was still 'we'. Of course, she could meet up with her other friends as well if she wanted to… "Do you what iz in ze village?"

Walking down the girls dormitory steps, Cosette Soleil stopped on the last step that led into the Ravenclaw Dorm. She could admit that being away from France was something she wasn't used to, but she was dealing with it. When she becomes a sucessful Hit Wizard someday, she would have to be all over the globe for long amounts of time away from her mother country. This was merely a test of her will to be gone for so long.

Taking in a soft breath, she clutched her leather bound book and strolled over to one of the blue velvet plush arm chairs. When she sat down, she fixed her robe and wiggled into a somewhat comfortable position. She didn't know if wearing other clothes than uniform was against the rules, but she shrugged her shoulders. Black cotton shorts and a white long sleeve peasant blouse shouldn't be to much of a stretch. At least she still wore her robe over it.

Looking up for a brief moment, she saw Noel Laurent. Yes, she remembered meeting him once back at Beaubatons. It had just been a brief introduction in the halls, but she couldn't deny remembering his quite handsome bone structure. Raising a hand and giving him a soft wave and a small smile, she looked back down at her book, crossed one long pale leg over the other, and opened it up.

Jen walked downstairs and jokingly slapped her forehead because she forgot to pick up her book and take it upstairs with her. Silly Jen. Always forgetting things. she looked over by the chair she was sitting at and found a girl accupying it. Jen smiled and walked over to her. "Hello there." Jen said kindly. "Sorry, that's mine." she smiled at the girl and pointed to A Walk to Remember.

Pam sighed as she entered the common room. She didn't want to go to bed. She wanted to wait for JD to make sure he'd be ok. Well she figured he would be, but yea. She walked over to a chair by the fire, dropped her stuff down and brought her knees up to her chest. She sighed yet again. I hope he's ok. He didn't look too fine when I left. He seemed in alot of pain. she yawned, and mentally slapped herself. It had been a long day, and she wasn't going to let it end now. And miles, why was he laughing? Gack I hate it when people laugh at me. She made a pout face.

"If... I help you?" Kellen raised an eyebrow, a quizzical smile on his face, "Sure, I don't mind helping, but... I'm not entirely sure how."

It was one thing to tell her that she needed to be more confident, but he wasn't entirely sure that was something he could help teach someone. He nodded at what she said next, "Always good to meet new people. At best, you'll have found a lasting friend. At worst, you'll have someone new to tell all your favourite old stories to."

"Charms is a good subject to teach." She said with a head nod. "I vould attend your class." Not to learn though. The professor would be too much of a distraction for her. Heh. "Not too long though, certainly not as long as it vould take me to become a potioneer." That was not a title one got in a few years. It would take her most of her youth to finish studying the subject. She was already experimenting with a few potions and had been dabbling with creating one for a while.

"That's vhat one of the Hogvart students told me at the feast." It was possible that he had been lying. Not the first time a boy lied to impress her. Fletcher didn't seem to be lying though. She smiled when he said he would join her when she visited the village. Sandra had told the other boy she would go with him, but there was plenty of weekends for her to visit the village with others. Her friends included. "I look forvard to spending time vith you outside of the castle."

Running her fingers through her hair, she propped her elbow on the table, resting her head in her hand and leaning towards him. Only the slightest bit though. "I'm not sure. I guess they vould have a place for the students to restock on school supplies....and somevhere to dine." She hoped they had a few places that where she could do some shopping as well. Maybe a place to escape from the younger ones.

Isabella looked up when she heard a voice beside her.A girl with long blonde hair was standing there with a smile and asked for her book
"oh yeah sure" Isabella said and handed the book which was lying on the table there
"Have you finished reading the book?" Isabella asked.Because she remembered that it was a wonderful book.
"oh, i am sorry,I am Isabella Macmillan,fifth year" she said introducing herself and putting up her hand in front for a handshake.

"Yeah, fine, whatever," Carin managed, before turning away from Skye. Perhaps her tone wasn't exactly nice at this point, but she felt the older girl snubbed her rather rudely. She understood that Skye was mad at her, but for Merlin's sake did she have to be so plain... mean? All she'd ever done was try to be nice to her... and the fact that Skye didn't like her fight with Enya, well, that wasn't her fault now.

Deciding it wasn't worth picking a fight or continuing to talk to someone who so obviously did not want to talk to her, Carin decided to just focus on Louisa and Vashti for now.

Carin laughed as Astor rubbed himself against Vashti's hand. "He likes you!" she observed, smiling. That was good - she generally trusted her cat's instincts when it came to people. He'd very fittingly spit at her parents back home, but he was nice enough to some of the children she'd run into at the Muggle playground she went to once in a while.

"He has a knack for sensing the good in people, you know," she added after a minute. Her grin widened as Astor's purring became audible to her.

"Looks like they like each other, another day or two and Astor will have Kitty running around in no time," Carin said with a smile. Her cat batted a paw playfully at Kitty's ear and licked the brown cat back.

Seems like he approved of her choice of friends so far - and their pets, too, Carin thought happily.

Jen smiled politely and shook Isabella's hand. "Jen Potter." she said kindly. "Nice to know you, and no, i haven't finished it quite yet. i have just a couple more chapters to go."

Ari was getting the feel for this girl. She was direct and to the point and honest. "Actually, Ninety percent of the entire school gets along. It's rather nice. But then there's that ten percent that're just..." Ari here made a muffled kind of noise that one might hear if they just stepped in gum. "Let's just say it only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch."

She smiled when the girl said she felt welcome. "I'm very glad you think so. Most of us feel quite warmly towards the students staying here." It was true. Most people, she found, thought that Hogwarts was a very competitive place, feuds between the houses and such. But she discovered upon coming here that that was not true.

"The Potions Mistress?" Awkward pause. She didn't want to say anything negative--but she wasn't exactly Ari's cup of tea... "She is good at what she does annnddd... She's very intense--" to put it delicately-- "I, personally, preferred the previous Potions Master, but I can't say I have anything against Professor Lafay. I guess you just have to get used to her...idiosyncracies." Thank Merlin for Euphamisms.

And they were talking about the foreign students, and how great it was to make new friends. Or sometimes it wasn't. Kellen actually mentioned one fact, having to tell old and favourite stories.

Annie was still sitting at the couch nearby the staircase, really trying to ignore the talk. Still trying to read her Muggle Literature book that contained some information about Greek History and all the confusing mythology. Hmphh.

Still...she just wanted to speak up. Geez. Why was it so hard??

Nice to meet you Jen she said shaking her hand and smiling.Withdrawing her hand she said
"well its a nice book had read it sometime back,really sweet"
"um...you are related to Harry Potter?" she asked slightly anxious.

joey walk up the steps the the common room.she sat on the couch and was reading a book.she look up at the celling what lovely stars.she was reading when she saw when of her friends.

Jen smiled kindly. "Yeah, he's my grandfather." she said almost shyly. she always wondered what people thought about her connection to him.

She miled at you and luahged a little. "im luna." she said in her aquweird tone. "its nice to meet you"

So......so far she had met the ten percent of students that didn't get along. Lucky her. "You are right about that." She replied absently. She had met only a few bad apples and already got a bad impression on the school's youth. The older ones not so much. Specifically the older males.

Smirking, she ran her hand through her hair. "Yes, I noticed that vhen I vas at the feast." Those hot Hogwarts boys were more than welcoming to her. So was Noel. Heh. She was going to enjoy herself here.

Sandra took note of the awkward pause, and it piqued her interest in there potions mistress. The woman was good at her job, she would be the judge of that. Even if the Potions Mistress Lafay did prove to be a good professor, there was no way she could be as good as the one at Durmstrang.

"I look forvard to learning from this Professor Lafay." A small smirk still playing on her lips as she glanced around the common area. "Are the other professors just as interesting?"

Skye could tell that Carin didn't want to talk to her anymore, so she looked away from the girl. Guilt rushed up through her veins, reddening her cheeks. She shouldn't have been that cold. But it was for Carin's own good. Right?

Skye looked into the fire, letting it mesmerize her.

Pam struggled to get her homework done for divination. What are those answers?!? She tought. Surely she remembered them from class. But for some reason she couldn't remember them. She sighed and rubbed her face. There weren't many problems to do, but they could be a bit easier.
