Vaelle sniffed and sat up. While her nap had been needed, she knew that her textbooks were calling her name. Quietly as a mouse, so as not to disturb the girls conversating nearby, Vaelle packed her backpack and left the dorm to head to the library.

Rae normally hated talking about this subject. Yumm Calming Draught. It made her comfortable with anything. Though it still stung when she said the word 'killed'. No potion can make that easier. "Yes, me and my father were completely alike. Heh, he wanted to name me Rae. The prat wanted Alicia... I think ill just kick out Alicia while my last name is stripped as well." Though she would only have one name then. "Any ideas for a new name?"

"Hehh, It's fine, I learned to take care of myself. Xylon wants me to stay with him this summer anyways. The first summer ill be in the same place consistently.." Rae said that very casually from the potion.

Hmm... Rae wanted to ask about her. She was debating it until she decided that she would. "What's your situation... If you don't mind me asking."

Raising a brow at the girl that she didn't notice before, leave the room, Evelyn turned her attention back to Rae as she spoke again while crossing her arms. "Why not just keep your middle name as your first name?" she asked, tilting her head to the side slightly. "It could be just me since I'm used to calling you Rae, but yea...you look like a Rae. You also look like a Celine for some reason."

Hmm, Rae vs. Celine. Whatever. It was the Slytherin's choice what she wanted to do. "Or just do it the easy way. Keep Rae as your first name, then choose your favorite season and use that as your middle name." It's what Evelyn would've done at least. However, talk of the Gryffindor dude kept her mouth shut until she was not able to keep quiet any longer. "Ooh, the Gryffindor's house? Moving along kinda fast aren't you two? Been only a few months and you're already moving in with him." she teased the girl, not being able to help herself.

The few snickers and giggles subsided though, when asked the question...she didn't want to be asked. However, Rae was being incredibly honest with her. Once again, that guilty feeling engulfed her as she looked around the place. She had thought of keeping it quiet, but... "I am new...to it all, to tell the truth." she said quietly, looking back to Rae. "My parents and I don't get along well. At all really. And, this summer..."

...was the best she ever had. She knew it was too good to last.

"Well Yeah, im keeping Rae, I mean like..... I wont have a last name soon... Shouldn't everyone have a last name?" Celine??? Weird.

HAHHH! "I think there's exceptions in situations like mine... He said he didn't think it was right to be on the street all summer.. I just think of it as normal lifestyle now.." If she wasn't homeless then there was an extremely slim chance that she would really go with Xylon over the summer. Rae laughed a bit at what Evelyn said about moving fast though.

Of course Rae could tell she was knew at this... "So you're on your own now?" Rae could give her some tips. 5 years has given her some experience and that was exactly why she had offered Evelyn some of Rae's inheritance anyways. Rae knew how to get by without it, Evelyn was new, she needed it more than Rae.

"Ohh, right." she nodded. Well, just forget everything else she said! Eesh, she should really figure out what one means before speaking. A last name? "You should...go with the Gryffindor's last name." BAHAHAHA!

Okay, yes that was the last teasing she would do. This was, or is supposed to be, a serious discussion. She couldn't deny though that a joke or two made her feel a little more comfortable. "I was just teasing you." she said, another chuckle or so escaping her. "He's sweet, for suggesting you stay at his house. Seems like he cares a lot for you."

Smiling, though it turning out to be a little more sad than she thought it was, Evelyn nodded slowly at her question. "Since...a few months ago. They're still doing all the paperwork and such though, but, it's pretty obvious they are not changing their mind." It was tough. Even though she was at Hogwarts and had a bed, friends, food...she still felt lost and depressed. It didn't help with everything else going on either, like favorite Professors leaving. "I guess, now I need a last name too."

Staring at the ground with a blank expression, she didn't even think about being nameless until now. Huh. She will just be...Evelyn Rose. That didn't sound right.

Alex looked around grabbed Selena Zabini-Riddle's Pillow and took off downstairs again intending to chew out her boyfriend.

Selena walked back to her bed and laid down on it. The soft plushy pillows felt great under her head. Then she heard a crinkling sound. Did she leave something in her bed? She picked up the pillows and looked inside one. Oh. There was a letter in there.



Selena sighed and pulled out a fresh new sheet of parchment. She took out two sheets. She picked up her quill and started to write on it.



Selena finished writing a letter to Alex and sealed it in an envelope. On the front she wrote out Alexandrie Malfoy-Lupin in her best script and placed it next to her. She'd go to the common room next.



Selena finished writing this one as well and sealed it in another envelope. She wrote out Zane Hayes on the front in the same script and sighed. She supposed she was off to the common room to give them the letters. They were always there. No point in making such a long trip to the owlry just to send this. Selena stood and picked up the two letters. She sighed and moved towards the common room.

Rae knew Evelyn was joking with her... "Now THAT would be moving too fast." Rae laughed a bit but was really thinking about it... Rae Saar? Hehh. Maybe in the wayyy future... For now she needed something in place for it. Rae smiled when Evelyn said it was sweet what Xylon was offering her.

Paperwork? Rae never had any paperwork, she just left and didn't come back. Maybe there was paperwork involving her name? Wait wait...... "A few months ago?!" Merlin! Rae guessed she was new at this but not that new! She hadn't even left Hogwarts on her own yet then! Would Evelyn accept Rae's help? She knew quite a bit about living on your own now. Rae felt really bad for Evelyn..... She was in for a really big shock.

Last names.... Both of them needed one.... Until it was time that they could get one from someone else.. Rae thought of it again, Rae Saar..... Not now, not now,

"Do you think favorite seasons would work for a last name too?" Did Rae have a favorite season? Winter..... Rae Winter... That sounded weird.... Why did she like winter anyways? Because both Rae and Xylon loved snow... Rae Snow.... That didn't sound right either. "Got any ideas or your new last name?"

Snickering at Rae's words, the Slytherin would have found it hilarious, and slightly weird, if Rae came back next year with the Gryffindor's last name. Whatever it was...

Then it would be endless teasing from her end.

Hmmm...was that a bad thing? A few months ago? "Yes?" she said unsure, her snickering subsiding as she stared apprehensively at the older Slytherin. How long had Rae been without her parents? The letter said something about four years, but was that how long the Slytherin had not been home? Wait, didn't she say something about it? Eh, whatever. She'll just randomly remember later on when she was going to bed and had to think over everything again.

"I don't know. It was a random thought and I just stuck it out there." she confessed quietly, looking around the room and noting the others that had come in. Hmm, Lufoy, come and gone, and...the Riddle girl. She was in no mood for arguments however, and she definitely wasn't in the mood to make up as friends. Staring at the other Slytherin for a moment however, she almost missed Rae's question until she caught the words at the last second.

"No." She hadn't thought about it until now. "I don't know. Seasons...flowers..." Perhaps not flowers. She already had one for a middle name. "I really don't...want to think about it right now to tell the truth." She wanted to keep the name she had now.

When Evelyn asked questioningly Rae felt like she should explain her shock in this.. "I just didn't know this was just happening...... Er... How... Did this happen? If you don't mind..." Rae was a bit eager to know but when it was still fresh like this, Rae was hesitant.... It was five years later and Rae still had a hard time talking about it... (When not on calming draught.)

Ooh... Rae really hit a nerve... Not like they weren't on a touchy subject anyways. "Look, I know how much this sucks.... I'm in it too... And even with my family drama, I still want my father's last name. So if I want it or not, It's getting stripped from me. Now I'm not sure if you have a choice with your name, but if you don't either... I thought at least we could have fun with it... Make up a name you always wanted or something. You know?"

How did this happen? Looking back to Rae, Evelyn sat on her trunk once more before dragging her bag towards her. Pausing though, before she took anything out, she thought about it for a moment. It was ridiculous. The reason why. "I was accused..." she started, staring at her bag before chuckling and shaking her head. Stupid. Stupid reason. "...of something rather ridiculous. And my parents don't like that kind of light shining on the family name."

Well, she herself knew the truth. Part of it at least. And she was innocent. Before she could even open her bag up though to take out her books, Rae had spoke again, and it did nothing to calm the Slytherin down. "No, I don't have a choice if I get to keep my name or not." she grumbled, ripping open her bag so she could get her Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures notebooks out.

Still listening to Rae however, Evelyn finally got the notebooks, grabbed a pencil, and stood up, staring at the older Slytherin. Talking about problems was supposed to make you feel better. She only felt irritated and hurt. "I don't want any other name. I want my name. I like my name. There is purpose to my name, and if I don't have it...then I have no purpose. I have nothing." Closing her eyes, she turned her head towards the door and let out a long breathe. "I am...nothing."

Accused.... How selfish were her parents? Rae listened until she saw Evelyn really hurt now. Great Rae had to push it. Rae had been exactly how Evelyn was, not until recently had she really gotten on with the fact that she could do something... How could she possibly get it through to her? How would Rae get to listening if it was five years ago? Only if someone screamed it in her face probably... Rae wont go to screaming, but a higher tone might make her stop right? She just wanted to help. "But you don't have a choice on if you get that name or not! And I know you think you are alone, even if you have friends or people to talk to or a guy you like.. Because i'm the same. I always feel alone, And here's what I have long thought. Because of what I am now, I will never have a future. I was positive that since im that girl who has no parents, no bed at night or roof over her head, who steals money for food, who is never good in school.... That I could never do anything. That I would always be like this. You don't get the choice with your name, but you get the choice with what's left."

Rae's tone in her voice calmed down so now she could just talk. She just raised it to make her stop, make her listen. "How about this, as hard as it can be, stop thinking about what happened. And focus on what you can do next. Choose a name as a start, I don't even know, maybe Destiny can find something crazy and awesome..." Or incredibly weird. "From there, you'll figure it out, and i'll help if you let me." No one deserved to be on their own like this.

Rolling her eyes at the first words Rae said, Evelyn turned and kicked her bag back underneath her bed, intending to just ignore the older Slytherin, but it was hard when the girl's voice almost echoed in the room. Turning to stare at her, Evelyn moved back around her bed and trunk, taking a few steps towards the door when she slowed down and stopped.

A choice with what's left? Looking down at the notebooks in her hands, she hadn't realized a scowl was on her face until she relaxed slightly. Sniffling quietly when Rae stopped talking, she finally noticed her blurred vision. Shaking her head, she wiped the growing tears from her eyes before holding her head up high and turning her attention to Rae. "If you don't mind...I'd rather just, not think about it for awhile." she said shakily at first. Clearing her throat, she half moved back to the door before pausing again. "I'll worry about it during the summer."

Summer at Destiny's. Huh. She had no idea what crazy thought was going through her mind when she agreed to that. "But, I can write you this summer right? You won't be all busy 24/7 with your Gryffie will you be?" Because, that would suck if she was. Evelyn didn't normally ask for help, with anything...but she really needed it now.

Rae decided she should just let it go. Rae looked up to see Evelyn wiping her eyes... Merlin! Rae just wanted Evelyn to not do what Rae did. She was making her cry instead....

She didn't know what to say anymore, what to think. Evelyn asked if she could write? Like for help? "Oh, of course you can. I wont be busy. I bet i'll even see you in the summer a bit too." After all, Xylon was going to university... She would probably have some summer to kill off somewhere else... She could find Evelyn and they could figure it out together. Or something.

Rae had no idea how relieved Evelyn was hearing that. Someone that had actually been through what she was going through to talk to. She had actually considered owling Lawson over the summer, but since recent events killed that plan, this was a good step for her. Plus, she was still too angry at the professor.

"Okay. Good." she nodded, regaining the air of confidence about her as she stood up tall with a small smile on her face. "Great." Yea. Now was the awkward part that she hadn't been expecting. In less then ten minutes, she confessed to someone she was practically homeless, and showed too much emotion. Clearing her throat once more, she hesitated for a moment before smiling at Rae and turning towards the door. "Oh, and umm... thank...you..." Yea. And thanked someone. Eesh.

Nodding and smiling once more at Rae, she held up her notebooks for a moment, before rolling her eyes and laughing juuuuuuust the slightest. Homework. Of course.

And this conversation...never happened. Yup.

As Evelyn was turning to leave Rae had an idea....Maybe it was stupid but she could try... "Hey... Evelyn?" Rae looked at her hoping this might make the past few minutes seem better. "You wanna bake sometime soon?" Evelyn loved to bake right? Even if Rae didn't really know how.. This seemed like a good idea. Evelyn most likely wont be baking in the summer.

With her hand on the doorknob and opening the door, Evelyn was just about to walk out when she paused...again...and hung her head slightly with a small sigh escaping her. "Mhmm?" she hummed, looking over her shoulder to Rae and waiting for the reason her name was called.

Her eyes grew wide in slight surprise when she heard the question. Baking? Rae wanted to bake. With her. She hadn't baked anything since she had lunch with Patroclus, and even then, he did all the work. However, she smiled and nodded at the older Slytherin. "Yea!" she said, a little more louder than intended. "I mean, yea. That would be cool."

Baking was definitely in order. She almost forget about it actually, and since she had increased her running distance every morning and evening, it was the last thing on her mind.

Rae smiled to know that she finally said SOMETHING right. When she heard Evelyn's surprising, excited 'Yea' it made Rae fill up with excitement as well. Cool, so this conversation wasn't a TOTAL loss.

"So, are you busy now? .... Or........ If you are it's fine." Rae felt a bit awkward now trying to bring up a subject.

Now? She wanted to bake now?

Looking down at her notebooks, having procrastinated on her homework, Evelyn looked back up to Rae for a moment, weighing the options in her mind. She really wanted to bake something, but she really needed to finish her homework. "Umm." Ugh! Tough choice. "Have you finished the Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures homework yet by any chance?"

Or did she even do it?

Errr.. Awkward.....
"Truthfullly," Rae thought it was best to just say it instead of make some excuse on why she hasn't done it or didn't even start. "I barely ever do my homework..." Yep, that was basically it.... Ohh, and one more thing... "I also have no idea what the homework is....." All Rae did that lesson was pet Kitty!Gold and try to make Xylon turn into a turtle.

Seriously?

Raising a brow, she stared at the older Slytherin for a moment before a small laugh escaped her. "Right." she mumbled, nodding her head and moving back to her bed to pull out her bag. Putting her notebooks away, she placed the bag under her bed once more standing up and taking a deep breathe before turning back to Rae. "I'll just...do it later."

Yup, later as in later tonight. It's not like she was going to get much sleep anyways.

Sarah walked into the her dormitory and closed the door. What happened back home? What's going on? She took out the letter that read Urgent: READ ALONE and just below that it read Sarah Elizabeth-Taylor Black-Lestrange

The Letter:
Sarah was shaking, her whole world collapsing. How could this happen? How could they do this? Why would they let it get this bad? What was she going to decide, dad or mum, mum or dad? I love them both, how do you decide?
She couldn't hold it back any longer, she just let the tears flow. Sitting there on her bed, letter in hand, and tears streaming down her face, Sarah couldn't imagine what was going to happen to her family and whatever future
they had next.

Selena was sitting on her bed reading a book when she saw Sarah. "Sarah? Is there something wrong?" Selena asked as she slid a bookmark into the book and walked over to Sarah. She placed an arm around her and hugged her. "Everything's alright?" she asked.

"oh! Se-Selena I-I didn't see you there." Sarah said wiping away her tears as she spoke, but unfortunately this just made more room for more tears to freely roll down. Sarah sighed. "N-no I-I mean yes, somethings wrong." she passed her the letter from her mum and sat there still trying to figure out what to do next now that her parents were getting divorced.

She took the letter and read it through. "Sarah, it'll be alright," she said soothingly, "my parents divorced as well, but most marriages do," she said with a small smile as she rubbed her friend's back soothingly. Yes, it had been a bit painful at first, but she got over it. "You'll see that it's for the best," she promised.
