"Thanks. Yeah you can ask around if you'd like." Leilani nodded. "Yeah sure." she reached across her bed and flipped her trunk open. Fiddling around inside it, she searched for the hidden drawer in the side. Lani pulled it open and pulled out her neatly folded dress. She held it up for Selena to see. It was a blueish-green plaid halter top dress with lace along the top."So, what d'you think?"

Rae walked up to her Dormitory along with Evelyn. Rae knew that her bag was right next to her bed to it would not be a difficult job to go pick it up. when they got to the room where her bed was she turned to Evelyn. "I wont take long, just a second." She turned back and was about 5 feet from her bed when she saw an envelope on her pillow.... Weird. Rae walked up a bit more only to stop dead in her tracks. When she saw the name 'Alicia' on the envelope she knew who it was from. She didn't know whether to take it and read it or to crumple it and throw it in the fire without opening it or to leave it there ad come back to read it later. She looked back at Evelyn even though Rae knew that she would have no idea what was going on... Still the question remains... Does she read it now?

Following Rae into the dormitory, Evelyn nodded and went to her own trunk. "Hey, I'll be right back." she said, pulling out new clothes and standing up. "Need to take a shower. Ten minutes tops. Promise." Mwaha! Clean clean shower!

Turning around to go into the bathroom, she took a quick glance at Rae with a small smile when she caught sight of the letter. "Cool. You gunna read it?" Hehe. To the shower!!

Minutes later, with clean clothes on, Evelyn stepped out from the bathroom, still drying her hair with a towel. She would've used a simple drying charm but seeing as hot air made her hair frizzy, she usually just let it dry on it's own. Most of the time it worked out perfectly anyways.

Having folded her running clothes, she walked over and placed them on the edge of her bed before turning to Rae. However, it looked like she was still reading the letter. Still? It didn't look that long. "Everything okay?"

Even if Evelyn had a great relationship with her parents she could agree with that. All kids had problems with their parents..... But some... Like Rae's were far more messed up than others. If her father was alive then her mother would never act like this, her father was Rae's protector.

She didn't know much about the girl, and surely it would tell her a little more. Or perhaps she could just ask Rae?

Well, that was a relief to have permission. Then she didn't have to get all sneaky and pretend to throw it away and instead, stuff it in her shoe or something. Closing her trunk, the Slytherin sat on top of it before she unwrinkled the letter and read it.

She actually read it a few times over and over again. Why were parents such... Ugh! However, she had to read it a few times over again so she could get past the fact that Rae was going to be without a last name, and focus on the other information. The letter, really told her a lot about her Slytherin friend. Where had she been living the past four years? Her father was dead? And why did her mother sound like...a lot like Evelyn's...

Staring at the floor, she gently folded the letter back up before looking to Rae. "I'm sorry." she said, standing up and handing the folded letter back to the older Slytherin. "Believe it or not...but I have a small idea of what you're going through."

The bad, because it was her mother's fault that he was dead, and she was now keeping his name while Rae was going to be left without his name. Rae downed the extra bottle of calming draught that she had kept from that one charms class where she had gotten sick.

She had been expecting...to lose her last name? Evelyn herself had been expecting that of her own life, but it didn't seem like she had been thinking about it as much as Rae had been. Evelyn, in fact, was encouraging her parents to do so. For various reasons of course.

Not seeing Rae take whatever potion it was, the Slytherin took off her shoes and dragged another pair out from under her bed before putting them on, kicking the other ones back under though. "No." she quickly said, looking up from tying one shoe, straight at Rae. "No. I don't want part of...your fortune."

Slowly looking back down to her shoe, she stared it for a moment before she finished tying it. "It's yours. You're going to need it." She almost felt insulted by the suggestion. Surely Rae wasn't accusing her of stealing? Or going to... "I don't steal. And I won't in the future." she said with a frown, standing up from her bed and moving to one of the bed posts to lean on. Well, actually, that was a lie. Staring at the older Slytherin for a moment, Evelyn sighed and looked around the room. "Well if I do...at least I give whatever it is back." she mumbled quietly in a soft defeated tone. Meh.

"Where do you live then?" The girl couldn't understand Rae. She had a home. Why not live there? No matter how much she may dislike whoever was there, it was a home. A place to live and food to eat. Evelyn didn't really want to tell her situation as it was. Rae already knew too much. And so did Destiny. Well, actually, Destiny didn't know what was going on, thank Merlin. She just knew that Evelyn was having parent issues and needed someplace to stay over the summer.

Rae slept on the streets? Eyebrows raising in surprise, Evelyn moved away from the bed post and sat back down on her trunk. What even surprised her more was what the older Slytherin said next. Wow. How could someone be so comfortable with telling all of this to someone?

"I guess that would, be a good reason to not live with her." she said, trying to determine the best reason behind it. "Were you close to your father? If you don't mind me asking..." Either that, or it was just because she was afraid her mother would...

Eesh. Tough life. Much worse then her own. However, she couldn't help the small laugh. "If I would've known, or even knew your earlier, you could've lived at my house." Mansion thing. Plenty of rooms for another person, and she was sure her parents would have reluctantly agreed in the end. Rae was a Slytherin after all.
