Sorry, Professor," she said quietly. Pointing her wand at the bowl, she said, "Accio Egg Shells," over and over until she was sure all the pieces of the egg shell were out of the bowl. "I... suppose I should go get another egg, then," she said in her quiet voice. Her spirit was now being smothered by her embarrassment as she ran back to the room with all the ingredients and grabbed another egg. When she returned, she handed it to Torin. "Maybe you should do the eggs, Nirot," she said with the tiniest of smiles. "I'll put in the special ingredient."

And with that, she grabbed her rainbow sprinkles and began adding them to the slowly stirring batter.

Lexi just laughed softly. It was an honest mistake to make, and she bet if she asked around...and if others were honest...she'd find that a few other people had once mistaken egg shells for egg whites. Merlin, she probably did the same thing when she was young, too. Well, not that she was old now, because she wasn't. She just wasn't a student anymore, that was all. "Meh, it's no big deal. See," she said, leaning in a little and studying the inside of the bowl. "You've already removed them all anyway..."

"Ye..ok to you, too, Mr. Greenwood," she said with a laugh... Whatever that meant, though. Lexi just guessed it was some version of, 'Yes, Professor. I'm okay, thank you.' Seeing that the boy seemed to be just fine and was now getting busy with the baking, Lexi turned and headed to another part of the room.

He saw others around him partnering off and hoped to find someone without a partner, but for now he would just get started, but there was one question that had yet to be answered.
"Excuse Me, Professor, just a quick question. With most recipes the first step is to pre-heat the oven. Will we be doing so or will we be using a charm to bake our cupcakes." He smiled at the Professor, he knew it was very important to have the oven hot by the time the batter was done, so he though it best to ask.

Lexi shook her head in reply. "For today, the only charm you definitely need to use is the one to get the spoon to moving on its own. You can just go ahead and use the preheat option on the oven," she said, nodding in the direction of the ovens in the back of the room. Charming the cupcakes to heat and cook wasn't a bad idea, but it was a topic Lexi would save for some other lesson...at some point.

Though the bowl is not yet a foot away from the table, Sophia tapped her wand against the side and said, "Fixate!" It took a few seconds for Sophia to realize that she forgot about the 1 foot thing. Uh-oh. "Uhh, Professor, what will I do if it's not yet a foot away from the table? Can I just bring it back to the table with my hands?" Sophia asked the Professor.

"Mmhmm, that's a really simple thing to correct. Just go ahead and grab it and bring it to where you need it. You can also just point your wand directly at it and use finite to end the spell," she said. Lexi stayed put to watch and see what would happen next. She was sure the girl would be able to correct the issue on her own, but just in case, Lexi would be nearby.

I know Grandma Quinlivan uses a sieve to sift her dry ingredients. I guess I would use the same thing. Sidney accios a large sieve to her. She then fixes another mixing bowl, so it floats properly in the air. Sidney levitates the sieve above the bowl and then measures and pours the dry ingredients in the sieve. How do I sift the ingredients using magic? Grandma always just shakes the sieve from side to side. I guess I could use the Locomotor charm to do that. Sidney points her wand at the sieve and says "Locomotor Sieve!" She then slowly moves her sieve from side to side. Everything is going fine until Sidney decides it's taking too long. She speeds things up with disasterous results. The sieve moves too fast and flower, cocoa powder, and everything else starts flying everywhere. "Professor, help!!"

Lexi knew, even before she heard the girl's cry for help, that something...somewhere...had gone wrong. She knew, because a few splatters of what she guessed to be cocoa powder sprayed her in the face and on her shirt.

More concerned about what was happening than she was about dusting the powder off, Lexi glanced up to see a spinning sieve---a very fast spinning sieve---tossing cocoa powder all about the place. Puffing a bit of cocoa powder out her mouth, Lexi pointed her wand at the spinning sieve and said, "Finite." Like a little frisbee, it spiraled a few times before she caught it in her hands.

"Miss Marlowe," she warned, handing the girl the sieve. "...only on the spoon for now." She brushed off the rest of the powder then glanced back up at the girl. She didn't want her to think she was angry or something. "It's alright, though. If you want to try the charm on a sieve, though, practice without any ingredients in it first." She gave the girl a little smile before turning to a different student.

Okay there probably was, but Cela was finding it hard to think of something right then.

She took the offered wooden spoon and mixing bowl, placed it in front of her on the table and just did some breathing exercises, wand grasped in hand as she peeked warily at the professor.

Okay. Those were all charms Cela could do, though she was tempted to just fling the bowl and the spoon in the air instead of levitating it. She did it all non-verbally, keeping one eye warily on the professor even as the bowl and spoon lifted, fixated and rotated under the power of Cela's magic.

It was really like substitutiary locomotion wasn't it? Though maybe doing that would be a bit too much for some of the younger students. She was busy thinking about this and barely noticed the crashing or anything else until a book landed on her desk and something about cupcakes? Gosh.

She belatedly stopped her bowl and spoon, her hand snaking out to catch the bowl, though the spoon clattered out on her table, not making as much noise as it might have since it bounced off the open pages of the cupcake book.

she tugged at her apron and the pretty ribbons, conjured an extra one and used it to tie her hair back, then raised her hand.

"Miss Toussaint?" she asked, as she made her way to the table the Head Girl was at. Sure, Lexi hadn't been officially introduced to the Head Girl, but she'd have to be a rock to have not familiarized herself with the head students by now. She noticed the girl's wary look and narrowed her own eyes in concern. "Is something wrong?"
