Jen frowned at herself. "I'm sorry. I am judging. How wrong of me." She sighed and attempted to amend herself. "I suppose that any house would be all right. Being sorted in a house won't change who i am."

Jen followed Vashti's gaze to her owl. "She's staring ar you." Jen noted as she watched Minerva. "I think she likes you." Jen smiled at Vashti.

"It's fine." Ellie reassured the poor girl. "I judge too. My parents do, and I've gotten it from them I guess. I try not to thought. But that's all anyone can do, right? It's human nature." Ahhh. Now she felt as if she was degrading the others. Whoops.

Jen smiled, completely reassured. "That's a good point." She said. "So which class are you most excited about?"

"Umm.." Ellie considered for a minute, "Well I know a few charms and transfiguration-type spells already. Then I know some healing spells. I know a bit about plants, not too much on dangerous ones though, but that would be herbology. Then there are just simple ones like 'lumos' which I'm not very sure where they fit into." she paused thinking more, "Oh, and a couple defensive and attack spells, but my mom didn't like my dad teaching me those, so he couldn't teach me too many." Was she sounding a little know-it-all?? I think she was. But she didn't care. So what if she was ahead of the others. She may just be better. Which was her dad's plan in the first place. Her darker side was giving in a bit.

Jen grinned. "Interesting. My mum felt just the opposite as your mum. She taught me mostly defensive things. So Defense Against the Dark Arts would be the one that i am most excited for." Jen felt as though she could be sitting with her future best friend. They had a lot in common when it came to their education- they were both smart and prepared.

Victoria glanced at Jen and Ellie, happy that they were becoming friends even though she herself felt a little jealous of them. Her mother didn't teach her any spells after they got back from Diagon Alley; in fact, she never even told Victoria about her being a witch in the beginning! She barely talked with her mother because of that, and part of her felt like never talking to her again. However, she still wished things turned out different and she be taught spells like them.

During her conversation with Ellie Jen glanced at Victoria in wonder. She saw the slightly sad looking expression on her face. Jen felt sorry, not knowing whether something she said had caused this reaction or not. She hated seeing her friends with that look. She didn't know whether to say something about it or not. Deciding that it wasn't the best idea to draw attention to Victoria, Jen decided to smile at her, hoping that Victoria would cheer up.

Oh crap. B girl remembered her name and Mariel still hadn't a clue. Never letting her smile falter, she continued her "everything's cool" expression. Beth Ann? The more Mariel thought about it, the more she second-guessed herself. Maybe it was Beth Ann... though she didn't really look like a Beth Ann, she thought as looked her over. She still wasn't going to say anything though. Maybe Kevin would say her name when he talked to her, or maybe some other friend of hers would come by. Then she would hear it. No need to embarass herself. "Not much," she finally answered, cool as a cucumber. "Excited to be back. Been away for awile. I'm sure I missed a lot."

Hmm. It seemed as though Kevin and her housemate had already made their introductions so she wouldn't be catching that name anytime soon. Instead she just nodded as he spoke. "That's cool. So, uh..." What was she to say now? Small talk was eluding her at the present moment and it seemed especially hard to think of things to say to people she hadn't spoken to in so long. She was saved, however, by the presence of another.

Mariel's attention was diverted to the door when a girl about her age appeared there, asking for permission to enter. "Sure, have a seat," she shrugged and gestured to an empty spot in the compartment. Now was her chance to find out if the other Ravenclaw's name was Beth Ann or not - though she was fairly certain not - as she eagerly looked from the Claw to the new girl, waiting to see if either offered their name to the other.

And another? Mariel glanced back to the door once more as a little girl walked in - one that apparently knew Kevin. The sixth year gave her a brief, acknowledging nod as she entered. Oh good, another chance for introductions. Mariel was in the clear now.

"Yes, my mom's a bit more serious than my dad. He's a joker and a prankster. But she does enjoy a good laugh. That's why they're so great for each other, I guess. I mostly just learned spells from her by observing. Like to charm the soap to wash the dishes." She looked around at the other girls, which she felt she was ignoring unintentionally, and asked a general question, "So, what are your backgrounds?" she asked openly, in a non-judgmental manner. She wasn't prejudiced.

"Um..." Victoria was starting to get uncomfortable. "I'm Half-Blood..."

Jen looked around the room and felt sudden tension- she was good at picking up with things like that, feeling the need to change the subject, she said, "So, anyone hungry? Perhaps the trolly will be coming by here or something."

"Are you alright?" Ellie asked her. "You seem a bit..." She let her voice trail off. She wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to say anyway. "Well I think that's cool that you're half-blood. Who has the magic in your family. I always think that's so interesting." She hoped to lighten the girls mood a bit.

"My mother..." Then, she stood up. "I think I'll head to the Food Trolley. Excuse me." Then, she left the compartment.

Ellie immediately felt bad. She was being pushy. It's not that she didn't know when she was pushing too much. She did. She just liked to. She liked to know as much as possible. And.... well she got carried away. Purposely. And that just made her feel all the worse... She bit her lip and looked around the compartment, then out the window.

Jen tried to say something to Victoria, but it was too late, she had already left. Feeling bad about the whole situation, Jen sighed and frowned to herself, wondering how she could have been so insensitive. She obviusly didn't want to talk about her family. To distract herself from the awkward situation in front of her, Jen reached down and pulled Minerva's cage onto her lap. "Hello, Minerva." She cooed.

Cedric quickly slid in on an empty compartment and eagerly took a seat by the window. He glanced through the window then his long lost friends randomly popped on his mind; Man! he really missed them especially his friends who had just graduated. He slothfully slouched on his seat, trying to get some slumber before they finally reach Hogwarts. He found it a bit sad to be just on his own though but he's not a kid anymore so he therefore need to get use to being independent and all.

Lucky was not so lucky at all. She couldn't find her best friend. Her best friend being Mercedes Finklestein. That girl couldn't have gone far, right? RIGHT? Maybe she was hiding from her because she didn't want to take the chance of her wand being broken again. Maybe... Who knew? All she knew was that she was friendless at the moment as well as compartmentless.

She headed down the hallway of the train until she came across a compartment that was only occupied by one person, who looked like he was trying to fall asleep.

Should she bug him? Hmm.

Finally deciding she should since she needed a compartment, she opened the door. "Hello. Do you mind if I join you?" She asked. "I'm not able to find an empty compartment."

Cedric grimaced as someone mumbled. He was close to sleeping so it was like he was only half-hearing the words uttered by... whom? He tilted his head to the person who opened the door as he wiped the sweat on his forehead. How should he treat her? get angry because she woke him up? be friendly since he was friendless at the current time of being? he didn't know, he was just clueless and undecided.

"Uhm, I don't mind at all..." He said almost inaudibly. If the girl wouldn't bug him that much then she would be more than welcome to join him. "Awful. All of the other compartments are occupied as it seemed."

Now what he should say next? Ask her name? Offer some pastilles?

Rae had walked until she had found an empty compartment. She opened the compartment door and slid inside, she dropped her stuff on the floor (like anyone would care if she's messy she's alone anyways) and alone is how she always was, she didn't mind it, but she didn't mind people with her either. If she had the compartment all to herself she might as well take advantage of it, she leaned against the window and sprawled her legs across the seats. This felt nice to just relax.....

Magnolia walked up and down the train searching for a compartment. She couldn't find anyone she had met, but that didnt matter, she felt kind of like being alone anyways.

Finally Magnolia found a semi-empty compartment. "Excuse me, do you mind if i join you?" she asked a girl in one of the back compartments.

Marie could feel herself getting angry at Evan the more she listened to him. "Believe what you want but I don't think you are stupid." So... he didn't want her to sit with him but he doesn't mind if she does? Talk about someone being confused. She knew when she wasn't wanted, there was no way Marie was going to sit in the same compartment with someone who didn't want her there. "Umm, I tihnk I will just go find someplace else to sit. I wouldn't want you to feel like you had to be nice to me." she said turning to leave.

Hearing his comment about Carter though she turned back around. "You know what, you can say all you want about Carter but at least he knows how to be a true friend. Which is what he is... a friend! Since you seem to be convinced differently though, maybe when I find him I will ask him to be my boyfriend." She turned and left the compartment leaving Evan to sit by himself. She wasn't going to fight with him anymore, all she wanted to do was find Carter. Maybe she would find him in the middle of the train since he obviously wasn't anywhere on the back of the train.

In the midst of Rae's relaxing, she heard her compartment door slide open, she opened her eyes to find a girl asking is she could sit with her. Rae could tell she was a first year, you can always tell if they're first years, oh well, lets not give her a bad impression of the first journey to hogwarts right? "Uhh sure, that's fine." Rae looked at all the stuff she had dropped on the floor and kicked it over towards the window, then picked up Erebos' cage and sat it down on the seat next to her where she had taken her legs off the seats and back on the floor.

"Ughhh thanks" Magnolia said, chucking her stuff on the ground. "You don't have to move over, i can stick my bags on this seat" she said smiling. Magnolia pulled Tilly out of her basket and began petting her fluffy little head. "I'm Magnolia, by the way" she said pulling her feet up onto the seat underneath her and extending her hand towards the girl.

She watched as the girl groaned then thanked her... Well, she didn't have to sit here if she didn't want to. The girl told Rae she didn't have to move, but Rae was just moving her crap off the floor. The girl introduced herself as magnolia, well, She might as well be nice back. I'm Rae, your a first year right? You look like one... Oh no offense by that, it's not a bad thing it's just, first years generally look alike." Trying to make that not sound mean, but Rae wasn't trying to be mean, it was the truth.

"No it's fine" Magnolia said laughing. "actually its a nice change, back at my old school i kind of stood out, and not really in a good way so blending in will be wonderful". She thought of how the other kids teased her back at home for the weird things she'd made happen. Magnolia tried to repress a yawn, "oh man, i hardly got any sleep last night" she put Tilly back in her bag and leaned her head against the window. "Is it hard to learn magic?" The words had slipped out before Magnolia could stop them. She felt ignorant for asking but she was so nervous about coming from a muggle family that she ignored the pang in her pride.
